1 Peter 2:13-25

First century Rome was not kind to Christians, yet Peter is writing that all followers are to be subject to certain human institutions for the sake of the Lord. We are free to submit in honour and love to those who are even unjust. It is how we honour authority that speaks to how we understand Jesus being Lord of all. And Jesus understood clearly what it meant to suffer unjustly, which ultimately was for our salvation.
