Alien Earth Episode 4 "Observation" Details

Based on Characters created by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett and H.R. Geiger.

Episode Written by Showrunner Noah Hawley and Bobak Esfarjani

Episode Directed by Ugla Hauksdóttir

Spoiler filled synopsis: Wendy wakes up with her hearing disabled, after she collapsed in the laboratory from the intense sound from the Alien embryo. Arthur adjusts her hearing so that she is able to hear the Xenomorph eggs without it being painful and Boy Kavalier asks Wendy to replicate the sounds and she is able to speak the language of the Xenomorphs in a frequency audible to humans.

Kirsh and Tootles test Trypanohyncha Ocellus (an octopus-like creature) on a sheep, and it implants itself in the sheep's brain. The parasitically-controlled sheep stands up on its hind legs, and focuses its attention on Kirsch who remarks that the creature is highly intelligent. Feeling left out Boy Kavalier insists the creature focuses on him!

Meanwhile Morrow continues to communicate with Slightly and pressures him into revealing his real name as a sign of trust. Morrow convinces Slightly to steal back the Xenomorph eggs, but after trying Slightly contacts Morrow and tells him that it isn't possible to steal the eggs because there is too much security. Morrow pressures Slightly, threatening the safety of his family, who he has tracked down using Slightly's real name. He then directs Slightly to find a human and take them to the eggs so they can be infected by a facehugger. It is revealed that Kirsh is listening to their conversations.

Elsewhere at the Neverland compound Nibs claims she is pregnant, and when Dame Sylvia tries to make her talk about the rescue mission, Nibs becomes violent and is eventually put under house arrest, unbeknownst to her.

Hermit, now up and about and in recovery after his lung transplant, has become jaded after seeing how Wendy is treated more as an experimental prototype than a person. He attempts to quit Prodigy and leave his position, only for Atom Eins to tell him that if he did, he would be sent a large bill for his new lung and never see Wendy again.

Later that night, Wendy observes the Xenomorph-infected lung. As she speaks in the clicks and chirps of the Alien language the Xenomorph suddenly bursts out from Hermit’s old lung. As Wendy appears to placate the young Xenomorph seemingly comfortable to watch and touch the Xenomorph, Kirsh watches on.
