Episode Transcript

Speaker 1

So he breaks up with me to date the sophomore and I made him a mixed tape of mixed CD of all of these love songs and it had like Brian McKnight like back at Once, Yeah, like as yet, like all these like a shy you know the ones mixtape and like confess my love and put a picture of us in a frame and I like waited for him and I gave it to him afterwards, and I was like, come on, get back together like Desperado, Calm down with Erin and Carissa is a production of iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2

Thank you, Audrey?

Speaker 1

Speaker 2

What are you doing over there?

I'm right on top of that, bros.

Speaker 1

Well you look, it's the start of the season.

Speaker 2

This is.

Speaker 1

You know the one, the lone Crush strip, the seventy five pairs of Gypsy.

Speaker 2

Oh you know this necklace like chain for those things great, and that's at the YZ Golf Club.

That's that thing is fire where guys.

Look, you want to fake tennis necklace?

No problem, I got that you too.

We got jewelry for every occasion.

Welcome to the pregame, everybody.

Aaron and I are fresh off of coming from ten different places.

Are going to be home for about five seconds before we head out again.

So let's do this.

Speaker 1

Gal, you just got your hair done.

Speaker 2

You look fantastic.

Thanks for adding some low lights.

Adding some low lights.

The orange overprocessed look is out out the door?

What is this accent?

Speaker 1

I don't know as I'm looking at my Uti medicine.

Speaker 2

Is the brand?

What is the brand?

Got out too?

Speaker 1

I was doing so well Nitro Feodoraniani, macro what is that generic for?

Speaker 2

Macrobin?

It stops the burn, That's what it's generic for.

Speaker 1

Thank god for my guyd in college.

Seriously, those of you that don't know my gyn in colleges set me up with a boyfriend one time.

That really that work to work out.

But my gynecologists and I are very close.

You do look like your sister.

What is that from from Knocked Up?

Speaker 2

Great?

Speaker 1

So funny?

Speaker 2

Was that?

Ken Jong?

It sure was?

Yeah?

Speaker 1

Sure was?

Wait, I don't think he's no, Maybe it wasn't.

Speaker 2

You can ask him if it was.

That would make me so happy.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

For those of you that are new to the podcast, I got a cute you guys a lot.

They weren't happening very regularly, but for some reason it's back, and it happened on a cross country flight from DC to Los Angeles.

And with that, shall we get into our questions, comments and concerns this week, because apparently I have a lot of them.

Speaker 2

Okay, Fenn, Yeah, are you on this medication as well?

Fen Ya's slung man.

Speaker 1

I don't have money, cute it with you?

Ladies prefer sauna or hot tab?

Well, not a hot tap with this current situation.

I'm betther can't do that.

That's dangerous.

I like infrared sauna.

Yeah, yeah, we do get one gets right clear light little wink wink situation.

We will have more on that after the break.

But I like a full as Steve refers to it, the Wallgrove resort and spot.

I like the whole experience.

I like a cold plunge.

I like into the hot tub.

I like when the sauna is available that as well.

I give me a d all of the above.

It really depends on what we're in for.

I don't use my hot Steve uses it every day because he has back pain.

Yeah, but and so does my Dad's the same kind of way.

When my dad's here, he's in that bad boy every day.

But do you use your hot to I don't see you going out there very often.

Speaker 2

No, I use our hot tub in Montana.

That's a time and Maggie doodle Doo loves getting in that too.

Bobbles Bobble lot on for the bubbles.

Those are cute.

But yeah, I am really really excited about this infrared song I sit light.

I mean, I'm expecting to look like I'm twenty four, ammon system like I'm fifteen.

Speaker 1

It's really going to change things.

Oh yeah, give me off, give me all of the attachments that come with it as well, Castle Family.

Any new routines you will add to this season to keep you going well, I love that question.

Speaker 2

Have you thought about her as the doctor Cindy?

That's a routine good.

Speaker 1

I should have her on this to like talk to people about what we're up to in the streets.

Speaker 2

You know we should.

Speaker 1

Doctor Cindy is Aaron's doctor, who she's been kind Aaron.

Speaker 2

This is what Aaron.

Speaker 1

This is who Aaron is in my life, you guys.

She does all the research, she finds all these incredible specialists in their respective field, and then I just piggyback off of it, whether it is hair, makeup, health, all the things.

So Aaron is my my yelp uh review guy that I just go great.

She gives it five stars.

So doctor Cindy is incredible.

I did a couple nads because you did them.

Steve actually brought that up the other day.

We need to do ramp that up before even starts get a little things going.

Okay, So health is one.

I'm going to do two things that I've already thought about as I'm cleaning out my jewelry things.

I'm done with all the pouches.

You and I have talked about this.

You give me all of them.

We're done with it.

We're going into or We're going to consolidate into one big pouch because this side little.

Speaker 2

One, here, one, here, so many pouches.

I don't know what I'm doing with them.

Speaker 1

And then when I'm on the airplane, I'm taking out all the pouches, and then I'm afraid that someone I'm going to leave one on the floor.

There's one in the overhead.

They're just all over.

So I need to be better about my organization of the bag, the little compartments and as cheesy as sometimes those Amazon like organizers are within the bag, maybe I need to do that where it has all the compartments I know.

Speaker 2

But I got a question.

We need our pouches.

What are we putting in our pouches?

Because I got one pouch with forty lip glosses.

Don't need it all?

No know when you do.

Gotten another one with the hand sanitizers, the face spray, got another one with the Creed team the call.

What am I doing?

Speaker 1

We're gonna get We're gonna get organized on that.

So I just need less stuff.

I also don't need to take it all.

And that's like, it can't be week three and I look like I'm having a garage sale in the bottom of these bags.

Speaker 2

It's disgusting.

It's so gross.

Speaker 1

So organization, and then I'm also going to be better and I say this with great optimism prior to the start of the season again, check back in with us week seven.

I'm not going to pack five minutes before my flight.

I'm done with that.

And I'm going to try my clothes on before I get to the location.

So then I'm not running to the local mall.

I mean, twenty years, I'm into this fucking gig and I was still doing it the last interview that I had.

Thank God, the ballad was attached the Tyson Center at the you know whatever in DC.

Yeah, enough with the running to the mall and looking for the right undergarment.

Speaker 2

I almost think.

Speaker 1

You're addicted to the like the thrill of the chase.

I think you might be right.

I mean, this is ridiculous.

And then I get like I'm all stressed out and like, no, just plan ahead.

I am too old to be rummaging around and yeah, last second on everything, like, no, just be an adult, crisa so organization and trying call.

Speaker 2

You're in two cities in two weeks.

That's over one year.

That's really difficult.

It is.

It's a lot.

Imagine.

I don't even know how I did it.

That's why I write the list.

And it's still Yeah, you are really good about a list.

No, but it's fine, it doesn't matter, okay, Ah, I'm Emerson.

I'm Emerson.

What do these final weeks before football takes over your life look like?

Are you prepping?

You want to know what it looks like?

Speaker 1

It looks like that, Like it's this you should see like we're doing we're doing opening packages.

Speaker 2

We're I got to go through my closet too.

Am I prepping?

Yeah?

I'm watching a lot.

I need to start dialing in and reading soon, but I'm watching a lot.

I liked watching the pregame coverage the other day for the Hall of Fame game.

That was fun.

I've got training camp on every day.

Yeah, I said to my husband the other day, it's just so good to have these guys back on TV.

I was like, I could have it on silence, but just so see.

I'm like, what's up, Mike Tomlin, what's going on?

Drave Like, you know, it's just nice to see the guys out there.

Speaker 1

I was watching our friend Shregor, this morning host, get up, and I just love him, Shregs.

I already miss him because I used to have spent the last however many years with Sregor at Fox, and then he went to ESPN and he's doing all these wonderful things.

But they were having a conversation of the top five quarterbacks in the NFC, and yeah, the fact that Matthew Stafford isn't in the top five quarterback conversation in the NFC.

Speaker 2

Who are they singing?

Speaker 1

Nuts?

All due respect to these five, I'm sorry none of them are won a Super Bowl.

Speaker 2

So, first of all, who said this?

It was my ten and Bomb had his list.

Speaker 1

He was saying, Jordan's Love is the number one quarterback in the NFC.

Speaker 2

Totally personal opinion.

Speaker 1

But dan Rolovsky was like, dude, where's Matthew Stafford on this list?

Like they had Jayalen Hurts.

Speaker 2

Okay, we get it.

Speaker 1

You just won a Super Bowl.

It was Baker Mayfield, it was who was number two?

Oh, Jayden Daniels, Jordan Love.

But it was just one of these things where I'm like, Matthews in his like seventeenth year and we're still having this conversation of like, how is he not a top five quarterback in the NFC?

Anyways, it just blew my mind.

Or dani Rolofsky was doing the same thing.

He's like, you guys, wake up.

So I just like those kinds of debates.

I like, the whole before the season starts, what team is going to be great?

And then it's like, you know, oh, do the Bengals do they have to?

Are they the team with you know, the most pressure on it because they always have.

They've started the last however many years going oh and two or oh and three, and then they got to climb out of the basement, especially in that division.

So it's just always fun with the prognostications of like quarterbacks or teams or all of those things.

Speaker 2

What is prognostic?

I'll telling you something.

Matthew Stafford one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFC also probably top two NFC or top five humor.

The guy's funny.

I mean we like every joke he makes or any little comment or like the things that we.

Speaker 1

And the best part about Matthew is he knows it.

You know, we are the laughing track for everything he.

Speaker 2

Has to say.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly, Matthew wants is around at all times because we laugh at everything he says.

Kelly's like, okay, we got it, Like I said, Einfeld laugh track.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I'm very excited for the season, But what do the what did the few weeks leading up to the season look like.

I'm trying to take in as much like of the last little free time as I can, which is which is, you know, go do this a little bit, do this a little bit.

I've got an event that's going to take me up to Monterey, like, uh, Steve's never been to pebble me.

I'm very fancy.

Okay, I was just putting diamonds in my ears in case you missed it.

Yeah, it's called I need to pay my bills.

But no, just things like that were kind of fit them in last second.

I hope, I well, I'm going to see you today actually, but I hope we get like one more four Top six Top Dealing.

Speaker 2

Okay, next, what do we got.

Speaker 1

Macaiah Cruz Krause, what is your funniest moment in.

Speaker 2

High school with a boyfriend?

Speaker 1

Boyfriend?

Like a failed kiss?

My dad walked in on my boyfriend and I in my bedroom my house.

That was and anyone that knows my father to have Scott Thompson walk in now, granted, like my shirt was off, I was in a braa, but like my pants were on or something.

But like, still, that's mortifying when your father walks in.

Speaker 2

He say middle oh oh, he said no.

Speaker 1

He grabbed the guy by the back of his which was still on, pushed him out out the thing, and we got a stern talking to and told that young man that he needed to leave the house immediately.

Then proceeded to call his parents because they were all friends and was like the middle of the day on a Friday.

Speaker 2

He was golfing.

Speaker 1

My dad was golfing and I should have known, like on a Friday afternoon, and I should have heard the garage door open, the sheer risk that your father's cat, Kathy was at work.

Kathy was busy, I don't know.

So that one didn't go over very well.

So that wasn't really funny.

That was just really traumatizing from my high school boyfriend and I had getting caught by my father the Friday afternoon.

Speaker 2

What about you?

I don't really have boyfriends.

No, I don't know what's the funniest moment in high school with a boyfriend.

I can't really think I remember one guy fun Oh, I actually have another one too.

My mom would always like a guy that I dated.

She'd always like after we broke up.

After the would be like, oh I just thought of another one.

No, I would never tell that that's bad.

God.

Wait, now you have to say it, Matt.

Speaker 1

So what was like this one guy I like broke up with or whatever broken off?

Was like thank God because he showed Dad and I promise ring he was gonna give me.

Speaker 2

What are we promising that I would go off to Florida and stay No, what's going on?

Crazy?

Promise Ring?

Oh my god, I promise you.

How about the same boyfriend.

Speaker 1

I was like so in love with him, and he broke up with me to date the sophomore.

I was this old senior at that point, So he breaks up with me to date the sophomore, and I made him a mixed tape of mixed CD of all of these love songs, and it had like Brian McKnight like back at Once, Yeah, like as Yet and like all these like shy you know the ones mixtape and like confess my love and put a picture of us in a frame.

And I like waited for him and I gave it to him afterwards, and I was like, let's come on, get back together, like desperado, and he's like, no, bitch with the hot young sophomore.

Speaker 2

See ya.

Did you ever get your parents to like maybe tell a fib for you if you got it.

This is before cell phones and you got to call it home from a boy.

Oh yeah, but home.

Yeah, my and my parents knew I was out with somebody else.

And my dad's like, I'm not doing that again.

Oh he lied for you.

Yeah, well I needed him too, that's crue.

No.

Speaker 1

I didn't have that.

I just had like if I didn't want to talk to somebody.

I still remember my house line four two, five, four and eight.

I wonder if someone has that number again, I should call it.

Speaker 2

I still have my parents still have our house line.

They do.

Yeah.

Speaker 1

God, I remember everyone's phone number, like I still know my mom's self everything because we had to.

He was number.

Now I couldn't.

I only know your area code.

Speaker 2

I know none of the other part of your phone number.

Yeah, I don't know yours either.

Do you know Jared's phone number?

I think so.

Speaker 1

Oh see, I don't know Steve's And he'll ask me.

He'll be like, you got that thing memorize and I'm like, I'm working on it.

Speaker 2

The only reason why I know it is because it's.

Speaker 1

Our CBS like rewards things like pass code.

Speaker 2

That's it.

Speaker 1

Oh, I got to be incentivized with the old Ralph's phone number.

Speaker 2

This is a great question, ALYSSA two two one two.

How are we dealing with post extension hair?

My Ramen noodle blonde hair is screaming.

I love her.

I love this romy noodle.

That was me, That's been me for a whole year and a half.

I'm on a new I'm on a new journey.

Hey, can I tell you.

And literally we were talking about Chris's hair and how healthy and lovely it's going.

I am on, I'm not paid by these people, but I'll say it.

I do take nutrifole.

I love it.

Speaker 1

Also, again not paid, but I will jose another thing I really love.

Speaker 2

And I was just talking to the girl that was coloring my hair about this.

I love the Rose Park products our o .

Those products are fire okay, through the conditioner, the hair mask.

It is a little hard to open.

There is a treatment oil to put in like at night or like maybe ten minutes before you wash your hair, which I you would love.

There's a finishing oil.

There's like a milk that you can do.

There's a thickening spray.

I love all the products.

Okay, go marrow with your bad self.

It's called rose Roz.

You can get it at Sephora, not an ad, but I love.

Speaker 1

It, okay along those Similianes Alyssa, I totally hear you on the RAM.

No, So this is where I got mine and it still is a little bit like this.

It's the underpart where all the extensions are and then it just like crinkles and crinkles up like you know, when you had that ribbon that you had to take the scissors.

It's like that, but mine's getting so much healthier.

My products that have saved me again, not an ad Wela Nikki nine ero one has helped reshape this bad boy and wella products.

She was like, just listen to me, and I'm like, you know, I want to do my own thing.

She goes, just be religious about using these and it will get your hair healthy.

Speaker 2

What is it?

It's just it's like a repair shampoo.

Speaker 1

It's a I did it today, the conditioner one that you like leave in for a couple of minutes while you shave your legs, because.

Speaker 2

That's also so me.

Speaker 1

It says recommended leave in for three minutes, and I'm like, thirty seconds, that's enough.

Nope, point I know who has time?

I know, But then I do it when I have to shave my legs.

So I'm trying to be better about it.

And I notice such a difference in my overall hair and so Aaron knows this.

I was contemplating putting extensions back in to start the seasons.

I have to do these marketing shoots for Amazon this week, so I had to make the decision at the hair place.

I was like, am I doing it or not?

Speaker 2

And I'm not.

Speaker 1

And now I'm feeling like it's going to be a little boring without selling.

Speaker 2

Your hair looks so fanned.

I don't mean to whine.

Why am I whining?

Mac?

Your hair looks great.

It's gorgeous.

You You're in such a great spot with your hair.

It's beautiful.

It's very Charlie, it's very Cameron Diaz Holiday like.

It is gorgeous.

Oh well, thank you.

Speaker 1

I appreciate it.

Just feels a little and I say this respectfully.

Isn't it kind of like b like in terms of length, Like I'm happy with the collars uckfully lud just like it feels a little boring now.

But anyway, so Melyssa, how do we pronounce the products?

Speaker 2

Rose?

Ross Rose?

Also another one I want to add Kelly eighteen.

That handisher is fire, Aaron's rich.

That's very expensive.

Speaker 1

It is, okay, it isn't I have that little one like it's like a little same Oh oh I thought it was pricey.

Oh.

Anyways, we think about all the same money we spend our hair, like for our hair, it's worth it a listen, let us know on your journey now, I'm just stay with it, don't put them back in.

Speaker 2

Stay with it.

Speaker 1

And if you can get clip ins clip back, that's good.

In between, I'm gonna throw on a few tonight when we go see our boys.

Speaker 2

Hey, but your hair looks your hairt color is really good.

I'm happy with what you're getting there.

We're getting there.

We're getting there.

Yeah, told me it's going to take a couple couple times.

We'll get there.

Everybody's great, Okay, sin A go go.

How do you balance the professional interviewing with the one hundred percent fan energy.

Speaker 3

I don't.

Speaker 2

I don't.

I'm a huge fan of all the guys that I cover, and I get so excited to talk to them.

I don't.

Speaker 1

I I same.

I mean I look back and I think on some of them.

Speaker 2

I'll like them, I you know.

Speaker 1

And all my interviews now come on the desk with the other guys, like yours are all one on one, and your yours are right after the game like mine.

Speaker 2

The boys are.

Speaker 1

You know, the guys will either they go into the locker room or it'll be like a few you know, they'll do the on field interview, or they'll do a couple of things, So it's not right away, so it's a little less like in the moment, but yeah, I still I get really excited for whoever it is.

I remember Baker Mayfield had this like crazy, crazy comeback and I was like, oh my, I was like totally turned into a fan and that was probably not professional, but I didn't care.

Speaker 2

I was like, that was fucking awesome.

Speaker 1

I'm a sports fan and like dramatic finishes and no matter who it is, so next week it could have been the opposite team that I'm rooting for.

In terms of I like to watch good football, and if something happens or something good happens for guys that we root for and care about, then yeah, I also think, listen, it's taken us a minute to get where we are.

You have to build up credibility.

Speaker 2

You have to build up with not only the viewers at home, your bosses, but also the players and the coaches.

You can't go into things when you first start with any job and be like, oh my god, people will look at you and be like you're an asshole.

But now, I mean, I think of certain times that I've interviewed Patrick or I've interviewed Aaron after big games, you know, or anybody really and you're just like fans at home.

And I love this about Fox much.

And I remember when I first got to Fox, somebody said they want to see you having a good time and smiling, and it's so true.

And I love that about Fox and the way, you know, we have our talent look like they're having a good time because we are.

We have one of the best jobs in the world.

So yeah, there's nothing wrong with like sitting on the desk with Baker after an amazing game or any of these guys and be like, can we just talk about this last play?

It's awesome.

Speaker 3

So yeah, yeah, that's a good point though, because I've I tried to pay it forward and I know you do too, in terms of you know, young women or men that want to do this job and they'll ask, you know, like look at their resume tape or different things and stuff like that, and I'm like, Okay, we're gonna need to break it down.

Speaker 2

Just a little bit.

Speaker 1

It can't be like nah, It's like there's a time and a place.

But then you also still need to have the balance of professional cadence.

Anonymous.

I love Anonymous, been with my husband for a total of seven years married.

For the last two we've had a long distance relationship and some heartsre ccumstances due to jobs.

But we are finally home together.

I'm starting to realize I've ignored red flags and I'm not happy in my marriage, and I think I've reached a point where I don't want to fix it either.

Any advice for a thirty year old girl who's scared to leave and start over.

Am I doing the right thing?

Oh?

My god, I feel this so much.

Oh I feel this deep in my soul.

First of all, thank you for being honest to yourself about the situation, because it's one thing to be in denial like oh it's fine, everything's fine.

You've clearly had like an awakening of like, no, this is not this is not what I want.

Speaker 2

I would say, because you have.

Speaker 1

And again, so much of their relationship wasn't together that.

Yeah, once you're under the same roof, then you realize like, oh god, maybe I really don't like this person.

Number one, I would start with communication.

You've got to talk to your significant other.

Maybe he's feeling the same thing.

Maybe there's maybe there's something that you guys both can work through Now you say like, you don't know if you want to fix it.

I would put together a pros and cons list and then tear it up and burn it and never let him see it.

Because wasn't there a sex in the City episode where there was the long King Polly or that, Yeah, yeah, you don't want the other, you don't want the I just mean for yourself to put down on paper and then ultimately ask yourself the one question, is my life better with this person or is it better without this person?

And if you can answer that question even before having an honest, sit down conversation with him, and you're saying that your life is better without him, then you got to get out.

I am the biggest, but you're only thirty years old.

I mean, I don't care what age you are.

I got my second divorce at what was I forty?

Was I forty?

Yeah, it's been three It's been three years, So it's like I was scared to death to have to, you know, fail again.

I was like, oh, but nothing could have kept me in a situation that didn't make me happy at the end of the day.

Speaker 2

So you have to put yourself first.

Speaker 1

But at least you owe it to that other person to exhaust the options and really see where you guys are both at, because you did make a commitment, and I'm not even though I've had two divorces, I'm a big believer of like, you made a commitment.

But at the end of the day, if you've kind of exhausted all things to fix it, then you have every right to live your own life and walk away.

Speaker 2

But I hope that helps.

Please let us know, like what's going on if you can.

But on the bright side, it's really great you're recognizing this and not suppressing it.

Yep, it's scary.

Speaker 1

It's scary, but your girlfriend life is too short.

But just remember that.

I just I always remember.

I kept asking myself this question, is my life better with this person or without it?

And if it's very obvious, it's better without the person?

Speaker 2

Bye bye God.

Speaker 1

Coming up on the Big Show, we got a lot of fun things to talk about.
