[SPEAKER_04]: Your host for today are my fellow Trek actors, Armand Shimmerman, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Miss Elf, Garrett Wong for the complete and exciting version of this podcast.

[SPEAKER_03]: Please check out patreon.com forward slash the Delta Flyers and sign up to become a patron today and that is my impersonation of doing an Irish accent because I got to see almonds play.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm so excited I just want to say almonds.

[SPEAKER_04]: It a wonderful job.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you again for that performance.

[SPEAKER_04]: Sir [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, sir.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Very nice on the Irish accent.

[SPEAKER_00]: Was that, yeah, I was thinking as he was doing that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Armin's going to be listening carefully.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was listening.

[SPEAKER_02]: And the introduction, I have a slight quibble about the introduction.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Which is, you don't really have DAX.

[SPEAKER_02]: You have Jetsia.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, good catch.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've been doing it for how long, I think you can't change it now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we do have DAX.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to quibble with your quibble.

[SPEAKER_00]: For a second, let me think about it a double quibble.

[SPEAKER_00]: We do have DAX, but DAX, we have Jezia DAX, and then we will have a different DAX.

[SPEAKER_00]: We can't say that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's true.

[SPEAKER_02]: But actually, in this point in time, and I'm now, no, I won't say it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, don't give away something in the future.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, just put the brakes on that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, let's continue.

[SPEAKER_00]: The ones call us.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let me just say, very quickly, have you been watching, Robbie, at all?

[SPEAKER_00]: I've been catching bits and pieces.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a commitment.

[SPEAKER_04]: So you did not watch the 18 in a game.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I didn't have their heard about it.

[SPEAKER_04]: A few did, oh my gosh.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, because I have a Canadian wife, I just had to watch the 18.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course you do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the national team of Canada.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what's crazy about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone in Canada doesn't matter if you're in Toronto or not, the entire country or sescatch one or the Yukon for God's sake, yes, yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: And by the time you, the listeners or the viewers have heard or watched this episode of The Delta Flyers.

[SPEAKER_04]: We will we will have had a new champion at the, yes, so we're almost there.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we'll see what happens.

[SPEAKER_04]: Also, what's cool is this hat.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's very rare because it's red.

[SPEAKER_04]: You don't have red blue j's hats.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, it's very rare.

[SPEAKER_04]: And read for me symbolizes cling on.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that's what this episode is about.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some very clean on of you.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_04]: One blood one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: First of all, December 4th is a great day because it is the birthday of our good friend, Sandra Stingo.

[SPEAKER_04]: Happy birthday, Sandra.

[SPEAKER_04]: Happy birthday, Sandra.

[SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday, Sandra.

[SPEAKER_00]: We also have Maria Resel on December 6th.

[SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday, Maria.

[SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday, Maria.

[SPEAKER_04]: Happy birthday, Maria.

[SPEAKER_04]: Also December 6th, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: We have two December 6th.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Daniel Chu.

[SPEAKER_04]: Daniel happy birthday.

[SPEAKER_04]: Happy birthday Daniel.

[SPEAKER_04]: Poetry synopsis time.

[SPEAKER_03]: So what do you give us here, Limerick, please?

[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit of a Limerick for declingons.

[SPEAKER_00]: Undercover with some clingon ridges and gear.

[SPEAKER_00]: Our crew's mission involves a ton of beer.

[SPEAKER_00]: The plan went awry, but they still got their guy.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the truth soon became very clear.

[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent.

[SPEAKER_02]: Excellent.

[SPEAKER_00]: Really?

[SPEAKER_02]: A little piece of trivia in the Irish accent that I use, which is one particular part of Ireland in this play.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't say Limerick.

[SPEAKER_02]: We say Limerick.

[SPEAKER_02]: Limerick.

[SPEAKER_02]: Limerick.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here's my high coup.

[SPEAKER_04]: Dangerous Mission.

[SPEAKER_04]: Expose Galron the changeling.

[SPEAKER_04]: What?

[SPEAKER_04]: It was more talk?

[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you Gabe away the ending.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's you did, but you captured the whole plot in face action.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: You captured the whole plot.

[SPEAKER_00]: All of us.

[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: All of it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll try not to nail it on the head as much next.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing about poetry and the arts, though, as they can capture such a...

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: They can communicate so much through the art of poetry.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very true.

[SPEAKER_02]: Very true.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have a lyrics.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't have a high cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: Can you do it at an Irish accent for us, though?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why do you do it?

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to do it.

[SPEAKER_02]: The etymology of the word Apocalypse comes from the Latin Apocalypse's and the Greek and I can't pronounce the Greek, but it has a Greek origin as well.

[SPEAKER_02]: It means the revelation of the future granted to St.

John in the Isle of Patmos.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's where that happened.

[SPEAKER_02]: the book in the New Testament in which this is recorded by extension any revelation or disclosure.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that is it I guess I didn't think of it the same way because it you talk about it's it's a revelatory Like a prophecy of something about that happened and I thought apocalypse was the it's the end of time It's just that you know everything just gets so much that it's yeah, it's a just And that's what the revelation was to say John was the end of time and the end of time revelations and and that everything You know came to a great wow [SPEAKER_00]: I would not have guessed Apocalypse is a Greek origin, but it sounds it as soon as you sound it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a Greek word.

[SPEAKER_00]: Apocalypse.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: I saw the Greek in the dictionary and I went, I can't pronounce that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can't read it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right on.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you so much for that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm in here now.

[SPEAKER_04]: This episode was written by Irish Stephen Bear and Robert Hewitt Wolfe.

[SPEAKER_04]: Directed by James L.

Conway, guest stars, Robert Riley.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, our good friend, James O'Conway.

[SPEAKER_04]: Good friend.

[SPEAKER_04]: Unfortunately, Robbie, this is the very last episode of DS9 that he's directing because he accepted that position at spelling.

[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, he takes off at this [SPEAKER_04]: that's right.

[SPEAKER_04]: He did do that, but he, um, he really, they really wanted him to direct this episode, because he was supposed to leave before directing this episode.

[SPEAKER_04]: He does, in my opinion, a phenomenal job.

[SPEAKER_04]: He does a really good job for sure.

[SPEAKER_04]: Our guest stars, Robert O'Reilly, as Galron, J.

G.

Hertzler, as Mar talk.

[SPEAKER_04]: Marca limo as gold to caught Casey Biggs as tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_04]: We have a bunch of co-stars.

[SPEAKER_04]: We have Robert Badosca as Burley Klingon.

[SPEAKER_04]: I like that Burley Klingon.

[SPEAKER_04]: Robert Zashar as headguard.

[SPEAKER_04]: John L.

Bennett as towering Klingon.

[SPEAKER_04]: Tony Eper as drunken Klingon and Evor Bartel's as young Klingon.

[SPEAKER_02]: an arm and shimmerman as non-clean-on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Arm and we used to do the very first professional acting job of some of the guest stars.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I would like to in honor of our old tradition, do one actor, and that is Robert O'Reilly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, gosh.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: His first professional paid acting job on camera that I could find.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is fantasy island really fantasy island.

[SPEAKER_02]: He goes like Gustaf and episode of fantasy island and got his tag card for what I can tell so and do you know that Robert O'Reilly is really is not Robert O'Reilly Is his name is Robert Riley [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't really had to put the O in because at that time, Sag had a mandate that we couldn't have two actors with the same name.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Bob and I have known each other for a very long time long before we did Star Trek together.

[SPEAKER_02]: We did a little known play called Hamlet together.

[SPEAKER_02]: A little known.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we've known each other for a very, very long time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could have gone the other way when I joined the Union and just dropped the [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, I didn't think of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or you could have been Robert O'Neill.

[SPEAKER_02]: Or you could have been Robert O'Mignill.

[SPEAKER_02]: For signing purposes, for as many times as we sign our names, probably good to lose the Mac.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, yes, yes, it's good to lose the Mac.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's good to lose the Mac.

[SPEAKER_04]: Robert N, just a letter.

[SPEAKER_04]: You don't even need anything else.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it was Dornowitz before he changed it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Michael Dornowitz.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was not.

[SPEAKER_00]: I believe you for a second.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you remember when they had that naming composition for the boat?

[SPEAKER_00]: And the winning name was Booty McBoatface?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, they had photo you was like, it was like some navel ship or something like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was a navel ship and they decided to like put out a thing on the internet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, let's you guys name the boat A navel ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was a never you guys named a boat put it, you know nominate names and we'll see whoever gets the most boats and the name that one the most boats was booty Mcboat face And they think the Navy was like we can't do that.

[SPEAKER_04]: They should have just did it the USS booty Mcboat face would have been awesome [SPEAKER_02]: So Bob O'Reilly could have been, he could have been Bobby McBob face, but it must be very concerning when you're faced with that issue and say, okay, they won't let me have my real name.

[SPEAKER_02]: And now, by the way, the union says you can have, we can have three.

[SPEAKER_02]: They could be multiple minutes.

[SPEAKER_02]: They changed it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, finally.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, a little bit of trivia here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Tora Zial, the daughter of [SPEAKER_04]: upon arriving at the station and that did not appear.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because they had thousands of background.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes, they really did have a lot of stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of stuff, a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: The budget for this episode, my goodness.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is also the third consecutive season premiere where Jizia Dax has a different hairstyle.

[SPEAKER_04]: Do you notice that?

[SPEAKER_04]: It's another hairstyle.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did.

[SPEAKER_04]: Also, this is the first episode in which Iris Steven Bears executive producer credit is displayed alongside Rick Berman's at the end of the episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the first time?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: The first episode where they're now side-by-side.

[SPEAKER_04]: Also, this episode, the producers were super, super impressed by J.G.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hartzler's performance as Mar-Talk.

[SPEAKER_04]: So Renee Shavaria was quoted as saying this is the show we fell in love with J.

G.

Heartsler as an actor.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, hey, this guy is terrific.

[SPEAKER_04]: And here we are killing him.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I want to quote, but he did a great job for me.

[SPEAKER_02]: He is the star of this episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: His performance is outrageously good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Delicious.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is really good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that there you go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's jump into this episode, Robbie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do.

[SPEAKER_00]: The very first thing we see is a last time on Star Trek, Deep Space Nine.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they bring us back up today, which I think is a, especially back in those days.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a really good thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, even though we're doing this podcast, and we're watching it every week, to me at first I was like, oh, you know, previously on, [SPEAKER_00]: But this show is complicated and to remember all those story points.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, they catch us up with Odo and his...

[SPEAKER_00]: you know losing his changeling ability and his new chain.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is new.

[SPEAKER_00]: See it got to get a little more skin.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ratings come on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Was he in a body suit at all?

[SPEAKER_00]: He probably had a little shorty shorts.

[SPEAKER_04]: He must have done that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is shorts.

[SPEAKER_04]: But his whole chest that was his skin.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that was.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we start off after our recap in ops.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're waiting for Cisco and Dax to return from Starfleet Command where they've gone to talk about their [SPEAKER_00]: previously on, all the issues with the changelings, what happened to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the fact that Gauron has basically declared war on Starfleet.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they're waiting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their nervous warf is very agitated.

[SPEAKER_00]: He would prefer to take the defiant and go find them.

[SPEAKER_00]: They should be backed by now, a Brian agrees.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Caripole's rank, she's in charge.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, no, no, we're going to wait.

[SPEAKER_00]: Suddenly, there's an alert.

[SPEAKER_02]: And before we do that, if I'm anxious to say, once again, war for shutdown.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's becoming a pattern, yes, 100%.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've noticed that, too, that is that something that continues on the show?

[SPEAKER_00]: We're dealing with no question to take it in a life.

[SPEAKER_04]: Robby, it's clearly intentional on the writer's part, I think.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's an inside thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: They live.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, Michael, because of dear friend, it's slightly delicious, because I don't care if you're from TNG.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't rule here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, suddenly, there's no alert.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're waiting for Dax and Cisco to come back.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's an alert that run abouts for turning.

[SPEAKER_00]: We see that it's very beat up.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's had to fight its way back.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's the exact same visual of visual effects scene as they use in a prior episode with a different run about name that was damaged.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's that one cake got hurt and then yeah, yeah, because I'm looking at it going like that's exactly this and then I look that I did the research and I was, oh, it is the same one.

[SPEAKER_04]: They just called it a different run about and they're expecting you to not know that that had had I mean, it's so recent too, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we saw it already.

[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, but they do find two life signs human and trolls so they're alive a little bit later So it's going to acts of return that a pretty good cure meets them.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like this little walk and talk.

[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of walk and talks in this episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you James Conway [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, James Conway.

[SPEAKER_00]: It keeps things moving and yeah, it was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we learned just in this brief walk and talk up to the commander's office that the clean ones are throwing everything they can at them.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're really coming on hard.

[SPEAKER_00]: They walk into the captain's office and they comment that they believe galeron is a change.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what's going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's causing all of this chaos and they remind us of that because Odo had mentioned that before at the season finale.

[SPEAKER_00]: you know, he remembered that in his, in the great link, he saw that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, so they remind us of that and Starfleet is going to send a special team to infiltrate and prove that Gauron is a changeling.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Cisco lets everybody know Kira says tough assignment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who are they sending on this really tough assignment?

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco says me, so, of course, we're going to quarks.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is this your residual scene?

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like this is it, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought so.

[SPEAKER_02]: James, get me moving here too, which I thought was good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, great.

[SPEAKER_02]: You are all on the move.

[SPEAKER_00]: By keeping you moving, we see that the place is back up and running, [SPEAKER_00]: But the the grit of accountability is still posted up on the wall.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you're having to make do and there's no for Engie in the bar except for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: None of the fringy can work there.

[SPEAKER_00]: But cork greets, greets Cisco.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are there other servers there?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even notice.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are there other nonveringy, I saw somebody walk by an alien makeup with a blue or white makeup tray.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so there are other employees.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Cisco's looking for Odo.

[SPEAKER_00]: He asked cork about Odo, cork shares that he's been super depressed since he lost his ability to change.

[SPEAKER_00]: and in quarks as he's upstairs just look for the big black cloud he's right under that which it's great it was great seeing army were you happy with it yes it's very nice to do one singing in an episode get paid for a whole week it's very nice indeed yes and get your residual [SPEAKER_02]: and allow me to go off and do buffing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But even outside of that, I think for the show, it's important for us to revisit, especially in the season premiere.

[SPEAKER_02]: To re-estate.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, to see all the characters.

[SPEAKER_02]: And later on, we'll see, we'll see Jake as well.

[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, that's really important.

[SPEAKER_02]: My one purpose, I think, in this scene, was to remind people that we're at war and that people, even in wartime, [SPEAKER_02]: you know, have a good time.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Although we'll hear later that, you know, things are slightly different as far as attitude.

[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_04]: The other thing about you working one scene for your residuals and having the rest of the time off the other the most amazing thing is you don't have to be in make-up anymore.

[SPEAKER_03]: If the rest of the time, that's the best thing.

[SPEAKER_03]: Get your skin a break.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, your skin it gets to breathe.

[SPEAKER_02]: Look.

[SPEAKER_02]: If indeed, and I don't remember, if indeed, I went off to Buffy on that week, because I had nothing to do on deep space, and I, I invariably must have said to the vampires, you know, drink a lot of water, because I didn't have any makeup to wear.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, I gave my skin a break, but the studio was very good to me.

[SPEAKER_02]: Marina had won me, and I took advantage of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: They sent me for facials twice a month.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wow.

[SPEAKER_02]: Who warned you?

[SPEAKER_02]: Marina, Curtis?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: What do you mean she warned you?

[SPEAKER_02]: She said, if you're going to wear all that stuff, you make sure that they give you facials to take care of your skin.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I took advantage of it and said, Great.

[SPEAKER_02]: Told my agent, said yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: And the paramount, said sure.

[SPEAKER_02]: We'll pay for that.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so twice a month, I would go in and get my skin cleared from all the things that they had written.

[SPEAKER_00]: And all the stuff, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because I want to say right now, the heavy pancake makeup made me, my skin was horrible, just from just not even, they put a lot of makeup, it was so heavy.

[SPEAKER_04]: I may have been able to, [SPEAKER_04]: use that argument for my own face, and I didn't even think about that.

[SPEAKER_04]: You showed me the ropes Uncle Armin, but you didn't tell me about the facials because I spent so much money at the mirad, and everyone's known, probably knows mirad from all the infomercials they do, but mirad down in Santa Monica, I went every, every, probably twice a month.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's been so much money on professionals.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can even tell you.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_02]: See if you can go back to Paramount.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm going to do that.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to go ahead and show them that record and say, please, I will take that now and Paramount shares.

[SPEAKER_04]: Stop.

[SPEAKER_04]: Paramount's gone.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can take that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, that we go upstairs with Cisco.

[SPEAKER_00]: He finds Odo sitting up there drinking all alone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Odo's drinking.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now he never ate before, he never drank.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is drinking beer.

[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like bubbly, fizzy, something.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's fascinated by the bubbles in this drink.

[SPEAKER_04]: This whole conversation, this whole scene, it's like he's in an altered state.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe he's just completely drunk.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's drunk.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's completely unnebreated right now, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: And look at the way it's lit.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's lit like a caravaggio painting.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's it's it's incredibly beautiful to look at.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it's golden light goes through the beer and on his face.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's gorgeous.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's gorgeous.

[SPEAKER_02]: The point of being surreal almost gorgeous.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's been drinking and he's [SPEAKER_00]: He mentions he found digestion, disgusting before, but now he's finding it comforting.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Cisco doesn't mention it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think Cisco notices he's a little drunk.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, you know, there's a temptation to over-indulge.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be careful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's warning him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco wants out out to come on this mission to investigate Gauron and Oda thinks, you know, what can he, he can't change anymore?

[SPEAKER_00]: How can I help?

[SPEAKER_02]: And one last thing, Odo says he's off duty, that's new because in the past, Odo was never off duty.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now, granted, he had a regenerate that was time when he was, but we've never seen him be off duty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: If he wasn't regenerating, he was working.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my goodness.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even when he was dying, he wanted to work.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now he's just drinking.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, very different habits.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he says, my job doesn't interest me as much as it used to.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: My favorite line was when he said, I didn't have a sense of taste, so I'd ever paid much attention to food or drink.

[SPEAKER_04]: I had no idea how seductive they could be.

[SPEAKER_04]: I liked that a little bit of dialogue was pretty cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's a very relatable experience.

[SPEAKER_00]: We've all used food or drink to comfort ourselves.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, stressful times and things like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, it's a very, it's a great start-track observation on a human experience, you know, for Hoto.

[SPEAKER_00]: But Cisco finally loses patience with Odo keeps saying no, no, no, no, I don't want to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm good.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't do anything.

[SPEAKER_02]: Cisco's like it's in order you're coming on this mission Cisco Disorders him gets up and leaves so to that very quickly why does he need Odo what does Odo provide on this mission that nobody else can provide [SPEAKER_02]: And perhaps that answer comes later on in the episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: I asked myself this whole time, Odo is right, take somebody else.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't take off the major personnel off the station.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're at war.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're at war.

[SPEAKER_02]: Kira has to stay.

[SPEAKER_02]: But the only reason she's staying, because she's pregnant, why are you taking all the major people and leaving the station unprotected by personnel?

[SPEAKER_00]: For me at this point, it was about he's observing how Odo's giving up and one in one way was almost like, you know what, I'm doing this for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need to come.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need to come.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need to come.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need some purpose.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're losing your purpose.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but every didn't play that.

[SPEAKER_02]: If that was the purpose and it might have been, yeah, I just didn't see that in Avery's what I saw in Avery's performance and my take from that scene was that, [SPEAKER_04]: Every felt okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: We are going on this mission, which is to expose a Clingon as a changeling the only person I have that is a changeling expert is the former changeling You know named Odo so he's going to come along no matter what I need him as my counsel That's the way I looked at it.

[SPEAKER_04]: That makes sense.

[SPEAKER_02]: That makes perfection [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he orders him that he's going to go along, but he also, but the main order at the end of that scene is you're coming to the meeting about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we go into this meeting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Great opening shot, by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Again, he gets, he uses Cisco's walk.

[SPEAKER_00]: It reminded me of like on our show and Voyager.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jinwe would walk around the bridge.

[SPEAKER_00]: to bring the camera over for the lines and walk up to your station and walk over to my station.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was very well done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco walks and explains that they've moved cling on command to this fortified place, and Gauron is [SPEAKER_00]: in this protected installation on Tiger Corps, heavily fortified, and he's got a special security force called the Brotherhood of the Sword.

[SPEAKER_00]: They talk about getting a blood sample, you know, if they go in this mission, will they get a blood sample?

[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the security force, the brother of the sword, they're never going to get blood from him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but Cisco says we've got a device from Starfleet Command and he pulls out these four round balls.

[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody's kind of looking at him, but here's like, what is this?

[SPEAKER_00]: They're basically modified Polar on emitters.

[SPEAKER_00]: They have to set all four of them out around him and they will.

[SPEAKER_00]: release this polar on radiation and that will reveal if Gauron is a changeling, but they have to do it all.

[SPEAKER_00]: They have to do it only once, so they only got one shot at this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone feels like, well, the sounds impossible.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's such a 90s prop, though.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you're thinking about a 24th century, it's not, it's too round, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: This thing is way too big for what?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, really would happen 400 years from now.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then after you set them up, then you've got to have another thing that hits it to start it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like, no, it's just to me, that's the only thing that takes it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's too obvious.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of silly, but that's because, you know, back then we thought differently of what Tech would be.

[SPEAKER_04]: But that's the only thing that really shows the age of anything in track from the 90s is some of the props such as these large balls.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's a little skeptical they're going to pull this off.

[SPEAKER_00]: But Warf seems a little intrigued by it.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, you know, there will be many songs sung about us if we succeed.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, very swing on of him.

[SPEAKER_04]: Very funny though.

[SPEAKER_04]: Everyone's doubting it and he's like, this is going to be great.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's all into it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Kira asks, [SPEAKER_02]: uh...

the first problem is just how do we get you there and cisco says i've got a nineteen i think i can get us there and we cut into a quarter or we do i have a question for you robby as a director so almost everybody was sitting at the table everybody was walking around as you pointed out and that was really quite good james come to do that why was a mouser brine sitting in the window why wasn't he at the table what was it what's the point [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he comes closer during the course of the scene.

[SPEAKER_02]: But when he starts out, everyone's at the table except for miles, and it is a staff meeting.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's slightly disrespectful not to be at the table when the captain is addressing him.

[SPEAKER_00]: In my memory of our briefing room scenes, we got so bored with the same, you know, what chair are we sitting in today?

[SPEAKER_00]: you know, the every director we'd come in and it was the same thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember actors just trying to do something different like if we're in the middle of this conversation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I was sitting, can I be over here?

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I got up and was listening or maybe I just they were pitching things.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean Robert Beltran and I used to have a running inside joke that we both had the coffee cups and we'd watch each other during the scene and try to come up with business.

[SPEAKER_00]: with a coffee cup that that was just we try to make each other laugh so we'd be there listening to Jane wait like this and I might go and I know that Robert's watching me then he'd do something else he'd be listening and he'd have a line coming up and he'd go [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we do anything we could.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were so bored in the briefroom scenes with the same thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess what I'm getting, I was like, maybe column was just like, do I have to sit in a chair again?

[SPEAKER_00]: It could have been this way.

[SPEAKER_02]: It could be.

[SPEAKER_02]: It could be.

[SPEAKER_02]: I just want to point out to all those who are watching.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is the difference in cultures between the two shows.

[SPEAKER_02]: None of us ever would have done what you just did.

[SPEAKER_02]: Not of us would have done that.

[SPEAKER_04]: We were like carnival cruise lines.

[SPEAKER_04]: We were the fun show is what we were, the boys were silly.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you were.

[SPEAKER_02]: And when people asked us, what was the fun stuff?

[SPEAKER_02]: What was the practical jokes that you guys did on Deep Space Nine?

[SPEAKER_02]: We look at each other and go, we weren't any.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I saw that when I went over to visit, you know, Nicole DeBore when I went to the field.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you could feel it was totally different.

[SPEAKER_04]: The only person that was not sort of being solemn was Aaron.

[SPEAKER_04]: Eisenberg would be doing his goofy thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Marvin Rush on our show as we got going and started loosening up like them.

[SPEAKER_00]: In my memory, he didn't particularly like it.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: He would reference you guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, well, DS9, they're very serious.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't go for round on rehearsal.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't, you guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was not Marvin didn't like our silliness.

[SPEAKER_04]: He said, I think he grew to like it later, though.

[SPEAKER_04]: I did feel that because he came from DS9 directly to us.

[SPEAKER_04]: So he already saw it.

[SPEAKER_04]: He went to TNG.

[SPEAKER_00]: He and then DS9, he thought DS9 was, he thought they were very professional, serious act does.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then he really respected that and then back to us, we're outside in space.

[SPEAKER_00]: We see a cling on ship, declok, and it docks at the station.

[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot about that entirely.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here he is walking with Kira.

[SPEAKER_00]: He tells Kira that, oh, you use my daughter to lure me back over here to DS9, tricked me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you want to borrow my cling on ship on top of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he says to top it all off, you're pregnant with your car's child.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she goes, well, no, it's not your car's child.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you can't say, well, who's is it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Brian's.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's Miles O'Brien's.

[SPEAKER_02]: It was a wonderful wonderful read by Nena.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was a wonderful, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Which then elicited a wonderful reaction from Mark Alimos.

[SPEAKER_00]: Out on the prom Nena, Ducat says, well, at least being pregnant, she won't have to go on this crazy mission.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he's been updated with what they're planning to do and why they wanted his ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says three people can't possibly infiltrate the Klingon headquarters.

[SPEAKER_00]: They'll be caught in a heartbeat.

[SPEAKER_00]: We cut inside as they walk from the promenade into the infirmary.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says they'll be caught in a heartbeat and cure it kind of smiles.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they walk inside and we see the plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a big smile on his face.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco is in full cling on makeup here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he says, what's wrong to cut?

[SPEAKER_00]: Haven't you ever seen a cling on before?

[SPEAKER_02]: But they see miles of Brian first.

[SPEAKER_02]: They see, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: They see miles of them.

[SPEAKER_04]: It just pans across, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: To reveal each of them, which is...

[SPEAKER_04]: Super cool, I just want to quickly interject that Michael Dorn was so happy when all the other actors had to put on the clean-on makeup.

[SPEAKER_04]: So they could experience exactly what he had to go through.

[SPEAKER_04]: One of the people who really did not like the makeup at all, Robbie, who do you think it is, who'd hated the makeup?

[SPEAKER_04]: I want to quiz Robbie on this one.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can say column.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes column.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[UNKNOWN]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns.

[SPEAKER_04]: Columns [SPEAKER_04]: So much about it that they won't ever put me in alien makeup again.

[SPEAKER_04]: It gave me new respect for Michael.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how he or any of the other people who play Clingsons on our show do it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I had to do it for six days and I almost went insane.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's very, very difficult to go in hours early, sit in a chair for hours and then go in and try to act.

[SPEAKER_04]: Then when you're finally done working, you've got to go and get it all removed, not fun.

[SPEAKER_04]: And, quote, welcome to Arman's Life.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know, literally.

[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, Renee and I used to say, shut the up, just shut the [SPEAKER_02]: And as pleased as Michael was, I was even more pleased because I thought, oh, well, yes, yes, guess what?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not as easy as you think it is.

[SPEAKER_04]: And this is a little bit of trivia that surprised me.

[SPEAKER_04]: Renee, Oh, Bush and was said that he found the clean on makeup much easier than his typical Odom.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because it covered less of it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, well, there you go.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it also covered less of his face.

[SPEAKER_02]: He couldn't eat as Odo.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he can't eat.

[SPEAKER_02]: The first two or three years, all he had was yogurt for lunch.

[SPEAKER_00]: Get your meds now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't unimagin.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Unbelievable.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we cut onto the DuCOT's bridge from that moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we see Warf is on the bridge as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they've altered his cling-on look a bit.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not the normal Warf cling-on, because he's got to be disguised as a different cling-on for this mission.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he's disguised a little bit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dakota is still very skeptical tomorrow is there he says they should just torpedo the whole place just blow the whole Fort up kill everybody [SPEAKER_00]: And Miles explains an attack like that would never succeed.

[SPEAKER_00]: They start fighting back immediately.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not going to work.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco asks Ducat if he's prepared their fake identities.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they want a file for each of these fake people and clingons that they're playing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ducat says they will have a very impressive file.

[SPEAKER_00]: transferred to the the planet very soon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Worf mentions at the end of the scene, there's an inductee ceremony for the order of the batless.

[SPEAKER_00]: They want their names added as inductee.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's their plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to pretend to be inductees into the order of the batless.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we learn that Gauron will be there and he is presiding.

[SPEAKER_00]: So now we kind of know their mission.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to go undercover's clinging on.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to pretend to be getting an award.

[SPEAKER_00]: set up the attack, the round Rubik's Cube things.

[SPEAKER_04]: The Polaron, whatever.

[SPEAKER_04]: Polaron, the emitters.

[SPEAKER_04]: Question, when you were looking at that make-up, for me, even though column hated his cling-on makeup, I thought he looked fabulous, by the way, as I clearly all of them looked great.

[SPEAKER_04]: But looking at him, he looked like a meld between galeron and martach.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you meld those two, you get the cling-on makeup [SPEAKER_04]: of O'Reilly, of not O'Reilly, of O'Reilly, of O'Reilly, so I felt that's what I saw, but I don't know if anyone is saw anything like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing I saw on O'Reilly's make on Columns make up was the teeth seem to not, his teeth didn't work for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: They seem to go in.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[UNKNOWN]: Oh [SPEAKER_02]: What Michael Michael I guess never wore the prosthetic teeth ever I don't know I'm looking at this episode and going the others have teeth.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why doesn't why is his teeth the way it's my as teeth?

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, underside they forgot.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't know if they forgot or he just never had I never noticed before because he was standing with all these guns And with the others have teeth like I noticed that too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I noticed that too [SPEAKER_04]: Huh, and if he's never been wearing it, you can't give him teeth.

[SPEAKER_04]: That now it looks silly, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't match.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's why.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe probably never.

[SPEAKER_00]: Never had it.

[SPEAKER_04]: They didn't even teeth in the TNG.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Going to the captain's office next, Bashir was standing still for action, I noticed.

[SPEAKER_00]: The doors have glass on them.

[SPEAKER_00]: You could see him standing there for a second before the doors opened.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then he started walking.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, usually people are on the move and they just he should have started him a few steps back, but yeah, yes, they'll nitpick Bashir says that Valyxapran is budding again that he's already got eight or maybe eighteen children They don't even know they've lost count and he's going to be asking for bigger quarters because Valyxapran is [SPEAKER_00]: budding.

[SPEAKER_04]: Who we've already heard of before they've spoken of Valyxopran in a prior episode, but we have not seen the Valyxopran, which is I always get really want to see.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, we want to see the butter.

[SPEAKER_04]: The person who can bud so well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we hear that Valyxopran is very, uh, [SPEAKER_00]: uh...

has a lot of progeny that's for eight eight eight and it's not your quarters yes uh...

but shearing kira have a little rom com moment a little bit persons between them in this blaming each other for who's at fault which i thought was very meta you know the fact that i met it's actually there kid [SPEAKER_00]: And this is your fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's really good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look what you did to me.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was on purpose.

[SPEAKER_04]: Actually, yes, the right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, it was.

[SPEAKER_04]: It did that in order to acknowledge the fact that they were in a relationship and that that baby truly was CIDS kid.

[SPEAKER_04]: So that was that was on purpose, tirelessly.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's cool though.

[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's your fault.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was great.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Sid couldn't help showing his enjoyment of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Whereas Nina, the serious actress, never let that through.

[SPEAKER_02]: She did it, but there was never a twinkle about, I know what the subtext is.

[SPEAKER_00]: The games, yeah, but you can't let the twinkle in.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not the twinkle in Sid's eye.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was good love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: back on to caught ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: Warf is training our team here to act like clinging on.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very funny scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's called Odo and Alvarian Dung Beetle.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Odo does not want to play.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Worf bit basically says no one's going to believe that you're real clings on right and then Cisco comes over and hit soda Worf.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco comes over and hit slower and worse.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and worse.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very impressed Next time though, use your fist not the back of your hand.

[SPEAKER_00]: There are clings on protocols [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think one is to challenge someone to a duel to the death.

[SPEAKER_04]: You don't want to do that.

[SPEAKER_04]: You just want to.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, backhand is challenging.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like a full fist to the face.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's acceptable.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, very funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or says, was your intention to challenge me to a battle to the death?

[SPEAKER_00]: It says no.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, well, the next time, do not strike me with the back of your hand.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Miles is overwhelmed, no, he's like, this is a lot more complex.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was going to be the back of my fist, the front of my fist.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco tries to join in the Klingon energy.

[SPEAKER_00]: He tells Miles to speak loudly, gets up in his face.

[SPEAKER_00]: Worf is not convinced as he's going to work.

[SPEAKER_00]: He just says keep practicing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oda leaves and Cisco chases him out, you know, follows him out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oda says he thinks he shouldn't be here.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's just not going to be convincing as a Klingon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't know why he's here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Cisco gives him a nice heart to heart.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says he knows that this isn't what you would choose, but ignoring your responsibilities is not gonna change anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he suggests, just go back and do your job.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just get back to work.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I like this scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice scene.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a very nice scene between the two of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now I have a nitpick when warfers yelling at O'Brien and telling him all these things.

[SPEAKER_02]: The one thing that I thought he should have said to O'Brien, I'm serious about this.

[SPEAKER_02]: I may sound comical, but I'm serious about it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Get rid of the Irish accent.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Which column can do?

[SPEAKER_02]: I've forgotten doing it, American accent.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Get rid of the Irish accent.

[SPEAKER_02]: I have never seen an Irish cling on.

[SPEAKER_02]: Claire.

[SPEAKER_02]: Ha ha ha.

[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.

[SPEAKER_02]: Get one.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a dead giveaway.

[SPEAKER_02]: Chases.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like he couldn't do it.

[SPEAKER_02]: He could do it.

[SPEAKER_02]: But he's probably so upset about the makeup he didn't think of.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it was.

[SPEAKER_02]: But, but, but somebody.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Avery took on a different persona all together as I thought him a great deal.

[SPEAKER_02]: But really get rid of the Irish accent because there's no Irish point on here.

[SPEAKER_02]: There are no Irish going on.

[SPEAKER_02]: And there is an Irish accent.

[SPEAKER_02]: You can hear it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not thick, but it's there.

[SPEAKER_04]: And is, well, who's supposed to police that, though?

[SPEAKER_04]: The script supervisor, like the first AD, like who's supposed to, everyone's supposed to know that and go, hey.

[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody should have brought it up.

[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody should have brought it up either in daily's.

[SPEAKER_02]: The first time it comes up.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, then you'd have to shoot it over again.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or a loop.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or a loop?

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, they could have just looped it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, looped it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's one of those points.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or I mean, it's a very smart and you're absolutely 100% right.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I've seen this happen with issues like that on other shows that've worked on, where [SPEAKER_00]: when it hits everybody and it's too late.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody looks around and goes, why didn't somebody say something?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because everybody should have known it.

[SPEAKER_00]: The scripts you were invited, the director, the writers, they should have put it in the script.

[SPEAKER_04]: Even the other authors to some extent should have been.

[SPEAKER_00]: The actors, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot, the fact that those little obvious choices that should have been so obvious, go past, [SPEAKER_00]: dozens of people and no one because they're they're accepting the norm that this is how call them speaks.

[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, he's just going to act like a cling on.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the Irish accent is a detail that that should have been.

[SPEAKER_00]: somebody should have pointed them out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Good catch.

[SPEAKER_00]: We go back to the bridge on DuCott's Clingon ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: A Clingon bird of prey is hailing them.

[SPEAKER_00]: DuCott says he's got hollow image relays that are going to filter out his Kardashian look and make him look like a Clingon.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, hang on one sec, we're going to get that going.

[SPEAKER_00]: But [SPEAKER_00]: It's not working for some reason.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not working today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Warf offers to speak to them, to cover for their mission.

[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like their cover's going to get blown right away.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the clingsons start demanding an answer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Turn this on now to caught answers with a couple torpedoes and blows up the ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, I can't deal with this problem.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he blows them all up.

[SPEAKER_02]: And tomorrow is very pleased.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, is it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a reaction shot on these three?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and he loves it.

[SPEAKER_02]: He loves it.

[SPEAKER_04]: He loves it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't get that.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a funny thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Cisco did not like it.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's mad.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, because he feels like they could have gotten out of there without death and destruction.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a whole crew that's dead that people don't even take into account.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a bummer.

[SPEAKER_02]: Our show once got an award.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's the opposite in the award.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: That our show killed off more people than any other TV show around.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think I heard that's a little bit of a crowd of, oh my god, it's not, it's not, we killed off hundreds of, wow, and never really blinked.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Another shot at Warf and TNG in the scene at the end, Ducaz says, you know, he doesn't trust that Warf could have been able to lie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Couldn't have pulled it off.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I didn't trust Warf to talk to them and cover for us all, so.

[SPEAKER_00]: Another knock at TNG.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're knock.

[UNKNOWN]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: We go through space.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're arriving at Tiger Corps, the planets run by space stations and clean on ships and very cool CGI shot of them arriving at this place.

[SPEAKER_04]: Every time you've said it, every time they mentioned in the episode that name of that installation, Tiger Corps, I keep thinking about like Marine Corps, but it's all tigers in uniforms that are like storming the beach.

[SPEAKER_04]: Tiger Corps, Tiger Corps.

[SPEAKER_04]: Tiger Corps.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: A little later Miles is preparing these emitters.

[SPEAKER_00]: He does mention here.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hope I remember how to set these up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like it it seems like they're saying these are complicated later on.

[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't seem complicated at all, but but he suggests maybe they are going to not operate these things well.

[SPEAKER_00]: To Kant says good luck and he mentions he's going to leave right after they beam down.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like what?

[SPEAKER_00]: That wasn't our agreement.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Ducac says, well, things have changed.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't stay here without my hollow imaging filters.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't hang out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you guys succeed, then the war's over.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exposing him as a changeling.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gauron as a changeling.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you fail, [SPEAKER_04]: no need for explanation.

[SPEAKER_00]: No need for explanation.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's sound logic to cuts right.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's perfect.

[SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't have to be there.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I thought, wow.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he is a pirate.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's dangerous.

[SPEAKER_02]: He has no allegiance to anyone.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's got to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Warp confirms that they've added their names to the combination.

[SPEAKER_00]: Commendation list.

[SPEAKER_00]: The brotherhood of the the order at that left the order of the battle and that's right Do caught confirms?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's all done.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they say goodbye to Cisco and we learn that his his identity for this mission is John most son of codore.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're now starting to call each other by their spy names Down on tiger core I'm gonna call it tiger.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow tiger core from now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh wow [SPEAKER_00]: They have a cool ocean's 11 hero walk as they beam in.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like this shot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wish it was in slow motion and had a rock song under something, you know.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because they almost like met 80s metal bands.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they do.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're like music video exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: They come into the hall of warriors, this giant room with statues, then fire.

[SPEAKER_02]: Looks good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Looks good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Looks very good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think it was all background or was it some of the CGI?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was all background.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's what a lot of background player.

[SPEAKER_02]: All in makeup.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's got to be an expensive day.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, all those date, date, date, check, make up artists were hired for this one.

[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone in Hollywood, who was free, was on the show.

[SPEAKER_02]: uh...

a little montage of the celebrating and uh...

and the partying and knocking up heads and my god what jim got them all to do uh...

i mean there's and anybody standing still in that shot everybody is moving everybody is is fighting or yelling or screaming or uh...

uh...

not and again i'm wondering if uh...

if there was a lot of uh...

ad r work done afterwards by loop groups to put in all those voices [SPEAKER_02]: But just the physicalization, everybody doing something, it's quite amazing to look at.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did like when Colum got headbunked and he pretended to be disoriented to Odo for a second.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because you're going to play that a million way.

[SPEAKER_00]: When he said, I just wish they'd stop ringing that bell, and then he'd call it Odo.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's twice, at least twice in this episode, he plays this Colling on the laughing, just he hits the other person and laughs, which is good, which is good, but he does a twice.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is the first time when there's another example of it later.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's me being a Colling on.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he was having fun with that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even if he hated the makeup, he liked it.

[SPEAKER_00]: He hated the film.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he did.

[SPEAKER_00]: We cut to the promenade, back to the station, and Jake is up on the upper level, he's watching all the people below.

[SPEAKER_02]: The upper level where he and Naga always were.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's a little sad, you can tell.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's deep in thought, Bashir approaches.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jake has some very wise insights about people's moods, just by watching them, which is a very rightly authorly kind of [SPEAKER_00]: wise beyond his years insight he talks about you can tell people's moods when they walk the promenade with things are good they take their time they win their shop but then there's days like today he's noticing people are anxious here it calls there's a wounded on two ships that are arriving they need to be sure to come down into the infirmary to [SPEAKER_00]: help these people.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Bashar stops though and he reassures Jake.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, you know, you're down.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because he can pick up on Jake's mood.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's anxious.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jake's anxious.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: First pop.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says he wishes he wasn't so good as his job.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Bashar says, well, he does what he's asked.

[SPEAKER_00]: When he, you know, he wears the Starfleet uniform, he's going to do his job.

[SPEAKER_00]: It does what he's asked.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not going to change.

[SPEAKER_02]: And another excellent performance by Serop loved.

[SPEAKER_02]: And just it's not much, but it's all heartfelt and wonderful.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's sincere and engraving.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is moving.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's the only scene he's got in this episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wish he had more.

[SPEAKER_04]: And almost every episode, recently, of this podcast, Intrivia, I always say, and Sarak Lofton does not appear in this episode.

[SPEAKER_04]: So for us to have even one scene, thank you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Finally, this is the first episode of a new season.

[SPEAKER_02]: So as we said at the very top, it's important to show all the series regular.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: And in this case, many of the recurring characters.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we cut back to our Klingon celebration.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're getting blood wine.

[SPEAKER_00]: Klingon named Burley is bragging about killing a captain named Lapur and Sisco is triggered by this.

[SPEAKER_00]: He punches him.

[SPEAKER_00]: He knocks him out.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's braggled.

[SPEAKER_00]: Braggle you want, but don't get between me and my blood wine to cover for his punch.

[SPEAKER_00]: His name isn't Burley.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's he's he's the Burley [SPEAKER_04]: is what it is.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, remember that, they started naming people by talkling on, like I'm not just playing on.

[SPEAKER_04]: So if you're saying Bert, that his name is Bert Lee, I just want to make sure that that's.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's just a big guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, a larger clingon than most.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, O'Brien, no clocks, what's his go, you know, his anger and everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he gets it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco admits he knew that captain that was killed by the clingon.

[SPEAKER_00]: They went to the Academy together, so, you know, the life and death stakes are very real here for what these guys are doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Worf says about this party, he explains, this is as much an endurance test for the ceremony as a party that they're supposed to drink all night, go crazy, and then be clear-eyed when galeron arrives tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a challenge for them to try to go hard and then be...

[SPEAKER_00]: step back into professional mode.

[SPEAKER_00]: A Brian asked when should we set up the emitters?

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco says not now, not tonight then.

[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do it in the morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't want to risk being found out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Odo does reference back to his, uh, fascinating bubbly beer that he was, his wishes that blood wine had some bubbles.

[SPEAKER_02]: The writers put in something to, to make us understand why they don't get drunk.

[SPEAKER_02]: They covered their butts and saying, OK, if they drank that much, they would be drunk, but, you know, they've been injected with some sort of [SPEAKER_04]: anti-intoxicant.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is that what they call it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, they had the anti-intoxicant.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this next scene, we see Cisco wrestling a cling on, throws him to the ground, and then he tells his buddies that [SPEAKER_00]: He admits that he was captain of the wrestling team, but then he goes 22 years ago, how, which I thought was very funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, I think it's a very clever, very clever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: Martoc arrives in this scene, but he's very suspicious immediately.

[SPEAKER_00]: He thinks they look familiar.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, O'Brien's specifically, that's who he stops at, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's the Irish accent.

[SPEAKER_04]: You sound familiar.

[SPEAKER_02]: You sound very different.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Marta grabs Miles by the shoulder just as he's about to set up his first emitter and he says you're really familiar in that Irish accent.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, he doesn't say that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Miles uses a cover story to explain they were both in the battle of Mempa.

[SPEAKER_00]: Marta says, oh yeah, you were there too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Could be that.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's not sure about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's still very suspicious.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a wonderful performance by J.

G.

Herks.

[SPEAKER_02]: So good.

[SPEAKER_02]: So good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you think he's...

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the straight guy that he's just playing this all straight, it's going to have a great twist later on.

[SPEAKER_04]: While they're setting up these emitters, I found that this was a little confusing to me.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is my only nitpick of the scene because at times, it seemed like some people had already attached the balls and then it seemed like, wait a minute, wasn't that ball already together?

[SPEAKER_04]: And then now he's reaching for it now.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it seemed like some things were a little messy here in the editing for me, but I'm confusing.

[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with you, the putting of the, [SPEAKER_02]: putting up with the emitters was very messy.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I just want to point out Bob Blackman the costume designer for both of our shows never believed in pockets anywhere.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so that to stick it in there glove.

[SPEAKER_02]: I can't tell you how many times I've stuck things in my coat pocket because they're known you know [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, script would say Quark takes something out of his pocket.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with there are no pockets.

[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I guess.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why couldn't they have put some pockets?

[SPEAKER_02]: Because with all the knocking about that they're doing, these things are going to slip out of their gloves.

[SPEAKER_02]: It just didn't make any sense to slip it in the glove.

[SPEAKER_02]: Just give them a pocket.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Or Bob, Bachman, he could have invented a cling-on fanny pack.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's right.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: This funny is that might be, yes, he could have done that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Odo's placing, I guess the last one, whatever sequence of placements is happening, Odo's placing his when a drunk cling on, pats him on the back row hard to ask about Gauron and the emitter falls and rolls right into the foot of another cling on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, seems like they're busted.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing on me come back, he picks up this little Rubik's Cube round thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: He thinks it's a weapon when Warfare arrives and says, ah, you found it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he explained, Warfare explains, oh, it's a Vulcan toy, it's a spoil of war.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he takes it back, and that's when, [SPEAKER_00]: galeron arrives.

[SPEAKER_00]: Big ceremony slowly handing out metals.

[SPEAKER_00]: The pace kind of slows down here in terms of dialogue.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're milking this suspense.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's handing out metals while that's happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oto puts that emitter that fell down and puts that last emitter up there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's when Cisco pulls out a remote.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's about to hit it when suddenly Gauron calls Cisco.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, Jadmos, son of Cobore, and so Cisco's got to hide it back and it seems glove.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And the question is why, one would assume that you would know that he triggered it then.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why would you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, what difference does it make whether he's been called or not?

[SPEAKER_02]: They're they're about to cause a, you know, sensation.

[SPEAKER_02]: So why not?

[SPEAKER_02]: That's the most valid.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.

[SPEAKER_04]: I agree with that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Very 1000.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're on.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're on to that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you are.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're batting the thousand.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look at that.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's because they only had one scene in this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he sticks it back in his glove, goes to get his metal, and he gets the metal, very suspenseful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to get busted here or not?

[SPEAKER_00]: But no, it seems like he's going to get the metal and he starts to step down.

[SPEAKER_02]: And doesn't Bob look like he recognized his face.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I was going to say.

[SPEAKER_04]: Galron, or Bob Arily, plays it as if he has a bit of an inkling of who this is.

[SPEAKER_04]: I felt maybe I'm wrong.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: You both all be right.

[SPEAKER_02]: And Jim should have said him.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't do that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't do that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Don't do that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but maybe they did that just to have the tension to make it look like he recognized him for us to go, but then they didn't really happen, but yeah, it's a little messy there too.

[SPEAKER_04]: But as he's walking away, that's when he's about to to hit the emitter.

[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, the remote that activates all the emitters, and that's when he gets hit from behind with the bat left.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's why Bob should not have played it because moments later, seconds later.

[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Martak attacks, uh, Avery.

[SPEAKER_04]: You think it's Gauron doing it?

[SPEAKER_04]: Not Martak for me.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe because I, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Gauron doesn't have a bat lift.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_02]: But I suppose you could have picked one up.

[SPEAKER_02]: You right.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: It could have been that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Martak knocks him down.

[SPEAKER_00]: I liked the shock because you had, [SPEAKER_00]: you had, um, avery coming towards the camera and then you see the batlet rise up above.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't even know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought the shot was very cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know who it is that's just knocked him down, but some cling on just took him out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, right after he got his, his metal.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but didn't, did either of you go, well, wait a minute, did you just get slashed by a batlet?

[SPEAKER_04]: Why is your arm not, you know, off of your body?

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it looked to me like he got hit in the back.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he just hit the back, but it was more like he got hit in the back with a baseball bat.

[SPEAKER_04]: Something blunt without any edges or points is what he's like.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'd have to look at it again, but I'm at the impression that it was the back of the bat list.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, the other side.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, there's not the sharp maybe, but the with the hand holding.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, then that would make sense.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because I was like, there's no blood.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing I was shocked.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's Mar talk that knocked him down and Mar talk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, basically reveals his, his, his deception.

[SPEAKER_00]: Captain Benjamin Cisco.

[SPEAKER_00]: I knew I recognized a face seal the room, seems we have some unembodied guests.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Cisco's busted.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their cover is busted.

[SPEAKER_00]: We cut inside this prison cell, which I love this prison cell.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was like a bird cage.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a giant round, yeah, barred room.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Cisco, Odona Brian and Warfer all in the cell.

[SPEAKER_00]: says gauron is not a, not a changeling at first.

[SPEAKER_00]: And gauron has destroyed the emitters.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now they're whole plan with these emitters.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to work.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cisco thinks Martak agrees with them.

[SPEAKER_00]: He fishes a little bit.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, you, you're suspicious too, aren't you?

[SPEAKER_00]: Martak and Martak says no, that would be treason to, you know, accuse gauron of being a changing.

[SPEAKER_00]: That'd be treason.

[SPEAKER_00]: Worf says when is it treason to act in the best interest of the clinging on empire?

[SPEAKER_00]: So starting to get to Martak in the scene, [SPEAKER_00]: Martaoc does admit he never really liked Gauron that he was always a politician and always compromising, but suddenly he met your right, Gauron has been calling for war, now the losses are mounting and the war is foolish.

[SPEAKER_00]: Martaoc finally says, you know what, maybe you're right, the only way now to know if he's a changeling is to kill him.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, I'll let you guys come out and back into the hall and you can kill him and we'll get our answer.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a big turn in the scene.

[SPEAKER_02]: Except, except that, who is it?

[SPEAKER_02]: Is it worth, or in the earlier scenes, says, let's kill him and Cisco says, our Starfleet said, we're to find out if he is, a change, it's not an assassin.

[SPEAKER_02]: The Simon is not an assassination.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so all of a sudden an old one.

[SPEAKER_02]: So now all of a sudden it is in assassination.

[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, I thought otherwise, but okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: That just mean maybe because the because the emitters have been destroyed.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they cannot expose him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can't do the original plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: So do we just leave and do nothing?

[SPEAKER_00]: Do we?

[SPEAKER_02]: But the point of the emitters was to find out if Gauron was a change.

[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_02]: But what if?

[SPEAKER_02]: And now if you're just going to assassinate him, the if is removed, if it's removed, but they all believe that he is at this point.

[SPEAKER_04]: They all why.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: because our assignment, it may, our assignment is to find out not to assassinate.

[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: So now they're going to assassinate it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it doesn't seem like there's any new information that would have changed their plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't change any new information.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: If any, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're on point today, Arman.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You should have been in the writers room.

[SPEAKER_02]: I should have been.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I would have loved to have been a writer I would be a fun job.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we cut out to the quarter.

[SPEAKER_00]: Martox letting them out the guard says I can't let them leave Garance.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't let them leave.

[SPEAKER_00]: Martox has shoots him kills the guard.

[SPEAKER_02]: Add to the body count deep space tonight.

[SPEAKER_04]: He yeah, he shoots both guards, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: One, the other guy is disabled the other one.

[SPEAKER_04]: Avery is disabled the other one.

[SPEAKER_04]: But he doesn't kill him.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think he knocks on the con.

[SPEAKER_04]: Doesn't kill him.

[SPEAKER_04]: Then they walk through this other door.

[SPEAKER_04]: And Bart talked takes out two daggers.

[SPEAKER_04]: He just kills those guys.

[SPEAKER_04]: So the more body count there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I like that move.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was a very, very.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And is that J.

G's idea?

[SPEAKER_02]: Is that Jim's idea?

[SPEAKER_02]: Is it this writer's idea?

[SPEAKER_02]: Whoever idea was, good idea.

[SPEAKER_00]: very good.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was very cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I had to justify that because I was starting to nitpick.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, really, these are clean on warriors.

[SPEAKER_04]: One little prick is going to kill them.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, so I said, okay, he knew exactly where their vital, you know, you know, uh, yeah, most vulnerable part of this, yeah, in their body.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he took him out that way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Worf Miles and Cisco head inside.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mark talked stops out of the, he says, I don't, I don't trust you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You were, you were a changeling.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't trust you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to stay out here with me while [SPEAKER_00]: Gauron, inside the hall of wars, they push to the front.

[SPEAKER_00]: Worf tries to stab him, but the whole room is defending Gauron, weapons are drawn.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is when Gauron says, no, everybody in this room, lower your weapons.

[SPEAKER_00]: If Worf wants to fight, I will fight him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bring it on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I'll bring it on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bring it on.

[SPEAKER_00]: So a very clingon sort of, you know, clingon traditional, [SPEAKER_04]: Honorable.

[SPEAKER_04]: Honorable.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, but I would have loved to have seen Guyeron said, bring it on and then Worf said, it's already brought in or something like that and then they go at it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that would, yeah, could call back to bring it on the film.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like the cheerleading film.

[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Back in the corner, Mark talked to getting impatient, why isn't Guyeron dead?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, to figures it out in the scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, wait a minute.

[SPEAKER_00]: Guyeron is fighting with honor.

[SPEAKER_00]: and Mar-Talk said there would not be no honorable combat, no formal challenges.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he thinks Mar-Talk is the...

he's putting two to two together.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is why I think another reason Cisco wanted him on the mission, because he would be able to, you know, deduce these kinds of [SPEAKER_02]: detectives is the only moment that justifies Odo being there.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a good one.

[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't set it up though.

[SPEAKER_00]: If Cisco had said, you know, you're the constable.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're the one that can figure out, you know, the problems.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I thought it was implied.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I did.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe maybe this is why you brought him along.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're my expert on it.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're going to be able to sniff everything out if something is all right.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I found.

[SPEAKER_04]: So.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we go back into the Gauron Warfight.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big one and lots of great choreography here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Big fight, Warf eventually gets the upper hand is about to kill him when Odo stops Warf at the very last second stop.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is when Mar Talk starts to fight with Odo.

[SPEAKER_00]: Odo tells the room that Mar Talk is a changeling and [SPEAKER_00]: That's when Martak's arm does the shapeshifter move to shut Odo up from 10 feet away or something.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Arms shoots out like like a changeling and the whole room like it starts shooting it at Martak and he kind of vibrates and then explodes into goo and slime up.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, but last time we saw someone that was a changeling die, he died at Odo's hands.

[SPEAKER_04]: He didn't explode.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I was curious.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's no- I like the explosion.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's cool, but I always love an alien, good explosion.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just establish it and be consistent with it.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's all I'm asking.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like if you're gonna, you know, the first time you saw a death of a change, like he didn't explode.

[SPEAKER_04]: And this time he did.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's all.

[SPEAKER_04]: You guys are the logic police, both of you guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just like the cool goo explosion we are Vulcans are men and I are Vulcans two day So they blow them up into goo and Cisco confirms we found our changeling So wasn't who we expected it was a big surprise to me watching this episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love I love the twist I thought and why is it a surprise because JG is so good is more dark [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he never gave it away.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, a little bit later, they discussed what they've learned that the founders misled Odo to try and put them hard talking charged.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the founders were we're trying to cover up their own plan and [SPEAKER_00]: If the founders could succeed, and Mar-Talk became in charge, that would prolong the war and have the clean-ons and the empires just destroy each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the founders wouldn't have to do anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gauron says, just give us our canis and the war will end, and Cisco says, I can't do that, but maybe we should just stop fighting, just pause on all this fighting for a minute, and just talk, just talk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gauron sort of reluctantly agrees to talk to the council, and maybe we can do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And at the end of the scene, I like when Gauron tells Worf, you should have killed me when you had the chance because you won't get another.

[SPEAKER_00]: Benton, yeah, what's going to happen there?

[SPEAKER_00]: Back to our station, we're in the infirmary.

[SPEAKER_00]: This goes in transform back to his human normal self.

[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't mention, he kind of misses the things, the dentures, I guess.

[SPEAKER_00]: He misses the fangs.

[SPEAKER_02]: And before he says that he robs his face and I thought that's a genuine reaction that he got that stuff off of his face.

[SPEAKER_00]: Odo is next to get transformed back to his now human self.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a changeling anymore, so I'm sure he's got to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Odo mentions he will not miss the fangs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bashir offers to give him any face he likes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I like how Odo says, I think I'll stick with my old face.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like that the best.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now here is the humanoid prejudice, let me give you the exact line.

[SPEAKER_02]: He says, I can give you a bejorn, a human or a true face.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's what he offers.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all of those are basically human faces, except for the bejorn, which has a little thing on the nose.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't offer him a cardacity in face.

[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't offer him a fringy face.

[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't offer him a bull-bullying face.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's, we'll give you a pretty face.

[SPEAKER_02]: No.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's just a little bit of the part of this that I have always experienced in Star Trek is that humans are at the top of the apex of the pyramid, that they are the best everybody, everything below them.

[SPEAKER_02]: to some extent, Vulcan's being right underneath humans.

[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody else, everybody that looks like a human, they're good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody that doesn't look like a human have problems.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so it's very humanoid centric, is essentially what you're saying.

[SPEAKER_04]: And thank you for bringing that up because I don't think that typically I or any other viewer would think that because, you know, we, I did not play.

[SPEAKER_04]: I played human on track and anyone watching is human.

[SPEAKER_04]: They didn't play it in Alien, but you have that unique perspective that a lot of people don't have.

[SPEAKER_04]: So thanks for bringing that up.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did like, though, that Odo chose his old face, my old face.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It would have been nice to have other positive options offered up and then for him to say, [SPEAKER_00]: They all sound interesting and wonderful, but now I think with my old face.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now he's human, okay?

[SPEAKER_04]: He's been changed by the founders to human.

[SPEAKER_04]: And his whole thing is that I can't duplicate face as well.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that's clearly something that he has had an issue with, and probably bothered him as a changeling.

[SPEAKER_04]: So now that he's human, I'm shocked that he didn't say, yeah, give me a regular human face now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, you know, or regular bejorn face, because that's what he's used to.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's where he was found by the bejorn's, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: So I was a little shocked by that.

[SPEAKER_02]: So my question is, I totally agree with you, Garrett.

[SPEAKER_02]: My question is, why did the writers do that?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, forget the show for a second.

[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to put Renee in make up for 45 minutes in order to get him to get that face.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why keep that if you have a perfect way to get him out of it?

[SPEAKER_02]: What was the necessity of keeping that face?

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure that had to be discussed.

[SPEAKER_02]: What was the final kicker that said, no, we want to keep him the way he is?

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm happy that they did.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very happy.

[SPEAKER_02]: But they must have had that conversation.

[SPEAKER_02]: And because the line is there, we can give you any face you want.

[SPEAKER_02]: They must have known.

[SPEAKER_02]: What was the kicker that said, no, we're going to keep him in a formless face?

[SPEAKER_00]: For my theme lesson of this episode, I wrote down, you have to look beneath the surface to truly know who someone is.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I like that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Arbond, do you have one for this episode?

[SPEAKER_02]: I do, but it took me a half hour to come up with one.

[SPEAKER_02]: I had been doing the show with you guys for over two years now and it's usually pretty obvious to me What a theme is and I can usually write that down pretty quickly right this one I thought about it And I thought about it and I thought about it and I thought that I can't find a theme in this I find it came up with one so the one I came up with is this threat offers two paths Danger and opportunity [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.

[SPEAKER_04]: I like that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for me, I guess maybe on a broader spectrum, you know, make peace not war.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like the the broadest is less and right there.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then my other theme is clingons are cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_02]: And while we're talking about that, clingons are cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: I totally agree with you.

[SPEAKER_02]: of the series' regulars playing Clingons.

[SPEAKER_02]: The only, and this includes Michael as well, the only person that I thought was truly a Clingon besides the makeup was Avery.

[SPEAKER_02]: Even Michael, in this episode, I went, [SPEAKER_02]: You're not acting the way Mar-Talk is acting.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're not acting the way, uh, got around us acting the way everybody at all the, uh, the tall, burly claims we're acting.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: They were all too cerebral.

[SPEAKER_02]: Michael was very cerebral.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I suddenly realized, forget the Irish accent.

[SPEAKER_02]: I would have caught them right away because of their, their lack of ability to blend in.

[SPEAKER_02]: But every, took it on and ran with it and did a very good job.

[SPEAKER_02]: Even my dear good friend, René O'Bersian, while who was a consummate actor, I thought I understand that the character doesn't think that he thinks he's fulfilling his mission, but even he seemed to be a liability most of the time, because he didn't seem to be cling on like.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Patreon, Paul winner for the theme slash lesson slash moral of this episode is submitted by Tim Newmark who says it is not enough to look like a clinging on one must act like one, which is kind of what you were saying there are many so there you go.
