Speaker 2

Cowboys.

Speaker 1

This is Girls Talk, Boys Talk, presented by Invisi Line, trusted by over five hundred NFL players for their winning smiles, and broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World headquarters at the Star.

Now your host, Nicole Hutchison.

Speaker 2

Welcome in to Girls Talkboys Talk, presented by in Visit Line in the SNBBC studio.

I'm Nicole Hutchinson alongside Brianna Alderja.

We got a boy in the studio, Josh rod Rans with that O.

Speaker 3

Gosh, we love it.

Speaker 2

He knows what's going on, you know, what's popping ring in the right energy.

Absolutely, How are you great?

Speaker 4

Thank you for having me on.

I appreciate it.

Yeah.

Speaker 2

I mean if you want to come on any day of the week, just let us know.

We're always available.

Speaker 4

You know, eight a m.

Speaker 3

Every day you need some pink in your life.

Speaker 4

I say that in jest because I usually am here pretty early.

That is true, so anytime hung up.

Speaker 3

See, it's like a thing that he's got it, you know.

Speaker 4

But we've been saying this.

Me and Jazz were here whenever we made or she made the clip.

So, yeah, it's been a thing.

It's been a thing I've been a proponent of way up here.

Speaker 3

Absolutely, you gotta set the foundation.

Speaker 4

And I can'not say it when I'm passing by Nicole in the hallway, what did you say?

I can't not.

Speaker 5

Say every time I see her, like, what's up?

Speaker 6

Yeah?

Speaker 4

That is that is people favor that energy is not fake.

By the way, she's like that all the time.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I don't know how I do it anyways, I have to sit next door at the game.

Speaker 3

Wow, I get a little space from her practice there.

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, that's crazy, but she is this person at the game.

I'm sitting right next to her in the press box.

Speaker 3

Twenty four seven.

Speaker 2

You can't fake it, right, just like the Cowboys offense can't fake it either.

Speaker 3

Get it in there, get ready for the transitions.

Speaker 4

I have to leave.

Speaker 2

Well, the door's not open, So therefore you can't go on.

This Cowboys offense continuing to absolutely ball out and they've been the consistent thing that this Cowboys team has all season long.

Speaker 7

Another forty point.

Speaker 2

Game, forty four points against the Washington Commanders.

Big picture overall, thinking what impressed you guys about this Cowboys offense for your.

Speaker 3

Josh Man, what didn't impress?

Speaker 5

Honestly, this game was like we said a little bit yesterday about complimentary football, but Dak is just playing with his hair on fire.

And I love the fact that his defense actually came through for him, so he didn't have to answer the same question he's been asking been asked every week at practice.

You know, do you feel like you have to be perfect?

Do you feel like you have to be more patient and make up for it?

Does it feel like you're gonna was the game if you punt twice?

Speaker 3

Like that's what that's literally what the storyline was like.

Speaker 8

If you.

Speaker 3

Like, it's just like.

Speaker 5

Crazy, because there was kind of a lot of optimism, obviously Michael Parsons, Yes, but there was a lot of optimism about what this defense can do in a simpler defense under Matt Eberflus, going from Zimber to him, and you just didn't see any of that translate a little bit positivity there in the Jets game and then it just went straight out the window.

When you face the Panthers team you should have beaten.

So I'm really glad that they pulled it together.

But you were also asking questions how does it look with Seedee Lamb coming back?

Speaker 3

When Pickens took over as number one, there.

Speaker 5

Was absolutely no hiccups there, and I'm just excited to see what those two do because who knows if this will be a like we also spoke about a Pickens team the way money is spent and things are handled.

Speaker 3

But I'm gonna.

Speaker 5

Enjoy this because having two true number one wide receivers is hell of fun.

Speaker 4

It's great, and at least at this point, you just want to enjoy the ride.

You want to enjoy the ride that the offense is taking you on.

Dak Prescott and George Pickens has been probably my favorite connection so far this season because you just haven't seen Dak have chemistry like that with another receiver outside of Ceedee Lamb since Dez probably and like even that was kind of a strained relationship because Dez was coming off of Romo and all of that.

So at least for me watching Pickens, anytime the ball's in the air, it's like, oh, this is going to be a play.

This is either going to be fantastic PI or he's gonna catch it.

This is a great play, And for all intents and purposes.

If dak is throwing a fifty to fifty ball, I mean, it's doesn't seem like fifty to fifty anymore.

It's gonna be seventy thirty and either George Pickens is gonna catch it or it's gonna be PI and it's positive play either way.

Speaker 5

Yeah, And what they do for the whole offense, just those two just watching for pop out out of nowhere.

Speaker 3

It's because those two.

Speaker 5

Open up the middle of the field for Ferguson and he's popping off.

We didn't see him do much of anything in the en.

You know, that's here now he can't stay out of the end zone, which every time he scores, I laugh because I'm like, Okay, that boy is showing off.

Speaker 3

He's feeling good.

Speaker 5

But even after the game, you know, I had to write something about the offense, and I just like, they're like, you got two minutes I didn't have.

Like it was so hard because obviously you're you want to start with CD Pickens, but then you have Javonte Williams.

Speaker 3

You know, playing out of his mind.

Fergie's out there.

Speaker 5

Turpin didn't get a lot of targets, but he's a big part of this offense.

And then I'm like, is anybody watching the way Brevin span Ford is coming in there and make taking advantage of his only twenty two percent snaps?

But he is when when they're scoring, he pushed somebody out the way.

Speaker 3

I promise you that.

Speaker 5

So there's just so much to be excited about offensively, and it's a good problem when you don't know what to do with the flinoy who was pretty we were rapshing about him two weeks ago, no targets, but he didn't need to be targeted, and then you have a mingo coming back.

Speaker 3

We don't know what to do with him.

So this is a good problem for this team.

Speaker 4

Yeah, the wide receiver room currently is an excellent problem to have.

I mean, it's it's stacked and granted, at least on Talking Cowboys, we've been kind of critical of the wide receivers outside of you know, running routes.

It's like you have to be able to run block.

And you see that more from George Pickens now, especially this last game.

He's out there run blocking.

He was out there doing his thing.

And we've been critical of guys like Jalen Tolbert where it's like that's not as that's not his game, it's not as prevalent for him.

But being able to see that now where the offense is clicking sort of on all cylinders.

And when now that you see jeff I Tei Williams, which they haven't seen a running back like this in a while, a physical guy that is going to get you yards, it makes those receivers want to run block because it's like we need we need these yards, we need to get down the field.

And that's just an added bonus.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 2

I got a chance to have brock Hoffman on Cowboys Hour yesterday yesterday night, and I'd asked him like, did you expect this offense to be this good at this point of the season.

He was like, Nah, I know it was going to be good because we got, you know, individual pieces and what we've seen on the film and things like that of what they could bring.

But as a color elective, no, And so I thought that was pretty unique to hear.

But when you talk about George Pickens and CD, Shoddy had mentioned it yesterday, you know in the press conference about how it was time for CD to finally get that that compadre or that brother you know want two punch.

Speaker 3

Let's get started.

Speaker 4

I don't think people that seak Spanish.

Speaker 2

Hey, it's getting there.

It's okay, all right anyways, But yeah, I know it's time for him around his career now, you know, to finally have that that that guy on the other side, so to speak, to help him with this production, because he was getting doubling for his entire career.

But what I would love to have seen is finally to get George Pickens and Cede Lamb one hundred receiving yards.

Can we like claim that for next week?

Speaker 6

Maybe?

Speaker 4

Bold prediction?

Speaker 3

Is that a bold prediction?

Speaker 5

I think it's a I mean, if we're doing, uh, why not right forty four the longest catch and seventy four yards your other longest catches possible?

Speaker 9

Hey?

Speaker 8

Why not?

Speaker 2

Right?

Speaker 3

Possible?

That those explosive plays, man, is that gonna be a.

We got the one and only good Morning Football in here and that yeah, even a little bit.

Speaker 12

I'm talking Cowboys first, a.

Speaker 4

Talking girls, talk Boys talks right right.

Speaker 7

We love the Talking Cowboys crew.

Speaker 12

You're talking about talking football today?

Speaker 2

Absolutely a Cowboys offense.

We already talked about a little bit of Dak Prescott.

But I do want to ask you, guys, when you look across the league right now, where does this Cowboys offense rank in terms of explosiveness and versatility?

Speaker 13

Versatility, I would say that it's up there.

Explosiveness, I would have to say it's probably top five.

I would say it's top five.

Speaker 4

Who are the offenses that are are above the Cowboys in your opinion right now?

Speaker 13

Well, prior to last night, I was gonna say the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Speaker 12

They're definitely.

Speaker 4

I still think that they're explosive, and Mike.

Speaker 13

Evans being out is going to affect that absolutely, But still he's not I mean he needs too.

Yeah, obviously, God one's still gone, so that is a very threatening offense.

Who else do we have to put some respect on?

You have to put some respect on the Eagles.

Even though their passing game is just starting to get going, they still have the double headed monster out there that obviously showed you what they're.

Speaker 12

Capable of this prior throwing the ball.

Speaker 13

Throwing the ball, yeah, too low is figuring it out as an officer coordinator over there.

Speaker 12

Who else is explosive offensively?

Speaker 4

I would say, I mean, look at the Broncos.

Speaker 10

Yeah, look at what the Broncos did fourth quarter against Nights.

Speaker 4

Points in the fourth quarter in the last six minutes.

Speaker 3

I thought that was a joke.

I looked at it.

Speaker 13

And then in terms of strategy, I would say the Chiefs.

You always have to be concerned with the Chiefs.

They just are.

They just got their last infinity stone by getting her she Rice back.

So now they have a she Rice.

They have exaber worthy, they have you know, they got Hollywood.

I got all the guys.

They have a lot of weapons.

Speaker 2

Somebody asked, what will it take for Dallas to be number one in your eyes?

Speaker 13

For Comant Turping to start figuring out life.

Yeah, if he started to figure if he became a legitimate threat, like consistently, then you you would be in danger zone because that's three guys that can threaten the safeties and you're going to be concerned with two.

So that's why teams that have three guys are absolute problem.

Speaker 4

What did you see from Kamati Turpin in this last game as far as receiving goes?

And he didn't get a whole lot of target targets, So I'm curious.

Speaker 13

Yeah, I honestly didn't pay much attention to him out to go back and watch.

I feel like Urp has to continue to build on his confidence.

And I think his biggest his biggest competitor has been himself.

Yeah, and then when he comes to the receiving game, I think that he's fully capable.

I think he has good releases.

I think he runs good routes.

I think in prior years he hadn't been that confident in his catching ability.

I think he has improved upon that substantially through training camp seeing him his growth.

Speaker 12

But I would like to see him get more chances.

Speaker 5

I was gonna say with sorry to interrupt, I was with Pickens and Lamb getting fourteen for getting seven, Like is.

Speaker 4

That more of distribution?

Speaker 5

Yeah, Like I feel like he kind of phased, Like I was just saying before you came, like we were just popping off on Flinoyd two weeks ago about his you know, breakout game.

But it's like, this is a good problem to have because you don't need him.

So again, like I thought Turp would be used more because of his speed and what we were talking about, yeah, going into the game, but yeah, one target, It's like, what can he do?

Speaker 3

Or is that just him not getting open?

Speaker 12

I don't believe the.

Speaker 4

Target's going to jail October two.

So I mean, like, to me, it's like, get Cavanti Turbin more involved he now that he is healthy.

I think you're going to see that a little more, at least for me.

What was kind of staggering in the difference between training camp and now is that during training camp he was jumping for every reception, he was in the air every time.

He was kind of one of those body catchers situations, right.

You see that a lot less and less and less now as we progress through the season.

And that's one of those things that were told many times that receivers that do that cannot get out of that.

That is just the way that they catch the ball.

And you're not seeing that now because a large part and due to what Dak Prescott is doing and getting the ball to its spot right and getting Kamanti Terurpin in good space and getting him the ball where it needs to be.

So I think that's a big part of it is Dak with Kamante Turpin.

And of course, like we're saying all of this is possible, we're able to say we're one of the most explosive offenses of the league because what Dak Presso is doing right now, I.

Speaker 2

Think Cavante Turpin, you have to also keep in mind like that injury, right, and he had told me that that foot injury was kind of like nagging a little bit before he actually set out.

Speaker 7

I believe it was Green Bay, right, yeah, green Bay.

Speaker 2

So I think they were just trying to be a little cautious of putting too much on him in his first game back.

Speaker 7

So let's just keep that in mind as well.

Speaker 2

But in terms of Jalen Tolbert, obviously this offense is clicking with Ryan Flinoyd now stepping in as technically a three or four wide receiver.

Speaker 6

What's y'all's thoughts on JT?

And uh does that.

Speaker 3

Concern you at all?

Speaker 2

With Ryan Flinoy now doing what he was doing previously, another two.

Speaker 13

Completely different receivers, then neither one of them can do what I guess the other can do.

I mean they don't, they compliment each other, they don't share the same skill sets, so I don't there's gonna be games where Illinois is a better option.

Speaker 12

There's gonna be games with Tobert is a better option.

Speaker 13

I think Tolbert's your your biggest, probably most physical receiver that you have in that room.

Speaker 12

That's just th Rever Tolbert.

Yeah, I saw.

Speaker 13

Mingo hasn't shown us anything yet, so I can't throw him into that into that category yet.

But if Mingo was playing then yet, he would be your guy.

But Tolbert is your he's your possession guy.

And even though people haven't, I mean, Tolbert hasn't been consistently what you would like for him to be in terms of, as you know, between the lines receiver.

But you can't forget about the fact that last year this dude has seven touchdowns.

So, I mean, like, as much as you would like to see more development out of him, he produced last year when they relied upon him when they didn't have anybody else to go to.

So he's still viable option.

He just doesn't do anything flashy.

He's not fast, right, He's not.

He's not very quick, He's not he doesn't do a lot of he doesn't not great with the yak yardage.

He just he's a possession guy.

Speaker 4

He's a possession guy.

But as a defense, is there anything about what Jalen Tolbert does that kind of like, oh man, I need to watch out for this guy.

I need to account for Jalen Tolbert.

Or can you confidently say I can go one on one this guy and I'll probably.

Speaker 12

Be all right?

Speaker 13

I think you feel pretty confident that you have a good chance on him one on one.

I mean, but there's a lot of receivers in his league that are just like that, you know, So, I mean every receiver on your team is not supposed to be dominant.

Some guys just have to be role players.

You know, you have too dominant ress.

Speaker 4

That's what he's done.

Speaker 12

That's what he's done.

Yeah, that's what he's done.

Speaker 4

What about you, Nicole?

Speaker 3

Oh, I'm sorry?

Speaker 8

What?

Speaker 4

No?

No, Like, I just I want your thoughts on this as far as like Jalen Tolbert his role in Kavanti Turbert not seeing as many guitargets and curiousity on your side of things.

Speaker 2

I've talked to JT, and without like saying too much, I think that he had the expectations of getting more opportunities despite GP being here.

Speaker 7

He truly thought that what he did last.

Speaker 2

Year and the year before, being that reliable target, he felt like he was gonna get more opportunities.

Speaker 6

But he hasn't gotten that.

Speaker 2

Obviously, you have Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens of course carrying the load.

Also Jake Ferguson now in his bag as well, since you know, after his slump in twenty twenty four.

But then you have Cavante Turpin, who, even though he hasn't been consistent, he brings a little bit more different aspect or type of game so to speak, than JT does.

Speaker 3

So I think that I don't want to say too much.

Speaker 2

But he feels like he's doing more of the dirty work, more of the blocking and things like that.

Speaker 6

A role player.

Speaker 2

Yeah, but which is unfortunate though, because this is a contract year for him, you know, and so it I think he would would have liked to at least give you showcase a little bit more.

Speaker 13

But the reality is he's the sixth best option on this offense.

Yeah, he's the sixth best option on his offense.

You have let's go you want to go down the list, Let's go see thee Lamb, George Pickens, we get Jake Ferguson, Javonte Williams, Cavante.

Speaker 12

Turpin, and then you have Tolbert.

Speaker 4

I think that's Iloy exactly.

I mean I I don't think he's there.

Speaker 12

I think we said we seen one game out of Flinoida.

Speaker 5

I mean you know what I'm saying, like we have the Cowboys nation is turning on Tolbert, but because you see if Flinoy coming there and make an impact, It's exactly.

And I think Tobert again last year, he was supposed to be number two, and I think the the also because of what that offense looked like.

It was a mess.

But I think Mingo coming in here and then giving up that pick was kind of your first like okay, like, yes he's getting he's leaving the room, but it's also because of what they had.

And then I think Pickens was a clear sign is they were not this is not your role anymore.

Speaker 3

And everybody was at his locker as.

Speaker 5

Soon as the Pickens trade, and you know, this is gonna get me more, you know, competitive, but it's also gonna make me better.

Speaker 3

And he's just faded more and more.

Speaker 5

And then Flinoyd comes in and fading more and more, and then when Mingo gets healthy, I think it's going to just continue.

I don't think Jalen Tolbert has a I don't think he has a spot on this team going in the future because of what other guys have been able to do.

But I will say anytime Schottenheimer gets a chance to praise Tolbert and what he's been able to do, he does.

Dak has a lot of respect for him.

Again, he's not the flashy guy.

He's not getting a lot of targets, but Dak Prescott trusts him and we've seen even this year in big moments that he will throw the ball to Tolbert.

Speaker 13

Look at it like this, and this is just the reality of the game.

Right, you understand what your role is.

You may would like to have more opportunities.

Right when I was here, Shoot, I didn't get you lies for anything, you know what I'm saying.

But it's like there I had freaking too and PC and like there's other guys.

Okay, those guys are much better than me.

Speaker 12

I get it.

Speaker 13

Okay, cool, So you revert back to your role, like how can I contribute?

That's what Tolbert is here, and it sucks on any other team and maybe it would be different.

But I give you, guys, just an example.

On the cancer the Chiefs.

We know that coach Reid does a great job at distributing the ball, getting it out to everybody.

Mahomes does a great job.

Do you know who their six best option is?

Speaker 12

Juju Smith?

Speaker 13

Oh?

Speaker 4

Okay, Juju, he's their sixth best.

Speaker 13

He's the six best absolutely, Okay, you guys, Xavier, You're worthy, Hollywood Brown, Rashi, Rice Travis, Kelce, Isaiaha Cheko.

Speaker 12

He's their sixth best option.

Speaker 13

Now they still find outay to get him in the ball, but you're not hearing his name with the expectation of him making big plays all the time.

He's a he's a role guy, regardless of his abilities on that roster.

He's a role player.

So you have to understand that.

Yeah, you're Tobert.

You make contested catches.

You're not quick, so everybody, it's always gonna be a contested catch, right, somebody's gonna be in your hip pocket because you don't create separation.

Speaker 12

That's just that's your style of play.

Speaker 13

And you you make contested catches, you make you you're good in the red zone, okay.

Speaker 12

And you're a blocker because you were one of our bigger receivers.

That's your job.

Speaker 4

And impressive catches too.

Speaker 12

Yeah, he's had some really absolute like that's your job and that's okay.

Speaker 13

And guess what, when your contract's up, somebody out there is going to value it and it most likely won't be the Cowboys, and you have to be okay with that.

Speaker 4

You just have to put your best foot forward absolutely while you're here.

Speaker 13

The best tape you can put, the best tape you can out there so that somebody else sees what you're capable of and says, I want that.

Speaker 5

Yeah, you'll definitely have another team don't give you the look.

Speaker 2

I know you mentioned Jonathan Mingo shot.

He talked about activating his twenty one practice day window yesterday in the press in the press conference, So talk a little bit about him.

Speaker 7

The expectations.

Obviously they traded for.

Speaker 2

A fourth round pick for him, Obviously want to be a little cautious and ramping those guys up.

But uh, yeah, Jonathan Mingo, expectations for him when he does get healthy.

Speaker 3

Okay, you're looking at.

Speaker 4

Me like, I don't know, I don't know what the expectations can be at this point, Like we're talking about what you have Tolbert as your sixth best guy.

You have Flinoy who's on the come up, and you know, had one great game.

But it's like you would like to see more of that.

Where are the target's going to go for Jonathan Mingo at this point?

Yeah, And it's like I wish that he were healthier early in the season so that he could already be in this sort of rotation of guys that are getting the ball.

But at this point, it's it's like you said, it's a great problem to have.

I'll take it.

And this is the NFL.

Injuries are going to happen.

So you know, who knows when the next opportunity is going to be for him.

I want to see him out there and if he can contribute more than what we're seeing from Turpin or JT.

I mean, yeah, I'm down to see it.

I just haven't seen it.

Speaker 12

Yeah, and what have you seen from Mingo that you feel like this offense would need?

Speaker 4

Oh?

Nothing yet?

Speaker 13

I mean just being realistic, like that's it.

So, like what do I expect to see out a Mingo.

I expect for him to be one of the core special teamers.

That's what I expect to see out a Mingo.

Speaker 4

You would love to see yack ability from I would love to see that because of his frame, because of his ability.

And I does love to see a guy that because we have a lot of receivers.

Titans included that it's like they will get the ball and that's where they're stopping.

Speaker 13

But who are you swapping out for Mingo?

Are you swapping out Turping?

Speaker 2

No?

Speaker 4

JT?

Speaker 13

Are you swapping You're swapping out JT for Mingo just to see you know what I'm saying.

So, I mean, so, I mean if you're going three wides, I mean, who you got to take out Turpin.

Yeah, how often do you go four wides?

Speaker 12

Not often?

Right?

You know what I'm saying, So like he's a special teamer.

Speaker 2

Let me correct myself.

His twenty one day practice window is coming to an end.

Said that wrong.

Speaker 4

Oh yes, I want to make sure that he has to be activated by what is it, Wednesday?

Speaker 3

Wednesday?

Speaker 2

And uh shoddy said that they will activate him.

Let me correct that as well, but keep sorry, so they will activate him, They will activate him.

Speaker 7

This is where he said, somebody else.

Speaker 12

Will be sitting now or else or else.

Speaker 4

He is on i R the rest of the year if he's not activated.

Speaker 12

So who are you taking off the roster?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 3

He said?

Speaker 13

You know what I'm saying like that, those are those are those are the hard question, the hard answer, hard situation is that these that these front office people are faced with, because like, if I'm taking somebody else off the roster, you I.

Speaker 12

Have to know without a shadow of a debt.

Speaker 13

I can't hope, I can't wish, I can't think that you're gonna make a contribution.

I have to know where you're going to impact this team.

And if I know that it's not going to be a receiver because we're just loaded there right now.

Okay, barring any any injuries, then you have to be a core special teamer.

You and Sorenson need to be hit the hip.

I need to know you're on punt, punt return, kickoff, kickoff return.

I need you on all four of those, and if you can't be on all four of those, you gotta go.

Speaker 12

Speaker 7

First meeting.

Speaker 4

Air not a good idea.

I've got a lot of sip ups on air.

Speaker 2

So we all boy have you how's that going for you?

Speaker 4

That's all right?

Last week they've never listened to my movie podcast.

We're just saying much worse things.

Oh.

Speaker 2

Actually, speaking of the King of movies over here, if you could describe this offense the way that they're playing right now, like a movie that you've seen, what are you going with?

Speaker 3

Oh, that was off the dome.

Speaker 4

That was impressive.

Impressive, I was impressive.

I'll reference a movie that you definitely have seen, Apocalypse Now, directed by one Francis Ford Coppola.

Yeah, uh, it's an air raid.

Speaker 3

Tells what that's about.

Speaker 4

It's a Vietnam or movie, but a lot of air raids and like really impressive.

Yeah, bombs in the air.

And how about Oppenheimer.

But it's like Shottenheimer, h what is it?

Speaker 12

All?

Speaker 11

Right?

Speaker 4

Now, you're not just one best picture two years ago?

Killian Murphy right now?

Alright, have seen?

How about how about you?

What film would you reference?

And please don't say I don't even know.

I don't have to say the Toy Story or something.

Don't I was gonna say.

Speaker 7

The Toy Story.

Speaker 2

I think I have this right, I've said it.

Speaker 3

No, that's my problem.

Speaker 2

I don't only be remember in a lot of movies, but Avengers maybe.

Speaker 3

That's what I like.

Everyone vibe okay.

Speaker 6

Coming together.

Speaker 5

And I was saying very well when I was that's the one fad will when they all came to start whopoping butt with the stones, right, that's.

Speaker 4

The Infinity Stone stones.

Speaker 3

Yeah yeah, there's like.

Speaker 4

Five Pickens and CD and Zack and yeah.

Speaker 3

Yeah one bad.

We're here.

We're here like that.

Speaker 4

I am inevitable.

Speaker 5

Okay, step Prescott, Okay, but we need to step talking to the game.

Speaker 4

What about you?

Speaker 2

I was, Oh, she's going to go there.

Speaker 4

Yeah, oh you're going the vendors just stealing her right.

Speaker 3

Literally basically, you know, we're like this.

It's people in the buildings that we look like, yeah, that's the truth.

Don't get it all the time?

Truth that is not okay, Yeah, we'll talk about that later.

Speaker 2

Yeah, anyway, all right, run game the glasses, Yeah, maybe or something else.

I don't know, sorry, but.

Speaker 4

I think it's that other thing.

Speaker 2

Bet Okay, all right, run game took a step forward.

It's been consistent with Javonte Williams, but of course against the Carolina Panthers just thirty one yards on the ground, but Javonte Williams nineteen carries one hundred and sixteen yards, averaging six point one yards per carry, and it touched down the longest.

Speaker 3

Thirty three yards.

What could y'all say?

Speaker 2

Has impressed all the most about Javonte Williams this entire season.

Speaker 4

How physical he is.

I did not expect that.

I kind of thought he was sort of a I don't want to say gadget player, but I thought he was just going to be more of a shifty, you know, make guys miss running back.

And to see how powerful he is and how he can just drag a pile across the field, it's really impressive and something that I haven't seen probably since like Zeke's rookie year or DeMarco Murray like that.

To me, his run style is so similar to what DeMarco Murray was providing you with just absolute power.

Yeah, and granted you haven't seen the fumbles at the same clip as a DeMarco Murray, even though you had a crucial one in Denver or sorry, Chicago.

Yeah, to me, it's just how physical he is.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 5

I mean I spent one his rookie season with him in Denver, and I think he was He came in as that physical back, That's why everybody was excited for him, but he wasn't that.

Speaker 3

Explosive guy like you said, the shifty guy.

Speaker 5

We've seen him get those explosive runs, and I think it's a lot of credit to what this O line has been able to do.

Tyler Booker back in there, I saw what him and Terrence still are able to do.

If you really watch what's going on on that film, it's so impressive and they've been doing it consistently.

And I know there's been some you know, going in about what Karen still, if you look how strong the line was supposed to be, was your weakest part, if you will.

But when they're together, I think it's just a step up in this run game.

And then it's basically Jontay Williams able to just you know, find the holes.

Last week they weren't able to do and they were getting stuffed up there and getting bullied up front.

But they took a huge step this week as an OH line and then Tyler Smith obviously and they're healthy.

Just seems like where the plan is to where Tyler Booker and Terrence still are blocking off and then just follow right behind Tyler Smith and it's a touchdown every freaking time.

Speaker 3

And it's so fun to watch.

That's what I was gonna say, is that fun.

Speaker 2

You've noticed the fact that they're really trust the fact that Tyler Smith can do a lot of pooling concepts and sin Javonte Williams behind him.

But I mean this offensive line, considering they've battled injuries, they haven't had their starting five throughout the entire year, but now they're starting to get a little bit healthy.

What if y'all notice the difference in terms of the lineup, So like you have brock Hoffman obviously at center, when you bring in a Cooper beb what's kind of the difference there when you have those different.

Speaker 4

I think Cooper Bby is deceptively strong, like I don't think people give him enough credit for that, and how he's able to sort of hold his spot.

At least for me, brock Hoffman is going to be that more vocal leader, which a lot of people are aware of.

I mean, they see the EyeBlack, they see what what he's able to do is in terms of like getting the gathering the troops as if you will.

And the chemistry is there for sure, but I think you miss sort of the stability that a Cooper baby brings you.

I would love to see more of that.

But then again, you have two really impressive games from brock Hoffman.

Panthers came notwithstanding I don't know what happened there that was awful.

And then if you considered this last game where they were like, oh, yeah, let's put Scoon maker, let's have him blocked around pain.

Speaker 7

At the why not, Reverenspanford, We're going to do that?

Speaker 4

Well, why put a tight end on that too?

Speaker 3

But you're gonna do it?

Why not?

Speaker 4

I understand, But that was just a questionable thing.

And so it hasn't been perfect by any stretch.

But if you look at the Jets game, and now you look at this this last game.

It's impressive what Hoffman has been able to do and sort of keeping that chemistry, but you certainly miss Cooper BB in certain ways.

Speaker 5

Yeah, excited to see bbe working his way back in because there's a reason why he's a starter in Brock Hoffman is not.

And it's just impressive that Brock is able to keep this thing more than just a float while your starting center is out this much longer.

But I think it's also some of the things BB's able to do, especially handling.

I've literally can see him handing off two people at once multiple times to your point, his strength, what have you.

But again, the luxury we talk about it, this is not normal in the NFL, Like you can't be out for guys on the old line and have it run as smoothly as it's been.

So shout out to Clayton Adams and what he's able to do.

I look at Nate Thomas, that's another guy that you can because we were like, wait a minute, some people are like be out playing.

Speaker 3

Does he have a permanent spot when he comes in?

Speaker 4

Yeah, it was an argument, at least for us, I thought it was an argument.

Granted I would still go with Tyler Guyton, but at that point it's like, well, I mean you almost just didn't see a drop off period and almost better in certain circumstances.

I think it just depends you kind of wish you could just mash those two players together to create one perfect Yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I think I think Nate Thomas's footwork is a little bit better than Tyler got in terms of consistency.

Yes, in terms of power, it's more of your Tyler guyt And let me ask you all who y'all think it should be starting left tackle, Nate.

Speaker 3

Thomas, Yeah, Tyler.

Speaker 5

And again it's it's just the investment in Tyler guy into like it's he's always going to get it.

He has to do some pretty awful stuff consistently to get out of there.

Even though Sean Himer, you know, it's the competitive who's the best on the field.

But I do feel like Tyler Guyan has definitely take a big step up from what last year, especially talking about just like the penalty issues and things like that.

As a team, we didn't really get into it today, but some of those so those drives that were negated from some of those penalties, was like, I think even the Jaden Blue.

You know, I'm waiting for Jaden Blue to pop off, and I'm like, who, but you know some of those penalties, I'm like, all right, But now there's a lot to be excited about.

And this old line isn't perfect, but Dak Prescott damn near is.

And that's why the old line looks cause I see some guys getting through.

I see some guys getting through long and Dak Ground knows how to.

Speaker 3

Get rid of that ball.

Speaker 5

And it doesn't look that bad because he did take a lot of hits in this last pay back, but he took a lot.

Speaker 3

Of his So I thought you were.

Speaker 4

Gonna say, I would say, just to count your point really quick.

You have seen Shatten Heeimburn use the you know, compete every day mantra.

I mean it's been in practice.

Look at Mazzie Smith being inactive for several games.

I mean that is a big choice.

Granted you had the first round pick investment in that player.

I don't think that's the similar situation to Tyler Goyton because the ceiling of what Tyler Goyton is going to give you eventually, and that just takes more repetitions, and at this point you kind of know what you have in a Massie Smith, So you know, I don't think he's willing to just say like, oh, well, we invested the first round pick on Tyler Gotton.

He needs to be out there whenever clearly Nate Thomas is the better option, and that's it's not clear.

Yeah, and those guys are competing those they're competing, that's the keyword.

Speaker 3

That's fair.

Speaker 2

Who on this offensive line has taken the biggest step this season from week one to week seven?

Speaker 7

Well, now week eight, Oh my.

Speaker 4

Goodness, his biggest step?

Who do you think, Nicole.

Speaker 2

I'm gonna go with, Well, Tyler Smith has been the most consistent, so I'll stick with that, but I'll go with the biggest step.

Speaker 4

Yeah, you asked the question.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I know I'm gonna say Terrence Steele.

Speaker 2

I'm gonna say Terrence Steele just because obviously, even throughout the last couple of years that I've been here and covering the team, Uh, he's been one the miss consistent.

But he's always had issues in terms of his blocking consistently, and they've always had to.

Speaker 3

Bring a little help with a tight end.

Speaker 2

But I feel like he's now able to win more one on one battles.

Speaker 7

That's what I've started to see over the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 2

Uh, him improving and food work has definitely improved as well.

But I mean he's been like that reliable guy who what he said, Dayling Tolber, that reliable guy for this offensive line that has battle injuries really the last couple of years.

Speaker 3

So I'm gonna go with T.

Steele.

Speaker 5

I don't know if I'll say the biggest step, but I would say who's impressed me the most and living up to the hype is Tyler Booker coming in Unlike how we saw a guy in kind of having to you know, get a custom and going through that.

I feel like Booker has been pretty state the most part in I'm not a huge film gal, but when I do see him on film, it is him taking care of his gap but then also keeping an eye on what's happening is left and he's his ability to be able to shift over and keep you know what, whatever way the line is trying to go in that run game.

And Uh, this is just exciting because I'm a big run run ball.

First ye have, girl, you don't get to have these fun conversations and I just think, again, credit to him and what Terrence still, to your point, are able to do on that side.

That's the way they've been running a lot, and it's solid and it's fun to watch.

Speaker 3

But I will go with Booker.

Speaker 4

For me at this point, the most impressive has been Brock Hoffman Brock.

It is football Brock, like you were talking about in Cowboys Hour Yesterday Shots Nicole shots to Brad shamp uh Miller like Cowboys Hour Downal Dallas, Cowboys dot Com, check it out, it's the best and uh the interview was great and just hearing him talk about how that mentality changes as soon as he kind of draws on the eye black and he's ready to go out there and messing people up, you know.

But for me, the impressive part about it is that you really haven't seen a large drop off in Cooper b being out Like I don't think anybody has really been like, oh God, do we need Cooper back right now.

It hasn't been that because he's been consistent enough for you to be like, I think the offensive line will be okay, and to have him to re sign him in the off season and keep him here was one of the most crucial things you could have done, because what kind of situation will we be now if it was just not a no name guy, but a guy that they would have had to have developed all of that.

To re sign him was such a clutch idea, and I'm glad they did because he provides something that you don't necessarily have in your starting offensive line, just that kind of grittiness because it's not like he's scared going up there as a backup.

Speaker 3

He's actually nuts.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 3

I didn't know this.

Speaker 7

Before, but he's a little psycho and it's.

Speaker 4

Bround bison and eggs and yogurt.

Dude, Like, I don't want to mess with that guy either.

Also, give me.

Speaker 2

Some It was definitely different.

Tried it, tried it.

I'm just gonna let Yeah, we did like a little cooking segment and made it.

Speaker 4

And all that was really you not check it out?

Come on?

Speaker 2

Sorry?

Speaker 3

Sorry sorry, sorry, Wow that's happening.

Speaker 7

But no, he's a little psycho.

Speaker 2

He smiled when he said that he enjoys driving guys downfield and pancake pancaking.

Speaker 8

Man.

Speaker 2

I love that.

Speaker 3

I love that for him.

Speaker 2

He's a psycho.

Speaker 4

Pancakes who doesn't.

Speaker 3

A luxury a luxury, and not a luxury for this team.

Speaker 7

You know what else is a luxury?

The Cowboys win in week seven.

Speaker 2

Forty four twenty two, the final, but we're gonna break down more film, of course.

The Cowboys take on the Denver Broncos in week eight should be a good one.

We're gonna dive into the film tomorrow.

Speaker 3

Or the next couple of days, and it's gonna be a lot.

Speaker 6

But but Josh, we.

Speaker 3

Appreciate we do.

Speaker 4

But hoing on first any time.

Speaker 2

Love always, Isaiah, stand back, you to go hopping on for brion Aldridge.

I'm gonna call out to say we'll see y'all back here in the morning.
