Episode Transcript
I just think I was kind of an idiot.
What do you mean just thinking about dating?
And yeah, calm down with Aeron and Carissa is a production of iHeartRadio.
Oh no, the Pros and Consolatest Shoot okay, oh no?
Speaker 2Was there a movie where they made a frozen console a person found in came Polly shit.
Speaker 3That's all right.
I was like, wait a minute, all right.
Speaker 2I all I remember was all the pillows Welcome everybody to the pregame.
That was a teaser of an anonymous follow up, which we will get to shortly.
As always, thank you for your questions, comments and concern concerns writing into the pregame here as we enter week eleven, big show to follow, as everyone knows.
But let's get to the pregame, my gal.
We start with Judy Hogland Jewel Team.
Oh yeah, Herd too, sorry, the one Julie Hogland.
Which football teams record?
Speaker 3Wow?
Speaker 2Which football team's record surprises you the most at this point to the seat at the start of the season.
I'll just start where my first instinct goes, always the Colts, because I think that's everyone's biggest surprise team.
Speaker 1You can go Patriots, the Patriots.
I was going to say and two.
Yeah, I mean even Denver.
Speaker 2Denver, you know, is eight and two as well, So I think there's a lot of surprise teams.
Speaker 3But yeah, those are the three off the top of my head.
You I'm surprised.
Speaker 1Seattle's seven in two, right, I just I guess I should have paid attention to that.
I'm going to standings right now.
You got New England, you got Pittsburgh, you got Indie.
Yep, you hit that Denver, which was your game.
Nope, I am not what God can't just everybody leave me alone.
Philly, not surprised.
It's gonna be interesting to see tonight with Green Bay.
They're the leaders in the NFC North right now, but we'll see what happens Tampa.
Speaker 3What happened there?
Yeah, I think you count it.
Speaker 1Colts, Bronco's pit Patres Padrels are up there.
How about Drake May right now is leading the MVP And.
Speaker 2No disrespect to to Drake May because he's having an outstanding year.
Why is Matthew Stafford not number one right now on the MVP list.
I still don't understand why this guy, after this many years in the league, has to continue to like and he doesn't care.
Speaker 3But I don't know.
I'm just that's crazy.
I saw that today too.
Speaker 1Nuts.
Moving right along, moving along, You're okay, Anonymous.
I am thinking about getting back to dating after time away.
Any times, I don't think I was a good dater.
Speaker 3I don't know.
Speaker 1I feel like you had this more locked in than I did.
Speaker 2I just dated a lot more because you were in the I'm so boring.
Speaker 3No, you are not boring, am.
Speaker 2I just went through various stages where I went like and I was in my like fuck it like stage, and then I was But I'm a serial monogamous, like I like being in a relationship.
Speaker 3I would prefer that.
Speaker 2But when I come out of bad relationships, then I you know, obviously it was like you know whoa, we're this girl co.
Speaker 3How to lose a guy in six days?
Speaker 1So I would say, thinking back getting back into dating, We've talked about this before.
I do not envy that world at all.
I have some good girlfriends that are single and they're like the app sock this, you know whatever, they want to be set up, they wanted to happen organically.
So I would say, with limited experience in this department, I would say just be open that.
I say this to my girlfriend Jen, and I'm just going to call her out here on this.
She's so picky, and I think that's good to be picky.
But I also think you should just like, instead of being like, oh I have to have this, this, this, this, and this, I think you go out.
It's like, you know, if you're hungry, sample a lot of different things instead and.
Speaker 3See, Okay, I know I don't like this.
I know I don't like this.
I don't know.
Speaker 1I just I think that it's important if you really want to get back into the dating world to just be open minded, not like he has to be six foot five or he has to be whatever.
Speaker 3And yes, there are.
Speaker 2Some non negotiables, I get that, like if religion or if an economics like situation, okay, fine, but just have a little bit of wiggle room and not be so close minded, because I think he might be surprised that there's some good people and you might have already ruled them out if you're just so specific.
So be open minded, have fun, like think about it kind of like in a way, like what do you have to lose except gain a guy that you could be with forever.
Speaker 3So I don't know, have some fun with it.
Speaker 2Don't put so much pressure on yourself or on that person to make him the one.
I always feel like when people go on dates, it's like is he the one?
And it's like, dude, you don't want to like relax, so sort of be open and lighthearted and relaxed.
Speaker 1I feel like women typically put all the pressure on it.
But I have some guy friends in my life that put a lot of pressure or on dates, and I just want to say to them stop.
But yeah, I mean that's me being a hypocrite because I feel like I put a lot of pressure on stuff.
Speaker 3Gosh, that is easier to give and do a.
Speaker 1Couple of things.
But I'm where I want to be, So that's interesting.
I just think I was kind of an idiot.
What do you mean just thinking about dating?
And yeah, why I feel like we should dig in there.
Speaker 3But we'll let that go.
Speaker 1Okay, maybe you and I, But that's it, Laila Rhea.
Eat bikes, eat bikes and scooters Should they be allowed on sidewalks?
Speaker 3No?
Speaker 2No, no, they're dangerous people zip and by Sidewalks are for people, not for.
Speaker 3The control down here or where I live.
They're on the strand.
They're on sidewalks.
They're nuts.
Speaker 1We got babies, we're trying to walk.
We got people trying to walk.
It's crazy in the streets and on the strand.
And I think with all the bike lanes that they've built into, like on the street, shouldn't they just go in the bike lane?
Why should you be on the sidewalk.
Sidewalk are for people.
Bike lanes are for bikes, et bikes, scooters, that kind of stuff, and cars stay in your lane.
Speaker 3I'm going to tell you what I have seen so many people.
It happened to me today.
Speaker 2I went to pull in my garbage cans this guy and I like waited because the street is pretty busy.
I waited and this guy just staring down at his phone, texting the whole time, and like this close to the garbage can.
Speaker 1Yes, I'm like, people are out of control with the texting and driving.
I look around and look, I raise my hand.
Have we done it before?
Speaker 3Yeah?
Speaker 1But I'm like, no, it is so dangerous.
Just wait till you get to the stop light.
You could get hid, you could hit It's so dangerous.
And I'm like, you know that one that one second, like, oh, I have to respond to this thing right now.
No, you don't like, it's not worth it.
I don't know.
Speaker 2I just get like, so, I don't know, Like, just stop, it's not that important.
You can wait five seconds before you like ruin your life or ruin somebody else's life.
Speaker 1So that's my PSA on that next.
I loved it, Okay, angel angel I just butchered this mo so sorry, Angela Joe.
Maybe Angela Joe.
Sure, what's your pregame routine?
I like to do coffee and breakfast in the morning with my crew in the meeting room.
But if you do a video of it?
Game, what's and do a video of it?
And do a video of it?
Speaker 3What else?
With a baby mic?
What else?
Speaker 2I'm running late, but I wanted to show you my outfit.
If you're running late, get your ass out of the room and don't show me your outfit.
Speaker 1Go ahead, get drive like this is what's happened here?
What's happened?
Speaker 3Herbie?
So okay, my pre routine?
I liked it.
Speaker 1No, Oh, my head is just a spinning and I want to address it and we can't.
And there's so many things.
So it's taking a lot right now to keep my mouth shut and I'm going to so I like to do coffee and jammies as Kevin Burkhart and I call it.
In the meeting room, say good morning to everyone.
The boys in the truck have to leave a lot earlier than we do, so I like to go before they go.
Speaker 3And then yeah, get ready here.
Speaker 1And make up the whole deal.
I look over my notes, I organize my notes.
I always watch Carissa.
That's my favorite thing to do is turn it on.
I feel like it sets my day.
I am so freaked out if I can't get you.
I wasn't on in San Francisco, but I watched it on the app and the whole thing.
Speaker 3I can't do it.
I just love it.
Speaker 1And then I have to know what you guys are up to, and then we get ready to go.
We always play some fun tunes in the car.
We always usually laugh about the night before and the way we are so a lot of coffee though.
Speaker 2I love it when I get a FaceTime call from you and keV when you're in the car on the way to the state.
Speaker 3It's good.
That makes me happy.
My pregame Routinet.
Speaker 2It depends on if it's Sunday or Thursday, my Thursday routine because the games at night always starts with the production meeting in the morning.
Speaker 3Sometimes we have to who's that?
Do you want to shut your face?
I know you can't see she can't see you.
Is that my best friend, Jared?
Yeah, it's your best friend.
He just here dropped a coffee.
I was thinking, I'm coffee opens the coffee shop over there at six am.
So this is that's art.
That's very cute.
I love you.
How is the drop off?
It is?
Okay?
We just had in town.
Speaker 1Oh yes, I can't wait to hear about that big show.
Fantastic Jared.
Speaker 3So your pregame pregame depends on Thursday night.
Speaker 1Uh different, It starts with a production meeting in the morning before that, sometimes we have DraftKings hits.
I'll either try to get a work at him before usually after because there's like the middle of the afternoon, or walk around like the boys.
Speaker 2Sometimes I'll meet him for lunch, depends on what they're doing.
If we're in a new city that we haven't been in, we'll go and like do something random in the afternoon, like we're going back to New England this week and last time we were there.
We went to Harvard with fits and we all walked around and like saw the campus, so like fun little, you know, touristy stuff.
So it depends on what happens with that.
You go ahead, Ben, do you like doing a night game?
It's so different.
Speaker 1I only did nine games when we had Thursday Night Football, and sometimes it feels like, holy crap, we're sitting.
Speaker 3Around all day.
Speaker 1But then I like getting to this stadium when the lights are on and it just feels big time.
One o'clock games they're great, four twenty five, they're great, but there's a different feel with a night game.
But with the one o'clock or four, your day is done and then you get to go back home.
Speaker 3Night game.
It's like a whole day affair.
So what do you like?
Speaker 2It's a great question, and I haven't talked about this with the guys where you know, from their standpoint, like sure, hated it because yes, you're playing in primetime, but you're sitting around all day all day.
Speaker 3I love it.
Speaker 2I love it because it's like you're still like I have had a full day and then I'm like a pre I have enough time to get ready, you know, just like I don't know.
Speaker 1I just feel like I'm not yet rushed, so that part's good.
And then yeah, I love when like the lights go down, and then like in the stadium, like there's always like the fun line fireworks.
I don't know, I play games, So yeah, I thought that was so cool about Thursday night football.
I was like, oh my god, this isn't night.
Speaker 3This is awesome.
Speaker 2I appreciate it.
Sunshine Rose eleven, Who are the dudes in the suits on the sidelines real life?
Jerry McGuire, who are the dudes in this Sittner spent?
Speaker 1Like?
Our security is that we're talking about, But I don't know who are the dudes in the suits on the sidelines?
Speaker 3Ryan?
Speaker 1Do you know what this person's asking?
Speaker 3La la La.
Speaker 1Well, let's let's say that it is the security while we figure that out.
You have our security, they don't suits.
But like on for Thursday night, there's guys.
I think they're asking people on NFL sidelines who are dressed in suits?
Speaker 3Are they players?
Agents?
Speaker 1Oh?
Speaker 2They're asking Oh, definitely not the agents.
No, it could be pr guys.
It could be uh that Aaron Aaron has to talk to throughout the game.
Speaker 1You're in a nice suit, Corey rush dream Yep.
Those kinds of guys could be League people two depending on what.
Speaker 3The situation is.
Speaker 2But yeah, your guys that might be in suits are security.
Not always dressed in a suit, but alongside with you, say, with ours, we have security that takes us onto the field just to like, I mean that don't get you about me, but like protect like I mean if it's like Tom are in Seattle and shan or Tom or something like that.
Speaker 3Yeah, stuff like that.
Speaker 2So yeah, all people that are authorized to be there, but definitely not agents.
Agents are usually in a suite or not even sometimes they're at the game.
I mean, it just depends on the player and maybe what the situation is.
Speaker 3But yeah, yeah, no, our guys are in suites.
Speaker 1Yesterday we had an eighty degree game in Santa Clair, and I kept saying, a sweet, sweet Spence, who was standing with me, take off the jacket, You're gonna die, like, take the giet the jacket off like, and then on camera I put it back on.
It was roasty toasty on that jagee damn.
And then the sun was so close to setting and I was like holding out my binder the whole time because I was like, I spent so much money on my pigmentation on my hair, like color, this is ruining it.
And it was so hot, and then it finally went down.
Speaker 3It was like a whole new game.
It was gro Isn't that so fun?
Speaker 2Eighty degrees?
And then ours was in Denver.
It was it was like the first time I got my hand warmers out and it was cold, and I was.
Speaker 3Like, oh, I wisht I'm excited though it's gonna be cold.
Well, you're very sweet.
Speaker 1It is going to be cold at our game and this weekend no rain and no snow, but cold, which is perfect.
Like, what are your TEMs?
I'm looking it up right now.
Foxborough were like mid forties.
Yeah for post game, and I'm excited about that.
I love that jacket situation.
You looked so freaking gorgeous in Denver.
Speaker 3Very sweet.
Speaker 2It was situation where I spent some money on it, but it was on sale.
Speaker 3It was a Saint Lawrence.
Speaker 2Jacket that like lat two years ago, maybe like a you're it was on sale and it was one of those jackets where you're like, oh, should I.
Speaker 3Spend the money on this?
Speaker 2But you know, you know why I bought it because Rosie Rosie Huntington Whiteley Whitley, who I could never pronounce her last name.
She has that look and it was like, you know what, I'm just gonna make the investment.
You can dress it up, you can dress it down.
So anyway, it's thanksgeous, you look beautiful.
Thanks Gal.
Speaker 3It was Wendy.
Let me tell you what Wendy Williams next.
Speaker 1Okay, so this oh no, okay, before we get to the anonymous follow up, which seems kind of juicy, okay, h Smith Photo.
Unlimited chips in salta or warm roles?
Speaker 3Like this is a great question.
I limited chips.
Also.
Speaker 1The only roles I like though, are my cheesecake factory the brown but yeah, or if at a an Italian restaurant, the garlic rolls are also good.
Speaker 3But I got to go chips and salts.
Speaker 2I get so excited when they hit the table and I'm like, and then you eat too much of them and you can't goer the food because ships and walk.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1I got a real situation to talk about.
It's a Larry David is about a restaurant.
We went to Mikasa in the San Jose Airport and we were restaurant shamed and we're going to talk about it by la Ellen found us and everybody at my table looked at me and goes, is this gonna be on the podcast?
Speaker 3I'm like, damn sure it is.
Yeah, I can't wait.
Speaker 2Before we get to the big show, we are going to do an anonymous follow up, which we always appreciate.
So here's the original question.
We'll go back and forth.
I'll set this up.
Speaker 1You do our advice and okay, and with my husband for a total of seven years, we have had a lot of long distance, but we were finally home together and I'm starting to realize I've ignored red flags and I'm not happy in my marriage.
Speaker 3We've been there.
Speaker 1Any advice for a thirty year old girl who's scared to leave and start over?
Speaker 3Okay, So our advice was.
Speaker 1Write down the pros and cons, like Along Came Polly, or yeah is a long came Polly, write down a pros and CON's list about what works in your relationship and what doesn't.
Try your best to make it work if you can, but it's okay to move on.
Speaker 3Here's the follow up.
Speaker 2Ct I made the pros and cons list and After a lot of discussions with myself, friends, and even a fight that turned into a convo with my husband, we have decided to end our marriage.
He too has been unhappy, and we decided it's for the best.
Doesn't take away the hurt or feeling of loss, but best advice to move forward and not feel like a failure.
I wish I knew you and this wasn't anonymous, because I would invite you over right now.
I'd give you a big old hug and say this is the worst it's going to be, but around the next corner is the best it's ever going to be.
And it's okay to be conflicted with both emotions.
I will never forget that feeling where I knew I was doing and making the final decision to do it, and it was hard, and I was crying, and I remember my dad looking at me and I was like, but I know I have to do it because it's even though I wanted out other things so bad, it's still the idea that you don't want to fail.
There was, you know, still things of like am I not trying whatever?
But I think in this situation, if he also feels that way, then you have to remember that you'll never regret being honest, and he probably appreciates.
And I don't know, obviously all the specifics that you were the one to broach the subject, because when it's all said and done, you have one life.
And I stress this all the time, like why go through it and be miserable?
And I get the failure part.
Nobody wants to fail, but I.
Speaker 1Think you said that to me, you set me, I did, But I think the bigger failure is staying in something where you know it's not right, and he knows that it's not right.
So allow each other to be happy, like free yourself.
It's like, think about it.
You're on the back of your water skiing, let go of the rope, put up the red flat.
Someone will circle around.
Speaker 2And pick you back up, and it's okay, you like it's I guess in closing is give yourself an opportunity to write a new chapter for yourself, because the longer you stay, the more resentful you get.
And I totally commend you for walking away and being okay with failure.
Speaker 3Think about it.
Speaker 2In our world, there's failure all the time.
There's literally only been one perfect season.
Well the nineteen seventy two Dolphins and then the Patriots had a perfect season but didn't end up winning the Super Bowl.
In all the years of football, in all the years of it, perfection is not normal.
Speaker 3So you don't have to be sad that you failed.
You have to be sad if.
Speaker 2You stayed in something that didn't work and you just stayed because you didn't want to fail.
So good for you, gal, You're gonna be okay.
And if you want me to come over for wine, DM me and I come too.
Speaker 3Yes we will.
We will help you through it.
Speaker 2And it sounds like you've got a lot of good people and friends and family that will help you as well, and they're probably very happy for you that you faced a difficult decision but you made it with you know, not a knee jerk reaction.
Speaker 3You put a lot of thought into it.
So and celebrate yourself.
Speaker 1That's a really courageous step you made and decision you know, Yes, you came to so absolutely, And like Chris has said, I love that.
This is the hardest part right now.
It's going to get better.
Speaker 3It will, it will.
Speaker 1That was Chris's biggest thing is she didn't want to start over.
She didn't want to admit that it was it didn't work out.
I didn't want to go dat again.
Exactly how happy she is, and look how great it all is.
Look how happy I am.
I'm seriously, it's actually so true.
Speaker 2I went to a birthday party of the weekend and Steve wasn't with me, and everyone's.
Speaker 3Like, where Steve, Where Steve?
Where's Steve?
Where Steve?
And like everybody wants to be around Steve.
Speaker 1I've never in my life had to partner that everybody wants to be around.
And you know how good that feels to be in a relationship where it's like you're both just like proud to be with one another.
And I don't know what the situation was here, but I'm just happy that you've made that decision.
And also this is the start of something that's gonna be great, even if it's hard.
So we love it on you, We care about you, and you got this.
Let us know if you want us to come over.
Yes, we said three times we're gonna if you're in the California area, we're gonna knock on your door and we're just gonna invite ourselves over all right, joy us on the Big Show.
We've got to talk about Week ten of the football season, Aaron's Larry Davids and restaurant shaming.
Also, I was like Megan Trainer video that's crazy.
Speaker 3I didn't know it, but I was all right.
Comma knock on.
