Speaker 1

The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2

Cowboys Let's go.

Speaker 3

Are you ready for a break?

Speaker 4

Yes?

Speaker 3

Are you ready for a break?

Speaker 4

Absolutely?

Speaker 3

Ready for a break?

Yeah, and so much for that.

It's time for the Break on Dallas Cowboys dot Com.

Speaker 1

Were on with Mbar Garcia, Brian brought Us, Votch Lombardi and Derek Eagleton.

Speaker 2

It is Friday, December twelfth, twenty twenty five, Season twenty one, episode number ninety three.

Welcome to the latest edition of The Break.

We are Locked in.

That's WBC Mortgage Studios at the Star, presented by lglg's the world's number one old TV brand for eleven years in counting see why at LG dot Com, Forward, slash Evo and those are you of you watching?

But I need to say you are not.

You are not.

You actually are tuned into the right show.

This is not an old broadcast.

I got my buddy, I got my boy Nikki.

Oh yeah, joining me?

You said twenty it's two.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 2

A lot has happened.

A lot has happened over the years.

You know, we might, we might, we might stroll down memory lane a little bit here in this show.

Amber's out today, she's got some things going on.

Brian's out today.

It's his birthday.

By the way, I say happy birthday.

I got Brian, Happy birthday to you, buddy, helpfully back with us on Monday.

Uh.

And Watch is doing other things and he say it doesn't work here, but for some reason, he's on the air here doing something else.

We'll talk about that later.

But but no, he'll be joining us here in a moment.

But we were like, let's just go ahead and get going to old school, old school lunch break episode.

Uh here, Nick, Just so for those that may have been living under a rock and only tuning in the Cowboys Break, what have you been doing here lately?

That's not Boys Break?

Since you left the show and decided you just didn't want to grace us with your presence.

Speaker 5

Go ahead, Well you you let me have my own show.

Yeah, yeah, I asked you if what you thought, and you're like, yeah, I think it's a good idea.

It's probably not gonna work, but it's a really good idea, and you don't have the patience for these fans.

Speaker 2

That was that was my critique.

Let's be honest.

I was like you gonna you're gonna do what and you're gonna talk.

You're gonna let fans talk.

Okay, okay, yeah, sure it works.

Speaker 3

It's no, it's it's great.

Speaker 2

You built a nice community.

Speaker 5

Man, it's been That's really what it is.

I mean, it's it's been a community.

And they love each other, which is so cool.

Like they they know each other now that they have their own show on Thursday night, they do their own community spaces.

But sometimes I'll jump in on that.

But they sit there and go for hours and they know each other.

They know each other's you know, the work situations and all that.

So it's really cool.

And then they we talk about that and they're very knowledgeable.

I mean, you guys know you know that you know the fans that call in and some of our fans that used to call in when you did take calls on our show.

Speaker 3

But now I'm I mean now that you can't take calls.

Speaker 2

I got too many people want to talk to many people want I want to talk.

And that was back when Amber didn't say much.

Now Amber's got plenty to say.

She will go.

Speaker 5

So that's one of the reasons why this show was appealing to me.

Because I'm like, I get to talk as much as I want, you.

Speaker 3

Know what I mean.

Speaker 2

That's a long difference from the days when you'd sit there with Mickey and Mickey would just like talk and you would listen.

Speaker 3

Right you were a listener.

Speaker 5

I was listening.

And so we got people that want to talk.

Here's one of them right here that's coming in here one to talk.

What's up?

Speaker 6

I'm about to chat all day.

I hope y'all got your talking points.

Speaker 5

You know.

Speaker 2

It's funny.

I actually was thinking about this before we went on the air.

We have the most tenured person in the history of the Break and the least tenured person in the history of the Break, and we put them together on one show.

We do we do groundbreaking things on this ship.

Speaker 6

Don't expect me to be nervous, don't expect me to hold my tongue.

Speaker 3

I'm very chatty.

Let's do this, you know.

Speaker 2

But I talked about it all the time, like he used to watch this when he was young.

Makes me feel old.

It also makes me feel proud when.

Speaker 5

Right before we went on the air, we were like, let's feel like we used to.

Yeah, we were like, you know, young Romo and te O and we have plenty to talk about.

Speaker 3

We need to talk about Phillips and all of them casts.

Man, you know, Dave him.

I've been fancy all for years.

Speaker 2

Man, We've been doing this for a minute.

We've been doing this for a Minutell right.

Speaker 3

So Hensey and Kelsey and them, I've been doing this for years.

Speaker 2

Yeah, let's jump in here.

And I think we should start first by getting an update on some of the injury situations.

Speaker 7

Uh.

Speaker 2

You got Jake Ferguson who popped up as a d MP yesterday.

He was limited the day before, so not going necessarily in the right direction.

Sounds like he's more of a game town decision.

My question for you guys is we haven't had the chance to see that this year as of yet.

If he doesn't play, what does the tight end position look like?

Who's the starter, who's the main guy?

Do you think this is a breakout type opportunity for somebody like Brevin span Ford?

What happens with the tight end position?

Speaker 3

I'll say this the schoonmaker last year.

Speaker 5

Now I know what he is as the number two, and he doesn't make a lot of plays, and you're kind of wondering, you know, what's he did going out there sometimes, but he actually played his best football when he was the starter.

If you remember last year, he did some nice things.

But I still want to see more of span Ford.

I think he gives you a little.

Speaker 3

Bit more, you know.

Speaker 6

Typically, I think that you know, Dak brings up whoever he's throwing the ball to.

So unless you're like a super elite Travis Kelce type character whatnot, I think you're just gonna live and die by However, four brings those guys up or just elevates them.

So Jake, I think Jake does some fantastic things.

He's been at Dak's house.

They're kind of locked in with it or whatnot.

But I think Luke works hard, and I think that's why they're continuing to roll Luke out there and play with you know, because he's work hard guy.

He's, you know, do everything right guy.

But Brevin span Ford at the end of camp, because I was there shout out the Dallas Cowboys getting me involved and all that.

But Brevin was jumping over people, pancake and people running through people.

And the one thing about him is that he's two seventy.

I would love to see what that looks like trying to run over a dB.

Speaker 3

What's it?

Speaker 2

Yeah, I'll look at that that tight end in Pittsburgh.

You guys watched him.

Speaker 3

What is he three doneil Washington?

Speaker 8

Ye?

Speaker 2

Three twenty Like he's three something In.

Speaker 6

Real life he might be like read something three three oh five, but three twenty moving like that.

Speaker 3

He was that guy in Georgia.

Speaker 6

Like his big highlight table was him running over people smaller than him.

Speaker 3

And that's everybody.

Speaker 2

Yeah, basically.

Speaker 5

And another thing to span fourth game is is Linda Wills, the tight end coach says this all the time.

He was like, when I really want to kind of stir things up, I get Brevin in there that.

I mean, he'll if it's not going well in practice, we want to kind of you know, we're getting punked by the defense, which really doesn't happen much, but it did it camp shot well, I mean, okay, I mean it's been better this year, you know, but but Breven he's that guy too.

He stirs it up.

You saw the tackle.

I'm surprised he didn't get a penalty.

And the Lions game he kind of ye was a little shoved around.

Speaker 2

He should have gotten a penalty.

Speaker 3

Yeah, that was nastiness.

Speaker 6

They don't call it, don't count.

But also to versus the Raiders, we saw Lippy getting involved a little bit and I was like, hey, man, Hunter, Lippy sighting, and then we kind of went away from it, like like it just tends to happen.

So I don't think the Cowboys should overthink, you know, run through three, run through eighty those guys in a run game, and then anybody else just kind of get in where you fit.

Speaker 2

In just a couple of the notes, Tyler Guiden still is DMP doesn't look great for him right now.

I don't think everything we're hearing so far suggests he may not play, but we'll see how that goes.

Trayvon Diggs he did actually have another limited day of practice.

Coach says he's getting better.

It seems like there's a lot of clouds around that situation and what he has to do in order to get back on the field, But I think it's pretty clear, having talked to both the head coach the defensive coordinator, that there's an expectation that he has to do what they call the right things throughout not just the practice field, but meetings and everything else, and so they are evaluating that to determine whether they think or when they think he'll be ready to resume playing time with the team.

Jadavian Clowney limited, He's another guy that's probably going to be a game time decision.

Good news for the Cowboys.

Seed and Lamb clear concussion protocol, so it looks like he's going to be back and playing.

I will be very very interested to see how the wide receiver plays at position plays out this week, knowing that that we've heard so much about Pickings this week and what he was not after all that he has been.

I think between those two guys, I would not be shocked if they put on a show this weekend between the two of them.

Speaker 5

Well, you mean, what we've heard about the Vikings is they love the blitz.

Yeah, so if you're gonna blitz, you really can't also put a lot of shell coverage back there too.

So it's pick your poison.

And you know, we've seen these guys get off the line of scrimmage.

If they can do that, and with the slants, good luck with the blitz, you know, because I don't think Dak's afraid of it.

Speaker 6

And you know, ten days risk is definitely good for everybody.

I think what I really want the Cowboys to do.

Early in the season, they were like a really dominant run team, and you know, you can just make the argument that maybe they look, you know, they don't get as many run game numbers later on in the season because you having to throw the ball to catch up in these games.

Speaker 3

Whatever.

Speaker 6

I would love it if the Cowboys just throw the ball and get up early and then kind of finished this game being physical and running over people with you know, Williams and all those guys.

Hopefully GP's one of those guys.

I think we gonna learn something from him is that he's taking this criticism in and he's gonna go, all right, bet, I'm gonna show you something like the true crash out type guys tend to do.

Like t O is like that, like you say something crazy by too, he'd be like, all right, who bet, let me show you.

Speaker 5

We saw we saw for about eighteen minutes right when that tweet went out there he fired a tweet, then it got deleted.

Speaker 3

But I love tweets like.

Speaker 2

That's just me.

Speaker 6

It's already on the media.

Guys kind of talk about Richard because look, let.

Speaker 3

Me be honest, about Richard Sherman.

Speaker 6

Man, Richard Sherman don't know, like he doesn't know what GP's job is exactly in that situation, And in that situation, I'm just a guy watching the film.

Sherman was a guy that was kind of watching it in passing or whatever.

He's an All Pro Pro Bowl corner I'm gonna do with a camera, microphone.

But if GP's over here getting attention and ceedee, Lamb gets a hundred yards and a half, ceed he gets hurt, and then Flow gets a hundred yards and a half, I think GP, did.

Speaker 3

We know what's happening?

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Yeah, It's a figure poison offense that always has been, especially if the Vikings are gonna blitz or anybody gonna blitz.

Speaker 3

So it's big.

Speaker 5

I mean if it's big for Nate time, if he's going to play it, you know, this is a big moment for all those young guys.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 2

I think if you look across the NFL and look at even the teams, like you look at the comparable teams in the NFL that have two guys, I mean two dudes at wide receiver, it's very rare that both of them get off in the same game.

Most of the time, one is going to get off and the other is going to be kind of, you know, just there.

And I think that's what Cowboys fans and media that's covering the Cowboys have to start really realizing, is that it doesn't mean something's wrong if both of them don't have one hundred and fifty yards like, that's okay.

As long as you're getting production out of the receiving game and there's somebody that's doing so.

You can't have both of them having a bad day.

But it's almost one of them is doing it.

That's usually enough.

Speaker 5

Now.

Speaker 2

This last game, because you had challenges in a lot of other areas, you didn't end up winning.

But make no mistake about it, Seedee Lamb was having a day and Ryan Illinois had a day.

I think that that's about as much as you can really ask for.

Speaker 3

I think it was just the.

Speaker 5

Effort that it looked like and I don't like that's a question effort because it's really hard to do that, but but it did.

There was a couple of plays, especially that deep ball, where it almost looked like he was trying to get out of the way from it.

There were some odd looking plays that we haven't seen this guy's going to attack the football, and he didn't attack it what we've seen, and so when you throw all that in, maybe it was one of those off games.

Speaker 3

But I'd like to see how he comes back.

Speaker 6

I wonder how national media would look at it.

If CD got thirty yards receiving, GP got forty, but the Cowboys one via blowout, right like if Williams rushed for one fifty, Turban got a hundred some yards and then maybe third went crazy and neither one of your receivers really contributed in that way, but you want in a large fashion.

I wonder how national media would look at it.

Speaker 2

I'll tell you exactly that it gonna look at it.

Speaker 3

Where's the laws?

Make people go crazy?

Speaker 2

Man, It's gonna be like on ESPN, it'll be like, does Dallas have a wide receiver problem?

Like you know how it goes like it always turns into something more and something different than what it is.

Speaker 6

And to your point, you had two receivers last week then went Fred you had it it is, you know, it's just wasn't the combinations.

I don't care how I get done, Jonathan Mingo and go out there and get a hundred.

Speaker 3

I don't care.

I just want to do it.

Speaker 6

You feel me who I'm That would be Jonathan Feller.

Speaker 2

Speaker 2

Welcome back.

We are in the second segments segment of the Break.

Speaker 3

With me get me sitting over them, tell you at the Star.

Speaker 2

It's a little time for Yeti.

We're gonna do a little Yetti time here.

Usually Amber handles this, but she's out today, so I am handling Yetti for the show.

And uh So, in typical father fashion, I reach back to what I do, which is things I do with my kids.

And so I thought about the show inside and the movie inside Out, and Nick knew exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned it to him yesterday, So we thought it would be a great segment for those of you who have not seen the movie.

Basically what it is.

It's designed.

It's a movie, clever movie, but it's done from the standpoint of the emotions of this kid, and the emotions are kind of animated throughout the movie.

Really good movie.

Check it out.

But seeing as though Amber's last few yety times have been dealing with our emotions, we've spent some time, you know, doing the whole psychiatry thing.

I figured this is right in line with that, and we'll do a little inside out.

So I have nine different emotions that I'm going to throw to you, guys, And what I want you to do is, I want you to tell me the first thing that pops into your mind about the twenty twenty five version of the Dallas Cowboys.

It can be a player, it can be a moment, it can be a game that pops into your mind when I give you this emotion.

Speaker 6

That is so interesting because Phil Collins got a song called inside Out and it's just about this right here.

Speaker 3

So that's interesting.

So let's run it.

Speaker 2

That's how we do.

That's what we do.

We're cultured people on the break, all right.

Speaker 3

So Genesis Phil cons are just regularly all the way back.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 3

But when he did his own thing, it was good.

Speaker 6

Home by the Seafield, Bill Collins, fast all Field Collins, Bill Collins, that's not my son.

Speaker 2

All right?

Here we go, joyful?

What pops into your mind when I say joyful?

Speaker 3

Man, we got a franchise quarterback.

Speaker 6

Boy, we got Dak Press, got the best quarterback in the league going out there throwing them around.

Because when I look at what the Vikings have done, they had a dude and Sam Donald that was working, and they went with the young guy, and boy, it's just a mess over there as far as quarterback goes.

And I just love to sit back and watch teams go through that and go, man, I don't have to worry about this at all.

I'm getting ready for draft talk right now.

I ain't got to watch the quarterbacks in a hurry because that ain't somebody we gotta worry about.

So we got to do deck and throw the ball.

I think you're always going to be you know in that conversation.

Speaker 5

Yeah, that that Landry shift on the Thanksgiving they game, that there was some joy in that just because then they won three in a row.

They beat the Chiefs.

It's Thanksgiving, I mean, all the tradition that goes with all that.

That that was I mean, yeah, the Eagle game was great, but then to come back four days later and do it against the Chiefs, it was some joy in that one.

Speaker 2

So what's the what's the Chiefs game better for you than the Eagles game.

Which one did you personally?

After the game was over, You're like, man, I love this.

Speaker 6

I'm chronically outside on the internet, and I don't like them people in Philly, so it was sweet for me.

Speaker 3

The game was better.

I didn't.

I didn't.

Speaker 6

I didn't value Jayalen Hurston that way.

Speaker 3

I don't.

Speaker 6

I don't think Jalen Hurst is all that great.

I think Patt is really great.

So seeing Pat be great and the Cowboys beating regardless, I thought that was really good for the game, but for the talking online Philly's sweet.

Speaker 5

Yeah, But but I look at it like this, think of it back to Thanksgiving.

The plate that you had a full with stuff that's kind of like kind of breaking because it's so heavy with all the stuff that how great that was?

And then the dessert you had afterwards, so it's all good.

The plate was Philly, but then the dessert was.

I mean, it's all it's all the same, all right.

Next next emotion, are you not playing?

No, I'm not playing the host.

Speaker 3

That's crazy.

Speaker 2

The next emotion angry Nikki me?

Speaker 3

What how do you?

How do you handle the fluce conversation?

Speaker 6

You just jump out and say it do you try to like, is there some media secret?

Speaker 2

Do you tune into the break ever?

Speaker 5

Uh?

Speaker 2

Yeah, no, I'm sure you absolutely know how he feels about.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Oh, and I'm Mike McCarthy.

Speaker 5

And remember the fans, the fans the same thing.

Speaker 3

The fans have anger.

Speaker 2

On yeah, oh yis you get it?

Yeah?

Speaker 5

You get And the Oklahoma linebacker with the towel, they had a lot of a lot of things to say about that, but you said anger anger, Uh, go for it.

Speaker 6

But for content sake when you on your show, do you just flat out just be like, hey man, flu strip like I do?

Or do you try to go Oh, you know, there's some problems with because I don't know all the media tricks.

Speaker 3

You know what I'm saying.

You've been doing this since I was like eight, you know.

Speaker 5

Yeah, yeah, so like, how's five and eleven years with Campo and all that.

Speaker 6

Yeah, teach me how to be a good media guy, because one thing that I know is is it's bad content for me to just come on here every single day and be like I'm sick of flues, right, So maybe I'll learn something different from you and how you had.

Speaker 2

You know.

Speaker 5

That's interesting though, because we've had to do it for so long and had to kind of, you know, ride the fence a little bit, which hurts you ever actually rode a fence.

It doesn't feel good, so it's not comfortable.

So that that's kind of what it is.

I haven't either, but I imagined, but it's you know, you look at it like, well, you know it is it X's and O's, there is it Jimmy and Joe's Because obviously when you look at Quentin Williams and the guys that come in, and you know, it's like, well, maybe flues isn't that bad if you get some players.

But I think it's I think it's a combination of both.

I really think that the players haven't done a great job of adapting to his scheme, but he hasn't done a great job of adapting to them.

And it's it's a fifty to fifty and right now they're not anywhere close.

So I put blame on both sides of it right now.

Speaker 4

Now.

Speaker 6

It's such a professional way to say it.

Dog, how many imas you got?

Speaker 5

I probably I probably got seven and earned two of them.

Speaker 3

Hey, what a way, because I was just gonna say I'm sick.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I'm just saying, I'll give me the watch version.

Speaker 3

Flues made me mad, and that's it.

That's the answer.

Speaker 6

You know, I really, I really watched a ton of film on the Vikers Man and Flora has got Jalen.

Do you know who Jalen Redman is?

Don't worry about it.

He's there.

He's their best defensive tackle.

Speaker 3

You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6

Isaiah Rodgers over there getting the job done.

A couple of missiles, uh, Mark, Mark Telli's, a couple of miscellaneous people you never heard of.

They playing fantastic defense over there.

I would love it if my guy Flues could elevate some people that maybe aren't superstars here.

Speaker 5

Anger, I think I think this was my feeling was on the table, laying on the table.

When Michael laid on the table way back, I say, when he laid on the table, it kind of made angry because huh.

Speaker 2

I get a little dicey.

You just throw out laying on the table.

Speaker 3

What are we talking?

Speaker 5

I forget about this show is about right when Michael person's laid on the table.

What that just knowing that he ain't coming back from this and also the show that I do it happened to answer to that.

It's like and try to ride the fence on that.

It's hard to do it when a guy did that, So that that was that was kind of angry.

Speaker 3

A little bit, all right.

Disgusted Jacobe Brissette game Arizona.

Speaker 2

That's a good one.

Speaker 3

I say the same thing man at Cardinals.

Disgusted.

I guess you could just to be different, right.

Speaker 6

Oh, I would love for my later draft picks to play more than, you know, than they've been playing.

I really expect the Jada on Blue to come here and bring a little one two punch and maybe that may have been what your defense, what your offense has been missing.

You know, if we look at Davis and how he gets down, he only gets a handful of carries, but you may get a forty yard touchdown out of those, you know.

So I just wish Jada Blue could have done some, you know, some of some of those things.

I'm disgusted that he hasn't done.

Speaker 5

If Derek was playing this, he wouldn't call out the team.

But there's been a couple of press box food spreads that that haven't.

Speaker 3

Been the standards man.

Speaker 5

Not a T and T stadium undefeated what it is like the food and depressed.

Speaker 2

But you gotta know at food, that's part of it.

That's part of the problem.

That's on me.

That's a problem.

But yes, no, that I definitely got some gripes there.

Speaker 6

So is the food man because Derek is a fancy man.

Because I might like it, you know what I'm saying.

I'm an offensive lineman.

And we we just we get down on Tyson Tyson nuggets, like we eat anything.

Speaker 2

That's bad food.

Speaker 3

It's bad food.

Speaker 2

It's really bad food.

Speaker 5

And also I like good food, so it's you know, it's like you didn't even try.

Speaker 3

Let's try for man, you just do out the.

Speaker 2

Nugg That's not fair.

All right, Here we go the next one.

Fearful man, I got one.

Speaker 3

I am afraid that boy.

These people are gonna give me some hope.

Speaker 6

Boys gonna go in this run and the defense the Eagles gonna fold like I think they're gonna fold, and we're gonna get to the to the last game of the year was the Giants.

Speaker 3

Giants look ridiculous.

The Giants.

Speaker 2

See I'm worried about that.

Washington, You not worried about that Giants?

You said, fear Okay, Yeah, that's fear.

Speaker 5

For my fear goes to the Giants game two week two, those thirty seconds between one Delle Robinson's touchdown tie in the game, because thinking about you're about to go in too and you're gonna lose the Giants Again to Russell Wilson, there is fear until Aubrey kind of saved the day there.

Speaker 2

That's true.

Speaker 3

But yeah, and.

Speaker 5

I also had fear that maybe later on that you might have a tie.

I've never seen a tie, so I didn't have fear.

You want to tires, right, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2

All right, sad.

Speaker 3

Well Man, season almost over.

You know, I hate that, you know you saw such and I cut you off before.

Speaker 5

I think with this one, I think the sadness is Marshawn Neeland.

Yeah, you know, I'm just saying because because I don't want I wanted to go first, because I don't want you to say something about the game whatever.

Marshawn Neeland I think could could trump that well, So not to take your answer, that's but I'm gonna yeah because everybody's and then we all think about it differently, grieved differently, and we've had to what did shoddy says so.

Speaker 3

Eloquently, moving forward, not moving on.

Speaker 5

And they had done a good job moving forward, but they I still love seeing the T shirts out there.

They still depends people who are the ninety four pins.

But the sadness of that whole situation.

Speaker 2

Uh, that was that was a tough one to deal.

Yeah, yeah, all right, let's go to envious.

Speaker 6

Man, I you're jealous all the time.

I see jail Hers go out there and he threw what five picks?

Four picks, and the defense just go do something to justin herbing, just get the ball right back for him.

I getting so jealous of seeing good defenses.

And I only imagine back to Sorry for Lou, But I can just think about how high flying your Cowboys offense is.

Through a terrible day, you still put thirty points up versus the versus the Lions.

And just imagine the Eagles defense that held the Lions like six points or something a couple of weeks earlier, and you beat the Lions thirty to six on the road.

Goodness, I'm ungrateful as hell.

Look at my defense when I see what other defense are doing.

Think about the Minnesota Vikers.

Minnesota Vikings haven't won a bunch of games.

They're not getting blown out.

Their defense is playing fantastic.

Their defense is keeping their terrible offense.

Speaker 3

In the game.

Speaker 6

I would love for some defense to keep my fantastic offense in the game.

Speaker 3

That'd be great.

So I'm jealous as hell.

Speaker 5

Yeah, I'm jealous of that Lions game of that they have Jamiir Gibbs and we don't.

And I don't have him on my fantasy team either.

I don't have anything to cheer for him about.

He is a fun player to watch and I've never got to cheer for him because I was actually at an Arkansas Alabama game thinking we were gonna come back until Jamiir Gibbs went for eighty twice.

So I've seen him first handing that dude.

He is that dude, and I wish the Cowboys had that guy.

Speaker 2

Now.

Speaker 5

Their offense is great, but that dynamic player.

And I wanted your take on this because because I know how much you love this player back in the day, Jamiir Gibbs seems to me the closest thing to Marshall Fulk that I've seen as a receiver.

Speaker 3

Runner line him up anywhere.

Speaker 2

Yeah, well, I think I think right now You've got two of those guys in the National Football League.

I don't know how much you watch my guy, bijonh like I think I think I think he is he and he and and Gibbs.

I think both of them are that Marshall Falk type, which right now Jean is leading the league in yard from scrimmached.

Speaker 3

Both you see did you say.

Speaker 2

Did you see that that in this last game?

Speaker 6

Wait, I'm not I'm just ignored Nichols some stuff.

Speaker 5

That's like when people say, you know, they haven't won in the last twenty nine years, why didn't you go thirty?

Speaker 3

Why did you go thirty?

Just started they?

Speaker 2

Did you see that that washing?

Speaker 7

Uh?

Speaker 1

Uh?

Speaker 2

David David was David's name, last name, the running back and the other running back, Montgomery.

Did you see when he scored last weekend?

He did the TC thing in the end zone, you know, to shards running backs coach.

Now, so I thought that was pretty cool, but not the shark choice.

He did a phenomenal job at Texas with those running backs, and it ain't no there.

It is not a coincidence, not to get too far into Texas football, It's not a coincidence that this is the worst run game that Texas had in a very very long time, in the year that the shark choice is no longer there.

Shark Choice knows what he's doing when it because it's running backs.

Speaker 3

He really does.

Speaker 2

All right, let's talk about what's the next one?

Speaker 6

Anxious Mann, all these games coming up, man, all this stuff coming up, you know, just just think about think about the playoff picture and how it's kind of shaping up in these teams that you're supposed to beat.

Right, the next four teams are teams that you're supposed to beat, And that gives me, like some of the Mills run like, Hey, let's go out there and take care of bitness and just do our thing.

But I still have no clue who this Cowboys defensive.

I'm sorry, Flues.

It goes right back to I don't know who they are, Like they'll have a fantastic three games and then they'll have a horrible, weird game.

Well is that just the case?

Because the Lions may be another one of the best offense in the league or something like that.

So it's a lot of up and down about it.

But if they go out there and even even if the Cowboys defense has an amazing diverse.

The Vikings, I still don't know if they're good at that or the Charges, I still don't know.

We won't know until we get to wild Card week and we play on a good team, whoever that may be, and we put up a great defensive versus them.

So we had a long four weeks of anxiety when it comes to this Cowboys.

Speaker 5

Yeah, when I think of a moment of anxiety that just the press box is supposed to be pretty professional, but that last that fourth quarter of the Eagles game, Yeah, we're every everybody was.

And then they finally went Aubrey made that kick.

I mean, there was some cheering in the press spots when it really is not supposed to be.

But that those those four or five minutes of anxiety of also getting that fumble and then not scoring off of it.

But then Osa gets the sack and then first and fumbles but it goes out of bounds and then they go and.

Speaker 3

Kick the field going to win the game.

It's like, yeah, there was some anxiety on that one.

Speaker 2

Honestly, that's one of the hardest part of it doing this job is if you're a football fan, you natural.

For me, I would say I watch football with emotion, so I react to things that happened.

And the press box you're supposed to keep it tight.

And it's I know if when I first started doing this, when we were all at the old Texas Stadium, me and Nick and it was man, that was that was hard to not, you know, express your emotion as you're watching this game.

And then you have to learn how to do that because it's not natural for a football fan not to watch with some emotion.

Speaker 6

So is there somebody there to escort you out?

Because how I imagine you two are very powerful men here who dare tells Nick Even and Derek Eaves and y'all got to ge out because y'all make it.

Speaker 5

We sit too close to Clarence Hill for us to ever be heard.

Speaker 2

Make some noise.

Speaker 3

Patrick Patrick gets in there.

I think Isaiah was a you know, I mean.

Speaker 2

Well, Isaiah used to the press box.

That's part of the problem.

He's not a press box guy.

He's not their office.

Speaker 3

Yeah, you know, and we've we've been on the road a little bit.

Speaker 5

In some places, they basically do the wave in Washington if there's something bad in Washington.

Speaker 6

See, I know, I can't make noise but if I was y'all, I've been at holding the house man.

Speaker 3

Wait.

Example, we do our own thing one time.

You know what was funny.

Speaker 5

I remember this game is against the Jets, like ten years ago, and we were we had the same We've sat next to each other a long time.

And Bryce Butler makes this catch and he's he's at like the twenty, the ten, the five.

Speaker 3

I mean, it looks like he's gonna.

Speaker 5

Score, and he just went out of bounds, and Derek and I both at the same time, just moved the chair back like at the same time we did our own thing.

It was like, what what what in the world?

I don't Yeah, but I've gone back to watch that play and it's not as bad as it looked then.

Speaker 2

But we have that day.

It was bad that day, it was, but I've.

Speaker 3

Gone back to watch it.

Speaker 5

It wasn't like he just stepped out on you know, because he wanted to stop the clock.

Speaker 3

That was the play.

It was funny, though.

Speaker 6

I gotta go up there and kick with y'all when they break the rules, get kicked out and not come back again.

Speaker 3

That'd be hard.

Speaker 2

That actually be pretty funny, right.

We got we got two more, We got to get through quick you're board.

Speaker 6

Uh, watching other teams gave me about flues, watching other teams.

Speaker 3

Hoping that they lose to my Cowboys and getting the playoffs.

Speaker 5

I mean, not bored, but but the feeling after the tie, like you know, it wasn't we weren't bored, but you but what's the feeling?

Speaker 3

It was like, I don't know, Yeah, this is good.

Speaker 2

That's about as close to it as you can get.

Like that game is just kind of like what do we?

Speaker 3

Just?

What do we?

What happened here?

Is this good?

Is this is gonna come back to bidamins?

Speaker 2

And I think fans were like that too.

It was like it was a weird feeling in the same Yeah, it wasn't a lot of cheering.

It was just kind of like everybody's just kind of like that happened.

Yeah, okay, that happened.

Speaker 5

But I know the guys that actually worked that that, you know, do the music, the entertainment all that, they didn't.

Speaker 3

Know what to play.

Speaker 5

You know, they have a you know when we played cool in the game or whatever, lose and it's like I don't know.

Speaker 3

What we play?

Speaker 2

That's funny.

You went back to Texas Texas Stadium after wind, they'd always play celeb Yeah, do that anymore?

Yeah, all right?

The final one embarrassed.

Speaker 6

It'd be damn embarrassing JJ mccarth to go out there.

That would be and put some yawds and touchdowns on you.

If you put some yawds and touchdowns on you, and and let's just say like that's that's done.

Speaker 3

Cowboys lose, this week is over?

Is this the is this the.

Speaker 2

Worst quarterback that the Cowboys will have faced this year?

Speaker 3

Carson Wentz is better hold on because the numbers.

Speaker 5

My embarrassment one was just the feeling in Carolina, because.

Speaker 2

I think, well, you don't like Carolina.

Speaker 3

First of all, I.

Speaker 5

Don't like Carolina.

I hate that place.

Yea, but he's got some story, hate that stadium story.

But Bryce Young, I don't feel like is a guy that should have beaten you like that.

And I also don't think Rico should be going for one to eighty on anybody.

Speaker 2

Because he called a shot like That's what was embarrassing about that, y'all better come ready and you could and he basically backed it up.

And that that to me was embarrassing.

Speaker 5

Yeah, and they and butzing Bryce Young five times?

Was was that would be enough for one series for me, because I don't think he would go five plays if you blitzed him five times or three times.

But anyways, that was embarrassing, So you blame it on the play calls.

Yeah, no, Yeah they didn't.

They didn't get after him, no at all.

He's a short quarterback and if you butz him, he becomes shorter because the pocket just collapses in his face and he can't throw it anybody.

Speaker 4

Damn.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 6

But to answer your question, I think J.

J.

McCarthy's probably worse than Bryce Young right now.

He's he's playing worse.

Speaker 2

You think he's the worst one they'll they'll face off season.

Speaker 3

He's like thirty ninth or something, and like.

Speaker 2

Worse than Russell Wilson.

Speaker 6

He's worse than uh points, He's worse than their third string got uh Brozeman Bozeman both who exactly because Winz got hurt too and then Bozeman had to come in and play, and he's like there third guy.

He put up better quarterback numbers than JJ did.

Jjmcarter playing terrible football.

Speaker 2

Right now, so it would be really embarrassing.

Speaker 6

I'd be I'd be sick, and I wouldn't come to work.

Speaker 2

I'm lying I would if I say you going to where you're gonna make that money, I'm.

Speaker 3

Making a break.

Speaker 6

But it'll it'll suck if your playoff hopes and dreams after doing great verus jayla Hurst who went great, and Pat Mahons all this kind of stuff, and then just he gets you, McCarthy gets you.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, all right, we're gonna take our final break.

We will come back.

We'll get some predictions.

See what these guys think is gonna happen this Sunday, Cowboys versus Vikings.

Are you kicking out?

Speaker 2

I'm not doing anything, no, I said, y'all want.

Speaker 3

To do this like the three of us.

Whatever you wander about Tuesday.

Speaker 2

No, Tuesday.

Oh, we're not doing any shows Tuesy.

Yeah.

By the way, for you fans out there, we're not doing shows Tuesday.

Speaker 3

I need that money.

Speaker 5

Man.

Speaker 3

We're not just come in and just do a show just like Beam.

Nobody's gonna do.

Nobody's gonna be YouTube.

Speaker 2

I know how to No, no, we do.

We are that day.

We are going to the to the Salvation Army and we will be I love this.

By the way, we do this every year.

We're gonna take our entire team out the Salvation Army and we're gonna help pass out some of the gifts that we get through angel Trees.

So the families that will get getting those gifts for their little ones will come through and we'll be able to give them those gifts.

Man, it's it's it seems.

It is one of the more rewarding things I get to do every year, just because you're getting to see front lines helping people you know, and I think that's really cool.

So we do that every year with our team.

So we won't be doing shows Tuesday, will be out there serving and we're back on Wednesday.

Speaker 3

So I won't complain about not working Tuesday.

Speaker 2

You go.

That's why I said it.

So you can stop with all that and just be like, hey, you know, as a matter of fact, if you want to come serve with us, you're more than welcome to come serve with us.

Speaker 6

I got three other jobs, but I'll call and see where I can pop up if y'all still doing.

Speaker 2

We're gonna be there.

We're gonna be there from like eleven and one thirty eleven one thirty.

You can come meet us and join us.

Yeah, I'll serve with us.

Speaker 3

I'll call and see who are there?

Yeah, see who?

Speaker 2

That's like a party, and who are there?

Like you wanna come through over there?

Speaker 3

Who's there over there?

Speaker 4

All?

Speaker 7

Right?

Speaker 2

Here we go.

Give me some predictions of what you think is gonna happen in this game, Nicky.

You're our guests.

Let's start with you.

Speaker 5

You know, I haven't even gone down this road yet.

I think it's gonna be close.

I think the Cowboys I'm gonna give them a win, but man, it's gonna be tight.

I say, twenty eight twenty seven, it's gonna be some of these emotions that we are talked about.

I think they're gonna be evident in this game.

But at the end of the day, I do think the Cowboys offense will score just enough.

They're gonna make McCarthy look good.

Justin, Jefferson, it's the same thing.

Remember Marvin Harrison hadn't done anything all year, and then he did.

Aj Brown hadn't had anything that justin, It's gonna be a breakout game.

Speaker 3

I think the Cowboys prevailed twenty eight twenty seven.

Speaker 6

Nick Eban, I'm a homer, you know what I'm saying.

So every week I feel like the Cowboys can beat everybody until they don't.

So I think the Cowboys gonna beat the hell out the Vikers.

Man, it's just how I go.

I think they're capable of putting up thirty five thirty four points against the Vikings, but it's not gonna be an easy thirty four.

They're gonna be one of them cruising ones.

I think the Cowboys gonna do what they always do.

They're gonna start off a little slow, and they're gonna kind of figure out what Flora is is doing.

But the biggest key in this game is that it's a home game.

We get to talk communicate because you know, we get to sort all this stuff out.

If it was a if we was going to minnesota'd be different.

But it's a home game.

I think the Cowboys gonna put up a ton of points.

I think JJ McCarty gonna throw us the ball a couple of times, so thirty five, they'll still have a good dawn offense because I just think that way about our defense.

Speaker 3

Eighteen.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I'm to look at this game and I see it very similar to that botch.

I think if it's a road game, I'd be really concerned.

I'd be really concerned they were going to Minnesota because that defends the jacket for that.

Yeah, I don't I don't don't do jackets very often, but yeah, you're right, Like, I don't mind.

Speaker 6

It's twenty the physical jacket or like I just mean just going to going that's the high level slop talking no no.

Speaker 3

No, no, no, no no no.

Speaker 5

I was talking about I'm just talking, okay, like a physical Yeah, I'm just bringing my my mixed shots version of this and talking whether.

Speaker 2

Colone.

Speaker 3

Well, I'm just.

Speaker 5

Saying that they talk.

But I've been talking whether a lot.

But thankfully it's here where it's only gonna be.

Speaker 2

Like yeah, but on the road, this team is different.

They are, and until they show me something different, I'm gonna believe they're different on the road.

This offense is different on the road, and going against a defense that proposes so many different types of things that maybe you don't get to see regularly, that does make that would worry me a lot if they were on the road at home.

I think it's going to just take them a little bit to get used to.

We've seen this before.

They will enter a game.

It'll take a few series for them to figure it out.

But once they figure it out, they start rolling.

I think that's how this game plays.

So I think they end up scoring a pretty decent amount of points.

I think the defense gets some stops.

But I agree with you guys, I don't think this is like a shutout.

I don't think the defense is in that position.

I would love to see them do that.

That would be the only way I would have a different opinion.

Like you said, I don't know what this defense is.

I would have a better idea.

If they shut them out.

They shut them out.

Now, I'm like, Okay, they're better than I think they are if they just hold them to which I think it's probably going to be a thirty one twenty three type game.

If they hold them twenty three, I still don't know what this defense really is or if this is just a function of a bad offense.

If they play, But I do think Dallas wins.

I think it's a game where they don't score as many points as they've been scoring at home, but certainly enough to where it's a comfortable win for them.

And then they're off and moving to what I think it's probably the toughest of this four game stretch to play.

Sandy San Diego always gonna callm San Diego the LA Chargers.

All Right, we appreciate you guys.

Join us.

We will be back on uh what was that Monday?

Monday, and we'll talk about what went right and wrong for the Cowboys till the in for vache Lambartney, Nick Keetman, I'm Derek Eagles, and it has been the Break live on Dallas Cowboys dot Com Radio.
