Speaker 1

I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which this episode is being recorded, the Combomb Merry people.

They've been having conversations and telling stories on this land for thousands of years, and we show our gratitude and respect for their contribution to our environment and culture.

Speaker 2

Welcome back to the in Between with your hosts Georgina and Jamie.

We're so happy to be back.

And today we have our hot line.

We'ven't done a hot line in a hot minute.

Speaker 3

Hot hot, hot.

Speaker 2

Hotty, whatdy.

And thank you so much for everyone for setting in your questions from our very first episode where we said send in your questions because we love, love, love love reading them.

Speaker 3

We love reading them, we love answering them, we love just having that connection with you.

Speaker 2

Guys.

Speaker 3

We're just here for you.

Speaker 2

And I feel like the hotlines are a bit more fun because it's like we're chatting to you and not I feel like we go off a bit on a tangent, get so deep, which we love in the other episodes, but these are just a bit more fun.

Speaker 3

It's like just chatting to your friends, like being like, this is what's going on, this is my dilemma, curing the advice I think.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 3

And also, even though it's people sending in their specific questions listening, a lot of the time resume say resume, it's it could relate to something in your life.

So really it's just very helpful.

Speaker 2

And I feel like it's also good to hear other people going through similar things because it's sometimes a problem shared, is a problem halved, or a problem that's nice shot into one hundred different people.

Wow, that's right, you're okay.

I mean like it's like, you know, you know a different hundred people.

What I meant by that is you know a hundred different people are going through something similar, or you know so many people are going through something similar.

It just takes the pressure.

It makes it feel light out because you're like, I'm not alone in this.

I feel alone.

You're never alone.

We've probably gone through it, knowing how bloody journey.

We've probably gone for it.

Before we get into it, before we read out the questions, we thought we'd do a little recommendation.

We thought we'd bring them back.

It's been a while since there's been any racks on the potty, So Georgina, do you have any recks for the listeners Okay, my first recommendation, and it's nothing groundbreaking.

I feel like it's everywhere at the moment.

But whatever question, whatever thing you have, put it into chat GPT.

The other day, I've been going through a bit of a thing with my skin.

I feel like if I put water on my skin, my paws are blocked, Like I have the most blocky pause.

It's so annoying.

It's been like that for a long time.

Speaker 3

But I just feel like at the moment, I'm like, oh, I'm so frustrated if like, I've tried so many things and nothing's worked anyway.

So I took a photo of my skin in some nice lighting, send it to chat GPT and I said, hey, babe, can you please help a girl out?

Really, my skin's this, it's congested.

Blah blah blah blah blah.

What products do I use?

When do I use it?

What are the good brands?

I don't want to spend a lot of money?

Hit me up.

She then call her.

She spat out everything I need to do, how many times a week I need to exfoliate these types of products, and then wrote me a table of Monday morning this this and this Monday night this, this, and this, and really it's so good.

I've been following it and I feel like my skin has improved.

It is you look amazing, has improved so much already, So I feel like and like, honestly, any question I've been having lately, I put it in and it fully helps me out.

It's so good.

I put what can I have for dinner in there.

I was like the other day, I said, I'm really bloated.

I think it was this particular ingredient in this thing that did it to me.

How can I relieve it?

How can I calm it down?

It's pretty much just like a second brain.

It's so good.

I've ben't seen people doing tarot card readings and getting there like all sorts of different spiritual things too.

Through chat GBT, like you can say, hey, I either pulled these tarot cards, give me a reading, give me some meaning, or you can say, like, give me a reading based on where I am, this is who I am, this is my birthday, blah blah blah.

You can get it to do so many things smart.

Speaker 2

Rack it well.

My wreck is a completely different But I for the first time last week sounds so simple.

But my coach said that I'm going to bring her back to the conversation again.

Speaker 3

She's not sponsoring this podcast, no.

Speaker 2

But I just love her.

So we've been working a lot on if you would know ge how much I am just constantly on the go, Like I'm constantly kind of only doing things for productivity.

I go to gym for productivity, I'm at work called day for productivity, I work on my business, and I go to bed, repeat the whole cycle.

And one of the things we've been working on is just being being where I am because she's like, you're constantly in this like doing energy that you're going to feel so overwhelmed and things will come up.

You just need to be like, just take yourself down to the beach, sit look at the waves, don't consume anything, don't consume a podcast, don't consume your course that you're doing, Like, just be where you are and really relish in the moments.

And for me, the whole reason I got into marketing and business was because I loved writing.

But I have completely lost the joy and creativity of writing because I do it so much that I've forgotten to just write for joy.

So I went down to a cafe I was going to sit on the beach and do it.

But it was raining, so I went down to a cafe, got a coffee, went inside in my car overlooking at DBA, you know that beautiful view overlooking the ocean, and I just sat there and I just wrote just for fun, just for joy, and had a whole hour to myself where it wasn't for any purpose, just then being in the moment.

And if I felt like I wanted to just stop and look at the waves and hear the rain, and just like I've scheduled that in every second week, it'd look what I'm managing at the moment, an hour to myself, and it made the world of difference, just allowing myself to just be.

So that's my just don't forget to get caught up in the rush of everything.

Speaker 3

It's beautiful.

Speaker 2

All right, let's get into these hotlines.

Let's move on and read out the first one.

Speaker 3

Please kill the music.

Speaker 2

So the first question, we're going to keep them all anonymous.

Speaker 3

Can we give them different names for fun?

Speaker 2

All right?

Let's go, what's your favorite name at the moment.

Let's call her Sparkle.

Sparkle, that's our favorite emogie.

So Sparkle's written in see how fun is it?

Yeah, thank you for the app about reinventing yourself.

Loved it so much and can't wait to listen more of the in between.

Thank you, Sparkle, your queen, Love you Sparkle.

Throwing my situation at you to see if you can help.

We live on an isolated island.

Speaker 3

Oh, it's something like a show.

That's fun.

Speaker 2

They own a house slash farm.

The house is at nice, the farm is beautiful.

All of the family is on the island and she's a teacher and works three days a week.

Her mum has her son for those three days.

She's currently pregnant with her second I want to move away, ready for a change.

Have lived on the island my whole life apart from UNI.

So my thoughts are how do I decide where to move that the world is my oyster Side'd love to go to a different state, but that feels big decision around when to move better to stay around family for support with the new baby, to sell or rent house.

Husband is currently a bee keeper for her family on the island and big feels around him leaving them, but also what would he do in the new location.

Speaker 3

This is a good question.

You can hear the bit of the head noise and not sure, the back and forth which we all go through when there's kind of a big decision.

I definitely went through this when I moved away from my home too.

I think the biggest thing that keeps people in the spot that they are, which is so valid, is family being around.

That's a really tricky one because, especially with the new baby on the way, you do want that support around you.

But I think staying purely because because of that is maybe not the right choice, because you know, it's your own life.

You need to have your own experiences, and chances are your family will probably follow you or if not, come and visit you and stay with you for a while.

So I think, like that is really hard and it will be a tough conversation to have with family, But I think you'll just regret it if you don't.

Speaker 2

I think also these worries and concerns are so valid.

But I think what's going to feel better for you is it staying and constantly questioning what if?

Or is it moving and giving it a go.

Because the thing with moving is you can always go back, or you can do it temporarily, Like are you not seeing the whole picture, like, is there an opportunity maybe you can go for a month and rent out your house for a month on airbnb because it's on an island that would be fun, Or is there some other option where you can trial it.

But I think also when you move into state Gee, you would hundred percent resonate with this, Especially if you move somewhere where a lot of people have moved, like the Gold Coast, your friends become your family and you just help each other out, Like we would just call each other and ask each other to kind of help out with different things, Like if I had a baby, I would one hundred percent be calling you up to tick up to help out baby's it because those people are in the same position.

And often you will like gravitate wherever you move to people who have also moved.

So I think that's what a lot of people don't understand when they're kind of they haven't made the move, is what's waiting for you on the other side is people who are willing to kind of help out and do different things because they have also in the same position, Like you don't have your family to rely on, so you then create friendships and relationships that become your family, and I think that's been one of the most beautiful things about moving.

But I can totally understand because like, I'm so close with my family and moving it's never gotten easier.

It's not like I'm like, oh, I'm I don't miss my family, like I miss them so much, but I also know that I wanted this life and I chose this life.

And you still keep that connection, like you still keep them in your life, like you still have such a beautiful thank God for FaceTime and technology, and it doesn't go away.

It's not like you're ever not missing them.

But I would much rather give something a go than sit in the what if for the rest of my life.

Speaker 3

And I think it's so easy because it is so valid to get caught up in the like stressful details like what about this and this and this, which yes you do have to plan for, but if you kind of just spend a bit of time being like, there is so many opportunities and possibilities for a whole new life, a whole new thing, like your husband and his job.

I know that's really stressful to be like, but what work is he going to do?

But then on the other side, also think of all the things he could do, like it's so exciting.

He could do be keeping there, which also slave be keeping so fun, or he could do something else like he's got a lot of experience in certain areas, like what you know, flipping it from like oh shit, what the hell's he going to do?

To what could he do?

There's so many possibilities.

And then same thing with where to live, like what to do?

Wow, I get to literally choose what I want to do.

There is so many possibilities available to me, and I think, yes, perhaps, you know, I think maybe just selling a house and going straight away, like you need to keep your nervous system still somewhat regulated.

And if that feels like really really scary, I wouldn't advise it.

I think maybe instead of like selling and just going, you know, like Jamie said, go and go on a bit of an extended holiday somewhere for a while and trial it or rent for a little bit if you can.

Also, such a great thing to do is join local Facebook groups of communities, like you know, the Gold Coast Facebook group or the Sydney or whatever it is.

Join Facebook groups like get an understanding of the community, what's going on like what's happening there, just to get a bit more of a feel of it, just to help you choose.

But I think definitely, if you're not being pulled or called to a certain spot, just experiment and try it.

Speaker 2

And I think you need to go and try things and don't just move because you feel like you should have to like make sure it's from the energy of it will be really expansive and exciting, not like I need to get out of this place kind of energy, because it's a completely different vibe.

But you won't know something until you try, like you will have no idea.

And I think the biggest thing is there's always going to be reasons not to do it, and there's always going to be Like one of my friends moved up here with her partner and three kids, who started off not knowing anyone, and she's moved into like a complex where she's become friends with all the like moms from her kids' school, and they have this beautiful kind of community where they're all friends, but they all help out with each other's kids.

Partner got like a job up here that was way better from than when he was at home, and things kind of just fell into place because they took that leap, but they would have never known that if they didn't try.

So I think.

Speaker 3

Always, what do we say, what's the worst that can happen?

You don't like it, and you go home and then you know, or you might meet someone on the way that gives you an opportunity somewhere else or something like.

I think if it's on your heart and you're thinking about it and you want to do it, that's enough of a sign that you should do it now.

It's just also like allowing this space and time for the right intuitive things to drop in.

And if you're in this stressed kind of overthinking energy about it, you might not have the clarity to know where that right spot is.

But if you think about it like this is an opportunity, everything's going to come at the right time, and try and sit in the excitedness of it, you'll probably one day randomly get an ad for something somewhere, or someone will mention something to you, or you'll get an opportunity.

So just try and stay in that high vibe exciting the unknown is amazing, possibilities, stability and the right things will probably be drawn to you.

Speaker 2

And I think also It's like that balance, and it's between you have your reality and you have things that you do need to take care of, but allow yourself to take care of that whilst also knowing and normalizing that anything is possible.

Like never do something from a scarce energy of from a oh my god, I'm gonna, you know, completely get stuck here, but from that beautifully expansive energy of I really don't know what's waiting on the other side of me, and it could be the best thing that's ever happened to.

Speaker 3

Me, which it probably will be, which it probably will be.

Love you, sparkle with luck with that.

Yeah, good luck, Sparkle, keep us updated.

Speaker 2

Question two, what are we calling beauty little Queenie.

Speaker 3

We're gonna call her Tina.

Speaker 2

Tina, Tina Turner.

Who's Tina Turner?

Speaker 3

Who's Tina?

Not joking?

Speaker 2

And Turner is an artist like a singer.

Now she's a chef, Tina Tuna.

It's a singer, right.

Sometimes it's say pop into my head and it takes me like, so it's Tina re Tina squared?

Speaker 3

What anyway?

Carry on you let's go.

Speaker 2

I saw your post on Rise and Concher about a Q and a I was wondering if you could talk about how to show up for others and support them why they are being negative without affecting your energy and mood.

I want to be able to support people around me who are struggling, but I notice myself getting frustrated at their negativity.

I do the meditations and PEP talks on rise, but in the moment of talking to them, I would love some advice on how to stop it from annoying me so much, or how do I acknowledge why it's a trigger and work on why negative negative people trigger me.

Speaker 3

Damn, Tina, that's a great question.

Speaker 2

I feel like Tina, you might be about to enter into some tough love.

Speaker 3

Tina.

Speaker 2

As we had said in our relationship episode, when you're feeling triggered by someone, it's often revealing something within you that you need to heal, so from like a shadow work lens.

If you're feeling triggered by people being negative, it may be either one showing to you that you might be being negative, or seeing things from a scarce mindset, or whatever it is, and it could be in a completely different area of your life.

But it's just a certain pattern and behavior that you can see within yourself, or you're not allowing yourself to experience certain emotions, like for example, you might be toxic positivity to the point where you're not allowing yourself to feel and to see things from like a balanced equilibrium in life.

Yes, and I think it could be one of those two things, because if you're feeling triggered by someone and how they're talking, it's always something within yourself that you're not allowing or expressing or not seeing.

Speaker 3

Or maybe if they're being negative or something about something they have in their life that you wish that you had, you know, like maybe it's coming from a bit of a life or a self worth or identity thing because you're like, oh, they're complaining about, you know, their job or whatever, but like they have no idea because it's they have such a good job.

Whatever it is, it is revealing something and it might not be obvious.

That's the hard thing with shadow work.

Sometimes it might not be the exact same thing in the situation flipped or reverse.

It could be linked to something else.

But just sit with it, write it down, spend some time like why would this be annoying me where in my life?

And maybe I'm not doing you know, am doing the same thing or not giving myself something somewhere else.

Speaker 2

Yeah, And it's such a hard one too, because often if you defend or think you are something so strongly, but you're getting triggered by someone doing something, it is usually your deepest wound or your deepest part of yourself that you need to go and look at.

Like, for example, I remember someone who a shadow work coach or something someone saying once that you wouldn't see a murder on TV and be like, oh, I've not matter are because your ego won't feel the need to defend something you are not, whereas your ego will feel the need to defend things that you actually are.

So if you're sitting there and going, I'm not a negative person.

People who are so negative are triggering me, there's probably something to look at.

And if it's giving you some sort of emotional response or defense, that's like a big reactivity thing.

You know, your egos at play then.

Speaker 3

And as much as we're saying this side of things, like I think, definitely look into this.

But then on the other hand, you know, if there is just some really negative people in your life and it's just that they're kind of bringing your vibe down their negative Perhaps have a look at the relationships in your life who you're surrounding yourself with, and you know, can you maybe distance yourself from them a little bit because you are the result of the five people you spend most time with, So if you're surrounded by all this negativity, then you're kind of like absorbing that, taking that on.

And if it's not sitting right, I feel like you're kind of know in your body, like if it's not sitting right because you're like, shit, deep down that is actually me, or because you're like, oh, I just really don't want all this around me.

You can kind of feel into it and know what it is.

But either I think, do some self reflection, look into it, and also maybe like just distance yourself a little bit and find some high vibe friends.

Speaker 2

And I think also like really keeping your side of this street clean, like make sure that you're really leaning into being expansive and being that positive influence and all those sorts of things, because I think you can only control how you are and how you show up in a situation.

You can't control what they're going to be like, and you putting all of your energy into trying to change them and how they're showing up will deflect from you being able to grow yourself.

Speaker 3

So, yeah, you got this.

Speaker 2

Tina Arena, Tina Arena Turner and the final question, who we got on this on?

Bob Bob?

Yeah, Bob, Bob the building?

Can we fix it?

Speaker 3

Get it?

Speaker 2

Because're helping them?

Hotline read out the question.

Come on.

Firstly, I want to say thank you for helping me change my life so much, Bob, we love you.

Questions I have what?

Speaker 3

Oh, there's quite a few here, Bob really using the service.

Speaker 2

Need one on one call, Bob.

Okay, So for Bob's question, we're going to do quick fire because there's four questions here.

So we don't want to keep you all waiting twenty four hours, but we're going to give a little one sentence quick fire.

Speaker 3

I mean, let's not limit ourselves to one sentence.

Come on, now, we can do it.

Speaker 2

I believe in you.

What advice would you give your twenty year olds?

Speaker 3

Olf, Oh, could do a whole episode just on this.

Speaker 2

Yeah, we'll come on.

One thing that's really hard.

Speaker 3

I'd probably say it's tough, something along the lines of the most power you can have is when you are more you.

Yes, seeing more you, the more you you can be the better because you spend so long trying to be like everybody else, trying to do the same trends other people are doing.

Dress like other people, act like other people.

But the most magic you will ever have in your life is when you are more you.

I love that about you.

Speaker 2

I would probably say what people judge in others is what they are judging within themselves, because I think I spent so many years in my twenties worrying about what everyone else thought about me and what they would judge, and not putting myself out there because I was worried about what Tom Dick and Harry would say on the Internet.

And I've realized now it's got nothing to do with me.

It's got everything to do with them and their own lens.

So just be meet because there's always going to be someone who's going to think something.

But it's not my thing to take.

Speaker 3

On more of the story.

But you don't care what other people think.

You worry about Tom Dick and Harry and Bob.

No jecs would love you, Bub, We love you, Bob.

Speaker 2

What can you do to become more decisive throughout life.

For context, I'm a very indecisive person who has trouble making big or little decisions.

Speaker 3

Bob, I have been here.

You should see me when I'm at a restaurant trying to decide between which cookie, which between which cookie, trying to decide what I want for dinner, Like I'll go back and forth because I have two options, and.

Speaker 2

Then she'll still regret it and be jealous if everyone else was meal, and.

Speaker 3

I'll choose the wrong thing and be like, why can't I make decisions?

Pattern, So you've got any advice or you want to say, I feel like I can be a very indecisive person too.

And it all comes back to self trust, which is something that I'm really working on at the moment, because you don't trust yourself to make the right decision, which is why you spend so much time and effort going back and forth and why you can't back yourself making a decision.

So I think, really try and look into strengthening self trust, even if it's with little things like start by you know, doing little actions like saying something that you'll do and then doing it just so you can slowly build that up, and then I think eventually the more you work on your self identity and trust, you'll be able to make decisions knowing what you do want and have the confidence behind them.

Speaker 2

Yes, one hundred percent.

I think off the back of that, because it is it all comes down to self trust and also understanding and knowing yourself and what you want and not listening to the head noise.

But stop polling people, stop asking everyone else, because it just plays on the fact that you don't trust yourself and you need everyone else's opinion to be able to make a decision.

But you know deep down, you know deep down, So stop polling everyone and lean into that self trust.

One hundred percent.

You got this, Bob, You got this bub sound like you said bub You got this Bubba?

Speaker 3

That was my old dog's name.

Speaker 2

Oh sorry, I forgot grist.

We love you, Bubba.

I've been having a weird feeling that I meant to own a business or will own a business in the future, but I can't put my finger on what it might be or when.

For reference, I'm a nurse.

How do I find clarity on this?

Ah?

Bob?

Speaker 3

All right?

Well, first of all, also can relate to this.

I feel like we mentioned in our episodes prior.

Jamie and I are always kind of toying around with different business ideas and things we could do.

Last week it was a cookie shop.

The week before is a cafe gardening.

Speaker 2

We were actually going to change tries and conquer to rise and cookie and bring out our own cookie line.

Speaker 3

We honestly go through this all the time.

But I also have this weird, deep seated feeling that I will have some business or something at some point.

And I used to think it was when I was going to be younger, and now I kind of intuitively feel like it's when I'm going to be a mum.

But I've just released control to know that it will come to me at the right time when I'm ready for it.

And I think just like surrendering to that has really helped me, because when you're like what is it?

What can I do?

What am I meant for?

You might attach to the wrong thing and then start a business in the wrong area and it won't work out.

So just really again try and build on that like self trust, self confidence, what do I want?

What lights me up?

And then just surrender and trust that the right thing will come to the right time.

Speaker 2

I think also like look into why you think you want a business, because a lot of the time people want businesses because they see people living a certain life for the business or see things online and so many people are like, I want a business, but then they have one and they're like, I didn't want this at all, I just thought I should have one.

So I think, and not wanting a business because you want a business, because it is not not what's that saying for the faint hearted.

It is not for the faint hearted.

It is hard work, it is a lot of dedication, and you've really got to love what you're doing.

You've got to love and believe in the business.

So just focus on that, focus on if you did have a business, what would light you up and what is the thing behind the business, rather than just wanting a business.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I agree.

I feel like businesses are so glorified on social media and like we really praise business owners, which I feel like is a bit hard because people work really hard in their careers and stuff, and sometimes I feel like working nine to five just gets like skipped over, but equally as valuable and important.

But have you seen lately that so many businesses have been shutting down because it's so much work, Like it's pretty much takes over your whole life, and if you've got a family and got all these things, it's really time consuming and energy consuming.

So I think, like Jay said, make sure it's something you're really passionate about, because if you want it just for the money or the clout of having a business, it probably won't go so well when everything.

Speaker 2

Gets really really the wrong energy.

And I think it's also you have to want everything that comes with that, Like it's you can create a business that's you know, more stress free and time freedom, not but you have to understand that.

You have to understand why you want a business and what you want it to look like and how you're going to make that come to life, because yeah, at the start, it is a hustle.

It's hard.

Thank you so much.

Please send in your questions because we're going to do more hotlines.

We love them, We love connecting with you guys and giving our little two cents.
