Great.
Speaker 2Well, it's a very misunderstood industry and very protective of it.
I think there's a lot of slut shaming when it comes to our industry, and I think people just don't understand that it can be an intelligent decision to make for yourself.
Speaker 3Charlie Ford is talking about sex work while milling about a humble suburban apartment as she gets ready for a night out with hundreds of other porn stars at a party.
It's the beginning of a huge week, the most important season of the porn industry.
For the next seven days, Charlie, along with every other major adult film star from around the world, will rub up alongside each other in more ways than one at the annual Porn Expo in Las Vegas.
In the next room, fellow Ossie over Hawthorne, one of the country's most popular X rated cam girls, is putting the finishing touches on her outfit while Charlie books an.
Speaker 4Uber the I don't Know It's.
Speaker 5The Collidium.
Speaker 6Comes up.
Speaker 3At thirty five years old, Charlie has made a name for herself as a pawn powerhouse.
With her sweet and approachable blonde girl next door looks.
She has carved out a unique genre of adult entertainment that she describes as Australiana, and it has catapulted her from the dusty streets of Brisbane, Queensland, to the glitzy hills of Hollywood, where she's represented by the biggest pawn agent in the business, Mark Spiegler.
It wasn't the life she planned.
Speaker 2I was a veterinarian.
I was just graduating that school and I needed a way to pay my bills, and a friend suggested I try it, and I did, and I found out I was really good at it, and I loved it.
So I started and I started like shooting for companies and realized that there aren't many companies in Australia available for me to work for.
So I started my own company and so I operated that for years.
Speaker 3Amateur DIY platforms like OnlyFans hadn't yet disrupted the industry when Charlie first started doing porn about six years ago.
Instead, she's one of the few newer perform who made a name for herself in the traditional studio system, where big production companies like Brasses, Bangbros.
And Reality Kings hire performers to be in their movies that are noticeably more slick than the amateur content by creators like Bonnie Blue and Lily Phillips on platforms like OnlyFans.
Like most studio pros, Charlie now also publishes content on DIY sites, but she prefers the old school side of the beers in the industry.
Battle lines have formed between the two camps.
Speaker 2I love producing and directing, and I love cinematic porn specifically, and I don't see as much of that in content land.
Not that there's anything wrong with amateur content at all.
There's a market for both of them.
It's just that I personally love creating cinematic porn, so I decided to make that basically why not bucket Literally.
Speaker 3At the end of this week, Charlie, along with every other major performer, will be at the Oscars of Porn, where she's nominated in several categories Best double Penetration, sex Scene, Best Orgy Scene, and Milk Performer of the Year.
More importantly, this week is about networking with peers and meeting the fans who pay their bills at around the clock parties and events.
Suddenly, Charlie gets a message from the uber driver he's arriving.
She does a last minute sweep of the apartment, rallying Nova and their other.
Speaker 2Friends, spectacles, testicles, well and.
Speaker 3Watch everyone, I got it.
Charlie leads the group out of the apartment and they huddle into a lift that zooms down to the basement car park.
The elevator quickly clouds up with the sweet perfume the girls sprayed before leaving.
They do some last minute preening.
Speaker 5Our teeth white meanstrips on.
Speaker 3So just have a listen.
Charlie us her hot pink dress that wouldn't look out of place at a high school formal.
Speaker 2I bought it four months ago and it wasn't expensive.
And I mean, I don't know.
I'm a budget girie.
I'm not someone who spends a great deal of money or lives a lavish lifestyle.
So I like to save my money for work.
Speaker 3Really, that's interesting because so much of the coverage these days, particularly with the Only Fans models, is you know, people making millions of dollars a year and how they're getting on private jets and living in penthouses.
What's the reality of your life?
Speaker 2Well, they've studied Only Fans and the average person makes four hundred dollars a month.
So that's what I always tell people when they're thinking about doing only fans.
You can make really good money if you treat it like a business and you get the perfect team that if you don't know what you're doing.
That is the literal average that's been studied.
So yeah, it's a legitimate business.
Speaker 3It might even be less than that.
Only Fans made around seven point two billion dollars in twenty twenty four.
Creators took home about five point eight of that thanks to the platform's eighty twenty revenue split.
Sounds good, right, but spread across four point six million creators, the average income is about twelve hundred dollars a year, just over one hundred bucks a month.
But that's only part of the story.
The top one percent, roughly forty six thousand creators, reportedly pocket a third of all the cash, making upwards of forty grand every month.
The top ten percent also scoop up nearly three quarters of the earnings.
That leaves the remaining ninety percent more than four million creators to share.
What's left.
For many of them, the monthly reality is closer to fifty bucks.
So while a select few are living the private jet fantasy, the vast majority are getting little more than pocket change.
How much do you kind of like pinch a pennies and actually worry about your money in this industry?
Speaker 7For me, because I.
Speaker 2Run a company, I do a lot of that, and I think everyone should, even if they make a lot of money, you know, I think this industry only lasts for so long in your life unless you're wanting to work until you're seventy, which is also fine, but then you need to be able to have money to invest and take care of yourself long term and retire.
Speaker 3And like in the way that you do it with running your business and working in studios, for someone who wants to follow in your footsteps, is it lucrative.
Speaker 2I don't tend to talk to people about the lucrativeness because it's different for everyone.
I know people who have been nearly homeless and worked in this industry, and I know people who have done very well.
So I don't think anyone should ever come into the industry for the sake of money, because that's a terrible reason to end to the adult industry.
I think like it is a good career, It can be a good career, but I wouldn't bank on it.
Speaker 5Necessarily.
Speaker 4Yeah, take a.
Speaker 8Consortiss.
Speaker 3I've just walked in and I'm surrounded by dildo's and everyone's wearing PBC pants.
There's antibacterial wives.
Well, that's helpful.
It's the first day of the porn convention and streams of fans are weaving past the ching ching chinging slot machines inside this casino to view the sexy exhibits, check out the X rated stools, and meet their favorite porn stars.
In some beautiful symbolism, the porn expo happens right next door to a Dunkin Donuts, which means fans here can begin their day by picking up some Dunkin Donuts before going next door to dunk their donuts.
Strolling the hallway like it's a catwalk is Lexi Cox, a blonde bombshell in balenci AGAs sneakers and a white miniskirt.
Men trip over themselves at the side of her, and, almost in slow motion, turn their heads to gork.
If this was an episode of the Looney Tunes, their eyes would pop out of their heads.
Why Because Lexi's tiny pink t shirt is stretched tightly over her beach ball sized breasts.
I am a professional big boobs, haver and what size are your boots?
They're the second biggest boobs in the world.
Wow, they're ten thousands.
How heavy are they?
Forty pounds?
And why did you get them?
Speaker 5Because I love them?
Everybody loves Teddies.
Speaker 3Amid this pornographic flurry that's forming in the middle of the dead like a sexy mirage, one person is noticeably missing.
It's one twenty in the afternoon.
Bonnie Blue is meant to be here in about half an hour to meet and greet fans who are coming to get posters and memorabili assigned and to meet her.
But she's still Mia, the controversial porn star is at large.
I was meant to meet up with her this morning as she got ready to come to the convention.
I just received a text message from her publicist saying that she's still sick after the world record attempt where she slept with about one thousand guys in twelve hours, and they don't know whether she's going to be able to make it or even continue on the rest of the Porn Convention.
I mean, she's scheduled to be at a panel later today.
They've promised that she is actually in the city after she missed the private jet that she charted to get from La to Las Vegas.
And I guess the search continues to try and meet Bonnie Blue.
For someone who presents themselves as an open book, making a career out of grabbing headlines, ruffling feathers, and exposing all of themselves, it's a peculiar twist for the curtains to suddenly get drawn.
Bonnie's Instagram has gone dark and she is seemingly gone to ground.
While I wait, I roam the halls, perusing the butt plugs and gathering instructional pamphlets.
Many of the punters here are amateur creators themselves.
They're looking to network with their idols and get tips and tricks from industry titans in the hope they can catapult themselves to the next level.
I start thinking about what Ozzie porn star Charlie Ford told me about the financial reality for most performers who enter the industry these days.
They're not exactly chartering private jets and renting mansions like Bonnie.
Speaker 9I've been paid like two hundred bucks to send a guy a video of me just farting on camera.
Speaker 3That's Lana a stripper from Toronto, Canada, who started making online content about a year ago under the screen name Avalon saf Dressed in fishnet, lingerie and nipple pasties, she's wandering around the convention with a chain attached to a collar that's strapped around her neck.
Holding the leash is her boyfriend Ryan.
They met in high school and have been in a polyamorous relationship for three years.
They're both telling me about the demands Lana receives for bespoke X rated content.
Speaker 5Take a fart porn, tell me about it.
Speaker 10No smell, nothing, just the video of audible farting.
Just a video of like hearing someone fart.
Speaker 3Yeah, are you into it?
Ryan?
Speaker 5No?
No, no, no.
Those are for my pay pigs.
Speaker 3Those are your pay pigs, adequately named.
How much are you making a month through your online work?
Speaker 9Well, I have some people that are subscribed to my only fans, but then also pay me for private content.
Speaker 10Only fans by itself doesn't really pay that much because they take up a massive amount of your income.
Speaker 9Like, for example, one of my subs sent me one hundred dollars on OnlyFans and I only received eighty of it Because only fans takes like a good twenty percent of whatever income you have.
So from from like OnlyFans and dorming and stuff like that, I guess i'd make like around two hundred a month.
Speaker 3Two hundred a month, Yeah, I'm still new.
So how much did you make from your farting video?
Again?
Around two hundred and so only fans would have taken is that forty dollars?
Speaker 5Well I did that.
I sold that video privately.
Speaker 3Okay, so only fans did not profit off your farting video.
No good showing it to the man.
Right, you gotta take ownership of your farts, honestly.
Speaker 9Right, they're mine.
They're mine, and I know they're good.
It's kind of fucking hilarious.
We definitely have a big sense of humor in our relationship.
We're always cracking jokes, always making each other laugh.
So pretty much we'll find anything funny.
Speaker 10Yeah, Like sex is supposed to be playful, Yeah, right, Like if if you're not laughing through the whole time, like, what are you doing?
Speaker 5Yes?
I laughed twenty four to seventy.
Speaker 3Okay, people having sex online is nothing new.
Being exhibitionists and showing off and trying to make money has always existed, and some may say that is kind of the basis of the Internet.
In so many ways, that's why the Internet exists.
In the nineties, X rated memberships sites for popular and now that idea has evolved into subscription platforms.
Only Fans is certainly not the only pay per view platform available for people wanting to become porn stars.
There's other popular sites like Just for Fans, Loyal Fans, and fans Lee.
But much like Google has become a generic catch all term used to describe the act of looking up something on the Internet, or how Kleenex is the major brand name for tissues, the phrase only Fans has sort of become a sweeping way to describe any and all amateur sex content posted online.
Only Fans experienced unprecedented growth during twenty twenty three.
By twenty twenty four, the platform had four point six million creators and more than three hundred and seventy seven million registered users, an increase of twenty four percent on the previous year.
The idea of a membership model is so deeply ingrained in pornograph that it's almost.
Speaker 11Retro So I was teen, mom, and I didn't really know how to do anything, and I was trying to figure out how to make the most money and spend the least time working, and I bought this book called like Modeling for Dummies or something like that.
Speaker 3That's Liz River.
She's an attractive but not overtly sexy, forty three year old from Ohio.
Speaker 11It took me to a website called One Model Police, and the first people to offer me a job did a cast fetish shoot.
So this was like, you wear a real cast, but you're not where your leg is not really broken or whatever.
They were super cool and I really felt like they were my people and just kind of snowball from there.
Speaker 3Now, Liz works as a creator liaison for Loyal Fans, one of the major rivals of Only Fans.
She says she can relate to the fledgling new performers she helps advise and understands the common desire to make cash quick while working minimal hours.
Speaker 11Felt like I felt seen.
I felt like we're kind of sort of like the Island of misfits, like people who don't really fit in other places.
You know, we're not quite theater kids, we're not quite you know, executives, but we all kind of have those acumens.
Speaker 5You know.
Speaker 3So what has changed in recent years is the access and availability of porn with sites like OnlyFans.
It seems like we're living through a fornicating phenomenon with an influx of DIY amateur porn stars who are just as popular as Instagram influencers.
It's easier to watch than ever before and easier to participate in a way.
The pawn industry in twenty twenty five has become a wild West where anything goes.
Like the people sitting at slot machines inside this casino, many adult content creators are gambling in the hope of hitting the jackpod.
There's no guarantee they'll be rewarded for exposing themselves, just a hope that maybe with the right luck, they might score big time.
Marching through the expo with great determination is Brett Mussette, a twenty eight year old from Miami Beach, Florida.
With his blue velvet blazer and slipped back hair, he carries himself with the confidence of a real estate agent, strutting around an open house inspection.
There's a gold chain hanging around his neck with a thick pendant that spells out one word king.
He got into pawn around twenty seventeen.
What led him there the army.
Speaker 12When I joined the Army in twenty fourteen, a few of the other guys in my unit were in the adult and dreamer industry and kind of got me started.
Speaker 3Was it solo stuff that they were posting online?
Was it professional stuff?
Speaker 12A lot of it was meeting girls at bars, coming home, shooting videos and putting them up online, or they would go throughout the barracks.
And then a couple other guys were actually signed by an agency at the time, and that's how we got into mainstream content.
Speaker 3Brett followed their lead and started out doing professional studio porn, but he says it left him burnt out and stressed.
Speaker 12I felt like I no longer controlled the content I created.
It was kind of tailored for me.
I was told where to go, who I was shooting with.
You don't really get a choice anymore, I would say a lot of the stresses were the constant traveling, the last minute plans, having to cancel sometimes even holidays or plans with friends and family because my agency said I needed to be here at this time, And then you get done shooting for two or three days and you go straight to a different set with a whole new set of faces and different challenges.
Speaker 3The porn studio system is a lot like the mainstream film industry in Hollywood.
There's a director, a producer, a marketing team, and the performers will show up on set with only one job to do, have sex on camera.
Sometimes they also recite some cheesy dialogue from a script.
Those performers will then be paid a predetermined set rate.
Studio porn is often a lot less responsibility for performers, unlike independent online creators like Bonnie Blue, who have to organize cameras, hotel rooms and do all the production admin right down to checking the IDs and verifying the ages of their co stars.
But the trade off ownership and the ability to profit more.
A performer in a studio porno might only be paid a one off fee of two thousand dollars, and if they later decide they want that video deleted, well, bad luck for Brett, the ex Army veteran with the gold King necklace.
He left the studio system for only fans.
But it wasn't exactly easier.
It was an uphill battle, definitely.
Speaker 12The first six months were hard, being that I had to create my own following, because you can get people to subscribe for the first month, but it's all about that continued subscription, that continued following that you tend to receive.
So after six months, you kind of learn a process on how to retain your followers, what they're looking for, how to create new content that attracts.
Speaker 3Them, and what content seems to be resonating with your widest audience right now.
Speaker 12I found that actually couple swaps and sometimes like out of the ordinary things like roleplay, different roleplays, like in the street, you meet someone in the street, you take them to your hotel room, stuff like that.
Where it used to be more like the mainstream side commercial content was like that.
Now POV amateur content POV is probably one of the top searched things nowadays.
So rather than having a camera crew there or setting up cameras, you're holding the camera while you're making the content.
So with point of view contact, say that I'm holding the camera, then it might be a man that would subscribe to that type of content because it's all about imagination.
It's about a fantasy.
You're painting a fantasy for them, where now they see it from my point of view.
They get to watch the woman perform on me.
I think back to like my first or second month, when my payout was only like one hundred and thirty one hundred and sixty dollars, and I was posting it on every platform I had, reaching out to people, Hey, you've seen my mainstream content, why don't you come check out my more personalized stuff, get personalized messages.
It's more you kind of have to go out of your way, a lot more work for a lot less money.
Speaker 3This fear of a plateau is what drives many creators to push their boundaries and go to extremes.
Once viewers have seen you do something, once they get bored, you need to offer more.
That's the case for Dread's Way, a content creator who decided to start selling amateur pawn online about three years ago.
He says he barely made a profit for the first two years and sometimes only generated about five hundred dollars a month.
What was he posting online?
Speaker 6H boygirl, anal degrading stuff like.
Speaker 3That and so really putting like all yourself out there?
Speaker 6Yeah, because in this business, if you're marketing yourself like uh like cereal, are we just going to be in Target?
Are we going to be in Walmart?
Are we going to be in the corner stores.
It's just a constant grind, Just like with any business, you're constantly trying to figure out what's the next level?
Where do you need to improve?
Speaker 3The need to one up themselves seems to be what drives headline grabbing creators like Bonnie Blue and fellow Only Fans performer Lily Phillips with their side show of sex stunts.
The two Brits have been in the tabloids after going head to head with their respective gang bang challengers.
Their antics have caused a stir on social media.
Speaker 13Bonnie Blue and Lily Phillips.
Who are these two OnlyFans stars who have gained fame and notoriety and many many millions by completing what can only be described as pornographic challenges to sleep with as many men as they can in a certain timeframe.
We've had these two ladies turning up at university dormitories to try and take young boy's virginity.
We've had one of them turning up I believe, at a care home to sleep with older men.
And we've seen videos of men queuing up in masks to take part.
Speaker 3But this idea of viral stunce is not isolated to pawn.
It's something that's creeping into every industry thanks to social media.
You might see a dentist on TikTok eating the hottest chili in the world, or your local librarian performing a lip sync video to Benson Boone.
It's an attention economy that rewards those who seek it out.
So it's odd that after demanding our attention, Bonnie is now evading it.
Donnie's a wall.
She's meant to be here right now, doing a meet and greet with fans and signing posters and memorabilia, but she hasn't showed up, and her publicist is still a little bit cag on the details.
Other porn stars like Charlie Ford and Lily Phillips will soon be standing diligently at their designated booths, meeting endless lines of fans, mostly men who have come just to see them in the flesh, the women of their dreams, stepping out from the computer screen and standing close enough to touch.
The annual Porn Expo is really like any other week long conference that you might go to for your workplace.
There's stallholders.
Everyone's wearing lanyards.
There are tote bags.
It just so happens it In those tote bags you might have some promotional flashlights and dildos.
There are business owners spooking their brands with custom made weares porn stars with their their faces on mousepads and their names on pens, and they're handing them out to promote themselves to potential customers.
There are rows and rows of cam girls who are in bras and g strings, playing up to the cameras on their laptop computers where they're performing and flirting for guys on the internet who are tuning in to watch them.
It's like a really sexy call center.
One of these sexy call center girls is dressed like Velma from Scooby Doo, complete with orange turtleneck and page boy wig.
Suddenly, another camgirl with Jessica rabbit Curves waves me over.
Hello, it's Charlie Ford's mate an over Hawkthorne.
Speaker 14I'm streaming right now live on the Internet.
Speaker 5I've got a room of people watching me right now.
Speaker 3How many people do you have watching you right now?
Speaker 14There's currently fourteen people watching me, but who knows they might be more not logged in.
Speaker 3And they're from all around the world, everywhere.
Speaker 14It's started doing only fans when I was a dancer, when it started to be a thing.
I started that in like twenty eighteen, and then I thought, then what else is there?
What else can I try?
And camming was something I got into early on by accident.
I used to post on Reddit just for fun, just for fun and curiosity for freek.
Speaker 3What would you post on Reddit?
Speaker 14Nudes pictures of my body, pole dancing videos, pictures with girls naked kissing.
Speaker 3And then so then you realized you could monetize it.
Speaker 14Well, it wasn't until someone messaged me and offered me money for a video chat with them.
Speaker 3Do you remember how much money they offered in that first chat?
Speaker 14Well, they told me it's set a prize and I had no idea because I wasn't doing it yet, So I charged them fifty dollars.
They paid me in an Amazon gift card before Amazon was in Australia, so I bought a few random products from Amazon US and that was the proceeds of my first time with sex work.
Speaker 3How many hours a day would you work doing cam I.
Speaker 14Would probably stream six hours four days a week.
But if they're a contest or something and goal I'm really trying to achieve.
It's as much as one hundred and twenty hours a week.
Speaker 3Are you camming for six hours straight?
Speaker 14I take a little breaks, but like sometimes so.
Speaker 3Like over those six hours, what are you doing?
Speaker 5What am I doing?
What am I not doing?
Speaker 14So when I'm doing like a camethon, if I'm trying to do like eighteen hours straight, I do everything on cam.
I'm having a shower on cam, putting on my makeup.
It's not just like the sexy one on one things.
I might wash the dishes or vacuum the house.
I might do some yoga, exercise, whatever.
Speaker 3Chat where does the money part come from?
Speaker 14So they're tipping, they're tipping for for me to do different things.
Speaker 3Who's got the biggest tip?
Speaker 4Today?
Speaker 14We did three hundred tokens for a belly button play.
Speaker 3Belly button play a little.
Speaker 14Vibrator inside my belly button for a while.
Speaker 3How does it feel belly button play?
Speaker 5You know what?
Speaker 14The belly button feels kind of like weird when you're using.
Speaker 3A vibrator on the inside of it.
When you have like a deep belly button, does it need to be a vibrator specifically on the belly button.
Speaker 5Oh, I like use my fingers.
Speaker 14Put a little bit of spit in the belly.
Speaker 3Button as well, and you can figure your belly bumpet.
Speaker 5You can figure a lot of things.
Speaker 3Can we put a call out to the guys watching you stream right now?
Who's got the biggest tip?
Who's got the biggest tip?
Speaker 5I wonder here?
Speaker 3It's say it in a sexy cam girl voice.
Speaker 14Okay, hi everyone, what's doing me online?
Speaker 5Right now?
Speaker 14I would love to see who has got the biggest tip for me?
Make me see how much you want to see more.
Speaker 3Don't forget I've got.
Speaker 14My tip menu, so check that out.
And if you play your cards right, I might connect my lush so you can use my interactive vibrator to make my pussy vibrate.
Speaker 5I have a saying that I will.
Speaker 14I'll make them have the most confused wank because they'll be laughing while they're so horny.
Speaker 3And when you just did the call out, then I liked the sexy purri porn star boys.
Can you tell me about how you developed that voice?
Speaker 5Well, when you're.
Speaker 14Talking dirty, it's not about exactly what you're saying it's all in the deliver.
So if you slow things down and you get it real going like it's velvety.
Speaker 5I don't know, think about like how.
Speaker 14You whisper sweet nothings into someone's ear.
That's exactly what I like to do.
Speaker 3I want to be right there with them.
Can you make anything sound sexy when you use that voice?
Speaker 4Oh?
Speaker 5For sure.
Speaker 14Take me out into the garden because we're gonna get failthy.
We've got some shoveling to do and a whole fence to paint.
You want to come help me paint my front fence?
Speaker 3Can you say?
I need to go get my Nissan Patrol serviced, and then I need to go to the supermarket to pick up milk.
Yeah.
Speaker 14Look, it's going to be such a busy day for me.
Speaker 5There's so many things I need to do.
Speaker 14Firstly, I'm going to take my car go for a service, you know what I mean, Take that to get fixed up, get a bit of tune, and then you know what's next, We've got to hit the supermarket.
We've got so many things we need to do today.
Speaker 3Nova is in a relationship with a guy named James, who started out as her sugar daddy and in a quirky twist, she has now become his sugar mummy thanks to the success of her camming.
It's a job that has afforded her a comfortable life.
She says she's thrilled with them, and so is her grandma.
Speaker 14She has a book club that she's part of with other people her age.
Speaker 5She's in their seventies.
Speaker 14And she asked me if it was anything like fifty Shades of Gray because they just recently read that.
And I was shocked that she'd read that, and I had to explain to her.
I was like, no, it's nothing like booty Shades of Gray.
It's completely safe.
Footy Shays of Gray was not a good example of what sex work is like.
Speaker 3So she wasn't shocked by your work, but you were shocked that she had read fifty Shades of Mine.
Speaker 5I was so shocked that she had read that.
Speaker 14And when it came down to it, when when I explained to her and got tried to get you know, where she stands with it, she said, there's two things.
Are you safe and are you happy?
Speaker 3And I answered yes to both those and she was so was she impressed by the financial control and freedom that it allowed you.
Speaker 14I don't think she really realized until I started buying her really cool Christmas presents.
I sent my grandparents on a weekend away at a winery with you know spas.
Speaker 3Do you know all that?
Speaker 14And then she kind of realized that I'm doing Okay, let me move the camera over.
I have another James interviewing.
Speaker 5Me right now.
Speaker 3I'm now in shot of your of your cam experience of my cam.
That's you, and I've just ended up on someone's cam live stream?
How much did they tip me?
Out of nowhere?
A man who looks like he could be one of the bros on that TV show Entourage walks up to me and immediately gets down to business.
He can see me holding microphones and recording equipment, and somehow he already knows my name and what I'm here for.
Hey, mate, He's part of the team for Angela White, Australian adult film actress who has become one of the biggest porn stars on the planet.
With over one hundred and thirty award wins.
Angela is the most decorated female performer in adult entertainment history.
In twenty twenty four, she ranked as the single most searched porn star worldwide.
She's set to appear on the same panel discussion as Bonnie tonight.
This guy from Angela's team has heard I'm following a few porn stars at the convention for this podcast, and he almost seems annoyed.
I haven't requested time with Angela, but before landing in the US, I did try reaching out to her to organize an interview.
I was hoping for a chat with Angela and Bonnie together the old school studio performer alongside the DIY upstart.
Are you going to be around?
Did you want covered for BERK.
Speaker 15I know that you've reached out to people that you hadn't hit us up, and I was like, maybe, yag.
Speaker 3What I'd love is I'd love to document her and Bonnie on the panel tonight, and I also thought what would be called would be like a chat with her and Bonnie at the same time.
After the panel, He starts shaking his head before I can finish the question.
Speaker 16Well, they're very different people.
Speaker 12You know.
Speaker 15It is not a porn starts the creator, whereas you're talking about the loose.
Speaker 3Of board winning porn star ever.
But that's what I find interesting, That's what I want to tap into about just about the difference between like the classic porn stars and like the DIY creators.
I want to have like an interesting discussion about the differences and the nuances between the two.
But there's a problem with that.
And the problem is that when you're in an Angelou's position, because I'm not sure if you know just how big a deal she is, but there's things like this hierarchy.
So really, He then realizes he's talking directly into the microphones I'm holding and immediately shuts down the conversation.
Speaker 15Everything is my okay, cucutys.
Speaker 3Sorry, is this the theater?
Speaker 9No?
Speaker 3No, where's the theater?
The theater is You can just go literally around this corner.
Speaker 5We'll see you, say remox obvious friend.
Speaker 3Thanks mate, Just I'm pacing through the casino, trying to find the theater for tonight's panel discussion, the one with Angela White and Bonnie Blue, who I assume will be a no show.
She missed her meet and greet with fans, and her publicist, Emma has stopped replying to my calls and text messages.
Mana thank you out of nowhere.
As I pushed through the crowd, I hear a familiar voice and see a familiar blonde bob.
Speaker 5Where do I get to the fil Oh?
My god, Hi, fancy seeing you here.
Speaker 3It's Emma Gilman, the publicist for Bonnie Blue, and her once bedridden porn star boss is by her side.
Bonnie, Hi, Bonnie James Wick.
Do you want to taking one of the microphones off the podcast?
Speaker 9Go?
Speaker 4You are?
Speaker 3You're a hard lady to locate.
Speaker 7Yes, I come back.
Speaker 3How are you feeling?
Speaker 7I have I've just been full of flu, so yeah, it's not been super exciting.
Speaker 3And you meant to do the fan appearance this morning?
Speaker 4Right?
Speaker 3Yeah?
Yeah?
How did that go?
Speaker 4I didn't do it?
Speaker 3You didn't do it.
Speaker 7I haven't been well all week.
I've definitely still got like a bit of a car for my voice.
Isn't like completely back to normal, but no, I'm fine.
Speaker 3Yeah.
And what's going to be talked about on the panel tonight.
Speaker 7It's about like learning to dominate the market.
Speaker 3I want to talk to you about dominating the market because you've been on a bit of a meteoroic rise and you've kind of become like the Mick Jagger of Di White Pawn.
Right, Yeah, I mean I was with your entourage and your sister Summer on the private jet that you charted yesterday.
Speaker 7I did you enjoy it?
Speaker 5I did?
Speaker 3You didn't enjoy it?
But I feel like that's such a rock star move, and it's such a rock star life that you're living these days, Yeah, booking private jets that you don't end up catching.
Exactly as I chat to Bonnie, it takes a moment for my eyes to zoom out and capture the whole scene.
She's being tailed by a TV documentary crew from Channel four in the UK.
The cameraman begins filming the interaction, and a producer delicately hovers a microphone.
Bonnie's sister Summer and her ex husband slash manager Ollie stand back holding her bags, alongside Bonnie's videographer Joshua Spooner.
Emma lurks on the sidelines.
She almost seems miffed that I ran into them by latch on to Bonnie and we stroll into the theater.
I ask if she knows the other people she'll be appearing on stage with.
Speaker 7I'm not really close with other content creatus as such, so I don't know other content creators.
Speaker 3That's interesting to me.
Why don't I imagine sort of in this industry, like you know, some of them probably reach out to you wanting to collaborate.
Is that a choice not to sort of form relationships or connections with other creators?
Speaker 7A bit both, Like a lot of them are intimidated by me.
I'm making their content no longer relevant because before doing a typical boy girl content would sell.
I now beat world records and I sleep with random people to make relevant content, and it's sort of pushing theirs out the way, so they're threatened by me.
And also it's treated like high school a lot of the time, and I'm too big to entertain gossip and going oh my god, you know what she said or do you know what she's where?
I like, I'm really not bothered.
I'll always support creators that are nice, and unfortunately the industry isn't always filled with that.
Speaker 3Bonnie's words seem tinged with insecurity, as if she's defending herself by trash talking others.
I'm told by some old school players in the porn system that they have a gripe with new independent creators like Bonnie, because it seems she doesn't necessarily see herself as part of the larger industry, and she doesn't feel a responsibility to maintain expectations or unspoken rules.
Creators like Bonnie also don't seem to think there's anything they can learn from the performers who came before her in the casino theater.
I wait with Bonnie in a dark corner and ask where she thinks this resistance is coming from.
Speaker 7I think a lot of people here will look down on me for being successful on only funds because they don't classize pawn, or they think they're bigger than me just because they got paid one thousand pounds for a shoot.
I own over one thousand pounds an hour, so it's sort of they need to relo a prelookout.
I'm the one with the most views.
I'm the one that goes Rivan all the time.
Speaker 3Bonnie has waved up to the stage to get in place.
Sam Wilkinson, the Channel four cameraman, circles the room to get a good view.
He has been following Bonnie since the world record banged last week.
As whispers get louder in the industry about the stunt allegedly not being real and questions being asked about when the tapes will be released.
Sam says he witnessed and filmed the event firsthand.
Speaker 1She took on We took a thousand men in a strange house in London.
We were in the room when when the challenge was being performed, and did it shot me?
I guess it kind of did it at moments when you see a whole queue of men queuing up outside the door with their hands and their pants trying to get hard or maintain being hard, that that was probably the oddest thing.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's just another normal day at.
Speaker 1The office really, apart from seeing loads of guys with marks on as well, so it was an odd image.
Speaker 3Well, okay, the panels about to start.
Angela White, with her dead straight, raven hair and conservative black ensemble, enters the small theater and takes a seat center stage, right next to Bonnie, the naughty blonde Pixie.
The two ladies couldn't be more different.
It almost feels like we should be picking a side to root for.
I'm told by an executive in the industry who wants to remain anonymous, that this look of Angela's is intentional to challenge the stereotype of a porn star.
They also tell me Angela will probably not say much on the panel tonight as she sits with the lesser known DIY creators, and that her silence will speak volumes.
Speaker 17If you haven't heard the name Bonnie Blue, you probably haven't been online lately.
Her record breaking sex parent bonds have shaken up preconceived notions of sexual morality and pushed the boundaries of human sexual capability.
As one of the most respected and recognized things in the adult entertainment industry, Angeloyd's career is a testament to both hard work and integrity.
Speaker 3So excited to be chatting with Yon today.
I sit through the panel and listened to polite answers to polite questions.
No, Bonnie, Angela and the other ladies don't talk smack to each other's faces.
After all, this is PAWN, not the WWE.
But there is a distinct lack of acknowledgment.
Ollie was watching from the audience.
He thinks Bonnie is unhappy with her appearance on stage.
Speaker 8I think think she did really, really well.
I think she has really high standards.
Speaker 18I think she just wished that she would have said something that I don't know, like embellished a bit more on some of her points.
Speaker 8She always is really well, but she she always comes out not that happy with something.
Speaker 3How is she feeling going into this?
Speaker 18She was nervous in general, but she's also quietly confident because she within a year has become the top three biggest creatitis only fans and John.
Most the people in here that think that they own the place, they they're not a patch on Bonnie.
Speaker 3After the panel, Bonnie decides to take an impromptu stroll around the convention, followed by her entourage and TV documentary crew.
She's accosted by an old man.
Her videographer Josh describes the bloke in precise detail, so give you a description of what he's like for the listeners.
Speaker 16He's around one hundred and twenty years old and hardly walking, but he's a big fan of a lot of young girls.
Speaker 3Then another guy approaches, this time he's younger, in his thirties, and he's armed with trading cards featuring pictures of Bonnie's face.
He made them on his computer and had them professionally printed.
Speaker 16How all he's one's for you man, I mean I do best like they're like some people like Pokemon, carlds and stuff like oh thank you.
Speaker 3His name is Tino Capo Bianco.
He hands Bonnie a pen and gets her to scribble her signature on the cards.
Speaker 7Why do you want me to.
Speaker 3Sign just anywhere on the card?
Speaker 16Yeah, if you don't mind signing off whatever, You're comfortable.
Speaker 4If I have a bunch of them.
Speaker 3Can you tell me about your fandom of Bunny No.
Speaker 16I just think she's she's really taking the game strong.
She's she's huge on OnlyFans and know the next big thing.
Speaker 3The next big thing.
I can't help but feel like Bonnie is biting her tongue at this statement.
In her mind, She's not the next big thing, She's already the big thing.
What are you gonna do with these these Bunny Pokemon cards?
Speaker 16So I keep a lot of them and I'll trade some with other people.
I like baseball cards as a kid.
Now I'm a three fire role now like cards of beautiful man.
Speaker 3That's all.
Speaker 5And I made them of her.
Speaker 3It's just something cool.
Speaker 16The card market got big during COVID, so I think just cards are cool.
Speaker 3What other points does do you make?
Trading cards off?
Speaker 2So far?
Speaker 16I did a balladingger Keey Gunner and Lily Phillips.
Speaker 3How much did they sell?
For I'm gonna haul them for up.
So I think she's just gonna get bigger.
It's like bickhoy.
As Bonnie continues to be swarmed by fans, her little sister, Summer, dressed in a gray Zara hoodie, peels a mandarin and stares at an arcade claw machine filled with sex toys.
A skinny young boy with a broccoli haircut and Justin Bieber Swagger bounds up to Bonnie and starts propositioning her to film content with him.
His online name is Ze light Skin and at twenty four, the Baltimore Local has only recently started filming DIY content.
Speaker 5Now, I like just started kind of blowing up.
Speaker 3You're blowing up?
What kind of content?
Speaker 19Boy?
Speaker 4Like boy girl boy boy.
Speaker 3Boy on boy.
It's a lot like I do a lot of it.
Yeah, And what kind of content would you want to do?
Like one of Bonnie's gang bangs that she's.
Speaker 6Done, Yeah, that would be called yeah a boy boy girl or her that will go crazy, Just something like that will go viral that.
Speaker 5She will late.
Speaker 3Nearby, another famous face appears in the crowd.
We think we've seen young Gravy from across the road.
The American rapper, Hey, Young Gravy.
Yeah, my name is James were I'm a journalist from Australia from news dot com Todau.
Are you getting mobbed while you're here?
Speaker 15Yeah?
Speaker 3I forgot how hoodie I was leading for my flight.
Speaker 5I forgot to hordy.
Speaker 3But it's okay.
Speaker 5I usually can wear a hood.
Speaker 3And all, and it makes a little bit easier to walk around.
What do you like seeing while you're here?
Speaker 20The horny as do is Brushia.
It's fucking funny and interesting and I like to see just how freaky people get.
I just like played a video game with like a vibrator.
It was I don't know, man, people are wild.
It's a very interesting world.
Speaker 3What kind of people do you see here?
Describing?
Speaker 9For me?
Speaker 3They're not like like I play.
Speaker 20People would assume that the people that are here might be like, you know, basement dwellers that like Drenklin new and eat Cheetos, But they're not.
Like there's a lot of like just like wholesome motherfuckers here.
They probably get pussy themselves, but they're they're just here, you know, they're like supporting will.
Speaker 3Young Gravy spills his observations about horny dudes and cheetos.
Bonnie has been cornered by another fan, this time a young woman.
Speaker 19I was expressing my love for her, my love for her work.
She is everywhere right now and she blew up so quickly too.
It's so cool to see and just the authenticity of dealing with you love.
Because everybody wants to be a gangbang girl.
You know, everybody loves it, believe it or not.
If any girl had the chance to do a thousand man gangbang, they do it one time in their life.
Speaker 3I can't help but wonder is this the effect of Bonnie and her fellow cohort of sexfluences.
Speaker 19My name is Mattie Collins and I am a Bonnie Blue fan.
Speaker 3At twenty six.
Maddie's also navigating the world of porn.
She's inside it every day and she hears what people are saying.
Speaker 19When you see somebody just come out of no pun intending, come out of the blue and really kill it like that, I think that there's a little bit of like, ah, I wish I could do that.
That it kind of rubs people a little bit of an in a jealous way.
And sure some people might want not want to put in the work as much as Bonnie does, because she does put in the work.
But I think anybody wishes that they could have done it themselves before doing it for a studio, And I think that's more of what the studio side of things.
They're like, Oh, these OnlyFans girls, and blah blah blah, and.
Speaker 5It doesn't need to be like that.
Speaker 3But only fans doesn't just come with fans, It also comes with enemies.
Later that night, in a bar filled with porn stars wearing unbuttoned shirts and bodycon dresses, there's only one topic of conversation Bonnie.
One industry player talks anonymously.
The true story about this business is the faster you go up, the faster you go down, and then it just bottoms out.
Shuting next time on sex lies and streaming.
Beneath the glitz and glamour of Vegas, whispers are growing loud about who really belongs here.
As Bonnie's dreams of being a bona fide porn star begin to crumble, she vanishes again, with her team calling an emergency meeting and amid a terrifying security breach with a stalker.
Speaker 7It was actually quite heartbreaking because you could hear on the other end of the line that he was coming to the realization that everything that he thought to be true was a lie.
Speaker 3I sit down with porn icon Angela White, fresh from her awkward panel appearance with Bonnie, having seen the tension between the two performers.
Is there something I'm not being told?
I head to her private villa to get answers.
That's next time on sex Lies and Streaming.
