Episode Transcript
[SPEAKER_03]: Hello everyone and welcome to the Delta Flyers journey through the wormhole with quirk, dacks, and their good friends, Tom and Harry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Join us as we make our way through episodes of Star Trek Deep Space Nine.
[SPEAKER_00]: Your hosts for today are my fellow trek actors, Terry Farrell, Robert Dunton McNeil, and myself, Garrett Wong, and of course our very special guest in the knob visitor.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited to have you.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad to be here and it was fun to rewatch or actually watch this episode for the first time.
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think I ever saw it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Really?
[SPEAKER_04]: What?
[SPEAKER_04]: No, never saw this one.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a big one for you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's, yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's, it's filled in the water.
[SPEAKER_04]: Let's face it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just have one, no, no, I have one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Love this episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: One burning question and it comes from from our membership, which is not the episode we're talking about.
[SPEAKER_00]: But when you're playing the Russian gal, I loved it so much.
[SPEAKER_00]: Was it your choice to say Colonele Colonele, instead of saying Colonel, were you pronounced it that way?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Was that your choice?
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: What was the old half-hour sitcom that was based?
[SPEAKER_04]: What was the Hogan's hero's?
[SPEAKER_04]: I got, you know, I got my horrible accent and Colonella from that.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, God.
[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it was so sexy and fun and sexy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love that episode.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was so fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: We did too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I just had to throw that out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for answering that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_03]: That you did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Robbie, I interrupted your last part of your intro.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you do what you're just going to remind everybody if they want bonus material and lots of more exciting stuff you can sign up to patreon.com for slash the Delta Flyers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Become a patron and get all the bonus material all the after party conversations.
[SPEAKER_02]: So check it out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I want to say this podcast episode is going to be airing around the time that the finale of Resident Alien comes on.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Nana was gracious enough to a couple of weeks ago jump on a Zoom with Resident Alien crew and do a [SPEAKER_02]: A little cameo voiceover for playing the mom in an episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was so glad that you could do that.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that was fun.
[SPEAKER_04]: I still have my lines right here in front of me.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you do it in your voice from our man, Bashir, though?
[SPEAKER_04]: He probably would.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure I could.
[SPEAKER_04]: But I don't want to ruin the magic of the phone call.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Show.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's that's pristine.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're there so it's right in the beginning of the show the episode it is our finale episode you're making phone call and we put a little easter egg in there we kind of came up with some [SPEAKER_02]: Some sci-fi humor, I guess you'd call it, so.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, nice.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then, how did you have fun doing that voiceover for Robby's show?
[SPEAKER_04]: I totally did.
[SPEAKER_04]: I so did.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was fun to work with Robby and it was fun just to improv and think about what could thrill people to hear.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, oh my God, she said that.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to see this episode and hear your voiceover.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: What else is going on in your life these days?
[SPEAKER_04]: Um, just fun, fun, interesting things.
[SPEAKER_04]: Django, um, my son is having a little girl in December.
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't know if I make you all feel old.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: The infant.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is you and since this is you and Sid's offspring.
[SPEAKER_04]: And he's already having a child.
[SPEAKER_04]: He's having a child.
[SPEAKER_04]: But after all, he is twenty eight.
[SPEAKER_04]: So it's like he's eighteen.
[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But to me, he feels free.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'll bring it such a weird word.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's like something that's rang from me.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's like alien or something.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Jumped out of an egg.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: An insect just popped out or something.
[SPEAKER_00]: Jango, the child of you and Sid's.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're in Sid's child.
[SPEAKER_00]: How's that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Not off spring.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: Son, is that your first grandchild?
[SPEAKER_01]: Your grandchild.
[SPEAKER_04]: This will be my second grand daughter.
[SPEAKER_04]: I have a twelve-year-old grand daughter.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he doesn't live close to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so this is going to be the first time you're actually getting the same idea as your grandbaby's being born.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think it with them.
[SPEAKER_04]: And no, they don't call me and will never call me Nana or Nana or anything like that.
[SPEAKER_02]: What does it call you?
[SPEAKER_02]: What's your grandma?
[SPEAKER_04]: Miss visitor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Miss visitor.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, what do they call you?
[SPEAKER_00]: Come on.
[SPEAKER_04]: There's a well, it's kind of badass.
[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't see calls me.
[SPEAKER_04]: She calls me gang of mama and that girl mama, right?
[SPEAKER_05]: That's great.
[SPEAKER_04]: I like it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_04]: A lot.
[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, they always choose.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's what comes out of their mouth.
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's it.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it stays that way.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_04]: And it's great.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, [SPEAKER_00]: and the non-bad ass.
[SPEAKER_00]: I guess that ass harsh advice.
[SPEAKER_00]: The acronym would be Baha B-A-A just so you know.
[SPEAKER_04]: I think we have something here.
[SPEAKER_04]: You're all welcome to contribute.
[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's trippy to Baha.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a birthday to talk about.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is AJ's birthday on August, twenty eighth happy birthday AJ.
[SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday AJ.
[SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday AJ.
[SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday AJ.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do some poetry, Robin.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you know we do poems to summarize the experience of the episode in an art form of poetry.
[SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Here is my poem for return to grace.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira gets a Kardashian top secret conference invite.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do cuts her escort and gives her dinner by candlelight.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do cuts itching for a war or Kira doesn't want that anymore.
[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to know when to give up the fight.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well done.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_03]: Very welcome.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's my, yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: You are not going to believe this.
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
[SPEAKER_03]: In honor of Nenada doing our show again.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wrote a poem.
[SPEAKER_03]: You did.
[SPEAKER_00]: You did.
[SPEAKER_03]: I did.
[SPEAKER_03]: I have not done this enough for like a year.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my God.
[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't I go like the first six months and then it was like I got so freaked out.
[SPEAKER_03]: You did.
[SPEAKER_03]: You did.
[SPEAKER_03]: You did.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just willing to fail now.
[SPEAKER_03]: So here we go.
[SPEAKER_03]: We do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Dedicated to the knot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's hear it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Powerfully, she is grace, locked in, never losing pace, not for his constant admiration, their situation, a mere complication, focusing on a mutual enemy, in no way gives him indemnity.
[SPEAKER_03]: His weak ego wreaks of desperation as her honor leads with restoration.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, not be there shouldn't be any kind of hierarchy in this stuff, but I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_04]: I know.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Winner winner chicken dinner.
[SPEAKER_04]: winner winner chicken dinner.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a golf clap Terry.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was very nice.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was feeling like I was reading it too fast.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it wasn't good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, thank you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Beautiful.
[SPEAKER_03]: You liked it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Lovely.
[SPEAKER_03]: She is grace.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love you.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to like that first one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: She had it.
[SPEAKER_03]: She was that.
[SPEAKER_03]: God.
[SPEAKER_03]: The whole episode was genius.
[SPEAKER_03]: How they wrote your character and how you played it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was synergy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_00]: A little thick.
[SPEAKER_00]: High coup.
[SPEAKER_03]: The most condensed form of poetry.
[SPEAKER_00]: The most condensed form of poetry.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which is kind of what you are.
[SPEAKER_00]: God want.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're the most kind of the most.
[SPEAKER_00]: The most condensed form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of form of [SPEAKER_00]: Kira fuels to cuts revenge.
[SPEAKER_00]: New home for Ziya.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, nice.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_04]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_04]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Tell a play by Hans Bymler.
[SPEAKER_00]: Story by Tom Benco.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the editors.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_00]: Great story.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's sold a story.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good for him.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very, I'm proud of Tom.
[SPEAKER_00]: Directed by Jonathan West, the DP gets to finally direct to this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think first time he's direct.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
[SPEAKER_04]: And whoever he was such a good choice for it because who put a DP to make some sense of that one [SPEAKER_04]: basic room that we were in.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: And he did some interesting stuff in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Very well done.
[SPEAKER_00]: He sure did guest stars, Mark Alimo is called the caught.
[SPEAKER_00]: See a baton as Toraziel.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Robbie, if you remember, when we had Armin on the show, Armin told us that see it only did that very first episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: where he, uh, he saves her from the brain prison camp.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then she didn't continue.
[SPEAKER_00]: But evidently, she took into New York.
[SPEAKER_00]: She did one more and more and then she stopped.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he was kind of right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, the next appearance of Torah Ziaal is later in this season.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that is played.
[SPEAKER_00]: by Tracy Midendorf, the actress Tracy Midendorf.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then Tracy gives it up and then seasons five and six.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's another actress.
[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, I know that's Melanie Smith, who then portrays the y'all in six episodes throughout seasons five and six.
[SPEAKER_04]: I wish I knew the story, why they were, why that happened if she just got a job and went on.
[SPEAKER_04]: I thought she was so good in the episode.
[SPEAKER_06]: She's great.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was almost this naturalistic film kind of thing.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: Then it was like, wait a minute, does that fit?
[SPEAKER_04]: And then I thought, yeah, it does really, really, really.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: I loved her.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know what happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I want to reach out to her and ask her.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because she guessed art envoyager as well, Nanas.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we kind of [SPEAKER_00]: You know, got to know her a little bit there.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to make up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what we're thinking.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what we're thinking.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, not everyone can, you know, acclimate to that type of alien makeup all the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have Casey Biggs, of course, as Demar, this is Casey's very first appearance as Demar in this episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Initially, Casey was very disappointed with the part, which he felt any extra could have played, but then director Jonathan West told Casey that the writers had big plans for Demar and as such, West shot him as if he were a major character with plenty of close ups and reactions shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there you go.
[SPEAKER_04]: Interesting.
[SPEAKER_04]: There were a lot of hero shots of him.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So normally if that were just a day player or somebody, you know, and not have that control.
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, no.
[SPEAKER_00]: He also was on Enterprise in the episode damage as the Illurian captain.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we have one co-star that's John K.
Shaw, as Katamon, that would be our Clingon in this episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: He appeared in several episodes of TNG, DSline, and Voyager.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit of trivia.
[SPEAKER_00]: Tom Banco's original idea for this episode came from the question of what may happen if the Jews and the Nazis were forced to work together after World War II.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's part of his story, pitch and what they did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, in Hans Bimla's original teleplay, Dukat and Kira beam across to the Klingon ship, they overpower the bridge crew and subsequently pacify the entire ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: Director Jonathan West felt that this was a slightly ridiculous conclusion that viewers would never buy.
[SPEAKER_00]: One Kardashian and [SPEAKER_00]: One Bajoran, overpowering a ship of sixty-cling-on warriors, West, however, was unsure what to replace the fighting with until Assistant Director B.C.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cameron suggested that Kira and Dakot beam to engineering, take control of the transporters and switch crews.
[SPEAKER_00]: She and West approached her on her Steven Bear, who wasn't entirely happy about losing the Ashympac conclusion, but who acquiesced in the end.
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: bogged it that a little.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right, taking over that entire ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yes, Kira has to be a bit of a McGyver.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, figure things out.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love that part.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Rock Lofton and Armand Sherman do not appear in this episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Evidently, there was a deleted scene that Armand supposedly or cork goes to Kira saying, there's a cardacity and that owes me a lot of money from the bar.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you please track him down when you're over in the home world?
[SPEAKER_00]: So that got next, obviously.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, thank you for that trivia.
[SPEAKER_02]: I always love your trivia.
[SPEAKER_00]: But thank you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love that BC an assistant director was the one that pitched the the the transporter switch.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, but that's also, I think, maybe BC's knowledge of Trek, because that is what happens in Star Trek III.
[SPEAKER_00]: The search for Spock, the third Star Trek film, Kirk actually swamps.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, transport switches, crews, and then fires on his old ship and blows it up.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's very great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there it is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like a little homage to that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe BC had that in the back of her mind.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I watched it twice.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, did you?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because I was like, what do you have?
[SPEAKER_02]: What do you just know?
[SPEAKER_03]: What do they just do?
[SPEAKER_03]: I did.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I gotta see that again.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's also set up because, you know, you talk about the reason you're going to the conference that Kira's going is to share, you know, intelligence, intelligence and things like this, like playing on transport or code.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's hopefully it has that stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like this episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's jump in.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I did too.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, jumping into it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So our first scene is in the infirmary.
[SPEAKER_02]: Here is getting her vaccines, vaccinations, because she's going to this remote Kardashian outpost.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love this little detail with you and said the the the banter was great and you get your shots.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of shots by the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: How many are there like?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, for something.
[SPEAKER_03]: She has told me that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's a lot, a lot.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's, and I love worth coming in and looking at me as, as if I already have thrown up all over myself.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: You slightly disgusted by the entire thing.
[SPEAKER_04]: It does not want to be there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're, you're going to this outpost for the conference.
[SPEAKER_02]: We do learn from the previous episode that you and Chicago are [SPEAKER_02]: together that there's something, you know, real relationship.
[SPEAKER_02]: We just watched.
[SPEAKER_04]: How would that play today?
[SPEAKER_04]: The fact that I say someone high up in the government wants me and dying is made to make me go and do this thing.
[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, whoa, that's weird.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's a little weird.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's a little nineties right there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it does show us, because the last episode we saw was, it's the one where Odo, Odo is basically in love with you, and Chicago comes on the ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is crossfire.
[SPEAKER_00]: Crossfire, crossfire.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, the last episode did not, we saw crossfire was when Chicago comes on the ship and you two, this romance, even though you were terrorists together, this romance begins, and it's just breaking Odo's heart, and I love the episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I thought Renee did a phenomenal job and it was, it was just heartbreaking to see Odo, just suffering as you and Chicago are getting more and more romantic.
[SPEAKER_02]: But, uh, but this, but this carries that over, which I love about your show that your, your show, unlike Voyager, your show really continues these story threads in a great way.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Shikar buttered you up, got you to agree, and you're going to go share a clean-on intelligence, and Wurf comes in, says, you know what, you shouldn't share all the clean-on secrets, and gives her the secret pad of things not to share, I guess.
[SPEAKER_02]: And as that happens, we see that she's getting a little sick.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I love to run off to the bathroom.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my, where's that bathroom?
[SPEAKER_02]: Where's that bathroom?
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Lailing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Arms were, my, it was right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Back in her trailer.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's where I'm in this set.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm on the sound stage straight to the trailer.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love that physicality if you run though.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I noticed it and it was great.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was comedic and fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it was urgent.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was urgent.
[SPEAKER_00]: She had a barf, you know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it we all know that feeling.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, moment to get to where you're going moment for disaster.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you, what kind of shoes did you wear on the show?
[SPEAKER_02]: Could you run like people grew on, on, on voice, whenever Kate had to run, it was just, it wasn't pretty.
[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't great.
[SPEAKER_02]: He did not have a good run, but you're on this great.
[SPEAKER_04]: I could, I could, I can run in heels because, yeah, because I had to run on a rake stage.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, that's true.
[SPEAKER_04]: I can, I can, on a rake stage.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's a mean.
[SPEAKER_04]: What about being on point?
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, terrible.
[SPEAKER_04]: Just, that's just the worst.
[SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't great on point, but I did it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Of course you did.
[SPEAKER_02]: All that dance training pays off because your run out of the infirmary was amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: She has control over her body most of the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right, we got to Kira's quarters and the axe, Kira's packing up to caught her rives.
[SPEAKER_02]: to escort her.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we learn here.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's been demoted in Cardacia because of Zeal, his wife has left him, took the kids.
[SPEAKER_02]: But he says he doesn't blame Kira in this scene.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's his own fault.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he talks about how if someone had done that under his command, he would have done the same to them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So there is a little bit of integrity, I guess, that I was surprised by what's it caught.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he sort of takes responsibility.
[SPEAKER_04]: Is it is it that?
[SPEAKER_04]: Because is it?
[SPEAKER_04]: Is it integral or?
[SPEAKER_04]: the that he is completely ego driven and if he feels like you know he's got nothing to have ego about he's just like a ground zero with the rest of us because I think that's the great [SPEAKER_04]: arc that they do you go oh here he's kind of a broken man and he's being more honest and he's he's thoughtful and he doesn't blame her oh he's got a chance this could be redemption but then you see when he gets the chance to come back it's all wrong yeah yeah he does say at the end of this scene he says you know i'll get back everything i lost it's just a matter of time so he does set up his [SPEAKER_04]: And Mark, Alimo with the look in his eye, it's not a hopeful, happy thought.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a vengeful thought.
[SPEAKER_04]: So you, which is great.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's like some, because his face barely moves, but you know that's what he's thinking.
[SPEAKER_04]: Because his eyes tell you everything.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's so, he's so well written.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he plays it.
[SPEAKER_03]: masterfully.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, there's times you're like, I really like him.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to root for him and then he ruins it and you're [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we just have it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: He is a roller coaster ride.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so deceptive.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably when you talk about the integrity that you see rare, this rare integrity, it's also, let's just also keep in mind that Decott has always had the hotse for Kira.
[SPEAKER_00]: So everything he does is manipulative, I think, to try to make her [SPEAKER_00]: Join his bed in a way, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: So really, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he's a narcissist.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he's always aiming to come on top of all of it, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: He's the hero in his own mind.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: We interviewed Mark for the podcast.
[SPEAKER_02]: We did, we did for guest interview.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he did talk about how [SPEAKER_02]: That idea of he played a lot of villains and he said, I never played bad guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: I always my characters think they're the hero of the story.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's how I played Dukon.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: And that's what makes it so brilliant.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Our next shot is out in space and we get to see Dukon's freighter ship leaving.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just got to say this may be my favorite spaceship.
[SPEAKER_04]: So ugly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like a centipede.
[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like the gay centipede.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remember the centipede?
[SPEAKER_00]: You play.
[SPEAKER_00]: You got to shoot that thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if they designed it from the video.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure they did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you're right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Totally because it has this sort of [SPEAKER_03]: Also kind of Lego.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you're right.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's an ugly shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so ugly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's my favorite.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then that's close up.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: You my crow focus on an antenna.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's seeing all the scales.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, off they go, they leave DS nine.
[SPEAKER_02]: We cut inside to here's room her quarters there.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's working a bunch of pads, doorbell rings, and she goes and hides a pad.
[SPEAKER_02]: in a cubby hole.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it's y'all.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that pad must have been the one that worth gave you, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I was thinking.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: That sounds right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: But nothing really ever happens with it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Does it?
[SPEAKER_04]: No.
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, can you never make it to the comfort?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the weather.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: The comfort has been blown up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's never get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: That means nothing now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Zia all comes in and Kira hugs her nice, you know, reunion moment.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I did make a note in here and and Nana, you were talking about Cia, what's her name?
[SPEAKER_02]: Cia Baton.
[SPEAKER_02]: Cia Baton.
[SPEAKER_02]: I felt right out of the gate like she was so soft.
[SPEAKER_02]: It took me out tonally of the show a bit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Me too.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that you liked her a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I grew to like her more in this episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: But in this scene, I was like, [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, where's the energy?
[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like it didn't seem to match to me.
[SPEAKER_04]: It didn't.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was more of a film tone that she was doing this thing.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it took me a moment.
[SPEAKER_04]: But then I kind of liked it.
[SPEAKER_04]: And how I say later, I want to protect her.
[SPEAKER_04]: She does seem very vulnerable and not for our world.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, she does.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that work.
[SPEAKER_03]: One hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I agree with you, Robbie, it did take me out if felt just a little bit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Too soft.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I felt like acting more than naturalism and behavior.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because behaving can be soft, but it will still have levels in it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, style of acting.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: That felt like it didn't go with the show.
[SPEAKER_03]: To me.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a big close up.
[SPEAKER_04]: It closed up again.
[SPEAKER_00]: You did not have that note when she first was introduced as that character in the prior episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're fine with the acting there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't have much to do in the other episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: She did.
[SPEAKER_00]: She had a fight for her life.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remember?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And she had to go ahead if you just shoot me dad if I can't be with you.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to, you know, she had that one scene that I've seen in that.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that story it felt like she needed to be this vulnerable sacrificial lamb.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I bought it in that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Where is this?
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a big deal.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was just a small note, but I was just like, I did struggle with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a bullet, but I didn't bother me and it didn't pull me out.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, it pulls me out when that's happening.
[SPEAKER_03]: It feels like someone's holding back.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And if she's that connected to Kira, it felt like that kind of, that wall would, being protective wouldn't, yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: And if anything, the wall would go back up around the other people in the station, not, but not around another woman.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's never around women.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is she?
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, she's on a ship with her dad all the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that could do it right there.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I felt it right.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a connection like, oh my gosh, another woman.
[SPEAKER_03]: You see me in a different way.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I also felt like the softness felt a little bit like it was covering.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was expecting her to turn on Carol later on.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was so protective in the scenes with you, especially early on that I was like, [SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's [SPEAKER_03]: but it wasn't the same.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there was something in this scene in particular, but it does get better for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, Terry, yes, if she should have been much more relaxed when she sees Kira because, Kira is the reason why she's alive.
[SPEAKER_00]: Without Kira, the con was going to kill her.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like, yeah, they were she said.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm safe.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the one woman.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the one person who gets me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And if that layer was added, it would have been a more complete performance for sure.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And especially that she was so harshly ostracized.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, she says she wasn't.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't get that.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't get that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she says I wasn't welcome by the Kardashians when I got back home.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So now I just go wherever my dad goes.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's my only family.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that and it's building.
[UNKNOWN]: And it's still caught.
[SPEAKER_03]: But that's the ability and that damage.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then when you see a mother figure.
[SPEAKER_03]: a big sister and auntie.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's something that overwhelms you emotionally, the relief to have that support with you.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I think instead of being that very airy fairy kind of vibe, I think it would have been much more kind of the connection with you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it would have helped your story, too, no, no.
[SPEAKER_02]: If that had been an actress who just had life came alive when she saw Kira.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira, the protector and take her back to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was her hero.
[SPEAKER_02]: That could have helped the story about it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but I can see it a couple of different ways.
[SPEAKER_04]: I liked her performance because she did seem like she was in a shell, but after all, that's what trauma does.
[SPEAKER_04]: And if this girl is in traumatized, who is?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she was a prisoner for ten years, whatever it was, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to kill her.
[SPEAKER_04]: Traveling the world with the right.
[SPEAKER_03]: So naturally, she's protecting herself.
[SPEAKER_04]: He can't find herself anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's just, oh, wait a point.
[SPEAKER_04]: And she's also one of which she, she's who is she her identity, herself identity.
[SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't know.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so I buy the behind glass thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, now that we've completely unpacked the character of the art.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll move on.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's an alarm.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's like, what is that?
[SPEAKER_00]: See a batten if you're listening.
[SPEAKER_00]: We still love you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please don't.
[SPEAKER_00]: Of course we don't.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's more about character.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not personal.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's not assassination on her.
[SPEAKER_03]: Either it's directed to do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: So there's an alarm.
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's like, what is that?
[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on?
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a freighter.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he also says it's a battle drill.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Kira, you know, rightly so, goes, wait, this is a freighter.
[SPEAKER_02]: Why are you giving a battle drill?
[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, do caught has to do some battle exercises.
[SPEAKER_02]: We cut up the bridge.
[SPEAKER_02]: The phasers are taking a long time to charge.
[SPEAKER_02]: We realize this is an exercise to blow up an asteroid.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not much of a threat, but it's a target.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: We took a long time to get these phasers.
[SPEAKER_02]: warmed up and we meet Casey Biggs for the first time on the show.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: What a handsome Kardashian.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Such a handsome man.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's ridiculous.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't even put makeup on him to make him ugly.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's so [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, serious dirty devil.
[SPEAKER_03]: I discovered a GQ for Cardassio.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's in my missing scene.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did notice.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did notice no KC in this Cardassio makeup.
[SPEAKER_02]: More than once I saw him kind of he was talking and then he would do this.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if the nose was bothering him.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was itchy.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he would.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's latex and I have been allergy to latex and it or sensitivity.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, and it makes you feel itchy when you have a sensitivity.
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw it a few times.
[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't make it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody is like, oh, first time with that makeup on better get used to it, Casey.
[SPEAKER_04]: And even in this first episode, you see how his character really doesn't like Kira.
[SPEAKER_04]: We had very little to do together, but he the way he would look at my character.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, oh, you just don't want her here.
[SPEAKER_04]: You're one of those Kardashians.
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't want to be alone with him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting, because we don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Gary, I do not know where the Haseys character [SPEAKER_02]: goes.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's interesting what you're saying.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, because I didn't really work with him and you know when I know him outside to make up.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it never really clicked to he was in the story.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you're going to see Terry.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so excited.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to see together.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira does suggest using the Anadine capacitor to speed up these phaser, the phaser loading and do conscious snapsitter.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, we don't have that.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's very, we don't want to know those.
[SPEAKER_02]: He hates this freighter.
[SPEAKER_02]: He wants to be in a warship.
[SPEAKER_02]: But then he apologizes for snapping at her and turns it around.
[SPEAKER_02]: He invites her to dinner.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like it's, you know, traditional for the captain too.
[SPEAKER_02]: host a guest so.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira Grease for be it for me.
[SPEAKER_03]: I tell you my but cheek squeeze when then after I would like oh no no no no no don't go don't go.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think she only I actually only agreed because she looked back at Z y'all and Z y'all was like please have dinner with my pop up and she's like I know it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: She can handle it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so we're in the state room dinner is happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: Guess what?
[SPEAKER_00]: But Jordan Springwine is on the menu.
[SPEAKER_00]: Something that Kira did not expect to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Last bottle.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they have a nice little conversation, but the caught immediately starts playing these little mind games talking about Chikar, you know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, what's this I hear about this guy, you know?
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, it looks like he like powerful people.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it just it's the beginning of him trying to just trying to to blur her manipulate her to come over to his side.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good little.
[SPEAKER_04]: I really like the way Kira just keeps eating.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's like this is a good meal taking advantage.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to do that.
[SPEAKER_04]: You've got me.
[SPEAKER_04]: But I'm having this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was trying to figure out what you guys were wanting.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was trying to figure out what you were eating.
[SPEAKER_02]: It looked like melon slices or something.
[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't tell what it was.
[SPEAKER_04]: I couldn't either.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't remember.
[SPEAKER_04]: But it sure looked like shrimp or something.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe shrimp.
[SPEAKER_04]: Unpeal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: I was peeling something.
[SPEAKER_04]: It could have been shrimp.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yeah, Cardassian shrimp.
[SPEAKER_00]: We love it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so Chicago, Chicago is definitely someone that Dakota's jealous of.
[SPEAKER_00]: He talks about the intelligence file that he kept on him during the occupation is filled with reports of his conquest in bed.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm thinking, really, that's in your intelligence report.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a little weird.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that there?
[SPEAKER_00]: To the characters.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's another alarm at the end of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Another alarm, but this is not a battle drill, so they leave and head for the freighter bridge, or what would you call it, the...
Centre Gate Bridge.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, please.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Love the centipede ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they head off to the bridge, and they have arrived at the outpost, but we realize they scan, they realize it's been destroyed.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's not a single life sign.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then suddenly this cling-on-ship, unclokes, [SPEAKER_02]: and do caught.
[SPEAKER_02]: I literally said when it unclosed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Love this.
[SPEAKER_02]: It unclosed and I said out loud as I'm watching cling on and then he repeated it.
[SPEAKER_04]: That should be like me, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: That I know exactly who they were.
[SPEAKER_04]: He might as well have gone clinging on.
[SPEAKER_00]: We should record every Star Trek actor saying that.
[SPEAKER_00]: He did it pretty perfectly.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that any of us.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was good.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the cling-ons are now scanning the sentipede ship and they realize there's no threat from the sentipede ship because they enjoyed playing sentipede on the cling-on-homeworld as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's one of the favorite video games.
[SPEAKER_00]: Who doesn't know?
[SPEAKER_00]: Who doesn't know?
[SPEAKER_00]: Who doesn't know?
[SPEAKER_00]: Who doesn't know?
[SPEAKER_00]: Who doesn't know?
[SPEAKER_00]: Donkey Kong.
[SPEAKER_00]: Donkey Kong was fun to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Donkey Kong was fun to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's funny.
[SPEAKER_03]: Last night, new game.
[SPEAKER_02]: What?
[SPEAKER_02]: A new Donkey Kong?
[SPEAKER_03]: Donkey Kong?
[SPEAKER_02]: New Donkey Kong?
[SPEAKER_03]: And how do I know?
[SPEAKER_03]: How?
[SPEAKER_02]: because you have a son.
[SPEAKER_03]: Baker.
[SPEAKER_03]: Who said, Mom, can I have a treat?
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're gaming son?
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: He started playing it last night.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's like over the moon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, the clinging on's turn around and they start, they start leaving.
[SPEAKER_00]: They power down their weapons.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't even have their shields on to caught things.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is absolutely awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: And a front to him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's right there.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's right in fire, phasers.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Kira is the voice of reason.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what are you doing?
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a centipede ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: It does nothing to anybody, okay?
[SPEAKER_00]: So please don't fire on him.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is going to just ask for trouble.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not the right time.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not the fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: Choose your battles wisely.
[SPEAKER_00]: Decott doesn't care.
[SPEAKER_00]: He fires and sure enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: That phaser does absolutely nothing to a clingon ship that doesn't even have shields on.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's very embarrassing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then that's when the clingon ship turns around.
[SPEAKER_00]: Decott's now scared.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, put everything into the shields.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as the cling on ship starts to bear down upon the centipede ship it just veers off and that's it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just goes to warp.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a nice shot.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's hair should have blown like the, like, as they spin over like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: On the grid.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like the max L ads.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like the, yeah, you remember those ads.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: The cool guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: But for the young people listening in the eighties, Maxwell cassette tapes had these magazine ads with super cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, said it was a great graphic.
[SPEAKER_02]: Very miniatures.
[SPEAKER_02]: The eighties.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a big speaker.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's sitting across from the speaker.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he's leaning back and his hair is going back.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the sound is just [SPEAKER_03]: penetrating him and moving through him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but it here is like moving with the sound, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it goes with the sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, [SPEAKER_00]: Just the thought of seeing the, uh, the clingonship come overhead and then cut right back to the bridge of both of the, yeah, to cut and care sitting there with their hair blown back like the, yes, very funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Cara does, uh, does say she's got an idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: They could make sure the clingons don't get away with this.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they can use one of the remaining disruptors from the outpost and make some alterations and put it on the freighter.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's her idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: How many genius ideas does she have in this though?
[SPEAKER_03]: A lot.
[SPEAKER_03]: Amazing.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so great.
[SPEAKER_04]: They give you so much power.
[SPEAKER_04]: My old freedom fighter days come into life.
[SPEAKER_04]: I try to teach him to stop thinking like a, you know, like a bureaucrat.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and it looks like you're, you know, willingly helping him until we, you have to remind ourselves you also have a stake in your own survival with this crazy guy who's a lunatic should be so hurt.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean and Curtis wouldn't care about that but even so and what Cara has been through to for you to even stand in the same room same ship with him on the white is just remarkable growth for Carrie.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it really is yeah, it is all right.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they're in the cargo hold right now [SPEAKER_00]: They're standing there, they're looking around and the cops very skeptical because he says these disruptors, they weren't meant to be on a ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're meant to be on land.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're massive.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot of recoil, like what are they going to do?
[SPEAKER_00]: And Kira becomes McGyver again.
[SPEAKER_00]: We clear out the entire cargo hold.
[SPEAKER_00]: We stick the disruptor in here.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, well, what do we do with the cargo?
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, get rid of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just dump it all.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and she asked to remind him, I look, I get it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You make a percentage off the cargo, but this is not the time to hold on to the old traditions.
[SPEAKER_03]: We got to let it go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's very impressed with you at the end.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've got a lot to learn from you, is what he says.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he sure does.
[SPEAKER_03]: He has way more than he realized.
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't we all?
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying we all have a lot to learn from Kira.
[SPEAKER_04]: But that was a very vulnerable moment for Ducat.
[SPEAKER_04]: That was like, wow, I'm even buying it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it didn't seem sincere.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: It really did.
[SPEAKER_04]: It really did.
[SPEAKER_02]: It really did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, [SPEAKER_04]: You know, slow undertone in this speech, and I'm staccato, and it's kind of interesting together.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the symphony of music that you two make.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I get it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Back on the bridge, they're testing the disruptor on an asteroid like they did before with the phasers.
[SPEAKER_02]: asteroid goes boom but here's not happy it needs an improving because there's some plasma leaks and the recoil things like that so they go to repair the plasma leaks and cure works on her pads and things like that while do caught just [SPEAKER_04]: her consoles and pads on the computer right computer stuff which which was brilliant because I noticed that it gave Jonathan the opportunity to not only get us in different positions in one scene with very limited you know it was all kind of just dark but it also made do caught follow kira [SPEAKER_04]: And then that was, so I went, oh, that's why I've got a pad.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was nice because I noticed in this scene, his eyes were on you constantly.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was following you and delivering right to you and you were not paying attention.
[SPEAKER_03]: you were doing your job and it it made for a nice contrast as opposed to just standing there looking at each other talking with us would have been deadly yeah and I liked the darkness it was a rich I loved it too yeah it was so rich and and deep um not only what you guys were going through making it happen but just the energy being dark and [SPEAKER_03]: kind of creepy and at the same time weirdly safe because it did.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, literally it was so film-nourished.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Really love that.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's some nice banter in here, back and forth, definitely between Dakot and Kira.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a lot of, again, Dakot trying to get into the mind of Kira.
[SPEAKER_00]: And sort of saying that Chikar is not that great of a guy saying, I can't believe you.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's a lumbering, simplistic field hand, is what Dakot calls.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's so jealous, and he wants to be Mr.
Kira that he wants to say everything against Chikar.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my God.
[SPEAKER_02]: But he says they make an excellent team.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he brings this up more than once in the episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: What a great team they make.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: And she's not interested in teammates within.
[SPEAKER_02]: And she calls him out and says, all you care about is your position with the card-assing government.
[SPEAKER_02]: Basically, this is all you go driven.
[SPEAKER_02]: So she sees it.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's calling him on it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought you did a great job.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, in this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: She says, she's a good guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: uh...
should uh...
dunk in reggae he's awfully handsome that's what you see that's what episode so do i yes so in a really big i call it six four eight when Terry said he's so handsome uh...
in the prior episode there is a scene where that's yes [SPEAKER_00]: He's so handsome.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's so good looking.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why didn't you tell me?
[SPEAKER_00]: He's so handsome.
[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, I said, this is like a WB teen angst episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it was so.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was no sci-fi involved.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was all.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, like, oh my god.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wish I could be just like Shikar and date Kira and it was so sad.
[SPEAKER_04]: Good.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he didn't, he didn't stand up and say, I love how he did know he should have said something.
[SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, he could transform himself into anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: He could.
[SPEAKER_04]: He couldn't get the faces down.
[SPEAKER_04]: I guess that's what we were led to believe.
[SPEAKER_04]: He can do a perfect eagle or something.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right, but I can't do a human face.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder what that has something to do with his own reflection of who he is.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if he doesn't know exactly who he is, maybe he can't produce it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Very incitementary.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish there was an episode where Oda decided to transform himself into Fabio to impress.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then how Fabio could have guessed it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh.
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, hello, hello, Kira.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not butter.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's what he's going to say.
[SPEAKER_03]: How about golf lung, golf lung, both have like, German accents.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can do that too.
[SPEAKER_03]: She can do anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: So on the bridge, she shuts him down and says stick to business.
[SPEAKER_02]: All you care about is yourself.
[SPEAKER_02]: And she goes back to work.
[SPEAKER_02]: He goes back to test the weapon.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we tried.
[SPEAKER_00]: He did, he did.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are now in a state room, and Kira is showing Ziaal all the pluses and minuses of the two weapons that she is, you know, kind of displaying her dacian and starfleet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a little bit of trivia here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kira is analysis of the starfleet type three phaser rifle versus the Kardacian disruptor rifle.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mirrors the real world debate in military circles between the American M-Sixine and the Soviet AK-Fourty-Seven rifles.
[SPEAKER_04]: That is super cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is super cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: It really is.
[SPEAKER_04]: I have a really, I mean, it's so I watching that scene, I went, oh, that's probably.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was in some, I don't know what game it is.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my God.
[SPEAKER_04]: But in again, I'm not.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's in some game five years ago or something.
[SPEAKER_00]: Star Trek online.
[SPEAKER_04]: Star Trek online, maybe no, I don't think so.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, it was another game.
[SPEAKER_04]: It had nothing to do with Star Trek.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I play an arms dealer where I describe all these weapons.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I did it in my house, you know, with the equipment because it was during the pandemic.
[SPEAKER_03]: I remember this now.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And back in that apartment.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I felt so sad because it was so hard.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it was like, what weapon I have to say, what about this one?
[SPEAKER_04]: It took me forever.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I thought maybe they saw this scene and Star Trek and thought, Oh, she'll be good at this.
[SPEAKER_02]: You were good at this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I remember.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was COVID.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's when I was bringing you guys bread.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it was that house.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it was that house.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I remember just the statement that they mailed it to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was night.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was the the the the motion sensor stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: All the motion caps did at home.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I was having a massive breakdown going, I don't know how to work all these computers that they sent me.
[SPEAKER_04]: But I think they saw this scene and when she's perfect for this.
[SPEAKER_02]: You were great in this.
[SPEAKER_02]: You were great in this, you described it.
[SPEAKER_04]: Not in the game, poor poor guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: Basically, the Cardassian rifle is like a tank, but it's very simple.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the Starfleet rifle is super high tech, more powerful, but really complicated.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm setting her up to protect herself if we get boarded.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: So it's amping up the tension of this is truly, this is going to be bad.
[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't feel that urgency though.
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I've seen [SPEAKER_03]: helped amp that up.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, it gave me the information.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, they could be boarded, but I didn't feel like the fear from her from all.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Rubby, you may mention about the Starfleet weapon being more powerful.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is actually the Cardassian weapon that is a little bit more powerful than the Starfleet one.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just wanted to go that out there.
[SPEAKER_05]: What?
[SPEAKER_02]: Federation center.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's a little less.
[SPEAKER_00]: Less powerful.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got more options.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got more options.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which means more more more more more more more options means more chances to mess up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: But also it means the Kardashians want to just kill someone with it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we have options to stun you to [SPEAKER_03]: right there's we have all these other we don't that's it's literally running kill everybody yeah tell you a bedtime story a little fantasy play [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, start from the weapons.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's also fan-loader.
[SPEAKER_02]: Fan-loading, like, air on you with your wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet wet [SPEAKER_02]: And Zeal points out everybody did bad things, even you did bad things, like it was a war.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which I think landed on you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the argument, the debate that you have here about morals, you know, injustice and all that.
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a good, it was a well-written scene in that level, and she did a great job and so to do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_03]: I liked it when I got to the meat of it, too.
[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because it reminded me that carrot did things she regretted.
[SPEAKER_03]: And, or not maybe, I don't know, more complicated you're sitting here right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes it's a necessary evil to kill someone, but it stays with you as our characters discussed in an episode.
[SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember it was the first or second season, but yeah, that she has to live with that.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's, I think even in just, it's just natural easier to look at someone else and say, you cross the line for getting when you actually, yourself cross the line.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, but there's also, there's also the power dynamic that you go well, but joins were just defending themselves.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you say that in the scene.
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, so right.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_04]: They were the aggressor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's totally different.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the old.
[SPEAKER_03]: Corrected.
[SPEAKER_03]: because also true.
[SPEAKER_02]: That is true.
[SPEAKER_02]: He all does say that her father regrets the thing, you know, he feels bad about those things.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that line.
[SPEAKER_00]: When she also says, but when I look at my father, I have a hard time seeing a murderer and curis says, and when I look at him, I have a hard time seeing anything else.
[SPEAKER_03]: So some nice, uh, yeah, it doesn't that just hit the nail on the head.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hans was just such a great writer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mr.
Bimler.
[SPEAKER_03]: He certainly wrote great for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: He had your voice.
[SPEAKER_04]: He really multi-layered for sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira does say the end of the scene.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's never going to forgive to God.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: She just won't.
[SPEAKER_02]: And let's focus on the rifles.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get back to these rifles.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, nice scene.
[SPEAKER_02]: We go back to the bridge, Kira and Dukhara trying to decide where the clean-on ship might go next.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're looking at maps and all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: Dukhara says, LaValle is the perfect spot.
[SPEAKER_02]: And clearly, they've got better intelligence than we thought because they knew about this conference and that outposts.
[SPEAKER_00]: We also find out LaValle is a secret weapons manufacturer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Plant from Dukhara.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so that would be the perfect place for them to go now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Kira says, well, we've got to lure them in.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've got to figure out a way to lure them in, then we can take one good shot.
[SPEAKER_02]: and DuCats says, well, we could modify our subspace, transceiver to emit a false dial with the crystal signal.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're brainstorming here.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're workshopping together, and they do workshop well together.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're good team.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're great spitballers, and they're doing it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and they know what they're talking about.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And each one is enhancing the others.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Intelligents information.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira agrees, he again says, see, we make a good team, so he keeps pushing that drum.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's trying to convince her.
[SPEAKER_03]: He do better feed, take his foot off the pedal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Play a little eloof for goodness sake, man.
[SPEAKER_00]: Stop saying how great of a pair we make, stop it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Take him stride.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please, stride.
[SPEAKER_02]: He says something like, you've got to learn to take a compliment and she says, oh, I can take a compliment.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's just not for me.
[SPEAKER_02]: From you.
[SPEAKER_02]: have a hard time accepting confidence for me.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: A little time passes.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're at level this this secret weapons place.
[SPEAKER_02]: They do modify the signal for the dilatium things.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we're waiting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do caught his board.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's leaning back in his chair.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's bored.
[SPEAKER_02]: He talks about Gol Marat, who was a ladies man, compares them to Chicago here.
[SPEAKER_02]: just a smooth talker, send him to the icy cold of bringing, if he ever gets, you know, if Ducada ever gets any power back, he's going to take care of that goal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he believes Goal Marat is sleeping with his wife right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why.
[SPEAKER_00]: So.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which sort of [SPEAKER_02]: Reminds us, the goal to cut has evolved.
[SPEAKER_02]: He may be growing and evolving in some ways, but he's still pretty unavolved in a lot of ways, too.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and most of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's evolved in that he's not going to kill Dolmurad.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just going to send him to Siberia.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of evolved.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's not murdering.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's not in front of him right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that would change what he sees him in person.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Think about the end.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Cling on ship to cloaks.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, well, he's talking.
[SPEAKER_02]: This worked.
[SPEAKER_02]: This plan seems to be working.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we get some cool space shots.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like the CGI ships.
[SPEAKER_02]: We talked to Brian Fisher who was a visual effects guy on [SPEAKER_02]: on DS nine during this time and how these CGI ships were you guys were cutting edge all of these ships the defiant these clean on ships you were going from models into CGI [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought this particular shot really amplified that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, and Robbie, was that at the beginning of the fourth season?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because someone asked me over the weekend when we switched.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like, I think it's the fourth season because I remember Robbie saying something.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, Garrett, was that what Brian was saying?
[SPEAKER_02]: Or maybe Garrett you did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean it's literally the when did when was the defiant introduced was it season three or was it season three?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, is that something three?
[SPEAKER_00]: It was the end of three and of three then probably Yeah, I started swit making that yeah, it wasn't when the defiant came out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was one of the first.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's when it was they went to your C G and then they started converting everything to C G.
So what's crazy?
[SPEAKER_00]: Then Brian Fisher was an it just an intern he just got this intern job and he sat down and he'd literally figured out how to [SPEAKER_00]: had a code, everything, so it could be CG.
[SPEAKER_00]: He couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn't even, he couldn [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, young, young intern boy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there's a lot of things, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: You can create it for yourself.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we see that the clean on ship is there.
[SPEAKER_02]: They did lure them in, the clean on scan them, the pop on screen, a clean on named Kataman.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how you pronounce it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good to make.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good to make.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good to make.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good to make.
[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like he asked what what's your cargo and do content says always just replicator, transporter parts, no big deal.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he's lying or well, he's playing a part.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: The thing on says, you're lying to me and he says he's going to confiscate their entire cargo and the whole ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, with the ship, yeah, the whole ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: Take everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then Robbie, I want to see you playing a cling-on.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: We could be clinging on brothers together, actually.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I could talk like that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Although, Doran doesn't talk like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we could be like the clinging on.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're doing that's like a the original series clinging on.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Robbie, you and I are clinging on odd couple.
[SPEAKER_00]: Clingon comedy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Clingon comedy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, it's the back to me you guys come back to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Paramount Plus presents.
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: The odd couple, clean up.
[SPEAKER_03]: You do not want to wear that makeup.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're trackering them in.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's getting closer, closer, closer, closer.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they fire, direct hit, knock out the cling on.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then the dead in the water, it worked.
[SPEAKER_02]: The big disruptor shot.
[SPEAKER_02]: They call for shields up.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then the cling on the fire back.
[SPEAKER_02]: And on this freighter, it's not made for this kind of battle.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it is a big hit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Good action stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think maybe somebody says, oh, Demar says, both shields are down to twenty percent.
[SPEAKER_02]: We cannot take another hit.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, right.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like we're a semi and the clingsons are a tank.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so we're not even a semi.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a centipede ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remember.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's a new year.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're in a U hall.
[SPEAKER_00]: It gets a sermon tank.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's different.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: To God does say, I think it's time to improvise, which means he and [SPEAKER_00]: Kira clearly said what do we do we're gonna beam over we're gonna beam over to the cling on ship and they start you know and again this is the original story idea there's supposed to be mover and beat up all sixty five everybody but instead they beat up to which is which is much more realistic much more sense yeah for some very engineering and did it well [SPEAKER_00]: Kira and get it well and did it well Kira knows exactly what to do and she knows the clingon transporter codes and I just I have one question.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know if you guys noticed this but as to caught and Kira beam in yeah, and the clingon stands up.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think do caught fires at the clingon and shoots right in his clingon presence [SPEAKER_02]: I did not, literally.
[SPEAKER_04]: He noticed that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: He shoots him.
[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't shoot him in the chest or the shoulder.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is literally.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's right in the hole.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's right in the hole.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can see the actual beam going on.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go back to see if it's who has his hit.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you that's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's where they're going.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's [SPEAKER_02]: yeah smart move take them out in the in the privates and then here goes to work on this console we don't know exactly what she's doing give me a minute and back in the clingon bridge they're about to destroy the freighter yes and blow it up when suddenly they transport off off their clingon bridge and on to the freighter bridge they're faced the wrong way it's very funny here a switch the cruise and do caught decides to hit the [SPEAKER_02]: fire button now and blows the freighter up killing all the clangons.
[SPEAKER_02]: Dirty.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: And Kira says, was that necessary?
[SPEAKER_00]: You're the terrorist.
[SPEAKER_00]: You tell me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they've destroyed the freighter and all the clangons are dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira's not happy about it, but she does find all the clangons plans [SPEAKER_02]: for their priorities, for the fleet, all the cling on fleets.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they know what the clingons are planning and do caught us thrilled with this.
[SPEAKER_02]: He feels like he's won the prize.
[SPEAKER_02]: He wants to speak to the chairman of the [SPEAKER_02]: to tap a council himself.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think he'll regain all of his status, which is what he said in the very beginning, that first thing, he's going to reclaim everything I want to do.
[SPEAKER_04]: But you see the Egotistical Mania that he's in as all of this.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's vengeance.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to get back and get everybody.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's that kind of craziness.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, a little later, we're on the bridge of the Klingon ship with all of our Cardassian and Starfleet friends.
[SPEAKER_02]: Tomorrow, Casey Biggs goes to help zeal with some repairs and leaves.
[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a great reveal of DuCott in the dark in this sort of doorway silhouette.
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was one of my favorite shots of the series.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was so cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's not happy because the council does not want him to fight anymore.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he's pissed about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he basically feels like he's the only Cardassian left that wants to fight.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've all gone soft and he'll just have to do this all himself.
[SPEAKER_02]: So his ego is just off the charts at this point.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, he's, they gave him back his position, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: It gave him back his position to be the military military advisor, but they don't want to go to war.
[SPEAKER_03]: So what's the point of him having this all back because they basically castrated him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a shell of the former job, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just a what it be.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just a position in title alone.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, title only, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: We're just going to keep it quiet over there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can do paperwork.
[UNKNOWN]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kira talks tries to talk him out of this fight to caught his very passionate though.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's ready to fight for a true cause and he says I need you we are great team again He's like yeah, we've got to stay together and she says no and he says I know you're a fighter or you're not a bureaucrat.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're meant to do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Join me [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's a wonderful speech.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a great speech.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is, especially if he were a, had good character, it would be great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he says I know there's a part of you that, there's a big part of you that's saying no, no, no, but there's a little part that wants to do this and listen to that part.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's great when he's talking to Kara, is that you're not sure you can't read what you're thinking.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's like, yeah, she's going.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, did you feel that way?
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, when you were watching it, that you were playing sort of this being torn or I did, I felt very good.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was great for us because we didn't know what you were thinking.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was I was watching this man spin spin out.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: I was that that's what I was doing and knowing where it will lead probably and knowing [SPEAKER_04]: the horror and yeah, I don't think that I, and for me, I was never going, wow, is he right?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I read into that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's just the lack, like you were mostly listening.
[SPEAKER_02]: I read into that because his speech was so convincing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he's going to do this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe she is.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So into this next scene when we go in the corridor and see all's got this knife and she's like, hey, practice knife fighting with me and you drop her to the floor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Stay out of a fight if you want to live.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was tomorrow who showed her this little trick of how to a knife fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: But of course this instruction was faulty clearly because not.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you drop her to the floor and you're like, to stay out of a fight if you want to stay safe.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you're not ready for this.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's actually, it became a pretty well-known line.
[SPEAKER_04]: The best way to stay out of a knife fight is to never get in one.
[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But Kira does agree that Zia'll needs her help because Zia'll saying, I need you to train me because if this ship gets boarded or [SPEAKER_00]: I have to fight beside my father.
[SPEAKER_00]: I need to know how to do this.
[SPEAKER_04]: Wait, I need to go back because I miss cooking the line that people will know.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's the best way to survive a knife fight is to never get in one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's it.
[SPEAKER_02]: There it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: That is the line.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking.
[SPEAKER_03]: You feel clenched.
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel clenched.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do too.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's that.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, in last weekend, because I watched the episode on the plane ride to New Orleans.
[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't, did not sign something with that quote on it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, that is so clever.
[SPEAKER_03]: I saw that in a movie.
[SPEAKER_03]: What movie did I see?
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm serious.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was not thinking deep space night at the beach.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then I'm like, for all of you.
[SPEAKER_03]: I saw it on the plane.
[SPEAKER_03]: I saw it on the plane.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not so stupid.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not so amazing for each fan.
[SPEAKER_00]: She has a random movie quote that she writes down on every, every photo.
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you like that?
[SPEAKER_03]: Seriously.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did think though at the end of this scene and all when she says to you, um, whatever it takes, I'll do it, but I'm going to need your help that it was a bit of a light bulb moment for Kira because she came off that conversation with you, caught where she's [SPEAKER_02]: We haven't gotten an answer from her, yes or no.
[SPEAKER_02]: And in this moment, it's like, no, I know what I need to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's how I read this performance.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was her aha moment.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was an aha moment.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: I think that is where I went.
[SPEAKER_02]: She shouldn't be here.
[SPEAKER_02]: She should not be here.
[SPEAKER_02]: And neither should I like went to go back.
[SPEAKER_02]: to a better life.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is not where we belong.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is why I'm really here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really here to save this girl.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the next scene is back in the bridge, Kira explicitly says no to do cod.
[SPEAKER_02]: She says, you know, she's been in this fight before.
[SPEAKER_02]: She talks about how it eats you alive and she doesn't want to do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: She doesn't want that anymore.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you do get, I like that you were [SPEAKER_02]: able to think about complicated things that care was able to think about complicated things and say, this is not for me.
[SPEAKER_02]: It eats me alive.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I get why I get why you need to do this.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was honoring both herself and honoring him in a way, even though he didn't.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can't stand that.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're truth.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's his truth and she's in her truth and they don't go together.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kira does sort of fight for Zeyaal's survival as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's when she says, look, this is not the life for Zeyaal.
[SPEAKER_00]: And to Cotsite, what do you why are you so concerned about?
[SPEAKER_00]: And Kira says, because I see myself in her and I don't want her to go through all the things that I had to go through all the experiences and all the horrible things that I had to see basically, I want her to be away from that.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's an interesting when Garrett just said that it hadn't occurred to me before, but when Kira says, I see myself in her, this soft, innocent, vulnerable, zeal character we've seen, is that how you imagined Kira before the, oh, I never thought about that.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just thought she was always strong and tough.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that he was exactly what I thought.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Kira's born before the occupation began.
[SPEAKER_00]: So of course, she had a line before that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, that's profound.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Dakota, Dakota's actually shocked that you've even made that offer to bring her to the station, but it's the one that's to bring it to a creepy note, of course.
[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
[SPEAKER_04]: where now we are connected forever.
[SPEAKER_04]: Like we have this trial together.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was confusing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you guys get back to DSNINE on the bridge to Cotsang goodbye to Zell and he does say, well, now we're tied together whether you like not tied together forever.
[SPEAKER_02]: We like it or not.
[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't get creepy there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: Why tied?
[SPEAKER_04]: Whether you like it or not, that's why I tied you up.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's when Kira says to everyone.
[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't end.
[SPEAKER_00]: Decaught says, please, it's me, major.
[SPEAKER_00]: It gives me reason to live.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which is even more creepy.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: He just delivers it so perfectly.
[SPEAKER_03]: He does.
[SPEAKER_03]: He does.
[SPEAKER_03]: He does.
[SPEAKER_03]: He does.
[SPEAKER_03]: He loves his voice too.
[SPEAKER_03]: His voice is so powerful as do caught.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, it's like his evil is Serapy sweet.
[SPEAKER_03]: Honey comes off like honey out of his voice.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just so crazy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And articulation and all of that is so.
[SPEAKER_02]: polished and it's lovely.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just lovely.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like music the way he speaks.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's tone and quality of his voice is excellent.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he doesn't play the villain.
[SPEAKER_00]: You see them saying he plays on his own.
[SPEAKER_04]: So he's so far away.
[SPEAKER_04]: You some some actors who have voices like that can use that as their performance.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: and just have that be their performance.
[SPEAKER_04]: But he's got that voice and he is emotionally present in there.
[SPEAKER_04]: So he's like, you know, when you see Shakespearean actors and they're really great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: And it's like not just parroting the words.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: He's like that.
[SPEAKER_04]: I can't believe we had him in our show.
[SPEAKER_04]: So amazing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, fans have asked me recently, I conventions, who are your favorite, you know, characters, and other than listing series, regulars, I always say to caught, I throw to caught in there every time.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's a real bad guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's a real bad guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Who does well?
[SPEAKER_00]: Who I think is who we're effective on this show, and he's definitely one of those actors.
[SPEAKER_02]: And to refer back to what Garrett was saying before, Mark and I'm a group who was constant, I think, tough life, blue collar from all I could gather from our conversation.
[SPEAKER_02]: on a path to trouble.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then the theater and this particular theater teacher, professor, person at the community college or something, got him doing Shakespeare scenes.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it was.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he didn't come to that.
[SPEAKER_02]: that speech, that style of speech because of Wisconsin and Atom.
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: Life, he came through Shakespeare and this community theater professor, and he did a lot of Shakespeare.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he worked at it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you can feel that polish that Shakespeare work gave him.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Storytelling, it saves lives.
[SPEAKER_03]: It really does.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It does.
[SPEAKER_03]: Art, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Are any form of art?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, saves lives.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It does.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Kira saved Ziaul's life and they are watching the Berterpray fly away and leave and here it goes to show her quarters.
[SPEAKER_02]: When Odo approaches, a bit confused.
[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on?
[SPEAKER_02]: And Kira says, I'll tell you all about it later.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Odo, they walk off and it's a nice high wide shot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Jonathan West did a great job to finish the episode with a beautiful shot of the promenade.
[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's all episode.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, there is return to excellent job, no, no.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: Not surprised because that's the champion work you bring every episode, but this episode was so much fun to watch you in.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was, it was really uplifted for me.
[SPEAKER_03]: You see, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: By the actors, this is an active episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: This wasn't, this wasn't shot making or clever writing in my opinion.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was all about the performance of [SPEAKER_02]: of you and Mark Alarmol.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good job.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good job in this app.
[SPEAKER_00]: And also great job.
[SPEAKER_00]: Great job on Armand, be sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime I feel bad or depressed, I'm just going to watch your performance in Armand.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's this later in the thing where you're wrestling, because you're trying to shoot all the other, you know, holiday characters, because that's the game, but they can't die unless they really die in real life.
[SPEAKER_00]: But at one point, Sid's grabbing you, and you go, oh, you make this real sound, you're like, oh, like that, which puts me on the floor every time I'm like, dang.
[SPEAKER_04]: It took me so long to understand the dirty.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, oh, my name is dirty.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I didn't even get that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I know.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all how all the bond films are.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're all dirty names.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, great job, great job in this episode and that episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just had to give you kudos for that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let us talk about the theme or lesson that we take away from this episode, starting with Robbie, and then we'll go to everyone else.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead, Robbie.
[SPEAKER_02]: The lesson I got from this is a cure lesson, and it's, you've got to know when to stop fighting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's time to fight, and there's a time to stop fighting, and she [SPEAKER_02]: Had that choice and I think chose the right thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Terry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Strong boundaries.
[SPEAKER_03]: String.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hold.
[SPEAKER_04]: That was mine.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, really.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's what Garrett did seriously.
[SPEAKER_04]: How to work with someone like that when you have to.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to have strong boundaries.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, and go nope and go nope.
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't like him.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no, I don't like you and you did it with grace.
