Episode Transcript

Speaker 1

Get into Gate.

Speaker 2

Episode three hundred and eleven took an s g A the final wrap up.

It's the final rank, Mitch and Maddie here and to do a rank, and we really got to clear the pipes here as it were with some with some star.

You're what we needed for this rank.

Speaker 3

Well, I love you, Mitch, but sometimes you grip is just not is not where I.

Speaker 1

Need it to be.

Speaker 3

Just you know, you forget episodes sometimes and you know you're not You're not quite present in the rank.

Speaker 1

And I'd say you just need a more experience hand.

Speaker 2

Well we done that he has too, Yeah, yeah, very good.

Is that your left hand on top of the right.

It doesn't matter, doesn't matter.

Speaker 4

You just couldn't strap yourself in the Jeesus the stranger.

Speaker 3

He sits on them both and then they're both the stranger.

Speaker 2

I was gonna say, Brendan told me that, but then how do you teach that?

Never mind, scrubs, I sat on.

Speaker 3

Your hand because if you can't feel it, it's not gay.

Speaker 1

I felt at once.

And then after that that we're good.

We've got it.

Speaker 3

We're gonna Tondres just don't exist any actually, just here joking each other.

Speaker 4

Singles, get your hand off my leg please.

Speaker 2

This is what we had have you to sit in the opposite sides of the studio for the first you know, a bunch of years.

Speaker 3

Now, Oh, there's parts of me that can still reach, don't you worry.

Speaker 4

For those who don't know, this is Brendan.

Speaker 1

Hi, Brendan you.

Speaker 3

This is the first episode someone listened to who's this guy?

Speaker 4

Who's that?

Speaker 3

Well, they've just listened to like Vegas.

They started with Vegas God, and then they went is perfect.

Speaker 1

Some people might that.

I'm like, oh, that was a piece of shit.

Speaker 2

You know, I'll start there and see how they go with a shit episode, and then you know, a good discord.

Speaker 4

People people like people like Vegas.

Oh.

Speaker 2

I saw one of the comments I think maybe on our Patren and said, oh no, I love this one.

This was so much fun this episode.

People are going to hate it.

Speaker 4

Yeah, I had to shut that down.

It's actually ranked quite high in on IMDb seven point nine.

Speaker 1

Wow.

Speaker 4

Okay, yeah, so.

Speaker 3

I mean that's high for a season five episode.

Speaker 4

I mean they're all great.

Speaker 2

Well, I had always said that the amount of times, like we've always said that, because you know, we released a whole bunch towards the end of like especially in December, and so me editing at like a break net speed the amount of episodes.

Speaker 4

That I was just listening to where it started off with.

Speaker 1

You Maddie saying, this seems like the missing episode.

Speaker 3

Of Stargates, and there was there was two this season that I have no memory on it, and then another one.

Speaker 2

You're like, this may as well have been another missing episode because you had very little.

Speaker 3

I have more memory of origins than I do of it was it remnants and.

Speaker 1

Outside that's insulting.

Speaker 4

I'm like, hey, I can quote Nagada.

Speaker 1

Even though we could all quote ship.

Speaker 4

Yeah, those ones were so sick DHD.

Speaker 3

He was saying at the end there lost interest.

Yeah, absolutely and the harsiest.

Speaker 1

Did you see what it looked like when you were going through the wormhole?

Speaker 4

I did star stars?

How could you?

Speaker 1

How could you?

Speaker 4

Though?

Speaker 3

Yeah, your your eyes have been dematerialized.

Speaker 2

Yeah, some of my kids.

I was enjoying some of Stargate.

Sorry, Samsung Plus may as well be Stargate plus Samsung Plus the free seven Stargate channel.

Speaker 1

I know.

And I said to you, guys, I just took a photo.

Speaker 2

And they have they'll have one ad they might have two ads and then I'll just pop up and say Stargate returns in a minute forty seven.

I'm like, why not just get back into it now, Guys, like, why do we have to sit here and wait for something with no other ads to play?

Speaker 1

Pea break well that, yeah, you know what?

Speaker 3

Or a white down break depending on if it's an episode, an episode with Keller and a cans out, Yeah, you're gonna need a minute.

Speaker 2

I'm just saying with the good people at Samsung, they should just take snippets of our podcast and say, hey, if you like this show, maybe like this podcast.

Speaker 4

Clean up Aisle three in the Glue Aisle?

Interesting?

Speaker 3

Interesting you sae greet people at Samsung.

What what phones.

Speaker 4

Do you two have again?

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, I'm not missing with an Apple TV though, No, God, I'll watch I'll watch Apple TV Plus through my Samsung tea.

Speaker 3

I just said, like, I've got a Samsung for and a Samsung TV.

A's a long time and.

Speaker 1

You complain about it sometimes.

Speaker 4

Anyway, I've got blue balls.

Speaker 1

Let's get it.

Speaker 2

We have got twenty episodes, one of them, two of them.

Rather, that's how a double part of works two of them into into one as far as the rank goes, we've got nineteen to get through, a top six, a bottom six, and a pretty middling middle seven that we're going to get through.

Yeah, So that's what we're That's what we go and do of Stargate Atlantis season five, as we do each and every time, we're going to start off with our bottoms.

Yes, we go from our sixth worst all the way down to our worst episode of the season, and we're scoring this like golf, which we just had to explain to matter how golf works because he loves the sport.

Speaker 4

Hey hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, which is my camera?

Speaker 1

Is that my camera?

Speaker 4

Just everyone should know.

Speaker 1

If you don't know, you see that ye see.

Speaker 2

That hole under twenty four.

It looks like it looks like an American football jersey T shirt?

Okay, sure, but what is it?

It's a hockey shirt?

You know?

Speaker 4

Got that shirt?

Speaker 1

Quick?

Montreal Metros great?

We called the Metros ye show?

Speaker 3

Okay, yep, what's good?

Heated rivalry, heated rivalry?

Yeah, yeah, I'm living and breathing it.

Yeah, slipping in my DMS.

It's an amazing show.

Speaker 1

I'm sure it is.

Speaker 4

I don't know what you're talking.

Speaker 3

About it's the gay hockey show that's taking over the world.

Speaker 4

Ah right, it's amazing, and that's what it's called.

No, that's one of the players.

Or Crave if you're in Canada.

Speaker 1

What or Crave if you're in Canada.

Speaker 3

Crave I think there is their version of Stan ah right.

Great people, great fantastic people.

Speaker 4

So usually we do like a nickname for each of the episodes because I'm not going to remember what was infection again, what was identity?

Don't know, let's just give it a nickname.

Speaker 3

I didn't know what it was when I press play no, so we got through.

Speaker 2

We'll go to yeah, right through from the top to the bottom, first episode of the season through to the final one and give you our I'll get it a gate version.

Speaker 1

Of the of the Snops.

Speaker 2

It's a little a little one, a little one word snap some that I'm going to let me read.

Speaker 1

Okay, just for okay, So do you want to read them then?

Speaker 4

And no one, No, I wrote them so that you could with a box of shame for Mitch.

That's the case search and Rescue, which is of course that that piece of audio made on Stamsung phone.

Great people, you can tell.

Speaker 1

How Timmy Shepherd dream trapped under a rubble, uh.

Speaker 4

Carter cartifired, cartifired, was that that episode?

Yep?

Speaker 1

I thought it was number two.

Speaker 3

Number two is when he joins the joints, right, Okay, the seed and yeah, that was search and rescue the first episode.

Speaker 1

Second episode was the Seed Keller as a hive.

Woolsey was hired, so cartified Wolsey hired.

Speaker 2

Number three was broken Ties, which is a brainwashed ronan and brackets, not a.

Speaker 4

Spoiler, Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1

That was the whole Jacob thing, right.

Speaker 3

Jacob, and now they decided that was a spoiler.

Was very glad that you've clarified.

Now, Mitchell, I'm glad that you've clarified.

We had that audio of you saying that it wasn't a spoiler when I said that that was a brun and brainwashing.

Speaker 1

As long as we're clarifying.

Speaker 3

Things, Bredon knows way more about than I do.

Speaker 2

Episode four Deadalus Variations, which is the old reality, which is I'm going to call it Slider's Stargate, Ghost of Machine Friend as Doctor Weir, the Shrine.

Speaker 4

Of Silence, the crickets.

Speaker 1

Why do I have to read what you wrote as the shrine I don't remember.

Oh yeah, I'm bullshit, you don't remember down syndrome dumb and dumb?

Speaker 3

Was that I couldn't think of the guy's name from something about Mary.

You're the Franks and Beans, gut To.

Speaker 2

Whispers, the All Girl SG team, the Queen Taylor as a queen, pretty simple tracker.

Keller kidnapped by invisible invisible arm band guy, visible arm band guy.

Speaker 3

Was he invisible or is he just like, well, you're right, it could be a teleport oh yeh, because didn't he teleport up the small job?

Speaker 4

I think it was.

There was some bits in it though, where you're like, there's yeah, because Ronan's gone, there's footprints here, and then there's not.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 4

You can kind of teleport.

Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, you're right.

Than invisibility.

I always this one always reminds me of like Aris Boch.

Yes, yes, yes, it is VI, Yeah, very much.

Speaker 2

I was watching a Hallmark Christmas movie last night and I'm looking at the dad of the main actress and I'm like, where do I know this guy from?

I know him from something, and he's usually a.

Speaker 1

Bit of a bad guy.

It was that guy was that?

Speaker 2

It was the Tracker guy, and I was kind of disappointed to find out it was him, because I'm like, oh, Tracker anyway, first context.

Speaker 3

You're gonna be disappointed when you get the universe.

Speaker 2

Then okay, good Doctor Daniel Jackson and the as Guard.

We need no other introduction to that double episode Outsiders.

You didn't even write anything for this, but that was I couldn't remember which what was the one where the Wraiths show up to that village and go, oh, you give us all the people.

Speaker 1

That are immune to the disease to take him off an.

Speaker 4

Experimental people were like, get rid of those people.

Speaker 2

They killed their own people, blew them up underneath blah blah blah.

Speaker 1

Inquisition.

The Trials sary for the clips show The Prodigal, which.

Speaker 2

Is of course the death of Michael, had the Joker from Batman eighty nine death falling from the top.

Speaker 3

Of the speaking of Yes, my beloved, Heated Rivalry one of the main characters in that.

Speaker 1

We are less than ten minutes in we with two mentions of heat rivalry.

Yeah good, it's topical.

Speaker 4

It's topical, guys.

That's what I use.

Topical oatment.

That's what I needed while I was watching it.

Speaker 1

Trust me Time the fifth.

Speaker 3

That sort of things started Agett in Raw No.

One of the two main characters, not Hollander, the other one rosen Off.

He played the Joker in No.

Sorr.

Yeah, he played the Joker in Joker, the one, the one that was in the guy that actually did the at the end or whatever.

Yeah, And that was how he got his SAG card.

That was one of his first action gigs.

Speaker 4

Topical how he did the thing sag Carden.

Speaker 2

Remnants, which is of course the other lost episode, the other last episode, which was Woolsey's little sex fantasy.

Speaker 1

That's right, and et that sort of did the hologram.

Speaker 3

And then the chick from Genie from down Under.

Speaker 2

Yep, and uh and what was it?

Shepherd daydreaming of cool.

I mean, we all, we all love a little bit of.

Speaker 1

Him, Brainstorm, Bill Nigh and Neil Degrass Tyson.

Speaker 2

Of course, Brendan loves that guy.

Infection, the zombie Wraith and the ship is infected identity which is Keller and the body swap with tit's McGee.

Speaker 4

I've always that.

Speaker 1

Vegas.

Enough said which the description of.

Speaker 2

That episode shout out to Maria, Maria see Sie Atlantis.

Yeah, that's pretty much what it is and enemy at the gate.

We're going to San Francisco.

That's it, all right, Who would like to go first?

Reading out the details?

Speaker 4

Let's go, Mattie.

If we can have you from the top of your bottom, have you on your back all the way up to the hairy car bag angles behind the ears.

Speaker 3

Here we go in the number fourteen position for me in the top spot of my bottom section Outsiders Outsider.

That was all on the because it was a forgotten episode.

I had no memory of it.

I had no memory of it, so I.

Speaker 4

Mean fair enough.

Speaker 3

It was fine when I watched it.

I wasn't bored or anything.

I think Mitch and I said on that I said to you on the day like it was.

I was kind of like matt until the double Cross of the double Cross at the end where the you know, the the you know guys get blown up and stuff, I was like, Okay, that's that's a different ending.

Speaker 1

So that was kind of interesting.

Speaker 3

In the number fifteen spot was Infection, which was the other lost episode for me, the zombie zombie Wraith and.

Speaker 4

Stuff like that.

Speaker 3

Todd's back yeah, with with no hand vagina that he miraculously gets back two episodes later offscreen, that's a shame.

Number sixteen was Whispers with the all female list G team, which you know, you know me as we say, I'm the feminist of the group.

I should love that, and one of the one of the actresses was from Start as Redax from Deep Space nine.

But it's just just all the misted and the fact that those monster thingies never come back ever again, and the really bad plan with the glow sticks and the well and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 4

And Beckett's cracking onto the young girl all that dude.

Speaker 1

Okay, it's like, where are you from Minnesota?

Sorry?

Said behind her, Like.

Speaker 4

Would that say you boot?

Is that your Scooby Do impression?

You doing that?

Speaker 3

Number seventeen, which is the you know what we say the number three position.

The third worst of the season for me, higher than I expected the seed Keller being turned into a into a hive ship.

Speaker 4

Number eighteen.

Speaker 3

My second worst for the season was Inquisition the clip show with the trial uh And as a surprise to nobody who's listened to the last eight episodes of this podcast, my bottom episode for the season.

Speaker 1

Vegas, I hope that's what you're going for.

Speaker 4

Weird way to say inquisition.

Oh dear, so that's my bottom six.

Speaker 1

I can go.

Speaker 2

Top of my bottom six.

This will piss off Maddie.

I actually had vegas there, I said to you at the time.

Actually I didn't hate it.

I'd been told how much I was gonna hate it.

Speaker 3

But I you also like procedural kind of stuff.

I mean, there's so obviously it's not going to be higher up for you.

If Mushka was in it, I'm sure it'd been your top.

Speaker 4

Three, but it didn't deserve Yeah.

You you enjoy a You enjoy a procedural cop show, So I do know.

Speaker 1

I mean.

Speaker 3

She was also the original Dulcia.

She was going she was going to be Dulcia in the Power Ingers movie and then they lost mate.

Speaker 1

Yeah, she was fine.

Who we got?

Speaker 3

Oh yeah, well I think I've seen you the Pit of RuSHA Hargey dressed in Dulcie is outfit.

Speaker 1

Thank you so much.

From all that was my heat of rivalry.

Speaker 4

Yeah, from the blood rushing from your head to your other.

Speaker 1

Head, thank you.

I then have the Queen.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I just just didn't really give too much of a shit about that.

Episode Number sixteen was the seed probably, Yeah, higher than I like you said, higher than maybe it was otherwise going to be, but you had this high Madi Bits Outsiders, I've got my third bottom.

Speaker 1

I think when I was ranking, I was thinking more about how.

Speaker 4

We spoke about how we spoke about.

Speaker 2

It more in the podcast, and we just sort of said, you know that, like that that annoying guy that was going around, you know, wanting to turn his own people in over and stuff, and.

Speaker 3

Yeah, trusting Wraith more than you know, other humans in the galaxy.

Speaker 2

Yeah, number eighteen was tracker, Like it felt like one of those much earlier s G one episodes, but just you know, like again one of the one of the poorer ones.

Speaker 3

I feel like if the show hadn't been canceled, he probably would have got a return, Yeah, because they seemed to like Mike dopud but again like they didn't get old mate Riss Box back.

Speaker 2

No, and he's nowhere near as much fun as a great comparison, but like nowhere near as dead Man's Match.

Speaker 3

Yeah, maybe that's what Maybe that's what the reboot needs.

Speaker 4

We need it.

Speaker 2

We need the trio, just renaming what is dead Man's Bitch Arris Bitch.

Speaker 3

We need the tree, we need Aris Boch, this guy and Vala as just a.

Speaker 1

Little old water team, a.

Speaker 4

Little trio of of little guns.

Speaker 2

High Yeah, and my worst of the season, and Maddie's gonna call me a chauvinistic pig whispers.

Speaker 4

I'm just a yeah, you know, liken there.

Speaker 2

I think I still had some fun with that episode, but like it just who really gives a ship?

Speaker 4

Like we got teas some.

Speaker 2

Michael stuff at the start, and then it kind of went nowhere.

It was like the after effect of some Michael stuff and we're getting introduced this team, but we don't really do anything with them.

Speaker 4

And if you like horror movies, this isn't scary.

It's nothing like For me, it was just like, OK, can we just come on with this?

Because where it is in this season.

Usually if you're watching on the DVDs, you know this is the last season.

You're like, come on, let's get on with it.

Let's let's finish this.

Speaker 2

There's a reminder like that throughout this episode, more of them towards the back end as well.

Speaker 1

You're placed here.

Speaker 3

Yeah, and Whispers also reminds me of I think it's because of the mist and stuff like that reminds me of that one from season ten of s G one, the one for the where they were all falling asleep because of.

Speaker 4

Oh yeah, the little sleep bug.

Wolvesy was in that too, Oh was he?

Yeah?

Remember that?

I'm pretty sure that.

Speaker 3

Oh no, that was that was the bugs that eat the meat loft bugs, meat loaft bugs, you know the ones where they're on that Misty had defined the lizard lizard.

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, that one, good old.

I can't believe they just came.

That is so bad that I'm currently doing a rewatch, my first one since we started the podcast, so I haven't seen SG one for nearly ten years, so rewatching it with my son.

It's been honestly one of the best rewatchers ever.

Man, and Tilk is so good.

And then you talk about what we just said, Tilk's finding Elizabeth like you wouldn't find that before Jesus.

Speaker 2

Well, you know, when I first found that Samsung Free channel, I turned it on and I knew which episode it was, but I had misplaced it by three seasons.

It was what the all female Jafar team seasons, That's right, And I'm like, pis I'm looking.

Speaker 1

I'm like, oh my god, how good is this?

Speaker 2

Sargate like again nothing I hate nine and ten or hated Atlantis, but it's just something at.

Speaker 4

The SG one picked the aesthetic.

You know, I was peaked at seven, but for me it ended once at the end of season eight.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Yeah, it's like we've.

Speaker 4

Had four Stargate shows, not three like it just that was a well they did also in the show, like four times.

Speaker 3

There's the end of season five and of seven, end of season seven, end of season eight and then so yeah, and then the end of season ten.

Speaker 4

So the end of the show five times.

Yes, which was great because we were spoiled.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

Those season finales for like five, six, seven, and eight were epic.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 4

Yeah, my what are we doing?

Bottom six?

Y?

Okay, bottom six?

Seven?

Vegas is not in my bottom now anyway?

Who had I did the bottom seven?

I'm going fourteen?

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 4

Ghost in the Machine, the bitch.

She's dead.

I knew it.

I knew it.

Speaker 3

No, she's not fran she's floating in space.

Speaker 4

She's she's a floater.

Speaker 3

If if Niam was able to come back, at some point, someone's going to find that body and scoop her up and then she's back.

Baby, She's going to ascend and then she did in the books.

Apparently apparently she she did ascend, she was able to ascend and then retake human form, as Tory Higginson makes sense.

Speaker 4

Yeah, number fifteen, my going down to the worst remnants.

Jeni, what is it?

Five point zero?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 4

With Colier, Oh yeah, Colier Colier.

Speaker 3

Well, I think even when Coli was killed in season three, we were both just like, and that's it for Collier, that's it.

Speaker 4

Well we're hoping, Yeah, we.

Speaker 3

Had like I don't think either is remembered that Collier comes back as this sort of you know, imagination thing.

Speaker 4

I guess technically it was the end of him.

But next I've got broken Ties brainwashed Ronan.

Speaker 3

Oh my god, I just realized it's broken Ties.

And then the guy's name was tire Tear.

Yeah, maybe it should have been broken Tires.

Speaker 4

With Shane Gillis whispers is my third worst to get that reference the guy that.

Speaker 2

I showed you that's a great Trump impression the other week, the extent of comedian.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that guy, he looks like Mackay.

Speaker 4

That's his joke.

Speaker 2

There's there's there's the great clip of him talking about the Special Olympics.

But then I've seen him talk about the bit about the special and it's like, I would never even play on this podcast.

But it's one of the greatest punchlines I've heard.

Speaker 1

It's fantastic.

Speaker 3

It sounds like a cricket player.

When you said his name, I thought, Shane, Yeah, yeah, it sounds.

Speaker 4

He'd be dragonful.

Speaker 1

He come out and smacked the guards, so he doesn't.

Speaker 4

Yeah, totally second worst for me Outsiders, and the very worst one for me inquisition that the clip show trial.

I mean, we've gone we've done this so many times to quote O'Neill, We've done.

Speaker 1

This to quote O'Neil.

Speaker 4

Best.

Speaker 1

We could do the best we can do poor.

Speaker 4

I tried Prisoners SG one did it better?

Charmed did it better?

Speaker 3

And that's saying something because it was a late season Charmed episode, so.

Speaker 4

And actually ranked the worst in IMDb with a six Is it wow?

Worst of the season on that.

Wait, how does that compare to Emancipation?

Yeah?

What did you say?

It was six point two or something.

Speaker 3

If it be emancipation, that's it has to be talking about yourself.

Speaker 4

We're googling ancicipatient five point nine.

Speaker 1

I'm pretty sure emancipation.

Speaker 4

The Stargate episode Politics is seven I'm like, what, no.

Speaker 3

Politics is five point nine as well as.

Speaker 4

A time changed it.

Yeah, more people have been voting.

It's a tie.

Speaker 1

Both my two favorite episodes from season one trifecta.

Speaker 3

Grace was far from my favorite episode, but I didn't hate it as much as Brendan does.

Speaker 2

I randomly turned on Samsung the other day and I just saw some alien faces and I was like, I don't think I remember this episode.

And then just the the aesthetic of the space they were feeling, and I'm like, is this space?

And then it's sudd I'm like, I'm not even gonna I was up wrapping presents.

Speaker 1

I had nothing better do it.

I don't even think I'm.

Speaker 3

Gonna Grace seven point one.

Wow, Okay, bit of a resurrection remember.

Speaker 4

The one with the girl clone of.

Speaker 3

Seth that like the one that the one that Amanda Tapping directed at like the end of the Yeah, the glass box glass box to the redhead chicken glass six point eight.

Yeah, there was some good bits, but and emancipation is five point nine.

Speaker 4

Bullshit, it's about all right.

I told you God, I didn't told you so.

Speaker 3

Actually, someone on the discord, I wish I brought my laptop someone on the discord set me and it's like it puts it all into a graph.

It puts all the IMDb ratings into like a graph for you and shows you.

Speaker 4

Like the that's what we need spreach sheet.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

Yeah, if someone wants to do a spreadsheet of our ranks, that'd be great.

Speaker 4

Our ranks.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 3

Someone was asking about that family six point seven.

That was That was the season two episode with Ryo.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well fair enough.

We could have told you that.

Speaker 4

What about fifth Commandment?

Fifth Commandment?

Was it first commandment?

First Commandent?

Speaker 3

Why do I say fifth because it's the other Robert C.

Cooper episode, First command six point five one False Step six point seven.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that's a banger.

We made it a bang.

Dicking the grin that's one of my favorite things of this show Alien.

There's weird plant Aliens dicking the.

Speaker 3

Ground, yep, trying to get to that mother plant, trying to get their mushrooms to touch the mushroom.

Speaker 2

I pulled in today and Brennan was was waiting and I pulled up, were in the window, and I've got my kids here, Maddie, and I said episode how Brendan, I'm just explained to the kids about the podcast, and I was just talking about, like, you know, the difference in things that are the same, and like, you know, there are other starget podcasts, I said, but with us, And I said, you know, we've had a few differences along the way, and I'm like, I was building up to something as I pulled into the driveway when I saw Brandon's so all of a sudden, they had this break in the conversation.

I said, anyway, so we come up with a thing called poop Planet, and you can throw that into the same realm as Tilk was hunting for a lizard while we talked about the poop Planet.

Speaker 1

It's like, what the fck is going on?

The transcript of this episode is going.

Speaker 3

To be disclosure six point five.

Speaker 4

All right, I'm determined to find.

Speaker 1

Something to want to validate.

Speaker 3

I mean, there's no point going through season.

Speaker 4

Yeah, it's emancipation.

Everyone knows that.

Stop looking.

Speaker 3

It's literally I told you that, it's literally too Emancipation and Politics are the only ones I can find under six.

They're both at five point nine.

This is a stitcher.

I blame our listeners.

Speaker 4

Actually, our listeners are great.

Speaker 3

Wait wait wait wait this can this This will be my third Heated Rivalry mentioned.

I'm determined because this is it's Canadian show.

The main character is a Canadian.

I'm convinced that he will one listens to Stargate or watch your Stargate, but two potentially listens to our podcast.

Speaker 4

So I don't believe it.

Speaker 3

He wait, wait for it, Okay, he's in he's in the hospital bed right.

Someone comes to see him and he calls them over, and when they come over and touch his hand, this is what happens.

Speaker 5

You ready, come on that delivery co Stargate fan for sure.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that's Holander.

Come try wait.

Speaker 2

Un till he sees your your shirt with his name.

W MA, oh god, crossover, can't imagine.

Speaker 1

Stug it Heated Rivalry, the crossover the world has been waiting for.

Speaker 2

Talk dirtier Middle seven.

Maddie, you want to go first to this one again, and we're going to be starting from number thirteen, number thirty, the way.

Speaker 1

To the seven to the hearing mail.

Speaker 3

Oh it's getting up there, number thirteen, the Queen, number twelve, Tracker, number eleven.

I think this is its first mention.

Speaker 4

The Prodigal.

Speaker 3

Never been a huge fan of Michael, and this is one of his weaker episodes.

Speaker 4

Yeah, and it was kind of just like the storm in the eye at two point.

Speaker 3

Oh.

Speaker 4

For me, it was just good call.

They just come in and it's just kind of the same thing.

Speaker 3

Actually, this is something I gonna ask you because you're a parent, asked Mitch when we did this episode as well.

There's that moment where Taylor's running with the baby and she goes and puts the baby into like the little hidden panel in the wall and then hides with the baby.

Now, I feel like Taylor in the past would have hidden the baby and then gone out and kicked some masks, but instead she went hid with the baby.

Speaker 4

Do you find that like that.

Speaker 3

Matches with her character now that she is a parent, that that is something that you buy Taylor doing or did that seem a little out of character for what we know Taylor to be.

Speaker 4

I think it's okay for her because she's what single parent?

But what no, no single parents useless.

He's useless.

He was dead, might as well be might as well be.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I think baby got more screen time than him.

Speaker 4

Maybe that was just his acting.

Speaker 3

Oh shit, No, I don't think we've actually had to see him non rathe fight.

I think like in the start of the season he got non rath fight and we never saw him again.

Speaker 4

That's why I just assumed she was a single parent.

Speaker 3

But yeah, so where's he?

Speaker 1

Where is he?

Speaker 4

World?

Banging bitches is the dirty eth Osians as you say, Maddie, No, that's low pitch.

Speaker 3

That's low pitch that talks about bagging bitches.

Speaker 4

I think it's okay for her because some what if the baby's because they're after her or the baby, the baby there after, the baby after the baby, so she kind of has to smother it in case of cries.

Speaker 1

Right about to ask you because I said not quite like that.

Speaker 2

I said I would have if I was a woman, and I'm not.

But like, having been around and been a parent, stuff and the baby stuff, you stick it on the.

Speaker 1

Booby, shut it up.

Speaker 4

I'm going to shut you up to God.

Speaker 2

Yeah, but I do that.

I do that for funzie.

Smothering myself with a boob, that's what I like, really shucking.

Oh you'd like smothering the baby with the boot as well.

Yeah, death by motivoat is what I'm saying.

Speaker 4

Right, Yeah, that's fine because there's heaps of other people on the Landis that should be doing the defending.

Speaker 3

Other thing is that it should be doing the motivating, that Taylor should be motivating.

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fine in my opinion.

Speaker 3

Ah so that was number eleven in the number ten spot Broken Ties.

Not a spoiler with Rownan getting brainwashed.

I do wish he'd shaved his head.

Speaker 4

That would have been cool, but yeah, that would have been sweet.

Speaker 3

The irony being that, you know, for seven seasons Chris Judge was like, can I please grow some hair?

Can I please grow some hair?

Four seasons in Old masis like, can I get rid of all my hair?

Can I shave my head please?

Number nine Remnants, number eight Search and Rescue the season opener, and number seven tit's McGee identity, identity.

Speaker 2

My number thirteen, I've got the prodigal Yeah, like just Michael being a bit weak, like him sitting there just like pandering to Taylor over even though he had all the power, and it was just like at any moment where she wasn't going to buy into his bullshit.

He was like, Oh, you just saw the concern in his eyes.

I'm like, I feel threat had a bit of an episode.

Speaker 3

Yeah, and dressed like Finster from Power Rangers.

Speaker 4

A little leather apron.

Speaker 1

But didn't pull it off as well.

Speaker 4

He looked like a bloody Tokra.

Speaker 3

Yeah yeah, well no, like he's looked so much more menacing in other episodes, and this it just.

Speaker 4

Looked like an old man tinkering in a workshop.

I never liked the character personally.

Speaker 1

Yeah, my number twelve far higher than what than what Brennan had it, And I understand why you got it there.

Speaker 2

I've got inquisition And it probably goes back to what I was saying to Maouta in the podcast, saying that I feel like there was an interesting enough episode there without the need for the clip show.

Like it worked, it worked into what they were doing.

But every time they I'm like, no, no, I actually want to understand the consequences and the consequence of the consequences of the idea of these guys from a foreign galaxy being there, thinking that they're helping and finding out about like all my women that's sitting there going, oh, my planet died because of the guys that you helped unleash and blah, like I would love to see that sort of trailer body that was interesting, but instead it was showing what had happened and pressing play on some old and.

Speaker 3

As I said, it would have been better if we'd actually been able to watch Shepherd just like get a piece of fruit and a bowl and be like.

Speaker 4

And like act it all out.

Speaker 2

That well, that was that was in The Prodigal as well.

I remember I said that was Michael.

Well that's right, because it started off and then it went back with like twelve hours later.

I recapped how Michael got there, and it's like he walked into a room and I don't know how recently you watched that episode, Brendan, but he like walks into the room and he says to his other Wraith, now it's time to begin.

And then it cuts back to the present and Taylor goes time to begin what And I'm like, are you were you quoting itself and you're retelling of the story.

Speaker 1

You're sad Michael.

Speaker 3

And then I walked in readjusted my junk.

Yeah, now it's done.

Speaker 1

I have a huge slug tailor pitch number eleven.

I've got infection there.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I didn't mind running around in a hive ship and sort of you know out there and yeah, you can get all mate.

Then got identity, which I'm looking at now and going it's probably a bit high, But I think I appreciate it at the time.

Speaker 3

Well, yeah, he's no larn Your hard always belonged to Lamin.

Speaker 4

He didn't like identity, like strap yourself in first to you.

Speaker 1

Yeah, oh god, okay, I didn't.

I didn't not like.

Speaker 2

I think what I appreciated the most was the fact that they let the other actress play you know.

It wasn't like Keller or rather dull State had to play not Keller walking around, had the other woman act like Keller.

They actually let their personalities even though we were led to, you know, where we just have to believe that the characters are seeing a different face.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 3

There's a great two part in season four of Buffy where they do a body swep episode and Sarah Michell Geller as Buffy swaps with Eliza Dushku, who's like the other Slayer, like she's like the bad Slayer, and they swap bodies.

So the whole episode you've got Sarah Michelle Geller playing Eliza Dush's character.

Speaker 4

Yeah, and even in the opening credit should have done it.

Speaker 3

Even in the opening credits they changed the open credits.

They episode just say starring Sarah Michelle Geller as Faith in Buffy the Vampires and then guest starring Eliza as Buffy Summers.

Yeah, it's done so well.

Speaker 2

About like something like Face Off and people I've taken people like, oh, yeah, johns of Volter plays the good guy, and I'm like, no, he doesn't, He's the bad guy.

They're like, nobody starts.

I'm like, he plays the good guy for like ten minutes that entire film.

Did you think he actually swapped.

Speaker 4

In faces that film?

Speaker 1

He's the bad guy.

Speaker 3

It's been so long since I've seen that movie.

I think in my brain I can't tell the difference anymore between Face Off and Broken Arrow.

So I really think I'm gonna have to go back and watch always.

Speaker 1

That's my dream trilogy.

Speaker 2

I spoke to people at events cinemas well, I want to get that and watch Broken Arrow.

Speaker 1

Then Conneir.

That's then Face Off.

Speaker 2

So you have bad guy John Travolta, then you've got good guy Nicholas Cage, and then you've got bad guy John ji Volta versus good guy Nicholas Cage.

Speaker 1

That's the dream trilogy for me.

Speaker 4

Conn Air starring Cole MIENI.

Speaker 2

Yes, Yes, indeed, that was my first awakening to that guy.

So yeah, he was he was an angry, angry man.

Then I've got remnants number nine.

Oh yeah, you do too, a little bit high obviously s Brendan's got in fifteen.

But yeah, I think for me, just as a first timer, that I don't know just that.

Yeah, I mean, obviously it's a what's going on?

So the situation of it, that's the whole that's.

Speaker 1

The whole point.

Speaker 2

But even as it went along with okay, Shepherd has had his hand cut off, very likely this isn't real, but almost how his version of it was so unnecessary to like, like I said, he started off on the island, he was in no position to be able to help them do anything.

Speaker 1

So I don't know.

Speaker 2

I think I was just left like wondering what was going on.

And then even when it was revealed, I was left their questioning for a while, well why did it happen the way that it happened?

Speaker 4

And again, as soon as I know that a character is not real, I'm just like next step tap out.

Yeah, for the grace of God, they're real people, not imaginary in someone's brain.

What grace?

Speaker 3

Well, no, I see you never know with Grace, could be the aliens on the ship.

Speaker 4

But we do know that Jack O'Neill, what wasn't there light years away?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

What I hated about Remnants was the fact that Shepherd did it to himself, like he imagined Collie himself, Like he could have gone the wallzy route and imagined just the hottest bird.

Speaker 1

On the halfway there trying to crack under the button.

Speaker 3

Yeah, buttanist in the short shorts, he could have he could have had the ideal partner, just been trapped on a on a on a desert island with just this hot bird who just wants to just go town.

Speaker 4

To identify all the dangerous plants.

Speaker 3

Yeah, Instead, his his scenario is to dream up Collier and getting his hand chopped off.

Like see, this is why I don't like this is Shepherd.

Well, it's his savior complex.

He's got to be you know, he's.

Speaker 2

Got to be the big both moon the day.

Speaker 4

If he's a gun, well he's not.

He lost it.

He lost a hand.

Speaker 2

But still what he did, he didn't he build the whole Rambo thing with one hand, the big Rambo like traps that like fell from the trees and like full first blood at everyone through the jungle.

Didn't he do that with one hand?

I thought that I thought that.

Speaker 3

Was the I thought that was the tracker guy.

Speaker 2

No, this was like he escaped.

Yeah, it was definitely that was like he escaped.

That's what made me this can't be real, because you this can't be what's going on.

Speaker 3

I just maintained that Collier is his sexual dream.

And then at a certain point Robert Darvey, Robert Darvey was going to jerk off Shepherd with his own severn hand, you know, and then and then and then Shepherd was going to fill the craters on Collier's face with some clag Yeah.

Speaker 1

Great people.

Speaker 2

Number nine sorry, number eights, Number eights, I have number eights.

I have green needle, Breen storm yep, number seven, broken ties.

I like how much Jason member I had to do in this episode, Like I feel like he has to do nothing for most of this entire series.

Speaker 3

And did he say in the comment here, it's like the best experience to date he'd ever had.

Speaker 4

Like when he thought it was his best work until work he.

Speaker 3

Like shot all over Cooper by saying, how much of a great director Robert was it?

Speaker 4

Mario as a Party did that one.

Speaker 3

I think whoever it was, whoever it was, he was saying, how like just the director who's got the best workout of him his entire career.

Speaker 4

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, Ken Garotti, Ken Garotty it was.

I was going to say, early on season.

Speaker 3

Yes, Mario as a Party did the pilot for the Grace of God.

I mean, what I thought of Children of the Gods, what I thought of Garrotty is because he did Cold Lazarus.

Speaker 4

Right, Yeah, that's what it was.

Drop a cold Lazarus.

Yeah, right on Cooper's face.

All right.

So this is now the middle section, which is sad for me.

But anyway, Number thirteen going up is Vegas.

Ye not, I mean the first time you watched it.

Speaker 3

Sorry, I was taking drinking he said that, w what's sad.

Speaker 4

Because I originally had it in the bottom.

Well, that's not gonna matter.

We only do like the top three, bottom three, and I just think it's just MISPLACEDO.

Speaker 3

And filmed last.

So they actually filmed the finale.

And then if you think about it, Ronan and Taylor aren't even the episode.

So Ronan and Taylor would have wrapped a week before everybody else.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that sucks.

Speaker 4

Yeah, Shepherds trying to get on the n CIS or CSI or something.

Eleven No.

Twelve infection, the Wraith infected ship.

Eleven identity just something.

Speaker 3

That occurred to me that we didn't talk about during the episode of that.

The Hive ship split in half and the half that the team were on fell towards the planet.

Does that mean the other half is just still sitting in orbit around Yeah, planet decay.

They never sort of dealt with that.

I feel like it would just burnt up in the atmosphere.

Speaker 4

I would have loved a plot point about it.

Speaker 3

Since we can just make anything like it's a it's a made up show, we can actually just write anything we want that.

Speaker 4

I wouldn't worry about it.

Number ten No, sorry, what was that?

Up to ten?

Episode one Search and Rescue just a mic cool episode again, like they're in his lab.

I know he wasn't in it.

Speaker 3

March, but I would say probably the weakest season opener of the series, and ironically the only one not directed by Martin Wood.

Speaker 4

So correlate that how you will.

Yeah, it was just a lot of we're stuck underground and can't beam you out.

Speaker 3

So the weird dream sequence having glasses of wine with Taylor Yeah, which was apparently a soprano's reference, said to commentary, a glass of wine.

Speaker 4

Yeah, number nine, the Prodigal, Yeah, the Prodigal Michael, the Storm and the Eye.

Number eight, the Queen.

I mean, I didn't like the idea that they can just face swap.

Speaker 3

Yeah, like it makes sense in Star Trek when they did it, when when they put Diana Troy made of a romulin and stuff like that.

Speaker 4

That's fine, and that's the one.

But I think that's the two.

I think that's the two.

Speaker 1

Actually, I'm really going to catch up here.

Speaker 4

See this is why when Brennan's not here, because he's not he to remind you to play the button.

Speaker 2

Well, I was looking at him when you first mentioned an actress and said she's from Star Trek blah blah blah blah, and I was sort of I was waiting for and maybe that was one of those like hey, it's part of what we're talking about, so it's like, yeah, anyway.

Speaker 3

No, that was cole Meani.

I got over the cole Meeni one.

Speaker 4

Yeah, because he's because we're talking about from the from the j in this season and number seven for me the seed.

I know you guys had it super low high, but I like it.

I like all of the in Stargate.

I like all the techie stuff.

So anything to do with the Stargate ships and in this instance, the wraith ship, Yep, we've never seen that before.

I mean, it wasn't done perfectly because you like, hang on, what about this scenario?

What about this scenario?

Like how if if this is the way that they make hive ships with Keller inside the ship and then she's being infected, then they make a giant Atlantis wraith ship, which I guess was kind of the point.

How do they what do they do with?

How do they other ones?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 3

And that that was what I that was the issue that I had the most is because there were points where Keller could tell where people were.

If someone was near, some of her tendrils get off me.

So it's like, so does that mean that the core of every wraith ship is there a human or a wraith body that becomes like an ai that at which point every time we've been sneaking around and a wraith hive ship, how is it not known?

Speaker 4

I just she would have eventually not become like not be her and just be like an organic yeah, like transformed.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I just would have Yeah, I would have liked to expand on them a little bit.

Yeah, and just just all the all the tentacles and stuff just looked a little a little naf like just a little bit, you know, like either go full Henti or don't like you know what I mean?

Speaker 4

And I think, like you guys were saying in the episode, it would have been better if Ronan had have saved it.

Yeah, John Jack John having to ram it, like ram his puddle jumper into the town.

Yeah, what good was that going to do?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 4

Exactly.

But anyway, I like the I like the techie stuff side of it.

That's why I always enjoyed that episode.

Okay, here we go.

Speaker 3

This is my top six top Here we go from number six, working my way up, controversially perhaps number six, the finale Enemy at the Gates.

Speaker 4

Fair enough.

It's good.

Speaker 1

It's good.

Speaker 3

I wanted better, but it was good.

We're still good.

Speaker 4

Number five Deadless Variations.

Oh I'm interested.

Speaker 3

Number four sorry, Brendan brain brainstorm.

Speaker 4

Oh really yeah, yeah I quite like that.

Speaker 3

No.

Speaker 4

I like the episode.

Yeah, yeah, it is.

Speaker 3

It's not one that I ever really go, oh, I really need to watch Brainstorm.

Like there's nothing in it that makes like Every now and then, I'll be watching something on TV, or we'll say something, or I'll see something on social media and will just remind me of an episode of Scrubs or a Mister to Buffy or you know, and I have to go watch that.

At no point have we ever done anything where I've gone, oh, I need to go and watch Brainstorm.

But when I watch it, I'm like, yeah, this is pretty fun.

It's self referential enough.

You know, it's a month and gear episode, so I'm surprised I like it that much.

But he is a good writer, I will you know, it's his personality that you know, he's Circle two thousand and eight, two thousand and seven personalities.

Speaker 1

Still good enough for a SoundBite.

Speaker 4

I with Brainstorm.

Yeah, I've always liked it.

I think maybe because I've rushed the rewatch because we're let's go behind the scenes.

I came in for the new Stargate series announcement and then you guys were doing Brainstorm, so I hung around for that, so I kind of skimmed through it.

But I've always enjoyed it.

It's just old mate annoys me.

Speaker 2

Yeah, alright, that was one of my favorite episodes to edit the podcast.

Speaker 3

Oh really, that's very good, brilliant Alright.

My top three in the number three position, the Shrine.

I do think it's probably a fan favorite.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's not, like the top rated episode of this season.

I feel like any Stargate, Yeah, any Atlantis episode you like, fan you talk to, they definitely mentioned the Shrine number two.

I mean, it's no surprise to anybody ghost in the machine, even when it's not Tory.

It's a weird episode.

So I'm still upset.

Speaker 4

I did like you like you actually liked it, though, like because I sort of like, why are we doing this?

Speaker 3

I wish obviously that Tory had come back for it would have been better.

I think they did a good job to make it believable why it wasn't Tory, So I guess it probably would have hurt me more if the last shot we ever saw of Tory Higginson was her floating in space.

Speaker 4

That probably would have hurt a lot more.

Speaker 3

That would have been Yeah, I kind of love the the offscreenness of it all.

With where he basically telling the production of themselves for screwing her around.

But just from a from a production point of view, I love the POV shots, like because they didn't have Tory and they had to go and we had to experience things that we was going through before she was put into friends body.

I thought the po stuff was shot really well, and you know, it was that heartbreaking sort of ending where to me anyway, and I think it's a choose your own adventure.

But for me, some people may go, oh, that wasn't really weird.

Speaker 4

Yeah, I think that was for me.

I'm like, that was definitely weird.

That that was.

Speaker 3

That was the weird that I love.

That was not blonde weird.

That was dark haired, weird character making.

Making that greatest negotiator in the world.

Well, she managed to negotiate all those all those replicators through the Star Game.

So yeah, sacrifice, Yeah, she got to make the sacrifice sacrifice play that John's been trying to make a series with a nuke strap to his back.

She was able to do it just by walking through a stargate.

So and yeah, I do love the idea that you know, people have taken up with the books and made her, you know, a sand and then retake human form.

So again she's she's even more like Daniel.

Speaker 4

So I just did not get that, did not get the comparison at all.

Speaker 3

Crazy crazy, And then speaking of Daniel, my number one spot obviously first Contact and the lost fair call.

That's what you can do, Mitch, when you when you're reading out all the all the catch ups, you can play the first Contact music that I got you for.

Speaker 1

I won't there is that, alright.

Speaker 2

My top six, I've got search and Rescue, which is a couple of steps how either knew, Maddie.

I don't remember it a great deal.

I just in the early stages of my ranking when I was sort of each week, you know, and I've got had it higher than say the Seed, i had it higher than Broken Ties and a few others and whatnot, and I was like trying to remember it.

I'm like, I'll just I'll stick it there, like have it in a respectable position considering I don't forget it.

But as far as Michael stuff go, like you were saying, like when I'm comparing it to other ones that he's in, especially with the Prodigal, it's like far and away better and you did love.

Speaker 3

I think the character's name the one they introduced in that episode that they killed.

Speaker 1

Off in Sarah Connor.

Speaker 3

Yeah, there's like firing the gun at the wraith and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1

She was pretty.

Speaker 2

She's probably less Sarah ConA, more Ellen Ripley.

I guess she's not the chick.

Speaker 3

No, that was what I thought, but no, it's a different chick.

Yeah, she was one of the she was the girl's girlfriend.

Yeah, that's the kickbox the chick, the one from Search and Rescue is the one that died in the all.

Speaker 4

Girl SG team, which I completely forgot about.

Speaker 3

Speaking of Sarah Connor, is anybody watching season five of Stranger Things?

Speaker 1

No, I haven't you old.

Speaker 4

Loves in it?

Yeah?

I heard.

Speaker 3

She's like the I feel like every season they bring in like an eighties an old eighties star, like they had, well they didn't really do in season one, but season two they had Sam Wise.

Speaker 1

No, he was season two yeah, sorry yeah, season two.

Speaker 3

Season three was the Princess Bride guy from Robin Hood Men in Tights.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Kerry was he in season three?

Yeah, holy ship, I've just like wiped all that.

Speaker 4

Was season two as well.

Speaker 1

Ye one and two.

Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 4

I just that's the most I've been watching season four.

Speaker 3

I'm in the middle season four at the moment because I'm doing a rewatch before the finale.

I can't I don't notice anyone yet, but I think i'm only like two episodes.

Speaker 2

Let's just call it Matthew Modine because he was in both one and four.

Dad, you know he's the Yeah, but was he like an eighties star?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Sure, I don't.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 3

And then season five, they've got god, what's her name, Linda Hamilton?

Speaker 1

Thank you God, damn it?

Get her name in your mouth?

Speaker 3

Almost unrecognizable the first time I spotted it, but was until she started speaking, it was like, holy shit, Santa.

Speaker 2

Kana which one had I read?

Oh yeah, number five for me?

Ghost of the Machine, yay, number four.

The Shane Rodney.

Yeah, love a good character piece like this late in the in the run, Like, I know it's what episode six of the season, but still like considering the entire especially the Rodney character, to.

Speaker 1

Like give Hewlett so much to play.

Speaker 4

With, not quite a lifeboat scenario, but still gave him something to do.

Speaker 1

Which was yeah.

Speaker 2

And also guests, considering the nature of what was going on with his character what everyone else had to do around him, and like like said a shepherd, you know, came out with a bit of you know, not so much the savior, but just like how much of a friend he actually used to that guy as opposed to just giving him ship every other episode Genie again, bring Yeah.

Speaker 1

I always likes seeing Jenny.

Speaker 2

Yeah, number three, I've got Enemy at the Gates might be a little bit of recency bias.

Recency bias, but yeah, did did quite enjoy that.

And I was actually watching it again today before coming in because it was like perfect time.

Honestly it ended and I left to come to along to this rank on the Samsung thing, so that was like it was just like it was there to remind me of what was going on.

Speaker 4

Do.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I do love that, especially when the San Francisco Nature.

I don't know if you've heard our podcast from last week, Brendan, but's the San Francisco Nos got spoiled for me?

Done not by me, just some Joe punter online Twitter or threads or something discussing his excitement for the new show.

And he's like, well, considering we all know that Atlantis is in San Francisco and I'm like, you, son of a bitch, seventeen years I've went without knowing that and it's.

Speaker 4

Not actually it's on the fucking moon.

Speaker 3

Yeah, moonbase, mood base number talking about it at the end of Continuum of course.

Speaker 1

Number two.

I have daedalous variations.

Speaker 4

I love that one.

Yeah, I just banger.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I don't know.

I just like the the sliders of it all just they.

Speaker 3

Watchability, Yeah, I just yeah, yeah, it does remind me of you, like a season four, Season five SG one kind of episode.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Yeah, And I like an episode not so much with Central Stargates.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, not when they've broken something and they've had to fix it, but when they're part of something that's brought like that, like they're in a machine, or they're they're on the ship or something's gone wrong where they have to like get their wits about them and Rodney has to be the genius that he is.

Speaker 3

And yeah, not every episode needs to have stakes of the entire galaxies hanging in the balance or something like that.

Speaker 4

It can just be something contained like this, yeah.

Speaker 2

And a lot of pressure, I guess, and someone like Rodney in that situation, like an SG one where they had that going on like you you've got Carter who's the genius, but Daniel might be there to decipher something and translate something or tilk maybe a little gulp and yeah.

Speaker 4

Read through other stuff.

Well that person's reading.

Yeah, that's what Daniel, Like I.

Speaker 1

Was calling for the.

Speaker 4

Books in the Ring, the Rook and.

Speaker 3

The Mind that we're reprogramming.

Speaker 4

So Carter is doing her we.

Speaker 1

Need a zero yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2

Whereas this you've got like Shepherd, he's not helping that situation.

Ronan, to his own admission, is there to do nothing.

Speaker 4

Slamming on the desk because he's trying to get shipped to work.

That was very true.

Speaker 2

Taylor can't do anything, so Rodney's just sitting there going, we're gonna like the ship's go.

Speaker 3

Well, they did give Taylor to her magic power for that episode where she suddenly off screen has been you know, learning how Earth systems work and stuff like that, because obviously the writers went, oh, we need someone to help Rodney out.

Speaker 4

Yeah, good about that in season one?

Speaker 2

Yeah right, and then Snap with Mattie number one, first Contact, Lost Tribe.

Yeah, great, great episode, double eerisode.

Speaker 3

But yeah, I was I was concerned going into that episode.

I wasn't sure how you would deal because I think it was a little bit divisive at the time, the idea of bringing the ass Guard back after we'd sort of gotten rid of them at the end.

Speaker 4

I loved it.

Yeah, I thought it was a really cool way to.

Speaker 3

Bring them back as a as an adversary this time.

It would have been nice had the show gone on to see a bit more of that.

Speaker 1

And I bought it too.

Speaker 2

It wasn't just like them, oh, the ass Guard and now the bad guys, And I know I believe why these guys would have become the way that they makes.

Speaker 4

Sense in the law.

Speaker 3

You're in the same way that the goal of the Tokra split at a certain point, the Veneer and the ass Guard split at a certain point.

Speaker 4

Yeah, all right.

Number six for me is tracker aris B two point zero.

I've just I loved that technology that he had on his wrists, the fact that Ronan couldn't track him and he was also a runner.

And then but he's trying to help the girls, who was willing to sacrifice himself to the moral play?

Yeah, I like I.

Speaker 3

Just a few too many injured young girls in that episode for me, probably probably and yeah, something in Mitch and I spoke about during the episodes, it would have been nice.

I mean, they've had four seasons to do it is this is the first time they've explored the idea of another Runner, and like we wound out really early on they were able to Roddy was able to hack into the trackers that are in the Runners, and no point did we ever go and try and find because they said there's maybe only thirteen or fourteen Runners across the.

Speaker 4

Roan.

You know how they do the Ronan episode every season if they're like, all right, we found another tracker.

Yeah, and the good ones should be hard to find, right, Yeah, it should be hard for.

Speaker 3

Even the end of last season The Last Man, where Hologram Rodney was like telling the story of how everyone died and Ronan set up that little that little group of elite, you know, people imagine if he'd found a couple more runners, you know, and in the same way.

Speaker 4

I mean, it could get a little gimmicky.

Speaker 3

But if you think about it, Ronan as a Runner, the thing that's unique about him is he has the particle gun or the particle magnum whatever they call it, which we find out us from the Traveler species.

But then like this guy had his little thing that made him do something, and it's like you find another track that had another interesting bit of alien technology, or.

Speaker 4

Yeah, you could make a cool Alpha team.

Speaker 3

Yeah with all these cool imagine if one of them had the those those gauntlets from Upgrades.

Yeah, that kind of thing where they just had just like superhuman powers or whatever.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

I like it.

Yeah, And yeah, I always liked the idea that this could have been Aris Bok.

Imagine if Aris Bok made it somehow to Pegasus, Yeah, and became a Runner.

That would have been cool.

That would have been cool anyway.

Number five Brainstorm had that pretty up there Freeze Lightning.

Number four Enemy at the Gate the finale.

Number three for me the Deadalus variations.

Yeah, solid, I love it.

It's just so good.

The only thing I've really disliked about it was slapping it into reverse.

I didn't mind.

Ye, I didn't mind.

Well, first of all, I loved the idea of an alternate reality drive whereas Maddie calls it a time machine.

Speaker 1

Him like that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I mean yeah, the Puddle the time Puddle Jumper had an altered reality I've seen.

Speaker 4

But yeah, I just didn't like McKay's explanation if he had have said, because you remember, it was John's idea to slap it in reverse, if he had a gone, I got an idea, I slap it in reverse.

And then John's like, that's my idea, and then Rodney's like, I have to think of like the opposite of me.

I'm like, just cut all of that.

Just have John be saying that was my idea and Rodney going, what's it?

Speaker 3

That's the only him being really petty and just being like, I'm sorry, did you figure out how to turn into reverse?

Speaker 4

Yeah?

Something like that.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

The issue for me with that, and I spoke about it during the episode, was just the logistics in space of the fact that, like in the second or third last reality, we started the ship moving away from the planet to get away, but then when we get to like the second to last one, the three to O twos managed to come in from the front, so somehow they've managed to get ahead of us to come back and save us.

Speaker 4

And I was like, that.

Speaker 3

Doesn't really make sense, just the logistics in space or whatever.

Speaker 4

They continue on if there's no side of a ship.

Yeah.

So there was just a few little hic.

But I guess they were trying to attack the bad guys, right, maybe they were already in a skirmish or something beforehand, or.

Speaker 3

Well, no, we'd moved further away from the planet.

Yeah, so yeah, well somehow they managed to get ahead of the bad guys were chasing chasing us, and they somehow managed to get ahead of the bad guys ahead of us and then turn around to come back.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

But again, it could be those we've spoke about it.

Speaker 3

Yeah, for seasons and seasons, could be the CGI screwing the episode over.

It also could just be obviously, until the episode hit into production, that might have just been something that the writers hadn't thought about because they hadn't really thought about the spatial you know, awareness of everything.

Speaker 4

So I think everything in that episode is really well explained and how they're going to get out of the next thing, the next thing.

It's very nippicky.

For like my issue with that number two for me, first Contact and the Lost Tribe.

I was really tossing it up between that and the first one for me, which is the Shrine.

Speaker 3

I'm sorry, I think you I think you spelled Ghost of the Machine.

Speaker 4

R's way down.

If you want to remind it where I got that at number fourteen.

Speaker 3

At least it wasn't in the bottom three.

Speaker 4

I'll take it.

Yeah, because my whole thing with Ghosts of the Machine is I don't think that's weird.

That's weird.

See I do, so, I just well, I like to believe anyway.

Yeah, it's like there but for the grace of God's situation for me.

But yeah, I was tossing up between First Contact and the Lost Tribe.

I think the only thing that it was missing for me is that Daniel Jackson is just the ultimate.

He has the ultimate knowledge of the ancients, and a lot of that episode he was relying on Rodney to tell him what was happening, Like we just spoke about in Serpent's Venom, he and Carter worked really well together, and yeah, Daniel would find out some whereas this.

I don't know if it was because he'd never written for Daniel in SG one.

Speaker 3

Did he Oh that's a good call, it's your mate, Yeah.

Speaker 4

I think.

Speaker 3

Oh.

I think he wrote maybe two or three SG one episodes in the in the late in the late season.

Speaker 4

Yes, no early SG one episodes where Daniel and Carter worked very well together.

Together.

They found out how to get in contact with the Asgard the first time thawas Chariot.

They figured out Serpent's venom, how to get the ring, how to reprogram the mind.

Speaker 1

So they're always working together.

Speaker 4

But I found in this episode it was just a lot of Daniel going, I'm sorry, what what's going on?

It's like, mate, it's ancient there, you have more fluent than mackay and ancient.

I just don't and didn't understand what Daniel's going.

What's happening?

Yeah, I have the technical jargon, sure, But.

Speaker 3

I really liked the quickiness, Like and I said in the episode, like I loved how petty Daniel was, Like the way he just kept picking it right is his favorite look.

Speaker 4

But yeah, you're right in terms, you should have had more of a hand in resolving the situation, whereas, like it was in Dadla's variations, is just down to Rodney.

He dummed him down a little bit.

Yeah, Yeah, here we go.

Martain Geira wrote four episodes of s G one.

Speaker 3

He wrote in season nine, The Powers that Be, which was the Varla trial episode.

Speaker 4

There you go, another bloody trial.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

He wrote Stronghold, which was the Ja'afar brainwashing one look for like with like the Jafar Council and stuff like that.

Speaker 4

Oh yeah, old mate, the black boy, No no, no, after him, he was he gone by that point.

I remember it was then he brainwashed too.

No, he willingly became a prior.

Yeah it was.

Speaker 3

Remember it was the principal from Gilmore Girls.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that's right, got me good.

Speaker 3

He got a writing credit for two hundred, so obviously he just wrote that.

And this this leans into your theory.

The last episode of s G one that Martin Geira wrote was Bad Guys, which is the one where Daniel is yelling at the at all the hostages, which you hated that, Like that was so out of character for Daniels, so shut up.

Yeah, I mean, funny moment, but it took away from his character.

Yeah, okay, so yeah, that does tie into what you were saying.

Just Giary just doesn't doesn't quite get the Yeah, Daniels, the Daniel Jackson character.

Jackson is the name.

Go back and watch season one to five.

That's Daniel Jackson.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

So yeah, the shrine for number one for me is respectable.

I I just love the whole idea how they had to wait on the gate.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

I still have issues with the water not coming through, Yes, and why they didn't just jump in the water and walk through.

Something that I only learned watching it and then looking at the trivia and the commentary is the fact that you see one of those little things that infected Rodney floating in the water.

Yeah, when there, when they're sitting up on top of the gate in the foreground, in the water, you see this little staff is just kind of float by, And then that's one of the that's the thing, Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker 4

Yeah, they could have just easily been like, oh, we couldn't get to the DHD, we had to sit on the stargate until Atlantis.

Speaker 3

Cold and yeah and yea if it was an outgoing where imhole, the water thing wouldn't have been a proade, not a problem.

Speaker 4

Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, that's that could have got around that.

Speaker 3

And you know, it makes sense that it's a mackay episode and b is written by Brad Right, that makes sense it's going to be up in the top for all.

Speaker 4

Yeah, for sure.

It's actually so if we're going by IMDb ratings, first Contact is the highest of the season eight point nine, then you've got.

Speaker 1

Eight point nine, and then you've got a.

Speaker 4

Three way tie for second on eight point seven, which is the second part of that Lost Tribe, the Shrine and the finale Enemy.

Speaker 3

At the Gate, if I, if I can get it, that's four for you.

Speaker 4

For Heated Rivalry.

For Heated Rivalry, good.

Speaker 2

Episode only I'd watched that show to get some soundby So that's one, two three episode.

Speaker 3

I can go back and get him.

I'll go back and get him.

Speaker 1

For Universe I don't want you to get.

Speaker 4

On my back.

Speaker 3

Episode five and six of that both scored perfect tens on IMDb.

Episode five then started getting review bombed because it actually became the second highest rated episode on IMDb.

Speaker 4

Ever of any TV right, any TV.

Speaker 3

Show, behind one episode of Breaking Bad called like yeah one.

Speaker 1

Of the third Yeah, I know which one you.

Speaker 4

That's it.

I just assumed everyone would have got on for that Fly episode to give it a zero.

That's the only bad episode in that series.

Speaker 3

No, this is purely this episode.

The episode Ozzi Mandius.

Speaker 2

Or directed by the same guy.

Really the Fly and I was in Anti directed by the same guy.

Speaker 4

I've never seen him.

Speaker 1

I'm going to tell you who ruined Johnson.

Speaker 2

Oh directed the fly so, which is many people say is the worst episode of Breaking Bad if you're also directed the best episode of Speaking.

Speaker 3

Of I do have to watch the U Knives out that all that popped.

Speaker 4

Up on watch.

I've watched any of them.

Speaker 3

But but yeah, so the episode five Rival became like the fourteenth high fourteenth highest rated episode of on im dB, and then people started review bombing it because it was.

Speaker 1

Gay and like they gay or gay.

It's not, it's gay.

Speaker 4

It is it is gay, Like, oh my.

Speaker 3

God, joy everything we talked about at the start of this this podcast, it's that plus.

Speaker 4

Buttole eating, like there it is graph plus, but it.

Speaker 1

Is specifically don't just eatn ass eating.

Speaker 3

But yeah, right in there, there's literally a spot of a close up on holand in his face and you see his knees going to frame as he's lying back on his bed.

Speaker 4

It is graphic.

It is graphic.

Speaker 2

I just watched this season, the new season of New this year's season of gen V where Hamish link Lader's character the Cipher.

Speaker 4

He like, you're the little what's the chick?

She's Emma is it?

Speaker 1

And she's the.

Speaker 3

Yeah, the shrink shrinking little cricket.

Speaker 2

Noisettle cricket, little cricket, and she's in a toilet and you see this guy take off his strides and go down ship and I'm like, well, they're not going to show.

I'm like, it's the it's the Boys.

It's of course you're going to see this guy's asshole and dick and ball.

You see everything as he's going to sit on the camera.

Speaker 3

Was she the one that went down a guy's dick hole or is that that was a different shrinking person.

Speaker 2

She just basically rode some guy's dick like a like a strip of pole.

Speaker 1

That's right.

Speaker 4

It was in It was in the Boys, in that in the in the sex.

Speaker 1

Ag episode It's fun, It's fun.

Speaker 3

This was the opening of the later season where some guy gets high on cocaine, shrinks down, goes inside a guy's dick hole, walks along and touching, and then sneezes because of the cocaine, and then grows to his normal size again and blows the guy from the dick outward.

Speaker 4

Remember the Brady Bunch Janie Grade shirt yees going into dick hole where taking occasionally.

Speaker 3

On you know, you know what was what was greg know what was what was Jeanie's master's name, Grief, what was.

Speaker 1

Genie's master's name, Master Master.

Speaker 3

Nelson, Major Nelson.

You know, he was making some weird he was.

He got Genie to shrink down.

Speaker 4

He was he was in a cow He was in that Cowboys show too, that same guy like the broke back.

Oh it wasn't broke back back then, but.

Speaker 3

I always got a vibe between him and that the guy that he worked with in the Air Force.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that's why he never cracked on the Genie.

Yeah, Genny was a beard and we're like, please, she was up the guys.

Speaker 3

I was like, get out of the way, Jeanie way rivalry.

I mean you guys, you guys have been in that situation, haven't you.

Speaker 1

Well, no, we've never had a woman involved.

Speaker 4

No, that's what I mean.

Speaker 3

Like, you guys start having threesome and then she sheds up left Oh she isn't left out, just sitting over in the cup chair watching YouTube.

She's just there filing her nails, gonna come in and paying and getting paid to her by now for this, we'll.

Speaker 1

Be right back with our rankings.

Speaker 4

Dude.

No, no, no, no, right o.

The rank.

Speaker 2

Let's not bringing into the room what we were just talking about.

If you want to find out to hit up Mattie's TikTok and get into some discussions with him.

We have our top three and our bottom three according to the rankings of this episode we have.

We will start off with our bottom three as we do each and every rank.

We have a tie for bottom number three and number two.

Speaker 3

Brain is gonna hate this because doesn't this mean like double silver or double bronze or whatever it is.

Speaker 2

Now I'm going to well, I'm going to give it a clear break based on what.

Speaker 4

You know, how it was all okay divved up and what we don't have a bottom four.

Speaker 1

No one went into what right okay?

And I should say obviously it's golf scores.

Speaker 2

So the worst an episode can possibly get is fifty seven.

Right there are nineteen episodes were ranking the worst you could possibly get fifty seven.

These two are tied on forty nine.

In third worst place is Outsiders beaten only if you can say beaten by.

Speaker 1

The double Cross, the double across the Wraith hunt.

Speaker 4

Yeah, the people that were immune of the Hofing.

Speaker 2

Drug beaten only by the clip show inquisition.

And I only gave it the little bump to make it worse than Outsiders because it did get someone's bottom placing, which was Brendan ranked it in.

Speaker 4

As hes t I put it in my in my eighteenth pot.

Speaker 2

Eighteen mean it's worst, like the worst, so Outsiders forty nine points Inquisition as well.

But Inquisition does get our number two of the bottom three, which Lee's for our worst episode of the season, with a total of fifty two out of a possible fifty seven.

Speaker 4

Vegas whisper, Oh yeah, I'll take that.

Speaker 2

Yep, yeah, it's a It got fair enough thanks to a nineteenth placing with mine, seventeen Brendan, and sixteen Matthieu.

Speaker 4

Yep, yeah, they're all trash.

Yep, begone, begone, goodbye.

Speaker 2

Now we get into our top three episodes, and I mean two of them, guys are in the single digits.

Obviously, the best you can possibly do is three points.

Yeah, and we have two that are ranking in single digits.

We will start with our top three, number three episode with a total point score of ten.

Speaker 1

Not too bad.

Give it up for the Deadalus variations.

Speaker 4

Very good, very good, very good.

Speaker 1

He's so excited.

Speaker 2

These nipples in a number two with a total eight points.

Speaker 1

The Shrine woo.

Speaker 4

Well, then we know what number one.

Speaker 2

Is the unsurprisingly with a total of four.

It had two top placings, one second, placing a total of four votes.

Speaker 4

In the machine Lost, which was nowhere to.

Speaker 2

Be seen back in twenty one.

Actually, if you keep want to keep score, anywhere to go to?

The machine was ranking at twenty one, which is not twenty one position, but there you go.

First contact Lost Tribe.

The double episode that ranks is our best of season five.

I've start at Atlanta, husband by way.

Speaker 3

Way, Danielle, Oh, it's done for the game hairy mail bag.

Speaker 4

I had to think of it.

I got.

Speaker 3

I got a voicemail from Ben Hay, who slipped into my DMS.

Speaker 4

Hey Hay, have a listen to this.

Speaker 6

I heard the news and saw the headlines.

Finally, sorry you guys posts about the new Stargate series on Amazon while sitting in my car outside of my new job in no way.

Speaker 3

I think maybe he put it in in a message, but Ben's saying he's actually working at the Colorado.

Speaker 4

Zoo near Schian Mountain.

Nice putting up.

I forget what he said.

Speaker 3

Now it's where doctor Weir is gif giraffe fences or something.

Yeah, but in Aurora.

Speaker 1

Thank you Ben, Thank.

Speaker 4

You Ben, Hey hey Ben from Kim Stevens.

Yeah, get a guys, long time listener, slash lurker, first time caller, and I mean almost from your very first app.

It's been so long I can't remember the episode you guys were on when I first started listening.

I'll always start at the start.

Anything else feels wrong, correct.

I really have nothing much to say other than you guys are my absolute favorite podcast.

I listen to you every day while at work.

Oh my condolences.

Yeah, which is a complete eight hours of just all four sometimes five, sometimes three, sometimes two of you boys in my e hiles.

We've always said that sometimes one in season.

Speaker 1

Five if I got my way on.

Speaker 3

You check out, which is DC podcast Solo.

Speaker 4

I'm on my third listen for the year.

Jezh my god, yes, just this year.

It's a good thing.

I work in a very loud factory, so no one can hear me laugh or sing your jingles or even Reese.

Your father made you wrong, Your father made you wrong.

I miss Reese and Brendan when I get to their final laps.

But mich and Maddie keep the ship flying and the glue strong.

In the flag, that glue bitch.

Speaker 1

Finally three dollar.

Speaker 4

Shirt tax right off.

And I'm just so grateful you guys.

You guys decided to keep going.

I'm looking forward to Universe and I've only seen parts of season one.

I hope it's better than I remember.

But knowing you boys will be able to talk about it might just help me get through it all anyway.

Like I said, nothing much to say here, just thought you should know how much I appreciate all the work you've done for almost ten whole thing years.

That's insane to cheez boys.

Kima, she wrote, Kima, Gimma, Kimma, Kimma.

Speaker 3

Isn't that the bad guy from.

Speaker 4

Kma Kma Hyunda?

Speaker 2

Oh?

Speaker 4

And I went to the gate con they had here in Melbourne and Nadia is a sweetheart?

Isn't that sweet?

And we've got a picture of Kim Stevens Well I do, and I'm kidding it?

Oh?

That is that going to be part of your own material?

Is it material?

Speaker 1

I could say?

How good is that?

I mean?

Speaker 2

I don't like how you've just inserted your yourself into the awesome foursome of vest you want to take in talks place, just making it a full you know, whole white team.

Speaker 3

The genders are you know, it's very more balanced, very good.

You know, you're never going to see Judge and Shanks in a room together again, I don't think.

Speaker 1

Okay.

Speaker 2

I think that's been mentioned a few times last couple of podcasts, and I've obviously always escaped that.

Speaker 1

What what is the story there?

Speaker 3

There's a couple of mixed reports, but it has something to do with they after a Stargate they started a production company together and something was allegedly allegedly, yeah, allegedly something was getting off the ground and something about I don't know which one was which, but it was basically the production or no, the studio or whatever said we'll go ahead, but without Judge or without Shanks.

It might have been they said, oh, we're going to do it, but without Shanks, and Judge went okay, let's do it, and they had a falling out.

It could have been the other way around, and they said we want to do it without Judge with Shanks.

One of them said okay, And apparently they had a falling out over that and they haven't spoken yeah, okay since and that was probably yeah, two thousand and nine was post continuum.

Speaker 2

I was about to say something in relation to that, and it's my reaction.

My reply seems familiar, So I reckon, I have heard you say that to me, because my reaction goes to Adam McKay and Will Ferrell and they had like obviously did all of their shit together, you know, the director Adam McKay wrote.

Adam McKay wrote and directed and Comman and step Brothers and all the Talladega Nights, I think as well like a bunch of different Will Ferrell stuff, but also like produced a lot of stuff that they didn't even start in or or director or anything, and then they had a massive fallout, and I think it I think it was something.

It might have even been that show.

I think it's got John c Riley in it, the one about the La Lakers La Girls Winning Time.

It's got Winning Time, and I think McKay is the executive producer of that show, and sort of was a lot about getting that started.

I think Will Ferrell was like handshake, I hate yeah, I'll cast in the lead and then in the end just like cast John c Riley.

I think that's the story, which is weird because like he's been in a couple of their movies.

You'd think that enough like that that wouldn't just be it's something to do with I think Adam McKay since come out when I'd mishandled what happened, But Will Ferrell never talk to him again because.

Speaker 4

It wasn't there talk of that.

Speaker 3

After Supernatural finished, Jensen Accles and Jared Padillocky almost ended up that way, really something to do with Jensen was on board to do some kind of prequel series Supernatural, and like Jared found out about it in the media or something like that.

He knew nothing about it.

I think it's just got ahead of Jensen or something like that.

So they were a bit stand off.

But then they obviously, you know, they worked it out.

They worked it all out and talked about.

Speaker 4

It, and they're all good again as far as I'm aware.

Yeah, interesting and that did they ever come about that prequel thing, wasn't it?

Speaker 1

They did do one?

I think, yeah?

I think they did one season about the parents.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, because there was another one they tried to.

They did a back round pilot for like a Chicks based on or something like that, something Win with Girls one.

Speaker 2

Two Girls.

Speaker 3

Yeah, and then I think yeah, Winchester's got like one season or something like that and then it got got ship camped.

But you know, Padalik, he went on to do what do you call it, Walker Texas Ranger.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's right, what five years something like that.

You got a good run out of that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, pretty, Jensen's now doing a show with.

Speaker 4

You did them Boys?

Speaker 3

And oh yeah, well apparently they were saying because of that too, Jared's going to be in the new season the Boys.

They're gonna get like he's going to do something in that.

But then also remember the.

Speaker 1

Guy that played four seasons sorry.

Speaker 3

Green Arrow in in Smallville.

Speaker 4

What's his name?

Speaker 3

Justin Just Hartley watch the movie the other day?

Actually, yeah, yeah, him and Jensen Ackles are doing a show together now.

Speaker 1

Because he's going on for a while.

Speaker 4

I mean, if you're listening, MGM, can't we get Jensen on s G one on you Prime?

Speaker 3

I'm going, Well, people have said he's he's aged out now to be to be Batman, like everyone wanted him to be a Batman, but now there's James Gun Batman sort of situation and they're like, wow, he's too old for that now, Like you can't you can't have gens and acles up against Yeah, sweet corn, he'd be perfect in Stargate, dude, Yeah, he'd be great.

Speaker 4

He'd be really good.

He would be he'd be the perfect blend.

I think between.

Speaker 3

O'Neill and cam I think Jensen got a little bit of the cam Ca Mitchell's about.

Speaker 2

Yeah, like if he wanted to, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4

This could be a villain.

You never found out what happened to Chlorrel.

Speaker 3

Actually, someone I figured I didn't take a screenshot of it, but somebody sent me a screenshot the other day of Dual State's new show, the one where she's a lawyer, doctor or something.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, with the with with the with the father and the brother.

Speaker 3

Yeah, and she she's gone toe to toe with Beckett, he's a judge.

And then they said, apparently in the I'm assuming it's in the scene, kicked him in the balls and then he had the cut egg arrests and she had to give him CPR or something.

Speaker 4

I mean, people pay for that, right, Jill State.

Speaker 2

Rivalry Family Law, that one's called yeah with I like, what's what's the old mate's name?

Victor Garber who was Jennifer Garner's dad on Alias?

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, I like him.

Speaker 3

Wow, Victor Garber playing Jennifer Garner's Wow.

Wasn't he also the guy in that c W.

Speaker 1

Show Yeah tomorrow?

Speaker 4

Unfortunately, Oh, madam, you got something here about Janet Fraser's rank, speak rank.

Speaker 3

I think we've spoken about this.

I can't remember, but I haven't ticked it off some douchebag on Twitter that I got into a twittered fight with a while ago boy.

Speaker 4

Host of Stargate podcast.

Speaker 3

I'm listening to open brackets.

Janet Fraser spelt wrong.

She was a she was a doctor, but she was a military doctor.

She held a rank.

We never find out what it was.

That's I guess a quote that I said, Man, that's wild.

If only there was some way to tell maybe something she was wearing and then brackets she topped out at major.

Come on, guys, and then shares like a promo picture of Janet Fraser in her military uniform.

And I'm supposed to know that little golden shell on her shoulder means that she's a major.

Speaker 4

Aren't you a Stargate fan?

Right?

In your defense, they didn't say it in the show, correct we dialogue?

Yeah, there was the whole captain doctor?

Yeah?

Why was there never a major doctor.

Speaker 3

Yeah, Fraser thing, you know, because she chose to go by doctor, whereas Carter chose to go by her rank.

And no point did Fraser ever say call me major or call me captain or whatever.

Speaker 4

Yeah, so shouldn't they have always been calling Doc Fraser her rank.

I guess you could go either way.

Yeah, that's I mean, if we're going by yeah, Carter said you should refer to me as as captain.

Not yeah, exactly, especially when she's wearing a uniform.

So that guy and Twitter in general.

Speaker 2

Hang on, I'm literally just getting a live call right now.

I'm just gonna ask someone who's another Stargate mad fan link you're on the podcast.

Hello, just very quickly, what is the rank?

What is the official military rank of doctor Janet Fraser?

Speaker 1

I didn't know, don't you know, mate?

Speaker 4

Don't you know?

Speaker 6

You?

Speaker 1

Sorry, we're actually having to go at you.

Speaker 2

We're just arguing about someone who wrote in and said we should we should know our military.

Speaker 1

Ranks by heart.

If we're going to watch a show that involves the Air Force or into a podcast about god Head medic YEP, no correct answer.

Speaker 4

No, the correct answer is she's dead.

Speaker 2

She's dead, I'm going to call you on the way home, all right, bye.

Speaker 1

Thank you, Lincoln.

Speaker 4

That was good.

Speaker 3

And just just for the record, when I did post that in the mail bag, Brennan's reply to that was, what part of we don't do research?

Speaker 4

Does this?

Speaker 2

So there was one that you guys sent through in this little chain a little while ago, and Brendan sent it through.

I guess I should probably read it.

It's a it's a screenshot of our ratings and reviews from our Apple podcast channel.

Speaker 1

And the review simply reads five stars.

Speaker 2

I like this because my dad isn't it And it says the title of the review is my dad is Mitch Lewis.

And I remember sitting there with that with James when he put that in, and I think he has also ranked and rated Get into Geek and he gave it five stars, and it says, please listen to this podcast so that I can keep eating food or something like that, so that my dad can get paid and I can eat food.

Speaker 1

I'm gonna go and have a look for it now.

Speaker 2

But he's literally while we do it, James, No, you would have been dead ages ago.

Speaker 3

If if you're late this, I mean it's skinny, but not that skin that skinny.

Speaker 4

Yeah wow.

Speaker 3

I thought you're gonna have to figure out who it was based on, like the screen name or something like that.

Speaker 2

I thought it was going to be a bit of Recarch throwcraft Ronaldo.

I know it was when Ronaldo.

It's absolutely James.

Speaker 4

Yeah, well done, James.

I got a d M from Marrek.

Speaker 3

Fourteen twelve on the discord.

Get amongst the discord, guys, mate, I believe you, like you need like an invite link, but I think you can get it on like our link tree on Instagram and maybe on our Facebook and stuff like that.

Speaker 4

A discord for me is confusing because it changes the link or it expires.

Speaker 3

Yes, yeah, so but yeah, if you do want to get on board the discord, hit any of us up and we'll we'll track it down for you.

And because because Toasty and U and Brandon are still still running strong cracking.

Yeah, but Marek says, hello, high Pitch.

I was trying to figure out how to get the question to you.

On Amazon.

There are eight Legacy Stargate Atlantis books that finish out the story mostly Have you read them or do you plan to?

After you finish covering SG A first part of that.

Speaker 4

No, we don't read books reader.

I finished.

I love the pod, Peter Peter.

Speaker 3

But but obviously we have to we have to get through SGA.

Sorry, we have to get through st you first, and then obviously we have the new show coming after that at some points.

Speaker 4

Very exciting time, very exciting times.

What's that from Matrix?

Of course I could see it now.

Speaker 3

I do believe this episode comes out.

What it's like the final Sunday of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2

Weady passed the final Sunday twenty twenty final Day thirty.

Speaker 1

Happy guys, it's thirty three recording it.

We'll be releasing it.

Speaker 3

The thirty first, yes, and then I mean you guys are used to it.

Speaker 4

With our record schedule.

Speaker 3

We are intentionally going to take a little bit of time off a month or two just to bang up some episodes after we take a little break on to get into SGU But we are going to try and commit in the same way that I forced Mitch into finishing SG Atlanta's by the end of this year.

Speaker 1

We just scraped in.

Speaker 4

We are going to try and finish Universe by the end of twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1

So do not fret.

Speaker 3

We will be finishing Universe Mitchell, are you.

Speaker 4

Going to join us in the old Universe train?

Speaker 6

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Yeah, so if you plan on still recording in this radio station, I can better hope I'm going to be here.

Speaker 1

I mean, if my work continues to want me here.

Speaker 4

Then yeah, I mean, I mean that's a whole other colment.

Speaker 1

I work in a fickle industry and anything can change.

So yeah, yeah, no, absolutely, I'm really excited for it.

Speaker 2

Like I've said, my that's for is Samsung plus the Stargate channel as it finished.

Speaker 1

Channels getting the bloody you're getting paid mate?

Speaker 4

What we get?

The news the other day.

Speaker 3

Stargate is moving to Netflix in like America, America, UK and Venezuela.

Speaker 4

Yeah, but not Australia, right, I.

Speaker 1

Will still be behind the payball.

We'll just go for Elves one part.

Speaker 4

And I realized, I'm pretty sure even if you if you buy Prime and you get MGM, it's still cheaper than Netflix.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I've been honestly, oh yeah.

Speaker 2

Watching gen V the other day, I realized how long it's been since I've watched anything on Prime and I'm like, oh, so I'm paying for this service and I still have to watch ads like it's just it's so INFERI.

Speaker 4

Netflix me over the other.

Speaker 3

Like earlier in the year they went, oh, we're going from because I'm on the just the basic one.

I'm like, they're like, oh, you're going from seven ninety nine to nine ninety nine to keep what you've got, and then two months later is like, oh no, now you're going to be eleven ninety nine with ads.

Speaker 4

Like yeah you every time they increase it, I cancel it out of spite.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, I mean, and this could be my that's three out of know.

But Star Trek is moving off Netflix on the eighth of January or something like that here in Australia, so it'll only be on.

Speaker 4

It was good to have you on as podcast, Maddie, but.

Speaker 2

You know, as Enemy of the Gate wrapped up today on the on the same time that rolled straight into I ducked out for like the final shot of them looking at the Golden Gate, and I walked back.

Speaker 1

In and it was like, you know, oh, it's the credits.

Speaker 4

Damn it.

Speaker 1

I missed the end and I realized, no, it's the opening credits.

Speaker 3

Yeah, is it air air cut one, two and three?

Speaker 2

Yeah, Well, I walked in on the opening credits of air, and I was like, oh shit, Like and I've said to you before, I've turned on that channel and there's been an sgu because I've just sit the thumbnail has been Robert Carlisle, and I'm like, I don't even want to see the aesthetic of the show, because you guys have said, not only in.

Speaker 4

Stories about the Psychoactica, you've seen this as target goes.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so I can't.

Speaker 2

I can't wait to get into it, and that it's only two seasons like that where we're done and dusted in the next year.

But I don't even own any of the DVD so we'll have to some Yeah, well, madam, I've been looking at facing place and there's one very close to you, complete box sets of both seasons.

Speaker 4

Twenty bucks.

Mate.

I'll if you're asking me that question, then I'll let ye.

What's what's what's happening?

Speaker 6

Are you?

Speaker 4

What's what's your destiny?

Let's see what Daniel has to say.

Speaker 7

Any chance of that happening, sir, only chance would be if you reconsider okay, good sir, Rathman's got well okay, are you kidding?

Speaker 6

No?

Speaker 7

I've given us some thought and I've decided I'd like to come back.

Speaker 1

May I ask what changed your mind?

Speaker 4

You were fairly adamant.

Speaker 1

I don't know.

Speaker 7

Let's just say that there's something through the stargate that I think I still have to be the one to find.

Speaker 1

I miss that I have no idea what means buy it?

Speaker 7

You say, general, Miss, I haven't put through his resignation paper.

Speaker 1

Shit, good, so said I'm back.

Speaker 4

Well, well, well, full circle.

Speaker 3

He spent years shitting on shanks, spending a year to go off and do some Shakespeareut, okay.

Speaker 4

How is a year off doing Shakespeare?

Mate?

Speaker 6

You know what?

Speaker 4

I can enjoy yourself.

Speaker 2

The fact that you chose that SoundBite to use as an announcement, I'm.

Speaker 1

Like, hanging.

Was this all part of the plan?

You're like these guys, it's a year.

Speaker 4

It's like gotcha some dumb and dumb, dumb and dumber or what he shrin?

Speaker 1

Yeah where he's trying.

Yeah where he's been in a coma.

Speaker 4

For twenty years.

Twenty years, Like gotcha catheter in?

So if you can just pull this catheter out please, Mitch?

Yeah?

Speaker 1

Well, oh that I know that, Maddie, I know the area.

Speaker 3

Well, isn't that your pet name?

For it the old capital.

Speaker 2

Well tampon was taken by by by Prince Charles, so had the whole thing with Camilla when Camilla and Prince Charles now King Charles were like, you know, doing the dirty Diana and co.

Back of the day he's sexting or letters that he would write.

He goes, I want to be your tampon, Like, come on, my head, You've got access to some of the like Gras is.

Speaker 1

The weirdest ship, isn't it.

Speaker 4

I mean their whole she read, Oh my god, that's so fair enough, brother kids, So that's not it was his dad as well.

Dad get canceled something gross.

Yeah that's nasty.

Speaker 6

What was so?

Speaker 1

Yes, I am the I am Cat Clagg.

And now.

Speaker 4

Was was it a was it a south Park phrase?

Speaker 3

But I remember it was.

It was my one go to that, you know, growing up in the house with my mom and my two sisters.

It was the only thing that they never had to come back from was when I call my your sister of bitchy bloodsucking tampon.

Was that?

Was that a south Park reference?

Speaker 4

Not into the south Own?

Speaker 6

Oh?

Speaker 4

Really?

Speaker 2

Well yes, okay, awesome, that's I mean that piece this I don't even remember that audio existing.

Speaker 4

So that's just like so much that was forever in a day that didn't actually happen.

It's in Daniel's mind.

Oh that was part of the dream.

Really wow excellence, So that's nice.

So yeah, I had had a year off a bit more than that, I suppose, dealing with just and I was just able to be like a fan again and just rewatching and I'm like, man, this shows can't of go past it.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

The idea of being able to go back and actually watch an episode of Stargate again where they're having to take notes and stuff like that is super appealing to me.

Speaker 4

And I think I mentioned that early, maybe even season one, like at the rank and I'm like, was it a chore?

Like to get through the sea?

Is in't?

And it wasn't.

It's not a chore because you love the content and you love the show and you enjoy coming in here.

But it is a lot of hard work.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 4

So, and I don't know if I sense fatiguing your voice throughout the Atlantis.

Speaker 3

Oh, definitely maybe off Mike, especially season four and five season and I went, I said, going in four and five is that's that's a rough patch for me when it comes.

Speaker 4

And that's how I felt when I left the first I was just very fatigued.

And so yeah, there's only forty episodes.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, and we'll try and I there's and this is probably an off my conversation, but there there is a little ocdep part of me that if we can bine a couple of episodes, then the finale of Universe would be our three hundred and fiftieth episode.

And that just tickles something in my prostates.

Speaker 2

Where like, we've committed to that, and so you've like, when done, your done, your calendar up, and what episodes can be joined together and have that effect?

Air and airport because some people have I've already seen written in and said do Airpart one is its own thing, and then two.

Speaker 1

And three is another Yeah okay, yeah.

Speaker 2

And the idea that we've committed to whatever schedule and then like six or seven weeks in prime come out and go bang, we're back February twenty two seven.

Speaker 1

The idea that like you've done three fifty.

Speaker 2

And then like, well we can already see that three fifty one to be the new show, so like we're not even you know, we don't if we didn't even need to in a.

Speaker 4

Way, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3

Yeah, with the new showing, I'm a little I'm a little more lax on the whole three fifty because if if there was no New Stargate and we finished on three fifty and we did three and fifty episodes pos specials, I'd be very happy.

Speaker 4

But wouldn't it be great if we finished sgu on three four nine and then three point fifty was the New Stargate.

Speaker 1

But no, that'd be zero.

Speaker 4

You want to be on episode one, don't you.

You want to say we're doing a new series, new podcast.

I don't know I thought that far.

Speaker 3

But then also, if they only do eight episodes, then we're going to finish the new the new show, and the it's gonna be episode three on fifty eight and my city.

Speaker 2

I just liked the idea that, like you said, we're three hundred and at the moment, three hundred eleven commercials because you know me, I love my Phantom comics and like it might be issue two thousand and fourteen that's out, you know, and then it'll be like on the inside to go, this is actually the two thousand and thirty seventh issue because like way back when in the seventies and eighties, they would have issue eight ten and then issue eight ten A.

Speaker 4

I don't know why they.

Speaker 2

Did it, but like they have, they have had that many, but they only numbered it a certain way.

So I actually liked the idea of looking at our podcast and you can see three eleven, but on a Apple it'll be like, yeah, there's three hundred and thirty seven or something.

Speaker 3

Well something we spoke about it a few months ago or maybe earlier this year, that anime show One Piece because it got its stample track while saying how like it's one of the longest running anime cartoons ever.

Yeah, they've just they've just decided they're going to wrap up the show after fifteen hundred episodes and then and the creators have gone, okay, so after episode fifteen hundred and fifty five, that's the end of season one.

A couple more little marbag things I just want to get in because we're talking about prime and stuff like that.

Maybe it's better it goes over to Netflix.

Just because someone sent us through this.

I think it might have been Jacob.

It's a screenshot of you know, him watching Stargate or SG one on Amazon in America.

Star Get SG one Primetime Emmy's one time nominee in two thousand and five ten seasons two thousand and two.

Not sure where that year comes from the synopsis included in Prime.

In the epic Stargate SG one, newcomer Koren Nemck plays Colonel Jack O'Neill, leading his team through the Stargate against Duo old threats.

Yes, but like, yeah, that's that's that's some origin shit, right.

Speaker 2

There's name come above the title for ten freaking years exactly.

Speaker 4

Unbelievable.

Speaker 3

Yeah, and Jacob did also saying it feels like one of those late night weird conversations.

I'm not too sure, but he says, oh shit, remember how in Mobius, Daniel taught the ancient Egyptians English, And then that's why the alternate Timeline team was surprised they could speak English.

Maybe that's why everyone in the galaxy speaks English, because the Ghoul populated the galaxy with.

Speaker 4

The ancient Egyptians from Earth at that time.

Speaker 3

Daniel Jackson is the reason English is the common language.

American English is the common language across the Milky Way Galaxy because of Mobius.

Speaker 4

And you still say that he's on par with Elizabeth Weird.

Speaker 3

Yeah right, No, no, no, Elizabeth Weir is on par with Daniel wouldn't have thought.

Speaker 4

Get into Gate, Get into Gate, Stargate podcast, Get into it now before it's too late.
