[SPEAKER_01]: Christian parenting.
[SPEAKER_01]: As Christian parents, we all want to be praying for our kids, but knowing what to pray can be hard, that's why Christian parenting created a great cloud of witnesses' prayer journal to help busy parents like you intentionally pray for your child and their faith all year long.
[SPEAKER_01]: This weekly journal walks through the lives of faithful men and women in Scripture, like Abraham, Sarah, Moses, and Rahab who trusted and extraordinary God.
[SPEAKER_01]: It helps you pray boldly for your kids to follow in their footsteps, growing character deep in their faith and trust God's plan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, hello and welcome to the True Seekers Podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Today's episode is part of our praying Bible series.
[SPEAKER_01]: Each month we read a verse from the Bible and learn how to pray it back to God.
[SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever struggled with knowing what to say to God when you pray?
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we don't always know how to pray or what to pray when we're talking to God.
[SPEAKER_01]: The good news is that God has given us the Bible and the Bible has filled with all kinds of truths that we can pray back to God.
[SPEAKER_01]: When we are at a loss and don't know how or what to pray, we can turn to the Bible to give us truths that we can stand on and believe in when we pray to God.
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you know that when you asked Jesus into your heart, you became a child of God?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Bible says we can have confidence as we come before God and talk to him in prayer because he is our Father and he hears us.
[SPEAKER_01]: Today I'm going to show you how we can pray the Bible.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you've been following along for a while then you know that the prophets of the Old Testament spoke many powerful words of the Lord to the nation of Israel.
[SPEAKER_01]: The prophets spoke the words that God told them to speak.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when we read what the prophets had to say, we are reading the words of God.
[SPEAKER_01]: Many of the prophets gave us beautiful and powerful images of who God is and how great He is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Today we are going to listen to the words of Isaiah and how He speaks on behalf of the Lord.
[SPEAKER_01]: Listen as Isaiah speaks.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is speaking as the Lord tells him to speak.
[SPEAKER_01]: These words come from Isaiah chapter forty verses twenty one through thirty one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you not know?
[SPEAKER_01]: Have you not heard?
[SPEAKER_01]: Has it not been told you from the beginning?
[SPEAKER_01]: Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
[SPEAKER_01]: He sits and thrown above the circle of the earth and its people are like grasshoppers.
[SPEAKER_01]: He stretches out the heavens like a canopy and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
[SPEAKER_01]: He brings princes to not and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sewn, no sooner do they take root in the ground, then he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
[SPEAKER_01]: To whom will you compare me, or who is my equal, says the Holy One, lift up your eyes and look to the heavens who created all these.
[SPEAKER_01]: He who brings out the story host, one by one, and calls forth each of them by name.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you complain Jacob?
[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you say Israel my way is hidden from the Lord?
[SPEAKER_01]: My cause is disregarded by my God.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you not know?
[SPEAKER_01]: How do you not heard?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth.
[SPEAKER_01]: He will not grow tired or weary and his understanding no one can bow them.
[SPEAKER_01]: He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even youth, scrotired and weary, and young men stumble and fall.
[SPEAKER_01]: But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you just love the picture you get of God's majesty and glory as you listen to those words?
[SPEAKER_01]: But before we pray, I'd like us to think about some of the words we just heard from Isaiah.
[SPEAKER_01]: First, I'd like you to think about how God says, to whom will you compare me?
[SPEAKER_01]: Who is my equal?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is there anyone or anything we can compare to God?
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is the only one worthy of our worship.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is the only one who is all powerful, all knowing, and all present.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is God, the creator of the ends of the earth, and there is no one like Him.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why He deserves our allegiance and our worship and our honor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Simply because He is God, and there is no one like Him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Next, I want you to think about how we learn that God does not grow tired or weary.
[SPEAKER_01]: God is not like man who needs sleep and rest to regain strength.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is not like us who might get a little grumpy when we don't get enough sleep at night.
[SPEAKER_01]: God is never tired.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is the only one who gives a strength because His strength is unlimited.
[SPEAKER_01]: His power is eternal and He is everlasting.
[SPEAKER_01]: He does not have a weakness.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is all strong and all good.
[SPEAKER_01]: How wonderful it is to know that He is the most powerful and strong God who is also gentle and loving and kind and gracious to us.
[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, I want you to think about the last part of this verse.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
[SPEAKER_01]: The devil wants you to lose your hope in God and give up.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the Bible says that those who hope in the Lord will be renewed and their strength will be renewed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Friends, keep your hope in God.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do not give up on Him because He will never give up on you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even when you cannot see him or hear him, you can trust him and put your hope in him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He will strengthen you when you feel as though you can't go on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Keep your eyes on him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He promises to help us run and not be weary to walk and not faint and to accomplish his purposes in our lives.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now that we have learned more about who God is from Isaiah's words, I'd like us to pray back to him some of the truths we have learned.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to pray and I want you to listen as I pray the Bible.
[SPEAKER_01]: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are a good and kind God, and I am also so grateful that you never run out of strength.
[SPEAKER_01]: You are never weak, but you are always strong.
[SPEAKER_01]: You are always good and always righteous.
[SPEAKER_01]: Father, we choose to put our hope in you, and as we hope in you, you will strengthen us.
[SPEAKER_01]: I pray that you will give strength to those who put their trust in you right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone who might be listening who feels weak or scared or tired, give them your strength.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cause them to know your presence near them now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Strengthening them and uplifting them.
[SPEAKER_01]: You are the one true in living God and we worship you.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's in Jesus' name we pray.
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
