[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Today, [SPEAKER_01]: is the weekend recap, everything that you need to know that took place over the weekend, the best performers across the minor league landscape.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have started with Owen Murphy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Owen Murphy of the Atlanta Braves.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was breaking out last year, like taking off in a big way.
[SPEAKER_01]: He blew out his arm, late, April early May.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was an Asheville.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was cold, like, forty-five degrees writing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know because that was there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a dominant star.
[SPEAKER_01]: They bring him out for the eighth inning.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was dominating and ultimately blows out his arm.
[SPEAKER_01]: He comes back though this year and looks really, really good post.
[SPEAKER_01]: TJ, I mean, everything that he showed this year has been incredible.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at what he did this week.
[SPEAKER_01]: Loose, watch the film.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a start from this weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's facing off against Greensboro.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's Connor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Griffin, he's striking out by the way, top prospect in baseball.
[SPEAKER_01]: Murphy's fastball velocity is up actually like he's ninety three consistently now, which is good coming back from TJ.
[SPEAKER_01]: You like to see that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some pretty outlier traits on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a high VB from it's release point.
[SPEAKER_01]: He hides the ball exceptionally well as you can see there.
[SPEAKER_01]: how he kind of keeps the ball back until release like just hides it exceptionally well.
[SPEAKER_01]: He'll run that fastball down.
[SPEAKER_01]: He'll run the fastball up like Murphy just kind of lose guys that while he's smaller the it works.
[SPEAKER_01]: The athleticism's there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good moving on the mound.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a slider and a curve ball, distinct pitch of slider in the mid eighties, curve ball, seeing closer to eighties, and there's to change up these mostly used against left handed bats.
[SPEAKER_01]: But Murphy's comfortable throwing pretty much all pitches to both sides, as you saw there that slider to the back foot of a lefty, pretty impressive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, I'm just most impressed that Murphy has come back and looked how he has.
[SPEAKER_01]: He had eight strikeouts in three and a third scoreless innings over the weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: He had a fifteen percent swing and strike rate.
[SPEAKER_01]: Really good stuff across the board.
[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, like he just looks ready to continue his a cent up prospect rings.
[SPEAKER_01]: I really didn't drop him all that far when he had TJ.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was moving into my top owner and he fell just out of it, but seeing the stuff now with where he is, like, that's pretty insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not going to lie to you.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's impressive stuff from Owen Murphy, the Atlanta Braves.
[SPEAKER_01]: So very encouraging to see him come back, how he is.
[SPEAKER_01]: I will see him in person this week.
[SPEAKER_01]: Looking forward to that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll have more detail about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Rome is in town here in Greenville.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not a lot going on around me outside of that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I will definitely be tuned into that.
[SPEAKER_01]: See Alex low D's of the Atlanta Braves as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So some fun scouting trips looking forward to in the year.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're wanted down.
[SPEAKER_01]: But when Murphy certainly not winding out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's ramping up and looks really, really good.
[SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: that's encouraging to see from him better rising prospect like yo heaker fijardo that's the boston retsox eighteen year old prospect fijardo this video's from uh...
socks player dev account and he was dominant he faced off against a really good lynchburg line up first off [SPEAKER_01]: with a lot of good contact hitters.
[SPEAKER_01]: Check out eight one hit, no walks across five and two thirds.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's fun to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, this kid's eight team, you can see the frame like he's kind, he's got a strong lower half pretty well filled out.
[SPEAKER_01]: The fastballs ticked up this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's now getting closer to the mid nineties pretty regularly.
[SPEAKER_01]: See, in the last starting, he topped it in ninety six.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he's routinely sitting ninety three to five now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Last year was sitting like ninety one ninety two.
[SPEAKER_01]: He has topped out ninety seven this year, which is encouraging.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a six foot three.
[SPEAKER_01]: Projectible frames.
[SPEAKER_01]: He like to see that he'll mix in both a riding force him and a running two seem fastball.
[SPEAKER_01]: He'll drop in a nasty slider like you just saw to that back foot of a lefty.
[SPEAKER_01]: love to see that he's got a pretty well-developed change up there's the change up by the way if you're watching there's some really good stuff there in this profile watch that film again if you want just to see the arm town that we are talking about here it's kind of a long loose arm act which is fine like it'll play the commands taken a big leap forward over his last four starts for Jardo has allowed just one earn run in twenty innings twenty strikeouts to five walks [SPEAKER_01]: The change of I mentioned that you've seen that some of those lefties, it works eighty six eighty eight.
[SPEAKER_01]: So good enough separation off the fastball and the slider.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you take back eighty three to eighty five with pretty good depth, there is some inconsistencies with shape at times, but he has missed plenty of bats with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So stock up for Fajardo and you'll spell that you can see on the screen if you're watching, but it's Y-H-O-I-K-E-R.
[SPEAKER_01]: Fajardo is F-A-J-A-R-D-O.
[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Heeker, Fajardo, the Boston Red Sox, really, really fun arm there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's continued dominance has been one to watch for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: So keep an eye on him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is moving up my rankings pretty substantially.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he will continue to turn to upward.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think he had him around four hundred in the rankings.
[SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't shock me if he ended the year in Greenville, honestly.
[SPEAKER_01]: and he continued to move up.
[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about Nestor Hermann last weekend, guess what?
[SPEAKER_01]: He did it again, another dominant start.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nineteen strikeouts over his last two starts, which is encouraging to see, and over his last four starts, he has a three one zero ERA with a twenty seven or six K-minus B-B rate.
[SPEAKER_01]: Love to see that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hermann tonight, we've had our eyes on multiple of our scouts, including me, saw him last year, saw him in spring training this year, Connor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Montgomery has seen him in buoy, or Chesapeake now, several times.
[SPEAKER_01]: and the stuff is there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Fastballs up to mid nineties, top in ninety seven.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a low to mid eight slider upper seven.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's curveball and a pretty interesting change.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got fade, but kind of high riding pitch kind of a split as it's interesting, but six three, two, twenty five frame.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hermann is finally showing what we all want to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's good dominance on the mound that we've been waiting on.
[SPEAKER_01]: We got to talk tied Johnson of the Tampa Bay race.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's part of a trade last year comes over to the race organization.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they completely changed him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was part of the ESOC Paredage trade.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was with the Cubs, a Salman Middle Beach like the second week of the season last year.
[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, it was just like [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, like the commander wasn't there, but I saw him again after the trade.
[SPEAKER_01]: I got to start where he piggybacked Brody Hopkins.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was a blast guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was one of my favorite starts of last year that I saw, but a fifteenth rounder, nine, three, nine, five on the fastball.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a pretty low release height concerning six but six.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you like to see that.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's got pretty good ride from the release height.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a slider mid eighties range, two plane break, got a eighty three mile an hour change.
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't use often, but we will need to see a third pitch further developed.
[SPEAKER_01]: But Johnson's been so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was the first time that he had gone seven innings in his career, which was fun to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: and he sure out ten matters walk just one over his last nine starts a one five nine ERA twenty six percent k minus b b rate so tie johnson really really good there's several pitchers to talk about what I do want to hit on is L a's are dish may so we got some funny names today and dish may is one of them uh...
dish may spell d i s h m e y and [SPEAKER_01]: LEA's are ELI, A, Z, A, R.
Well, I cut up one video, but this was a fastball.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can see the run on that pitch ride and run.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty electric stuff from Dishmay.
[SPEAKER_01]: He does sit around ninety four miles per hour.
[SPEAKER_01]: So see they are on the fastball.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's reached up to ninety eight.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit of a dead zone shape.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like fifteen inches of IVB, thirteen inches of run.
[SPEAKER_01]: But look at the release side here.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's five foot three on the release height.
[SPEAKER_01]: If the video will load, there we go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Watch the release.
[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of tough.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's a tough spot for hitters to pick up from that release point.
[SPEAKER_01]: He gets like, Arm, kind of got to third base.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would good extension.
[SPEAKER_01]: His forcing is like up to eighteen inches of IVB, which is pretty good from that release.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he's got a upper seventies curve.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got good debt horizontal, a slider with more horizontal, more carry to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a change up as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think the change up has taken a pretty good step forward this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, fourteen is to fade, sitting eighty seven on that offering.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, there's some of the arms that stood out of the weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: This may was really, really good across the board.
[SPEAKER_01]: He dominated ten strikeouts across five scoreless with three hits allowed.
[SPEAKER_01]: He did hit three batters.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of the downfall issue for Dishmay is that he is walking a lot of guys or hitting guys by fish as we saw three there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So control can be an issue at times for Dishmay, but the arm talent is fun there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's twenty.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we shall see how that works out.
[SPEAKER_01]: But so you can quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: We have a lot of good hitters to talk about top prospects to some sneaky deep names.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get right back with you after the break.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, right out of the gate, we got to talk about Dylan Beaver's as far as hitters go.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's been with the hottest hitters in the minor leagues.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's on the cusp of a call up at this point.
[SPEAKER_01]: Beaver's has been spectacular this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was kind of out on Beaver's after your twenty four, like he just wasn't great.
[SPEAKER_01]: He took a big step forward, kind of catapulted by a swing change that you like to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of killed the leg kick a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting the foot down much earlier.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's timing up balls much better, which is great to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's in a much better start at the starting position at the beginning of a swing, which you like to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: And last year we kind of barrel-tipped a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not getting that as much this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: You see the bat, you know, stays the hands are a little higher and stay there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's absolutely matched.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's already pushed past his home run total this year, which is fun to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the strikeout rates falling.
[SPEAKER_01]: Under the hood, the exit velocities are good.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, uh, eighty eight mile an hour average.
[SPEAKER_01]: You just fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not great.
[SPEAKER_01]: But you see that ball there.
[SPEAKER_01]: One, oh, eight point two.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have to tell you some velocities up to like near one of six, which is a lot of fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big mark.
[SPEAKER_01]: And things that we like to see from Dylan Beaver's.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's pretty selective.
[SPEAKER_01]: He picks a spots well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Beaver's is a good hitter.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's Major League ready.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to get caught up for the next ten days or so, so he can maintain eligibility for prospect eligibility for twenty-six.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be shocked if we see Bassayo and Beaver's come up over the next two to three weeks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let them play, let them get their feet wet in the majors, and they break camp next year with the Orioles with an attempt to ultimately run at rookie of the year.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Dylan Beaver's [SPEAKER_01]: Really big step forward.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll admit, I was alone.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was high on Pevers at one point.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was really low on them after last year.
[SPEAKER_01]: See them this spring.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now this year, just the resurgence has been so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when you see the underlying improvement, when you see the improvements with the swing, like, when I can get an underlying data improvement and mechanical backup, like, [SPEAKER_01]: I buy into it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, Beaver's is a very close to a top owner prospect.
[SPEAKER_01]: For me, the next guy is a no-taught top owner prospect.
[SPEAKER_01]: One of the better prospects in the miners.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's Bryce Elger's.
[SPEAKER_01]: This video not great here, but mashing, mashing home runs.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's in AAA with the giants and man, they are a lot of fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is going to be, I don't know if he gets caught this year, just be honest with you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Elder did miss some time this year, which could affect the call-up, but he's a legit profile with big time power.
[SPEAKER_01]: The nine percent colleagues have lost these up to near one, oh, nine.
[SPEAKER_01]: That would be one of the best marks in all of baseball, including the majors.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a high-end power.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is legit.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you can see, I this kid has seventy grade juice.
[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: He had a couple of home runs over the weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: He barrels up the ball and insane rates at a six has a sixteen percent barrel rate right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's he matches pitches in the zone, especially over the heart of the plate, but he's probably like an average approaching contact guy, but that's okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to play from a power hit or like this when you have seventy grade, raw power.
[SPEAKER_01]: The power does come naturally.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think the swings.
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't try to overdo it this way.
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't try to hit home runs every time, which I like, but he still has very good bats.
[SPEAKER_01]: Be very strong risk.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just checks all the boxes that you want to see from a hitter.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Bryce Eldridge is a guy that I am very excited about seeing his debut.
[SPEAKER_01]: When does it come?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I guess that's still the question, but ultimately it will be soon if it's not this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, we're out of the Dodgers.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was promoted from the complex to single A and been good.
[SPEAKER_01]: He had two home run weekend, which is great, much needed.
[SPEAKER_01]: The powers there.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's been no denying a mill Morales' power.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's encouraging to see him get to the home runs.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not to a leaven for the season.
[SPEAKER_01]: He started in complex abolishment where the complex starts a month later than most seasons.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he had four hits and two strikeouts over the weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: The two strikeouts is the most notable thing from morale is because there's a lot of whiff in the profile.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's some holes against breaking balls.
[SPEAKER_01]: He'll chase a lot of the zoning ins breakers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those things are concerning at least a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, you got to watch out for that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But there's power.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good athlete.
[SPEAKER_01]: But if he fills out a little more could shift to third base, that would not shock me at all if that were the case.
[SPEAKER_01]: Browns has been good.
[SPEAKER_01]: The surface numbers look good.
[SPEAKER_01]: The power has increased this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you like to see that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And ultimately, it just come down the contact for E-mil or Alice.
[SPEAKER_01]: But okay, a lot of questions about this guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting more and more buzz.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's Victor Arias of the Toronto Blue Jays.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Victor Arias is solid.
[SPEAKER_01]: He, his really put on show.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's when he, like, mashed his balls.
[SPEAKER_01]: Want to seven off the bat.
[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm not mistaken, we're talking to ninth percentile right around that mark.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to seven, want to eight range.
[SPEAKER_01]: Contact has been inconsistent against AA.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he recently promoted.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like we give him a little bit of a break for that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I still kind of wonder about the hit tool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ultimately, I think RAS is, he's a decent, he's a good runner, like pretty good athlete for his size, which is fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that when you can get to that kind of power, you have the hard hit rates you do, like there's plenty of upside and dream on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what's the issue?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's ground balls.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, fifty-five percent ground ball right this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's something to watch for Victor RAS, but [SPEAKER_01]: There's no denying that he's a really, really good hitter.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the matter of can he piece it all together?
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I'm kind of still waiting on.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm waiting to see if we can see it kind of click.
[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe I'll be late on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay with that.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of guys that can hit the ball hard like he does that also hit it on the ground like this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's something to watch, especially when the hit tool, I think still has some question marks.
[SPEAKER_01]: the power's good, there's some speed like he has stolen bases.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he's seventeen stolen bases on twenty two attempts.
[SPEAKER_01]: So pretty good success rate so far.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a matter of like will he running its major league catchers?
[SPEAKER_01]: And can he lift the ball enough and make enough content.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I still think their questions.
[SPEAKER_01]: He struggled to pull good fast balls.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's something that I want to see answered.
[SPEAKER_01]: But there is talent.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not denying that.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's really good power in the profile.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's a fun bat with good potential.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a matter of putting it all together.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so we'll turn twenty two over the next couple of weeks.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he's like [SPEAKER_01]: still kind of young.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's still time for him to iron this out.
[SPEAKER_01]: The swing's pretty linear, which is my concern with Arias, can he get enough loft to play?
[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe not, maybe he can.
[SPEAKER_01]: So still a wait and see for me, but if you like, it's kind of prospect with some good juice like the exit velocities are there for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to do it for today's show.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was the weekend recap of the players that stood out to me over the weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: be sure to check out the website.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've wrote up way more players over the weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: So go click the link in the profile or the show description.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can see the four port of everybody you need to know, but it's going to do it, guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for hanging out with us and we will see you tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a breakdown of my live looks from last week.
[SPEAKER_01]: Until then, everyone take care.
