Speaker 1That dialogue voices?
Was that whose voice that he just do?
Good?
Speaker 4Pcuffey in the big time?
Speaker 5Oh oh, we're making progress, Randy Savage progress.
Speaker 3Yes, I was trying to remember what the first name was, Randy, Randy.
Yeah, as long as I got macho showed me dy s.
Speaker 4QB come in.
Speaker 3I told Josh this off the air, but the a tweak right from the moment that we've had that conversation, and I was like, I don't know who that is.
I've seen him everywhere good.
I even went to a gas station and there was like, I don't not well, yeah, but they're not a sponsored so but there was a meat stick, a meat stick h like display and it was just him with all of it was a display of what of of the the beef sticks that you eat for a snack while ago, I can't.
Randy Randy Macho Man Savage was on that disc.
Speaker 5He's always just yeah, I just did what we were saying, like he's always been everywhere.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Now now I've seen it, I'm like a proud was that stop, dude?
Speaker 5I just I just want to recap.
It's a lot going on here.
Speaker 3Just to give sponsorship money away, That's all I'm trying to do.
But the I feel like a proud father trying to get into like the interests of those around you, you know, like, oh, like are you winning kids?
Speaker 5Like yeah, but who's who was your Who's a wrestler growing up?
When you're growing up, who's the.
Speaker 3Main I mean like the Rock and Johnson you know, were like the two guys that I know.
Speaker 4Yeah, of different eras too, so you were sort of like a little.
Speaker 1Bit in between tween.
Speaker 3I mean I also like didn't pay attention to wrestling at all.
Yeah, yeah, that's it was not I was collecting baseball cards and NASCAR race cars and that.
Speaker 4But I said it before and I'll say it again.
Kyle will be an excellent color commentator for He would be like for for pro wrestling, and he would be a good heel commentator.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, yeah, you you can like like you stir the pot.
Yeah, I would love to get damn out of here.
Speaker 1Let's do it.
Listen, listen in a little tape.
Speaker 3Huh yeah, you want to do like a mock tape.
We'll go go find like a random I.
Speaker 4Think Isaiah knows a guy.
Speaker 5I know, I know some guy always knows a guy.
Hey, Beemer, who was your favorite wrestler?
Catch him off guard?
Speaker 3The chat is blowing up about the meat stick.
Speaker 1Should think it's very I said nothing.
Speaker 4If he wants to say it sponsored Dallas Cowboy.
Speaker 5Yeah, sorry, until then you get the beef stick Kyle's favorite snack.
Speaker 3Can we, for the love of God get in the news?
Speaker 4And Patrick talking cowboys starts to nine oh four, Baby.
Speaker 1We can't you see?
Then you get oh, we are so back.
You can't give us a Tuesday off now.
Speaker 5So first and foremos news and notes, since this is not much reporting from the injury front, so we'll just lead with that and we'll then we'll get to the to the dramas.
It's a good thing yet because one of the people that you're concerned about is Quinn Williams.
So Quinn Williams and Hunter lip Key both are in concussion protocol.
I know it should clap stopped.
Okay, they are both in concussion protocol.
Suffered a concussion and the loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Brian Schottenheimer when asked about it the next day, he confirmed that they were still in protocol.
We don't know as of yet if they will practice this week or today today being Wednesday, the first day for practice to prep for the Los Angeles Chargers.
There's obviously a chance that neither take the field.
The biggest of the two hits, if they can't take the field, will be obviously Quentinn Williams.
So we'll see, just like Ceede Lamb last week, because your protocol is its own thing, so you know, optimism, We just we don't know yet.
We don't know yet, so we'll see.
So that's really on the injury front, those are the only two guys that really came out.
So john S Williams, he was dealing with the shoulder injury, but there was subscribed as a stinger, and that's why it took a while for him to get back into the game.
They were waiting for it to kind of calm down, so to speak, and eventually it did.
Speaker 1He went back out there and was.
Speaker 3A case by case basis.
Speaker 5Stay yeah, but he went back up and he played very well.
I don't anticipate it's probably something if he has some residual effects from it, it might impact him practice wise this week.
I don't see it keeping him out of the game on Sunday, but something to.
Speaker 1Keep an eye on.
Speaker 5But those are the top three guys that you're looking at from an injury front.
Speaker 4I mean talking about Randy Macha Man then got to lead into the stinger of course.
Speaker 3Oh I also forgot did you get that reference there?
Goodness, I was trying to move on to oh, and we got about that.
Speaker 5I see if popped up head.
We'll see if Tyler Guyton makes any progress this week.
You know they're they're speaking optimistically about that.
I will say that I spoke with Tyler Guyton, and I've been speaking with him.
Speaker 1Throughout the eye, throughout.
Speaker 5This process, and as it's been described to me, he has he's just he's working through it.
He'll have a couple of good days and then he'll have a day where it's just really flaring up on him.
The ankle Spram speaking of so we'll see if he makes any progress this week and he can get back on the field.
To that point, we'll see if Nate Thomas can get back on the field.
Nate Thomas left the game with injury as well.
So today's injury report, you have Quentin Williams as the headliner, Tyler Guyton.
Speaker 1We'll see if he can make progress.
Speaker 5And then you got a hundred lipkin concussion protocol and we'll see if Vonte Williams does much in practice at all.
Speaker 1I rescind clap.
I told you to hold off on that once you've got it.
Speaker 5No, I recent to dessert.
I don't like that.
I don't's not that easy to get rid of it.
I don't like that report.
I don't want to taint it.
So yeah, speaking of injuries, Trayvon.
Speaker 3Diggs, hmmm, so let's talk about it.
Speaker 1Let's talk about it, man.
Speaker 5I was I was Beamer had the sounder and we could use it for Like the Young and the Restless theme song, because oh yeah, this is just a soap opera.
Man like Young and a Restless Guy and light Bolting the Beautiful.
Speaker 1It's all of that.
Speaker 6Man.
Speaker 3The first thing I was surprised about post game because of course we're doing our pregame or our postgame coverage outside of the locker room as the locker room interviews were going on.
So I had no idea who was speaking, and I never do who is speaking in the locker room because that's what the rest of the media team is doing while we're on TV.
I got home, sat down, rewatched the game, and as I was rewatching the game, I was looking up like sound bites and quotes and whatever.
Trayvon Digs popped up.
He spoke after the game, Yes, which is wild for a guy coming off of IR that of course has been ridiculed and criticized for not being available.
He was available to the media, which I thought was after a loss, after a loss, which was weird.
So that's that's one of the elements of the soap opera that I just found, like a little.
Speaker 5Pretty quick recap of the past of the past week, past two weeks, let's just say past two weeks.
So Trevon Diggs began his practice window on November thirtieth, just ahead of the Thursday night game against the Detroit Lions.
He did not play, even though all sciences were that he would.
It was said after the game that it was a game time decision.
Okay, if it was a game time decision against Detroit, should have been better odds to take the thing against the Minnesota Do Daesolta Vikings right or what injury?
Speaker 6Again?
Speaker 5The knee allegedly, so going into the game against the Minnesota Vikings, we the media spoke with Trevalon Diggs was ahead and then well, first it was the concussion, and then it was then it became the knee and then the shoulder bones connected to the ankle bone.
Speaker 1Just just trying to follow them.
Yeah, yeah, stop because just stop falling.
Speaker 5You know, it's because he want to I R for the concussion.
No, no, you want to I R for the knee.
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, So Trevon did, said Treyvon Diggs said last week and I quote, I'm ready.
And then he was asked, is there a reason that he has hadn't at that time yet been activated to the fifty three man roster.
His response was, you got soldiers, You got to ask them.
So then we told him, we said we we did ask them.
He said, well, what they say and we told him that they said, we'll see and now we're asking you and he said, well, okay, And then he was asked the question by does he want to remain in Dallas and he said absolutely, I love it here in Dallas.
Speaker 1You know, so forth and so on.
Speaker 5Now, fast forward to Sunday's game, and he's made an active a little bit of a shock there.
Speaker 1Okay, Fast forward to the end of that game.
Speaker 5Now you have Jerry Jones, owner general manager of the Dallas Cowboys saying saying, and I quote, he isn't healthy enough.
Speaker 1A little bit of a discrepancy there.
Speaker 5Between the player saying that he's good, player saying he's good.
Speaker 3Multiple times, doubled down on it.
Speaker 1Yeah, triple even about what I will say.
Speaker 5Also, what makes this even more strange is Schottenheimer going into the Lion's game, Going into the Vikings game, he never wants specified health was an issue.
He said words like consistency was needed.
He said that, you know, he needed to see certain things standard wise throughout the totality of practice.
But he never said health okay, which led us all to believe, rightfully so that Trayvon Diggs is right in saying that he's ready and he's healthy.
But maybe it was a culture thing, and Shoddy was saying, we need to see this and this and this from you.
Speaker 1Okay, So I say that.
Speaker 5To add color to the commentary of Jerry Jones blatantly saying he isn't healthy enough.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 5That happened almost simultaneously with Trayvon Diggs in the locker room saying the following.
From the first conversation that we he and Brian Schottenheimer had, it was it was about practice.
I guess I wasn't showing them what they wanted to see in practice.
This week, I showed them what they wanted to see in practice, and it's still the same result.
I don't know what else I need to do or what to show.
At this point, I feel like it's not even up to me or what I do.
It's really up to them and what they want to do.
I'm just showing up every day and going to work.
Speaker 3Hmm.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 3Somebody's not happy with somebody.
Speaker 5Somebody's not happy with somebody, and that's where we are.
Speaker 3We're hearing two sides of the same story, but they're sounding wildly different.
Speaker 4But they're different currencies.
Speaker 3The same coin in different languages.
It's been Yeah, it's just been a complete disconnect from what it had been previously, which is not un like that's not new news.
We've kind of talked about this over the last few weeks.
This relationship has not been perfect since the os Is Isaiah went into it a little bit a couple days back.
So where do we go from here?
It's it's up to this weekend.
Speaker 5Right, they have to activate him to IR before some or he's done or he's done.
Speaker 4For the for the t minus four days until the conclusion of this story most likely.
Speaker 1Maybe let's go around the table.
Speaker 6Huh.
Speaker 1How many people think that he's going to be playing No?
Speaker 5Yeah, yeah, this is a slow breakup.
Yeah, I'll spa spain.
I told you guys, when when Micah got traded, what did I say?
Speaker 1I said, who was put on notice?
You said Diggs?
I said Diggs was put on notice?
Speaker 5Yeah, right, that was a he and others and others, right, but specifically Dix, who was real tight.
He was the background dancer to Michael Parsons.
Call it what it is, right, you saw Micah, you saw you saw Trayvon Diggs in the background of every interview.
He was his hype man.
It's Tito, right, I mean what it is.
I mean, he's his own person, right, but he was he was a he was a he was a voice in the background.
He was noise in the background of the whole Mica situation that was coupled on.
Speaker 1That was on top of.
Speaker 4All they were taking like interviews together.
Speaker 5Yes, he was sig signing signing signs at at training camp of people saying that pay Micah, Like, it was a lot.
Speaker 1It was a lot of extra going on.
Speaker 5There are other things that we saw at training camp in regards to Trayvon's.
Speaker 1Lack of attentiveness.
Speaker 5As well, I'll put it that way, that were very concerning, very concerning to me.
Speaker 4And you missed all the off season workout, decided to do his own thing.
It was fine for that.
Speaker 3It was as mad at getting fined for that.
Speaker 4Got mad at getting fined for that, and I could it was very black and white in his contract.
Speaker 3Like and we said that on the show.
It's like, why are you getting mad It's in the contract.
Speaker 5There was one thing that I saw at training camp that I told Kyle, I said, he needs personally not okay, not okay, shouldn't probably shouldn't be a part of what's going on this season from the one thing, the one thing that I saw, I I not speculating, not that I saw in regards to the disregard of commitment to your to your team, to your organization, to your teammates.
The disconnect was there at training camp.
It's about third week.
Speaker 3Of training camp, maybe somewhere unre was a second second week.
Speaker 5Yes, I was like, yeah, they might want to they might want to look at other options.
Nothing against his plane, all about whether or not he fits his culture.
And at that time I had I had great concerns and it it's only gotten worse.
It's only gotten worse.
And now you're in a position, you guys are the salary cap masters.
You're in a position whereas like, it only makes sense now after June first, right, financially, after June first, financially, Now that's the best time if you're going to sever this relationship, because I think they're only out well I say only, I think they're out eight million this year, somewhere around there, eight something this year.
Speaker 3I'm getting there.
Speaker 5I mean his base is eighty five cap this year.
You say this year mean twenty five or yes, twenty.
Speaker 3Five, it's twelve mili yeah, so long point.
Speaker 5But next year eight and a half is the guarante.
Here, eight and a half is a guarantee.
Right, So when they made the commitment to him this year, right and decided to keep him on the roster for the season, that's what they were committing to.
Nothing guaranteed next year, next year, nothing guarantee guaranteed, right, and post June first, I think I think you save like additional five or six million dollars on your cap.
Speaker 1I'm spitballing sometimes like six million.
Speaker 3Because if you cut him pre June one, which would be any time between now and then seventeen point three.
Speaker 1You eat you eat that.
Speaker 3So for those that got him, if you cut him post it's eleven points exactly.
Speaker 5So for those at home trying to figure out what the heck is going on, like this is a slow breakup?
This is this is This is Isaiah standback telling you guys that I perceive this to be a slow breakup.
I can't say what it is.
I just know that I've seen this this story play out.
Speaker 1But I agree with you.
Speaker 4But I would argue that in most scenarios, when you have a player like that where you've committed that much too, and you don't necessarily see the future in that player.
Speaker 1You want to.
Speaker 4See them contribute during the season.
And granted, he got into a situation where he had to go on IR in the middle of the season, but before that it wasn't looking great.
And then now he's coming off of IR and he's healthy, and you're basically saying, like, is it worth paying him the extra games it would be to activate him for the rest of the season or just call it a day.
Speaker 3I think that's crucial element to all of this, because if Trayvon Diggs was playing like All Pro Pro Bowl Trayvon Diggs, I think you deal with the attitude a little bit.
You deal with the drama or whatever it ends up being, whatever their problem is, you deal with them.
Speaker 1I'm not sure if this team would.
I'm not sure I understand what you guys are saying.
Speaker 3To a certain extent, I think they would, especially in a spot where they are at the cornerback position.
Name one other guy.
We just went through the list of the corners the other day and said, who's playing well, and nobody is playing well.
Speaker 5I don't disagree with you, I'm just saying I think that this regime is a little bit different.
Speaker 3They're trying to set a precedent, and and it's been set already.
I think if his play was fine, this would not be as big.
Speaker 5A would the would definitely be more room more exactly more of the.
Speaker 3Will but playing in order for them to say you can keep him not playing, in order for them to say, over the final three games of the season, oh, let's throw him back out there, because we know he's going to play well and it's worth putting him back out there.
And and you've already heard from the front office and the coaches after themselves, they feel like the guys they have out there are just as good and just as prepared as what he would be getting back out there.
So there's more of a risk than there is a reward to put him back in the fold, because one way or the other, you're probably done with him at the end of the year.
Speaker 5Anyway, I just want to throw something out there because I know if fans are probably proposing questions right now, everybody is right, but scenario people are probably thinking, well, why don't you play him?
And if you are going to part ways with him, at least you can build up some equity and and some value.
Speaker 1There so that you can trade them if he gets hurt.
Exactly.
Speaker 5So if he gets hurt, now you have to pay him out for the amount of time that is going to take him to get healthy.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's the risk verse.
Speaker 3Which we've seen already.
There's a long line of injuries.
They heard one and.
Speaker 5I saw someone ask what the Cowboys consider trading him?
And during the draft that's when you possibly, if you're going to do it, that's when you do it because teams are most desperate to try to figure some things out.
And if they do it, if they make a trade pre June first, they only eat five a little bit under six million in dead money, but they save overall twelve and a half mine.
Speaker 4If you're any other team in the league, though, what are you offering for Trayvon Diggs today?
Speaker 1To me, that's why you don't make the trade until till the draft.
Speaker 4I'm talking draft.
Speaker 3You might get a six or seventh out of them in the draft.
Maybe that's it at that point, I mean, that's all you're gonna get.
Yeah, right now, I don't think any of the thirty one teams would want because they anticipate a cut.
Speaker 1Yes, exactly.
Speaker 3The only reason a team would trade for them in a spot like the draft, it would be because they don't want to wait and see if there's a team another one of the other thirty one teams that's going to saw.
Speaker 5They're a couple of teams who shall not be mentioned here because I'm not going to do reverse tampering either.
But there are a couple of teams.
Let's just say they're up north and their rivals of each other, and one will have a play standing on the table for him.
The other will have a coach standing on the table form I'll.
Speaker 1Put it that way.
Yeah, and really quickly before we and why would.
Speaker 3You talk about the Minnesota Vikings.
Speaker 1Really quickly?
All jokes.
Speaker 5Asad Melvin, I saw earlier in the chat you said that your grandkids got into a car accident this mouse, so he did say that I was monitoring.
He said that everyone's okay, but prayers out to there is good news that everyone's okay.
Please update us in the family as soon as you get more information on that.
So just prayers to Melvin and his family.
Glad the grandkids are good family.
Speaker 3We appreciate you and we appreciate you listening.
Melvin even getting in the chat at that point is it's wild all right, Let's get into QB vision when we come back on the other side of the break, more talking cowboys right after this.

I give you how they're going to try to attack you.
Speaker 1This is.
Speaker 5The best unit you've faced all year defensively.
Speaker 3Hold on.
Speaker 5Not talent unit they played in Philly.
Philly has more talent.
Philly has more talent.
This team plays like a unit.
There's a difference.
I've never doubled up on a statement.
This team Philadelphia is wildly talented on that side of the ball, just extremely talented.
Speaker 1Crazy.
Speaker 5Okay, the Broncos are up there too, Broncos are definitely up there.
I've been that those guys are crazy.
This team plays as one.
They play as a one solid discipline defensive unit.
If you were freaking moving pieces on a whiteboard and a little magnet whiteboard, this is how you would move those pieces as one that was describing a defense to somebody else.
That's how they That's how they operate.
Everybody's where they're supposed to be.
Everybody's doing what they're supposed to do.
Nobody's trying to be a superhero.
They trust the scheme, and they will hit you in your mouth, in your whole mouth, even if you got in visil lines.
They gonna hit you in your mouth.
Listen, Yeah, they gonna take your corner.
This is a team.
I'll go to my little note sheet here don't typically do that.
Let Kyle usually hit on that.
But this is their NFL rankings.
Please, Fourth in the league in terms of the lowest completion percentage allowed, third in the league in yards allowed passing per game, first in the league in touchdown to interception ratio.
They've allowed twelve touchdowns passing.
They've had seventeen interceptions.
Oh, what week is this?
Sixteen sixteen, and they've allowed twelve passing touchdowns.
Speaker 1Oh that seems pretty good.
Speaker 5Yes, opposing passer rating first in the league average of seventy one.
And then just to throw a little, some little little extra mustard on top of it, all right, Kendrick, they are fifth in the league in sacks averaging, averaging three sacks per game averaging.
Speaker 1May add to your stat Yes, you may.
Speaker 4Number four in the NFL in sack percentage, Number two in the league in interception percentage, number two in offensive yards per game, yards per game.
Speaker 1I don't like those words.
Man.
Speaker 5That's a really good defense.
This defense is solid, you guys.
I know people want to hear about.
Okay, who are their primetime players?
Okay, Well, there's a dude on their defensive line that you just may No, he's been around the league since like nineteen seventy.
Speaker 4Kal El mac kal El, how you pronounce the name?
Speaker 3Khalil, Khalil, Khalil, Khalila, khalil oh, khalil.
Speaker 5Oh Return of the Mac.
Yeah, yes, Khalil Mack.
He's still a He's still a dude, like dude dog capitol d U d e cap dude.
He's still still a Decepticon.
Number fifty two listed as a right outside linebacker.
He's been around forever.
He's been around forever.
He's still he's still as productive as possible.
Uh, there's the reason why they allow Bosa to leave.
They said, Bosa, you want to go to the Buffalo?
All right, Cool, we still got Return of the Mac.
Speaker 6Oh.
Speaker 5Yeah, so Max still a dude at that level.
Okay, let's go to the next level.
Are there any dudes at the secondary at the second level linebackers?
You guys want to throw some names out?
I mean I can talk about her, you guys, Okay, keep using you got so.
Number fifty two is somebody you need to be looking out for.
Number zero is somebody you might want to know where they're at.
Dian not die.
Number zero freaking thumper man freaking thumper.
When you think about a linebacker in the NFL, that is him a third round pick from twenty three.
But he he's a dude, man right in the middle.
He's a he's a guy who just makes plays.
Perryman number six, forty five, you know, tu lee to but I can pronounce his last name, Polly.
They they're solid at the second level.
Okay, there you go, third level.
That for real, third level slash kind of second level.
Probably their best player, I would say their best player on the field.
Speaker 1Dirt Irwin.
Speaker 5It ain't Irwin James, Derwin James, Yeah, Derwin, Derwin James.
Yeah, Survival of the Fittest, Yeah, number three games.
You might want to know where he's at if you're running any kind of routes remotely from five to fifteen yards.
Speaker 1He's healthy nowadays, This dude is he's a he's a problem.
He's a problem.
Speaker 5He see ball, hit ball, hit you in your chest, plays physical at the line of scrimmage, plays physical anywhere in the box.
He's a he's a guy.
He's he's somebody that he's a franchise defensive players.
Speaker 1Just put it that way.
Speaker 5One of the best quote unquote safeties, slash nickel backs, whatever you want to call him.
Speaker 1That you that you've seen in this game in a very long time.
Speaker 5So all I have to say, there's plenty of other guys that can go down a list on These guys run a too high shell for the most part, but they will mix a match with single high.
They like to play zone, but they will have no problem matching you up in man.
They're not that necessarily.
Their cornerbacks aren't necessarily world beaters in man coverage.
But they are sticky.
They are sticky.
They will stay in your hip pocket.
They are going to contest absolutely everything.
Speaker 3The way they defended those Eagles received stuck out to me.
Just two weeks ago Monday Night Football.
They were all all over it over them, and of course DeVante Smith and AJ Brown still had their fair share because they're going to beat these guys.
Speaker 1Yeah, you can beat them.
Speaker 3Yeah, But man, it was consistent, even the windows.
And that's why Jalen Hurts had five turnovers at one game was because he was throwing in the tight windows the entire football game.
Speaker 4And he didn't like to do that.
Speaker 5No, nobody does.
Nobody does.
And that's the thing like these guys.
They'll they'll blitz, but they're not like doing no exiety blitz.
They don't need they don't need to.
They usually bring four and if they do blitz, they'll bring one additional guy.
They'll have a stand up linebacker.
You over your guard and he'll drop out.
They'll bring somebody on the outside.
It's not like special right, you can pick it up.
But they have so much trust in their front line and they're off their Their defensive backs are so sticky in their defense that you run out of time, and that's really what they count on as the reason why they get so many interceptions.
I mentioned that their cornerbacks aren't necessarily world beaters in terms of coverage, but they're not really getting beat over the top because they have help over the top.
So very challenging.
Everything that you're going to do is going to be contested.
Okay, how do you beat them?
Run the ball?
Speaker 1And I don't regardless of the fact that we have really good receivers run the ball.
Speaker 4If you'll remember, set Sakuan had a really good run against them, catching them in poor run defense.
That's something that obviously hopefully you can lean on.
But again, dude, their pass rush uotit is insane.
Yes, you talked about Colomack already, you talked about Tully o'daffi, O way, goodness, he's been great, dude.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Wow.
Speaker 4The heart as well is up there too, top here.
Speaker 6Yeah.
Speaker 1And o'daffi is a guy that they just rotate through.
Speaker 4Yeah, rocational guy.
Speaker 1He rot the thing.
Speaker 5Here's what you really should be concerned with.
Number one, everything as they have said, but the Cowboys offensive line.
They're coming off two weeks in which they've allowed a combined forty one pressures.
Speaker 1Twenty and twenty one combined forty one pressures.
Speaker 5This is a Chargers defense that talk about the Chiefs, for example, they just recently played the Chiefs generated twenty one pressure.
Speaker 3Yep, twenty one.
And you want to know where seventeen of those pressures came from?
Mac And well, it wasn't just one player.
It was when they rushed four.
Oh oh, you mean just when they rushed four they had seventeen of those twenty one pressures.
Speaker 4That doesn't seem like a lot, Kyle.
Speaker 3That's not a lot.
Guys.
They got one pressure when they rushed three.
Oh we're rushing three guys, getting that means two of your guys are getting double team and they're still getting a pressure.
Speaker 5One thing I forgot to throw out there.
They have a safety that has been around the league since Jesus was born, and he has been there is somebody who's been on a practice squad, he's been under active roster.
This dude actually went to scouting, scouting and coaching, and then he came back as a player.
He's somebody who has killed us every single year in the preseason.
Speaker 10Oh.
Speaker 5I was about to say, this is the preseason preseason freaking warrior.
You think, oh, okay, he's just having good preseason games.
No, this dude has been around for I think twelve season or something.
Crazy Tony Jefferson twenty three ballhawk.
It's really one of the best stories in the full.
Speaker 1An amazing story.
He definitely needs a movie written about him.
Speaker 4He's overall ranked safety according to the PFF.
Speaker 1Yeah, screw Puff's ranking on that one.
Don't throw the ball his way because he will pick it off.
Speaker 3That's a good ranking.
Speaker 1That's a pretty good ranking, I know, but they screw that.
I would not.
He's a ball hawk and he will hit you.
I think he just got ejected nineteen in the league.
I think he got ranking.
Speaker 5I think he got ejected from the last game, so I'm not sure about his availability and hit on.
Speaker 3Bro I don't think it's a one.
Speaker 1I don't think.
Speaker 3I don't think.
Speaker 5I think I think he'll be a I think he's either way.
Be aware if you're throwing the ball his way.
He literally has great ball instincts.
It's not just in the preseason because he's picked us off.
I think every year in the preseason played him.
It's in the regular season's wild you.
Speaker 1Have, man, Yeah, I just I can't stress enough.
Speaker 5Because we were talking about how tackle was uh a problem, A problem for lack of a better way to just the same.
Speaker 1I was going to say something.
I was gonna use the worst adjective.
Speaker 3But okay, I'm trying to save you.
Speaker 5That's fine because Bamer would have to just beep it out.
But yeah, and twenty one pressures.
Twenty one is the Chiefs Cowboys have allowed forty one combined pressures over the past two weeks.
And then you talk about the edges so said his name again exactly, That's what it would have had to been.
Speaker 1That's scared reverse I'm going to call.
Speaker 5I'm not evenna try Lasts.
I'm just gonna call him to Tully also because he's a weapon to weapon.
Two Khalil and Tooley generated eight and seven pressures respectively by themselves against the chiefs.
They are coming off of their edges.
And you are in trouble if you cannot stop those guys.
And the problem is is you have Terrence Steele.
Now he's struggling again after having a very good three game stretch.
He's struggling again on that side.
On the opposite side, you don't know if Tyler Guidan is available, and if he's not available, you don't know if Nate Thomas is available.
And the chemodenergy went out there and he got a holding penalty because he doesn't get a ton of reps.
Speaker 1You're in trouble.
You're in big trouble.
You're in really big trouble.
Speaker 6Caught me now.

It's a regular Let's get Mike on the New York on the line.
Speaker 6What up, Mike, don't go on on, guys.
It's Jeff Today.
Speaker 12Today, Today's my official both day.
And thank you, thank you, thank you with being a great talking to you guys.
I wish the Cowboys were playing a little better.
We got to go defense.
In the draft, defense and more defense said it many times, it's defenses and our defensive coordinator.
I feel like he definitely has to be I don't know if it's a scheme.
We talk about it every week, the same thing, like, I feel like we played good the last couple game.
The couple games prior to Detroit, like to like now back to square one.
Speaker 3Yeah, I appreciate the phone call, Mike, appreciate you listening, and of course happy birthday.
I agree.
That's what's frustrating to me is you thought this was a different team following the trade deadline, and I think they're better than they were pre trade them all.
For sure, they're definitely a better team, but they're not where you hoped they would go.
And I think this is probably more of the realistic side of who they are now.
Are they better than what they were showing prior to the bye week?
Speaker 1Yes?
Speaker 3Are they still a contender to possibly make the playoffs next year at the moment, I would say yes.
Are they a Super Bowl contender?
Absolutely not.
There's a difference between all of that.
So I agree with Mike.
That's where the frustration lies for me.
Is you fix one thing and then another thing pops up.
It's like an old car, you know, like you're fixing one thing and then your transmission goes out, and then your transmissions fixed, and then I know, I'm a little upset about this, And then your tire goes down and then you can fix that, and then your AC goes out like it's just all of those different elements and you're still kind of right back where you were initially.
Speaker 5Yeah, and that's I mean, fans have a right to be frustrated.
I do agree, Cale, I do think this team is better.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's just not good.
It's just better than terrible it was.
Speaker 5I mean, the defense was terrible before the Bie week, and now it's better than terrible.
Speaker 1Yeah, we can agree.
It's just not good.
Now can it be good?
Speaker 6Yeah?
Speaker 5Offseason and you make some you know, some changes, see what you can get in free and not see what you can get.
Go get something in free agency.
Handle the draft the right way.
Speaker 1I do disagree with saying it should be defense, defense, defense in the draft.
Speaker 5You're smart and you got some offense and some things that you need to fix.
We just sat here and talked about the offensive line.
I know people don't want to talk about You don't want to use another first round pick up.
Speaker 1Man, dude, what you gotta do.
Speaker 3Survive?
Speaker 5Survive, But the conversation has to be had, uh in the front office and with Brian Schottenheimer on Matt Eberflus.
That's just the fact that you have to have that conversation.
Now, whether you choose to continue with Matt Eberflus next year or you choose not to, it's still a conversation that has behaved.
Speaker 1If you continue with him, then you gotta the fact.
Speaker 5A lot of this needs to be the thing that we need to see by this date and this date and this date has to be benchmarks that need to be passed, because if he's not hearting those benchmarks, then along those lines.
Speaker 3The report from Bobby Belt, friend of the show one on five through the Fan, he said, they will evaluate Matt Eberflus.
They haven't made a decision.
They're not going to make a decision, but over these final three games, a lot of what they're going to look at over these final three games is going to be how they view his status.
Speaker 5Man, how much not the problem.
He's not the only one.
They need to have a conversation about Nick Sawnson as well.
Speaker 4How much say do the players have in this?
Do you think there's a tallly of coaches reaching out to players to be like, you know, what where do you stand on where you are defensively scheme wise?
Speaker 1What do you think is right wrong?
Speaker 4What could be improved?
All of these things?
Do you think the players have any sort of skin in the game when it comes to.
Speaker 1Do you ask on defense?
Speaker 3That's that was exactly where I was heading.
Speaker 5Well, the one who we've had a conversation, the one who was asked and answered he might not make it off of yore.
Speaker 3Yeah, but he never really showed that he was a I'm saying he was.
He was as he was vocal and aswered, but that doesn't mean he was a leader.
Speaker 5And he wasn't wrong because we all agreed with the yeah because he was saying yeah, and that's all he said, and we agreed, and then you know, it happened, and then it didn't happen again, and now we're right back here to secondary happened.
I'm not necessarily sure past weekend we got torched.
Well that person so yeah, yeah, I mean, but he.
Speaker 4Called it also, No, I was, I was like, you know who you ask I mean, I think you asked your your players that you've invested in and you know that you've seen play well.
I mean, doron blame would be a question for me like probably how would you, uh, what would you want to see out of your defensive scheme currently and like of course, osa, of course Quentin Williams.
Of course the guys that you believe in, right, Marvin overshow I want to see what they're thinking is in terms of defensive coordinators, just to see what could be improved from their from their vantage point right, because they're seeing something on the field that's they.
Speaker 3See what is wrong.
When there's a play that happens and they know who missed an assignment.
Everybody knows.
You see it on the film, you know what play was called.
So yeah, I agree with you.
I don't know how much say they have.
I don't know if they have that such should that be the case.
Speaker 1I think should be.
I think that should be the conversation.
Speaker 3I think that's what Dan did well.
Yeah, that not that Dan Quinn is perfect and that everything revolves back to him, but he's the last defensive coordinator here that had success consistently.
He relied a lot on.
Speaker 1The player input.
Speaker 5Man, if I'm Shotingheimer number when I get paid paid a lot more.
But if I'm shot Himer, I would absolutely tick and handle the situation in a way where I get into a room with all of my defensive guys, no defensive coaches, no position coaches, just you know, no coordinator.
It's just me as the head coach in a room with the defensive guys and saying, speak freely, speaking mine.
Speaker 3They may have already done that, don't Maybe that's what I mean, he could have.
Speaker 5I'm just saying that I would hope that he would, because that's the way that you get the pure una dooter rated because at the moment, if you don't do that, then the players are probably going to speak through a filter, maybe right, because it's like, well, I don't really want to offend a really nice guy, right, that's what I mean, really good, really good guy.
But at the same time, you need you need the actual feedback.
So I would just send them all down in the room defensive, unfiltered, sit them down in the room, the defensive guys, just them and the head coach, and say, hey, speak freely, what do you think went wrong?
Speaker 1What would you have liked to see happened this season?
What would you like to see going forward?
Speaker 5And then as the head coach, you then take all of that back, and then you have a conversation with the front office, and you also allow that the color your conversation with Matt eber Flus, and of course you don't name names, but you say, well, some of the feedback I've been getting there's a trend toward this being something that the players had an issue with, this being something like that.
And then now how would you look to resolve it?
Now it's a reinterview.
I say, reinterview them, right, that's what it needs to be.
You need to have the interview.
It's all over again.
Sell me on why you should get another shot here and again.
This is not a knock to Ebaflus as a man.
He is a very good human being to be around at Ebaflus.
Just to love him as a human, yeah, he's awesome.
But as a coordinator, you've got questions.
You got to make tough decisions and go to culture.
All right, shot he here's another conversation we got.
Speaker 3Let's get to these two calls.
I just want to get through him real quick.
All right, Let's go to Hoodie Cush.
What about Hoody Cush back on the top of the Cowboys platform.
What up, dude?
Speaker 6What's the deal?
Gentlemen?
I got two quick questions, one from mister standback.
I'll start with that one.
You've been around the league, You've you've noodled and commiserated with a bunch of different coaches and coaching stams.
What do you think about mister one, mister Antonio Piers as a defensive coordinator.
Speaker 3We can't talk about names.
Speaker 1He's is he free?
Speaker 5He's okay?
If he's not right, I'm sorry.
I don't know about AP's ability to lead internal in an entire unit.
I would have to ask more resources in regards to that.
I know he's a heck of a player.
I know he became a head coach and interim head coach, and he became the head coach.
Didn't work out well for him, so unfortunately.
Yeah, so I'm not sure I would have to do more homework there.
Speaker 6Okay, I'll get back to you on that one.
We'll talk about that all that.
Second question, would you talking about draft season?
Would you be more inclined to move back in the day too?
Speaker 1Oh?
Speaker 3Good question, Thanks, hooty coach.
I appreciate you.
Speaker 1No, stay with your chest, cat, no.
Speaker 6Chick.
Speaker 3It depends on what happens.
It depends on what you've got there.
If you're sitting there, Let's say the Packers go on some sort of run.
Let's say they go and they've got twenty eight to twenty nine in the draft, right, and that's your second first round pick.
Yeah, I probably think about it unless there's somebody there that you want to have a fifth year option on.
I would take a couple extra picks, load back up on the trades that you'd make because you don't have a third round pick.
You don't don't have a fifth round pick, I don't believe, and so you get some cop picks in the middle of it.
But if you trade from twenty nine or thirty back into the second round, you're going to pick up some significant capital there.
So yeah, I would consider it, but I would rather if there's a guy there that I think is a dude and he's going to be a badass for you for five seasons, go just stick and pick the player.
I'm cool with that too, because you've got two first round picks for the first time and what is it, thirteen years, fourteen years, something like that, and it's yeah, you might as well use it while you got a chance.
Speaker 4If there's not a player there that's going to impact your team right here right now, I mean.
Speaker 3Yeah, what do you doing, don't get cute?
Speaker 1Make the pick?
Speaker 3Yeah, make the pick, and let's go all right, last one Cynthia and Laredo.
What's going on?
Cynthia, welcome back to Talking Cowboys.
Speaker 10Thank you, sweetie.
I just want to say pelist that yeah, and I say real quick.
I don't know I even remember, but the night before the Philadelphia EAG game, I got to meet you at the mall and your wife and your children.
Speaker 5They're beautiful.
Speaker 1It's good to hear your voice again.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 12Thank you for stopping.
Speaker 10I looked at you and then you looked at me like, okay, but really, I really just wanted to wish you guys are very merry Christmas with a lot of God's blessing and real too quick question, which is the player you would like to see that hasn't played?
Okay, and y'all have a very merry Christmas.
Speaker 3Guys, Thank you very much.
Speaker 5Since hasn't played, i'd like to see play Bye bye bye perry On.
Speaker 1That's good.
Speaker 3Phil Oh, I'm Shamar too.
Feels a good one though.
I'm gonna go with Shamar.
That's gonna do a figure us here on Talking Cowboys.
Thanks for coming in, Thanks for joining us over the course of the day.
For Patrick Noze, Walker, Josh Rodriguez, Isaiah stand back, Beam in the back.

Speaker 1Yemens.
Speaker 3We'll see you tomorrow with some lab coats.
Speaker 1Can't wait.
Speaker 3It's gonna be a lot of fun.
We'll be right back tomorrow.
Speaker 9This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
