Ladies, what's up?

Speaker 4

What's popping?

Good morning?

Speaker 3

Morning?

Speaker 4

God, thank you, Chris.

I appreciate it.

Speaker 3

Hey y'all do it?

Speaker 4

Huh Hey, y'all doing I'm good?

Are you sure?

Okay?

What's happening over there?

Speaker 5

We go?

Speaker 4

Okay?

Speaker 3

Did it?

Oh my good?

Speaker 4

That was Cray being clumsy?

Yeah, I'm good, okay.

Speaker 6

Yeah.

Speaker 3

What's today?

Speaker 4

Wednesday?

Thursday?

Speaker 3

It's Thursday's thursdayday.

Speaker 4

Noon kickoff?

Mm hmmm.

Speaker 6

I kind of like Moon games, you be able to get something that long?

Speaker 7

Yeah?

Speaker 6

Yeah, somebody brought up that so many of the games, like between the delays?

Speaker 4

Yeah, how many delays?

Speaker 3

Has it been?

Speaker 4

Just one for this year.

Yeah it was just one.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I think it was just one.

Speaker 4

But there was another but but yeah, Philly was delayed.

Speaker 6

There was another night, yeah, d weather.

Yeah, I feel like there was another night.

There's been delays and then overtime.

Like these games that these guys have played have been long.

Yep, very much, so long.

Speaker 4

I mean I know you feel it.

I remember, I know you feel it.

Speaker 6

But yeah, that's it's been weird, like to start the scene to have.

Speaker 4

These long games like, yeah, hopefully this one isn't that long.

Speaker 3

Please just get the job done, wrap it up by lunch.

Speaker 4

It didn't get out please by three o'clock lunch.

Speaker 2

Is but yeah, no, that explains why, you know, Sean even mentioned, uh, these guys playing with two overtime games this year.

Yeah, just the reason for you know a lot of the injuries as well, not the full reason, but a big part of some of these injuries.

Speaker 4

And are you shut what you got for.

Speaker 3

The injury report?

Speaker 6

Yeah?

Yeah, yeah.

Shouldn't be dancing first, right, it's long.

The people that listened to they can't see is we shouldn't be dancing report?

Look all right, So for the Cowboys, it's a long list of humans here.

Speaker 4

Tyler Booker guard ankle he is.

He did not practice yesterday.

Sounds like he is out of the boots.

Speaker 6

No more boots on the ground, so uh, that's good.

Tyler Guidan is still in concussion protocol.

Prayse saints hopefully he's able to get out of concussion protocol.

He did not practice yesterday.

Malie Cookers dealing with that toe injury.

Speaker 8

He did not practice yesterday.

Got to hear from ony Yea Thomas in the locker room.

We're gonna talk about that, I'm sure.

Ceedee lamb ankle did not practice.

The Miles Sanders he's out of booty though.

Sounds like Miles Sanders is dealing with the knee slash ankle.

He did not practice yesterday.

Surprise for a lot of people.

Tyler Smith guard a knee, did not practice.

Sounds like he is dealing with the tender nighters he's been dealing with for a while.

It doesn't sound like it's too serious.

He's just flared up on him.

He actually dealt with this during training camp.

Speaker 4

And missed a couple of practices as well, So no surprises there.

He's just managing that.

Another human that popped up.

That was surprising.

Speaker 8

Cavante Turpin wide receiver dealing with a foot injury.

Speaker 4

He did not practice yesterday.

Speaker 8

That is something to definitely keep an eye out on, especially since he's not only a guy that is heavily involved in your offense now, but he sets your offense off up with the return game.

He had such an impact last last week over one hundred yards even in the receiving game, setting up your offense.

Speaker 6

Uh.

Speaker 4

Kayln Carson knee was limited.

Speaker 8

Uh, this is a guy that you know, hasn't gotten a lot of talkings about.

And I'm sure we're gonna get into yes him coming back practicing coming off IR.

Speaker 4

That's important.

Trayvon Diggs knee was limited.

Uh.

Speaker 8

Jonathan Mingo wide receiver, knee limited.

Another gentleman that is coming back off of IR in that practice window.

And then Kenneth Murray linebacker knee limited.

Dron Bland with the foot was full.

So a lot of guys a little.

Speaker 4

Uh, you know, banged of the ups.

Speaker 6

Uh coming out of that that that overtime game.

And I'm glad Shoddy brought up the fact that the two overtime games and the delay.

Speaker 4

You know, these guys are playing late into the evenings.

Speaker 9

Uh.

Speaker 4

Yeah, maybe that's.

Speaker 8

Starting to wear them a little bit earlier this season.

But yeah, do you guys want me to tell you the jed.

Speaker 2

Oh, let's let's stick with our injury pork.

Speaker 3

I talked to Miles Sanders.

Speaker 4

He looks good.

Speaker 2

He was walking around fine yesterday.

He said he should be fine to play on Sunday.

Speaker 5

Uh.

Speaker 2

Tyler Booker, of course, he is out of the boot, like I should mention.

Talk to him a little bit as well in locker room, and he said that, you know, he's a competitor.

That's why, like Tyler Booker, even though he's you know, kind of sidelined for a couple of weeks right now with that ankle injury, he's taken in a lot of reps.

Something that he did tell me was he loves the way TJ.

Bass plays like.

He loves his tempo, it stays consistent.

He always watches how he gets his hands up quick.

That's something that he feels like he's been trying to emphasize the last four weeks really because he didn't feel like that was something that was his strength, so to speak, in past pro Uh.

So that's something you know, just to keeping out on he's always still working.

In terms of Kayln Carson, yeah, he is a guy that mentally he told me that, you know, it was kind of difficult the last year or so really this whole off season kind of being in that transition of understanding he won't be playing for quite some time.

But to my knowledge, he has been feeling good for a while now.

It just was, you know, the protocol of you know, of course Brown and the coaching staff, they wanted to make sure that he was one hundred percent uh in order to get him actually back on the field.

But he's excited to be back.

He did go back to what he did tell me.

He did fly in his trainer from his hometown.

So he's been working with him for Mondays and Tuesdays as well every Monday and Tuesday then since his off season.

So yeah, excited to see him possibly in the next couple of weeks potentially, But I know as of right now, the coaching staff has their guys.

Of course, Elom's starting, possibly dron Bland, Trayvon d if there's no issues there disciplinary actions so to speak.

Speaker 3

But yeah, no, hopefully we get some other exciting.

Speaker 6

Carson last year remind me, that was shoulder, shoulder, So now did he have a niece?

Speaker 4

It was anything with me.

I don't remember him any This was his knee.

This because this is a.

Speaker 6

New, different injury.

Okay, Yeah, it's been a while since we talked about Carson.

Speaker 4

Yeah he uh yeah.

We didn't get to see him during camp.

Speaker 8

We haven't gotten to see him really at all, you know, And I heard him talk to your point, Nicole, yesterday, heard him talk in the locker room.

He mentioned, you know, the time off kind of helping him get his mental health correct or his mental right.

He mentioned, you know, seeing some of the scrutiny and seeing you know, having to reel hisself in and to not focus on you know, what things people were saying about him and stuff like that.

Speaker 6

Now in regard to the scheme and stuff like that, I mean this, this transition to zone is different for a lot of these guys.

And you know, Kayln, Carson come out of college like this is a pressman corner.

Speaker 4

This is a pressman corner that can tackle.

Speaker 8

And I think that's the majority of your secondary coming out of the draft.

Speaker 6

Each and every one of them is a press man corner.

And so you know, kind of them transitioning to zone.

Maybe this can help Kayln Carson get more comfortable.

Speaker 4

We don't know yet.

We don't know really what he is going to look like in this.

Speaker 8

Scheme, and honestly, the Gouyways need all their depth that they can get at this point, so we'll get a chance to maybe see what he's capable of.

But I do think that what's happened in Trayvon Diggs mentioned that he should start this week.

I think dron Bland, Trayvon Diggs and Ready Stewart are your best three starting right now.

So, yeah, shout out to Kayln Carson for getting healthy and being ready to go.

Speaker 4

And yeah, you have made a good you have made a point.

Speaker 2

Well, you had mentioned that a lot of these guys' strengths was pressman corner, right.

If this is a zone defense, my question is is why are we forcing a zone scheme if you know your guys are better in man.

Speaker 4

That's like kind of I.

Speaker 8

Mean, the scheme is unfortunately, you know what I'm saying, that's what he runs, and that's a part of it's just kind of a part.

Speaker 4

Of that's kind of a part of it, y'all.

Speaker 8

Like it's it's The one of the crappy parts to me personally about some of the football side of things is that you know, coaches have their stuff that they do, and some of them are willing to adjust, and some of them are like, no, you're gonna fit into what I am comfortable doing.

Speaker 6

Now.

Speaker 4

I do think some of the zone coverage and them not even mixing any man as much anymore, Like even when we saw a training camp, don't trust training camp.

Speaker 6

Is also because guys are I mean Trayvon Diggs coming off of a knee, Durron Blant coming off of foot, you know, asking those guys to run all games a lot.

Speaker 4

Now do I do agree?

Speaker 6

You know, eventually you might want to do a little something, little mixed, little song on something, a match man or something.

But I think that they're just trying to get comfortable within the system of Even Trayvon talked about it, what you got.

Speaker 4

Yeah, no, same thing.

Speaker 6

I mean, Ibra Fluse was hired and you knew what he wanted to run, what he's ran when he's been in other places.

And then he has talked about like just because we're in zone, that doesn't mean there aren't those matchups there are, yea.

Speaker 4

And they haven't done that.

Speaker 6

So he's probably like, it don't matter what I'm giving them, Like I'm in a in a perfect world.

This is supposed to be the simplified defense and they're not executing, so why would I switch it up?

So I can kind of see both sides.

But you also have digs who's who said publicly like I I have asked ebra Flus if you know about playing more man, but this is his way and so I have to adjust.

Speaker 4

Hurt that a lot yesterday.

Yeah, hurt that a lot.

Speaker 6

Through my year with someone in college who thrived in man coverage and he struggled when he got to the league and he had to adjust.

Speaker 4

That's just the name of the game.

Speaker 6

And they're struggling, but it's only what are we going into Week five?

Speaker 4

I mean a lot of teams are so struggling.

Speaker 6

We're gonna be talking about a Jets defense that is also trying to get under figure things out defensively into a different type of scheme.

So so yeah, I think that's the biggest reason most he's like Eberflus is a not what's the word I'm looking for, not an old coach, but you know, yeah, old school old school.

Speaker 4

This is his way.

Speaker 3

So from what else, From what else I gathered as well, is that there.

Speaker 2

Have been times kind of like what Brie has mentioned, I'm trying to be cautious of my words.

There's been times where Eberflus has asked some of those guys to press, you know, get hands at the line of scrimmage, and there's been some.

Speaker 3

A little bit of fear.

Speaker 2

Like after you've gotten beat one on one, there's been some hesitancy on doing that.

So they do play a little soft and sometimes they act like I really hear coach saying get up press.

Speaker 6

So there's we seen it.

I mean, yeah, we seen it.

I mean you said, I know what you say.

You know what I'm You're trying to be careful with your words.

But it's on film, yeah, Like you can see the hesitancy.

You can see you can see one side of the one corner looking like they playing press and the other one looking looking like they plans on.

Like it's it's clear that there is some things going on.

People are making their own decisions.

Speaker 8

And that's what I took from the locker room.

Baby, listening to the locker room, I kept hearing we.

Speaker 6

Just gotta do a koche.

I mean, if that's what he say to dude, we just gotta play.

Speaker 4

We gotta ask you that.

I mean, I heard.

Speaker 6

That in almost every interview that came out of the locker room yesterday's You know what that tells me.

That tells me that somebody's repeating that because people are hopefully guys need to just follow the scheme.

Speaker 4

I know it's hard.

Speaker 6

I'm sure it's hard, like if they see opportunities to make plays or whatever case may be.

But as of right now, you gotta play as a unit.

And even with the defensive line, there's times in regard to this game if you don't play your keys, Justin Fielder is gonna make you pay.

If you don't have rustling discipline, Justin Field's gonna make you pay.

The communication and all those things matters.

And I think you know, we've been being hard on Flue ladies about some of the stuff that you know he's doing.

Speaker 4

There's the players are culpable in.

Speaker 6

This as well, and I and buying into a scheme that's this different.

Speaker 8

I know it's hard, and I understand that they have been through multiple multiple coaches.

Speaker 6

But I don't know, like it seems like he's not going to take the training wheels off until you get the basics of what he's asking for.

Speaker 4

And we may not like it.

Yeah, but that's just what it is right now.

Speaker 2

So yeah, all right, pray, Well, we're gonna take We're gonna take our first break.

And there's some other key injuries that I do want to make sure we touch.

Quante Turpin Uh could be missing quite some time, so definitely want to break that down.

Speaker 3

In our next segment.

We bring back more girls boys stop after the break.

Speaker 2

Presented by Visit Line Any SWBC Studio on Cole Heetch and Breonna Aldritch aischen Worsen Lady.

Speaker 4

Unfortunately, we got some bad news.

Yeah, it hurt me.

Speaker 2

Kante Turpin, Well, we don't know how much time he will be missing.

Speaker 3

I'm sure we'll hear from of course.

Speaker 2

The coordinators, but probably Brian Schottenheimer will confirm the exact duration of how long.

Speaker 4

He will be out.

Speaker 2

But he's out for a foot injury to not participate in practice yesterday, which is a tough blow considering, uh, Comante Turpin has been really really good this year, specifically in this offense.

Just talk about how detrimental that is for this offense heading into you know, the stretch of the season.

Speaker 4

Really the second quarter right week five?

Speaker 3

Yeah, second court, right.

Speaker 4

Like it's fine, all right, second quarter?

Speaker 3

I did, It's fine.

Speaker 4

The math was a little not bad.

Speaker 2

But just talk about in terms of game planning, now, what is due for shoddy in terms of play calling?

Speaker 6

I mean, you've been seeing Cavante Turpin do exactly what everybody's been wanting him to be more involved in this offense.

I guess she was talking about how, you know, they're not just having him in the backfield running for his you know life, He's getting involved as a wide receiver.

And maybe some of that has to do with see Lamb being out.

So of course having another guy who's like a little secret weapon if you, if you will, being out.

So I'm hoping, like you said, we'll get the update later, So I'm hoping it's not a long time, but i don't know.

Like the offense, I'm I'm pretty yeah.

Speaker 4

Last week gave.

Speaker 6

Me some optimism about what this offense can do.

So of course you don't want to see Turpin go out, even special teams.

Srensing two weeks ago was talking about when when Turpin's there's things Turpin can do that other human beings can't do, and that's the that's why he got paid, right But no, I'm I feel like it's cliche, but it's the next man up type of thing.

And what we saw from Pickens, what we saw from Ferguson, Brevin span Ford is still a guy who hasn't really been in the mix like that.

Speaker 4

I'm like you just there's other guys to go to.

Speaker 6

And I think this is what makes the Cowboys offense this this year so fun to watch, and especially when Schottenheimer is starting to really get in his play calling bag.

Speaker 4

So tough to see.

But I don't think it's detrimental if.

Speaker 8

You will, yeah, I mean I agree, I agree, Abrie.

I think when you look at the offense, when you look at the offense and how fision they're able to be with passing and running the ball right now, it.

Speaker 4

Is a blow.

I feel like it's more of a blow to your.

Speaker 8

Special teams and setting up your offense and the return ability then it is to the actual like offensive operation as of right now.

I think you have guys that can come in and kind of fill those roles.

Hopefully we get to see that of a thirty four to match with some of that explosiveness that we're looking for.

Speaker 6

But you know, Ryan flinoy' is a guy that comes to mind as well.

You know that's getting more burned and is able to do some of the.

Speaker 4

Reverses as we saw and attack the middle of the field as well.

He has some speed to him.

Speaker 6

Now, who is gonna be the return man because I can't love you to infinity Tobert, Yeah, but I.

Speaker 4

Can't see that the.

Speaker 6

Yeah, well who, ladies, who who would you like.

Speaker 2

To see as a return or if it's d Jaden Blue, he's got the most speed on this.

Speaker 4

I was gonna say, who's our next speedy guy?

See, but it takes a lot of trust it.

Speaker 6

It's gonna say, that's a lot, that's a big ask for your.

Speaker 3

But he took some reps in training camp though it would be yeah.

Speaker 4

So well, they made us think he was bout to you haven't seen him.

Speaker 6

It would goodbye, it would be it would be a lot of you know, pressure on him and and things like that.

But if he did step up to the plate, what a moment, What an opportunity for him to, you know, show that he can be trusted, that he can be sure handed, that he can hold onto the ball and do things like that.

Speaker 4

So I that is probably.

Speaker 6

My biggest concern because start and field position matters, and I feel like, you know, I think the quarterback had to drive ninety.

Speaker 4

Two yards at one point in time last.

Speaker 6

Week, you know, ninety five you know, so you like, hey, can we can we can we get some good returns.

Speaker 8

Obviously, Turping this kind of your motion man as well.

He does a lot along a line of scrimmage.

He's respected in that regard, who fills that role that matters, People honor him.

But Tabreeze point about the you know, just what's coming up in the offense, being able to kind of withstand maybe losing a guy like Turpin.

You look at the schedule, the Jets, these there, this is a team that's struggling offensively.

You look at Carolina, this is a team that's struggling offensively.

Look at Washington, this is another team that's struggling offensively.

Speaker 4

So hopefully you don't.

You know, it'll be interesting to see what they do for special teams though.

Speaker 6

If they go the safe route, they give mister Blue an opportunity.

And maybe it's something where you get on the board first build a bleed and then switch it up, go away from the safe option and see what Jaden Blue can do.

But it feels like I wasn't in the price conference yesterday, but from what I'm hearing and what I saw kind of floating around the writers, it feels like this would be the week.

Speaker 4

Amazing that yeah, an opportunity it would be dope.

Speaker 6

Every week the last two weeks it's been very close.

He's super close.

It sounds like he took a little step closer to close whatever that is for this week.

Speaker 4

So I'm excited for that.

Speaker 6

Obviously, injuries is probably a reason why it's sped up, but this is this is what it's all about.

Speaker 8

That's what happens.

That's how it happens.

Is that guys, you know, get opportunity if somebody says out and it just is what it is.

I think you could definitely use his explosiveness.

We're talking about a Judgs defense that has a struggled to defend the run but also to like the explosive plays.

They will give up exposive plays in the run game.

So yeah, this this is a good to me.

This is a good game to kind of introduce.

And then another thing too is that Javonte Williams as powerful, as strong, as physical as he is, that there needs to be some balance and his ability to get some breaks and so he doesn't wear down as the season goes on.

But even with Cavante Turpin six return six returns last week for one hundred and seventy five yards, I don't know if you're gonna get that from whoever returns, because he's this, this is a specialist.

However, hopefully you can mediate some of that and get some yards some of that hitting yardist back.

Speaker 2

And that's Cavante Turpin really making something out of nothing because they've been hardly kicking to him this entire season.

Speaker 4

Right, I will throw.

Speaker 2

Up, oh but no another guy who oh no?

We have seen through through training camp.

I know Miles Sanders took some reps, but I mean as far as speed, obviously, Jaden Blue is your guy.

Speaker 4

Wanya Thomas took some as well.

Speaker 2

However, he will probably be starting in safety, uh, in place of Malik Hooker.

Speaker 4

But before we get to Millie Cooker, I was gonna ask real.

Speaker 2

Fast, have y'all what's y'alls thoughts on Miles Sanders because I've seen mixed emotions via the writers via Twitter as well in terms of the performance that he has put on this season in you know Aisha you're saying, you know they Javante Williams needs a nice balance, right, you feel like Miles Sanders has given him a good enough balance, so to speak, this year.

Speaker 8

What y'all think Miles Sanders has one hundred and seventeen yards.

Miles Sanders has one hundred seventeen yards.

And I'm not staring to be mean or anything.

I'm just saying, like it had, that's not enough.

I think it's a I think, but break got it.

Bring a veteran I don't know how to say the veteran running back.

Speaker 6

I feel like you have high expectations, but did we like be for real?

Because if you look at the stats, if you look at the stats, Javonte Williams is getting the bulk of the carries and it's not like, yeah, like the offense has had like we talked about last week, but why in the beginning he wasn't getting all these reps when your office is going three and out and then now you're having to kind of go separate way you're starting to lean in the passing game.

Speaker 4

Like it's a mix of when he.

Speaker 6

Has been able those opportunities, they haven't seen what you wanted?

Speaker 4

What was that?

Was it week one or week.

Speaker 6

Two where he had where he got caught by the linebacker and when he almost when you kind of saw the speed wasn't gonna be there, and then the fumble too.

Speaker 4

That although that was that was the that was feeling.

Yes, so that was week won.

Then the phone bow in the real zone.

Speaker 6

I don't think it's the it's not the spicy one two punch that you're looking for, but I don't think it was.

Speaker 4

I don't think he's done enough to be like bench him.

Speaker 6

But I feel like I do feel like we've seen enough where it's like, let's see what Jaden Blue can do.

Speaker 4

I do think that so like serviceable?

Is that fair to say?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

I mean he's come in and made plays when.

Speaker 6

Just again, yeah he's had but I'm saying Jontay Williamson, who's carry the bulk up?

Speaker 4

Absolutely, But yeah, no it's not as well.

I agree with you.

Speaker 6

Is that like the times that he's coming and run the ball, there's some efficiency in between the tackles and things like that and him slipping.

Speaker 4

But the thing is, it's just it's not threatening.

Speaker 6

He has a lot of traits that Dante has, but Javonte does it better.

Speaker 4

So all right, can we get something else?

Speaker 6

Like?

Speaker 8

I mean, well, really they're different in a sense.

They're like Miles Sanders is is supposed to be shifty, kind of speedy guy, but because he has lost some of that foot quickness.

You're not getting that change of pace that you're really looking for.

Speaker 4

The change of pace for defense.

Speaker 8

You know, the idea with a running back by committee is to have a guy dependent on You have a guy that can really hit you in the mouth, be physical, all those things, and then you have a guy that is explosive and the speed.

Speaker 6

Is it's surprising.

It's supposed to take the defense aback a little bit.

But defenses when they see when they're seeing him, they're not.

Speaker 8

Seeing, you know, just immense explosiveness and things like that.

Speaker 4

And he doesn't scare.

He's not a scare.

No, no, no, he's no.

Speaker 6

But with a Jayden Blue if he is able to get out there, he is a guy that people know can run.

Speaker 4

He has to show it, but people know he can run.

Speaker 8

But as far as your question, Nicole, like, I'm not gonna sit the rind poople on Miles Sanders, he just hasn't gotten a whole bunch of touches.

And also too, they have been playing from behind in certain games as well, so that matters.

So it's just it hasn't been really much of anything yet for us to really evaluate to be.

Speaker 3

Fair yeah, and we talk about how much more valuable?

Wow, that came out very bad.

Speaker 2

How much more Javonte Williams gives you in terms of the receiving game, right, he's fourth.

Speaker 3

On the team, I believe in receptions.

Speaker 2

So yeah, hopefully the Cowboys maybe give Jaden Blue an opportunity there this Sunday and see.

Speaker 3

How that kind of won two punch looks.

Speaker 2

But going back to Millie Hooker, there's no definitive timetable on how much time he will miss, but he's out with.

Speaker 3

A toe injury.

Speaker 2

He was in a boot yesterday at practiced.

Just talk about the impact there in terms of now you get Wanye Thomas, who has been fighting for some opportunities the last what three four years, and now I believe he is in a contract year this year.

So talking about Wanye Thomas, how big of an opportunity is this for him?

Speaker 3

And now what does that look like between him and Donoan Wilson.

Speaker 4

Exciting for him.

Speaker 8

You know, Janye Thomas is a guy that people have, you know, wanted to see on the field for a while.

And listening to him yesterday he sounds he said, I practiced like a starter every week.

Speaker 4

So I'm ready.

You know, this is something I've been waiting for.

Speaker 8

And uh, even the play that he made on the block punt.

You know, that's how you get on the field too.

Man, you know, like people can't deny you.

But I do think that he gives you the range that you need at that position, the ability to go from hash to hash.

And also too, he's a gentleman that's not afraid to come help in the run game as well.

I think you get a little bit more speed from him at this point in Mollie Cooker's career.

And that's okay, It's it's totally fine.

Speaker 4

Also too, he's gonna get the opportunity to play against his brother.

I say, yeah, go ahead, talk about it.

Speaker 6

Yeah.

Speaker 4

Now I thought, honestly, I.

Speaker 6

Didn't even know he had a brother that was chosen from the draft and then went to the Jets.

Speaker 4

Yeah, I went to f s u heck of a player.

Speaker 8

Yeah, and uh yeah one year it was like he was like, yeah, I'm gonna go.

Speaker 4

You know, I'm exchange your little and everything.

And then he said he was like, I'm gonna see him on Saturday, but brief I'll talk to I'm gonna give him a hug and you know, and just I mean, what a full circle.

Speaker 6

You're getting your first start, getting you know, getting your first start this year and getting to go you know, see your brother, your family.

I'm sure that that feels warm for him.

We know that one ya comes, you know, one's upbringing and some of the things he went through were really trying, so for him to be here.

I think he makes your defense better on the back end.

Speaker 4

Absolutely.

Speaker 9

Yeah.

Speaker 8

I mean, I know, I know it's hard for people to you know, want to say it out loud, but I do.

Speaker 4

I think he makes your.

Speaker 8

Defense better on the back end with again his speed, now the awareness and zone is something that he is still working just like everybody else.

So hopefully there's not you know, as many mistakes.

But I do think he is a guy that can help keep a lid on that roof.

Speaker 6

So yeah, maybe, And they've been struggling.

The safeties have been struggling.

It looks sluggish.

They're starting to look a little worn down.

We have some older safeties on this team, and I think if this works out, this could be you know, this could be something that doesn't change back once that boot comes on.

Speaker 4

Unfortunately, that's also part of the game.

Yeah, if someone.

Speaker 6

Steps up while you're out, I could definite see that happening, because I think even though you said there's gonna be some there's gonna be some bumps in the road there, right, because he's gonna be adjusting to something new.

But there's just something about him being out there, the physicality, like he said, and his ability to the.

Speaker 4

Energy a little bit quicker.

Speaker 6

I'm sure he's gonna be over communicating because he wants this.

He's been waiting for this, and sometimes you need something fresh, and I think I think this could be something positive for this team.

Speaker 4

What do you lose?

Speaker 2

We've talked about what they gain with Janya Thomas to speed, the physicality without Mollie Cooker, But without Mollie Cooker, what do you lose?

Schematically with him?

Of course the veteran presence, But schematically, what do you lose?

Speaker 8

I mean I wanted to I would like to say that you you miss the fact that he.

Speaker 4

Knows eva Flu's system.

Speaker 6

Hm.

Speaker 4

But he'd be looking like he don't know too, That's what I'm saying.

They all looked, They all look like they don't know half the time.

So I want to say, like in any other conversation.

Speaker 6

I'll be like, oh, yeah, well you're losing a guy that is a telephone from the you know, from the coach to the field.

Speaker 4

But there's been confusion from Malie.

Speaker 8

Cooker as well, even though he knows the system.

So I don't know how much you're losing right now.

Speaker 6

I do think like what Malie Cooker does do in the run game though, shows up, so wan Ye does have some shoes to fill and coming up and tackling in the run game at the line of scrimmage, Mollie Cooker does read his keys pretty well versus the run so I'll say that sounds like, uh, who is that?

Speaker 4

Oh with Sam?

Speaker 6

Sam Williams said that they're having extra meetings.

They're trying to, you know, make sure that they're on the same page and stuff like that defensively, So hopefully guys are starting to get it a little bit more.

Speaker 9

Right.

Speaker 4

I'm sick of y'all, nus.

What are you looking for?

Is it not to say nothing?

Because I'm avoiding the microphone.

Speaker 2

You talked about the communication, Malee Cooker looking a little confused, everybody looking confused, us looking confused us.

Speaker 3

Now, how much more of y'all are sick people.

Speaker 4

It's been confusing suple of weeks.

Speaker 3

Now, does Hooker's absent absence make.

Speaker 2

Communication issues a little bit more of a concern now because now you have Awanye Thomas, who you haven't seen much at the safety position and maybe will he be tasked to that communication.

Speaker 3

Uh role so to speak?

Speaker 4

Or if so, what do you.

Speaker 3

I guess is that more of a concern without Hooker?

Speaker 6

Well?

Speaker 3

And is it not?

Speaker 4

I mean, what is it now?

Speaker 5

Though?

Speaker 4

Dead?

I mean, this is like I'm trying to be not I'm not.

Speaker 6

I'm being serious, Like this is some Eberflus talk talking about before we before we went.

Speaker 4

Into last week's game.

Speaker 6

He said, Schottenheimer said that, you know, he didn't like how practice went and he made them start over and do some stuff.

Then ebra Flus comes in and says, we had the best practice I think all season as.

Speaker 4

They And I'm like, maybe he talking about his YEES unit.

Maybe he talked about his I don't know yo.

Speaker 3

It didn't add up.

Speaker 6

And then they were talking about communication, right they both were like, we worked on it.

We made some subtle changes.

Christy was talking about like the simplest things as like hand signals and things like that did not see those improvements last week, so they don't know what they want to do.

So to her question, I don't think it.

I don't think it's gonna be.

Speaker 4

A drop off.

Speaker 6

Well, if he's you know, tasked with that, what you can only go up?

Speaker 4

That's what With the communication aspect of it, I don't know.

I think other that's a good point.

Here's my thing, and this is just I'm gonna say what I think you know.

I don't know nothing.

I ain't in the locker room nothing, I can't go in there.

I don't know.

Speaker 6

But I will say I believe that a lot of what is going on at this point is the players need to see the benefit of the system.

Speaker 4

Doesn't make sense, like I don't think that they trust.

They need to see results first.

They need to see results.

I mean, they got to go.

Speaker 3

Back and look at what ebra Flus has done.

Speaker 4

I'm tracking that.

Speaker 8

But the issue also too, is that eba Flus had the personnel to do certain things like that, and so I'm not sure that the personnel right now all the way around matches the things that these guys are being asked to do.

Speaker 4

And because they're not.

Speaker 8

Sure of it, that's why they're doing things that they want to do.

That's why the communication isn't as good as it needs to be and stuff like that, because you see it on film, you're like, I think this person is supposed to.

Speaker 4

Be doing that.

Why he doing it?

Speaker 3

I think he's supposed to be right here?

Speaker 4

Why he doing that?

Speaker 8

And so I wonder if it's just one of those things where I do think personally your secondary they should start playing better personally to me with Duran Bland Trayvon who.

Speaker 4

Like, I do like this set because that's we haven't seen that.

No, No, I believe that they should be better.

Speaker 6

And then with one Yeah, if YA only doesn't let people get behind him, if YA only doesn't let people run past him, things should be better.

Welcome Back to Girls aw Boys Talk presenter buying visit line in NEDSWEC Studio and Nicole Hudson, Brianna aldriche Eish Morrison cowboy always take on the Jets.

Speaker 4

I feel like I had to say it like that legit on say at noon.

Speaker 2

Uh, what's y'all's thoughts on this Jets defense?

Speaker 3

Of course they have a big guy up front.

Speaker 4

Will they got some guys that they got some guys.

They've got a couple of guys, a couple.

Speaker 2

Yeah, talk about this Cowboys Cowboys Jets defensive front.

Speaker 3

What stands out to you?

Speaker 4

Guys?

Speaker 6

You know, they got some they got They have a lot of the same broms on defense.

Speaker 4

It's very weird to see, but.

Speaker 6

They got they got some injuries.

They have some injuries.

Who do I have down?

Who's the biggest one.

Jermaine Johnson.

That's a big one.

That's that's hurting their defensive end.

That that's starting to look like a problem over there.

He was hurting too against the Bills with an ankle, so then they had a backup come in for him, and then he got hurt, so he's also on ir now.

And then they have another backup off that come in and it just hasn't been going well.

So their edges it's kind of looking like ourges.

So I think it's gonna be the battle of the interior, honestly.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 8

And then obviously they have a Will McDonald on the edge.

A lot of respect from him in the draft coming out of Iowa State.

He's a guy that's definitely grown, but he's always been a little undersized, struggled against the run, and that shows up as well, struggles and contained.

Can he rush the passer and get after it?

Absolutely, I definitelly expect for him to give.

You know, some of our tackles some issues at times, but as far as containing the run, they're struggling the same way as you.

Twenty eight scoring the twenty eight scoring defense in the NFL.

There are twelfth and third on third down and their twelfth in red zone defense.

Speaker 4

So Andrey looks real, real shakey there.

Speaker 6

I mean they're learning a new scheme, if you will, I know they're they're uh going through it again.

They're trying to avoid going h five, something this franchise hasn't done ever, so there's a lot of heat on Aaron Gunn right now.

Right they hired this defensive minded coach that they thought was gonna come in and solve all the problems in four games, and that is not what's occurring.

And then I think there have some question marks on CB two right now too.

I mean, obviously you have Sauce Gardner out there, who's you know, he's kind of up and down if you will, and he's their number one.

But they met they signed Brandon Stevens.

Speaker 4

Yeah, they think they thought that that was gonna be.

Speaker 6

They signed it for three years and they thought it's not.

Speaker 4

Week one was his worst game.

Speaker 8

He was exposed very much so, and he's he's yeah quickness.

Speaker 6

I would have loved to have a turping out there against him, because I mean, that's who you're that's who you're trying to target this game.

Because absolutely, he's very.

Speaker 4

Much he's on the struggle bus.

Speaker 6

But yeah, literally every position group they having, they're having guys out there who they weren't expecting to be starters.

Some guys have been elevated just kind of being thrown in there, and then they're just making silly mistakes too, like Miami didn't.

Speaker 4

Beat the Jets.

Speaker 6

Jets beat the Jets and that game like, yeah, No, their penalties is crazy on both sides of the ball.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 8

And in regard to uh the you mentioned the defensive tackles.

Speaker 4

I thought that was a great point.

Speaker 6

Brie Quent Williams and uh Phillips in the middle of that defense man, Uh talk about a Yeah, Harrison Phillips talk about a task for TJ.

Speaker 4

Bass and brock Hoffmann.

Speaker 6

I mean, my god, I know that we cannot, but yeah, and those guys having to deal with that interior.

To your point, Pree, that is where a lot of their pressure is gonna come from at this point.

Uh So, Yeah, I think that is going to be difficult for brock k Hoffman and TJ.

Speaker 4

Bass.

But we've seen them play together.

Speaker 8

We've seen them be able to come together and move guys off the line of scrimmage.

I know Dallas is gonna want to run the ball this game.

Speaker 4

Why wouldn't you.

They struggle against it.

Speaker 8

Yeah, they're gonna have to wear on some of those those bigger guys up at front.

So I think that's a matchup to watch Sherwood.

They're linebacker, the middle linebacker, probably the best linebacker they have.

He will come up and tackle, he will blow up some plays, make some tackles for loss as well.

Speaker 4

But he's really.

Speaker 6

Kind of Yeah, they're like when it comes back to their linebacker position, I was gonna say, yeah, they're struggling in their depth there for sure.

And what I saw, the very little highlights that I that I saw, it felt like I was seeing the same play over and over.

The linebackers were getting sucked in on that second level and there was kind of like our secondary sometimes they're not playing up enough and it was just a lot of space in between.

And I saw before Tyreek Hill went out in the Miami game, who was taking advantage those linebackers their little suspect as well.

So I could definitely see Fergie having another big game.

Yeah, oh yeah, it would be awesome to get to get ferget involved in space, matchhim up with them some.

Speaker 4

Of their linebackers.

Speaker 8

Their linebackers are not the strongest in covers, Like I said, even I think Sherwood is the strongest one when it comes to coverage ability.

Maybe try to take advantage of some opportunities there.

Their secondary is also, you know, not as efficient and it's coming up and playing the screen game, coming up and tackling, like I hope Dallas tries to attack there.

And I really am interested in seeing the battle between andre Cisco.

Speaker 4

And Dak Prescott.

That's something that Dak Prescott does a lot.

Speaker 6

You will see him manipulate the safety look, the safety.

Speaker 8

Off, and things like that.

Because andre Cisco is a player, I think that he has the right I think he has some range, I think he has some speed.

Speaker 4

He will come up and run defense and blow up your place.

Speaker 8

So he's a guy that I do think in that secondary outside of Sas Gardner, that does have the abilit to take the ball away but also to come up and tackle and blow up some of your stuff that you want.

Speaker 4

To do at the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 2

I know we didn't get a chance to really dive deeper into the matchup just because there's so many injuries the Cowboys have.

Speaker 3

We had to break that down.

But tomorrow we will get a chance.

Speaker 2

To talk X factors who will be needed specifically tomorrow not tomorrow Sunday against the Jets, and break down the position groups as well and how they match up.

But for today show, I hate shabors it out on the court just and we'll see y'all back here tomorrow at eight am.

Speaker 9

Bye.
