[SPEAKER_00]: Swish and Flick, everyone.

[SPEAKER_02]: Hello and welcome to a bonus episode of Swish and Flick Live from Wizardly World of Kent, [SPEAKER_02]: I'm Tiffany.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Megan.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm Katie.

[SPEAKER_02]: And this episode is sponsored by Over Easy.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Over easy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for hosting us again.

[SPEAKER_01]: We love you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the delicious food.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure to follow us on your preferred podcast listening platform like Spotify and Apple podcasts.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're on all podcast listening platforms.

[SPEAKER_00]: Subscribe to our channel on YouTube at SwishinFlic podcast and follow us on Instagram and TikTok at SwishinFliccast.

[SPEAKER_01]: Before we get started, be warned.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be discussing books one through four today.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you've not read those books or seen those movies, you might want to cover your ears.

[SPEAKER_00]: In case there's any kiddos here that haven't read them.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is a reread of the series.

[SPEAKER_02]: So all of our reactions are from probably five reads total for each of us if not more.

[SPEAKER_02]: Some of us more than others with Deathly Hallows.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[SPEAKER_02]: So when I was thinking about creating this episodes for this weekend, I wanted to make sure that, you know, we can appeal to a large audience on our regular podcasts that we're doing right now.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're actually nearing towards the end of our first podcasted reread of the series.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're nearing towards the Battle of Hogwarts at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I was just thinking, you know, we're going through these books and, you know, we got to dive a little bit deeper into Harry's life.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought that we could talk about Harry Potter and the worst summers ever.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we all bad, I mean most of them are pretty good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: They at least all have one bad aspect to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, for sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_02]: The Derslease.

[SPEAKER_02]: So starting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone, we have the Sorcerer Stone of many of our friends are here.

[SPEAKER_01]: You still subscribe to that.

[SPEAKER_02]: So the location of Harry spending his summer, it's at number twelve-private drive, also the hut on the rock, and adventuring into diagonally.

[SPEAKER_02]: So take your brains all the way back to book one right before we're going and getting our letters here.

[SPEAKER_02]: We have Dudley's birthday, which is June, twenty-third of nineteen eighty.

[SPEAKER_02]: And this is when all the fun kind of begins.

[SPEAKER_02]: We have the trip to the zoo and Harry being the third wheel.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we have Dudley being very upset about his Nicarbacher glory, which if you don't know what that is, which we didn't, it is ice cream in a very tall glass that's oftentimes vanilla and flavor has some fruits, whipped cream, like an ice cream sundae.

[SPEAKER_02]: didn't have enough ice cream so Harry got to have some ice cream this summer and I think that that's that was definitely a shining that's a good time to get a he got done these leftover ice cream [SPEAKER_02]: Then as we know at the Reptile House, Harry strikes up a conversation with a book in Strictor, totally normal, accidentally sends it on Dudley.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just kidding, he really did though.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't blame him.

[SPEAKER_02]: But unfortunately, that was a little bit of fun, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: He had a good time.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: But then he gets shut into his cupboard for a pretty long time after pulling that.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then the letters start.

[SPEAKER_02]: So he gets some letters addressed to him at number four, private drive, little winging, sorry.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he was not allowed to have these.

[SPEAKER_02]: And because of this letter and the address to the cupboard under the stairs, [SPEAKER_02]: Harry gets a new bedroom, which is also another plus, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: That's a positive.

[SPEAKER_02]: So that's more than any other summer in his life.

[SPEAKER_02]: Up to this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: Second bedroom becomes Harry's.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I like how a Vernon gets down to the cupboard and he's like, ah, so Harry.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're getting a little big.

[SPEAKER_02]: For a closet.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: So as we know many more letters come so we got to leave right we got to shake them off.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they have his crib in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't think so?

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said do they have his crib in that closet?

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say no.

[SPEAKER_02]: I really want to say no but I don't know.

[SPEAKER_02]: That is a horrible thought, too.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: So we need to leave number four-private drive.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're going on vacation.

[SPEAKER_02]: See you this these days.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go to the hot on the rock, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: And after a little short stay, which is like an overnight, Harry gets to meet a lifelong friend of his Rubius Hagrid.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we get the ever popular line from the movies is your wizard, Harry.

[SPEAKER_02]: But it's actually not the line from the book.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like I forget that from time to time.

[SPEAKER_02]: I do.

[SPEAKER_02]: Harry, your wizard.

[SPEAKER_02]: So save that for your trivia nights because that's a trickster.

[SPEAKER_02]: That is trickster.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's a trickster.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you're looking at you, Katie Kay.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at you.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have to remember that.

[SPEAKER_02]: That'll be a question for trivia.

[SPEAKER_02]: You remember it.

[SPEAKER_01]: All those points for Hufflepuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to add it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will not share any snacks this weekend.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is a big summer for Harry.

[SPEAKER_02]: He finds out some part of the story about how his parents really died.

[SPEAKER_02]: How Hagrid picked him up from the wreckage of his former home, that there's a bad guy who Hagrid and everybody else is scared of saying his name.

[SPEAKER_02]: And Harry makes the connection with the green light curse that he's been seeing in his dreams and the high cold cruel laugh is now added.

[SPEAKER_02]: Dudley gets a pig's tail.

[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely a highlight of his summer.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know we're not supposed to laugh at that, but like it's funny.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit funny.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's traumatizing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very much.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like trauma just makes you funny here, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: You got to laugh at it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Harry finds out that Hagrid isn't allowed to do magic because he was expelled, finding out later.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, he learns about wizard money, real dragons, there's a newspaper, there's a minister, and a ministry, and he learns that you'd be mad to try and rob Grinkot's bank.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's funny.

[SPEAKER_02]: He also learns about a man named Dumbledore who has sent Hagrid to get him, and that Hagrid does important things for him, and makes him feel good, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: Harry learns that Haggard flew to come and get him, so he knows that flying's involved.

[SPEAKER_02]: And when he finally gets to read his letter, he gets to hear about all the items that he's going to need for his first year of Hogwarts.

[SPEAKER_02]: You guys, things are turning up Harry this summer because he's also never been to London, and here we go.

[SPEAKER_02]: He gets to go to London for the first time, gets to go into the Leaky Cauldron, and gets his first experience about being the famous Harry Potter.

[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't make any sense because he was just at the zoo.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's the London Zoo.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like London proper.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: The one that they go to in the book isn't the London Zoo.

[SPEAKER_00]: They just used that one in the movie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there are movieisms.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're right.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's just weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well.

[SPEAKER_00]: I believe I'm not questioning you.

[SPEAKER_00]: These are the pressing questions.

[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think that was directly from the book?

[SPEAKER_00]: What?

[SPEAKER_02]: Using the Underground for the first time.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's a fun time.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is mine to look at.

[SPEAKER_02]: Public transportation.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're here for it.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he also gets to experience diagonally for the first time going inside to bring God's Bank, meets the goblin, gets the wand, and head wig, head wig.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she a good bird birthday present.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he's got his first experience at the train station as well.

[SPEAKER_02]: It starts out pretty horrible, but it ends with him meeting his new found family.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's so sweet.

[SPEAKER_02]: I know I kind of want to cry.

[SPEAKER_02]: So the question is, did Harry have fun this summer?

[SPEAKER_02]: Some fun at the zoo gets to have some ice cream.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be at leftover.

[SPEAKER_02]: You get to see a gorilla that he notes.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's at a restaurant there.

[SPEAKER_02]: Talks figures out that he can talk to snakes, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: See some instant karma which I am personally here for in the form of the glass disappearing.

[SPEAKER_02]: Get some mail.

[SPEAKER_02]: Always fun to get mail.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: New bedroom, new friends, wizard, new school gets to move, you know?

[SPEAKER_02]: Get to move out of private drive.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think that I think all in all, he had a pretty good time this summer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about your two.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your two, give me it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not as fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there are some good moments still.

[SPEAKER_00]: So starts off bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: The locations, yeah, the locations, this summer for Chamber of Secrets, he obviously starts out at Privet Drive as per years.

[SPEAKER_00]: It gets to go to the borough.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also gets to go to Diagon Alley and Knock Turn Alley.

[SPEAKER_00]: And, like being the entirety of England and part of Scotland, while he flies over it in the flying car, that is pretty cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, pretty good summer.

[SPEAKER_00]: minus the fact that he gets jailed pretty instantly by his aunt and uncle.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we start the summer off with the Dersluse just being the worst ever.

[SPEAKER_00]: They take Harry's school trunk and lock it up in his old cupboard under the stairs along with his broom.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's pretty sad also because he hasn't gotten any letters from any of his friends and that seems very odd to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't really make sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I hate how he questions if Hogwarts was like a dream.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that is really, really sad.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, did that really happen?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's also giving five.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, order the Phoenix also starts out with him feeling very isolated and all.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's my least favorite powder conspiracy.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, it's just all a dream.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he woke up and his cover.

[SPEAKER_02]: The last line is that Harry wakes up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, Rowan.

[SPEAKER_00]: Drama ensues pretty quickly because Dobby shows up just in time for Uncle Vernon's big dinner with the mason while Harry is pretending like he doesn't exist up in his room.

[SPEAKER_01]: Mr.

Mason, where are you taking your coat?

[SPEAKER_02]: He really gams it up.

[SPEAKER_00]: with his pig tail.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dobby warns Harry at this point that he should not be returning to Hogwarts and Harry's like absolutely not.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course I'm going to return to Hogwarts.

[SPEAKER_00]: What are you talking about?

[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen my life here?

[SPEAKER_00]: And Dobby is really insistent and he says that if he doesn't agree he is basically going to cause chaos and Harry will regret that decision.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it kind of is.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, he's the Derslease.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the mouth voice.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm tired.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm talking about.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Dobby's insistent and Harry does not agree with Dobby.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so Dobby goes downstairs and drops a cake on Mrs.

Mason's head.

[SPEAKER_00]: Makes it look like Harry did it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Harry is basically grounded for life.

[SPEAKER_02]: I really always have wanted to eat that cake.

[SPEAKER_00]: It looks really delicious.

[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like honeydews in cake form.

[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like a trifle if it wasn't in a bowl.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know what you mean.

[SPEAKER_01]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when it splats, it's like just frosting.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the frosting looks like ice cream cake frosting.

[SPEAKER_00]: You could okay, fake that.

[SPEAKER_00]: fair.

[SPEAKER_01]: We should try.

[SPEAKER_02]: There's no weed.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's no weed.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's just you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll eat it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So like I said, Harry's basically grounded for life because they think that he dropped this cake on Mrs.

Mason's head and then an owl comes and she's also terrified of birds.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that just adds to his groundedness.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he literally gets locked up in his room, bars get put on his window.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's literally like a jail cell.

[SPEAKER_00]: He eats through a cat flap.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's allowed out [SPEAKER_00]: to use the bathroom like twice a day or something.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is not good.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's abusive.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, Ron, Fred and George are concerned about Harry because they had been sending him letters and they had not been hearing back from him and this was not like Harry.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, I love that Fred and George are just as concerned as Ron.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's only your own family, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing.

[SPEAKER_01]: There are good things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, they come up with a whole rescue mission.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they borrow Mr.

Waysley's flying car.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fly all the way it's little winging.

[SPEAKER_00]: And without GPS.

[SPEAKER_00]: Without GPS.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did they map question?

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it's magic.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: They probably used a real map.

[SPEAKER_00]: Spin the worm up.

[SPEAKER_01]: They can't do magic.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're on the rage.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're flying a car.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's magic.

[SPEAKER_01]: The might as Harry get nailed for this, probably got a compass in the car.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is a little bit of like leeway, I think, with magical families.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because there's so much going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what's going on?

[SPEAKER_02]: The parents too, you know, take care of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe they did.

[SPEAKER_02]: Arthur's going to be like, hey, how'd it go?

[SPEAKER_02]: Right?

[SPEAKER_02]: How'd it go?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's fine.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they get there.

[SPEAKER_00]: They successfully remove the bars from his window without waking up the dirt's leaves.

[SPEAKER_00]: How?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fred and George Climin, the window, sneak downstairs, pick the lock, get his school trunk and his broom.

[SPEAKER_00]: The muggle way, the muggle way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then they get him in the car and they are so happy.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, yes, we did it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're about to leave and Harry's head wig.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they have to go back, climb back in, get her.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is when Mr.

Dersley almost catches them.

[SPEAKER_02]: I love this part of the movie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's a scary phrase.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's really good in the movie.

[SPEAKER_00]: But he barely gets away.

[SPEAKER_00]: I put in my notes.

[SPEAKER_00]: He gets away by the skin of his two large sluck.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's what?

[SPEAKER_00]: He's two large sluck because it's a hammy down from Dudley.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they [SPEAKER_00]: fly the car across the literal country to retrieve him and then bring him back.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he has his first ever experience at a magical household that he remembers, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, sadness.

[SPEAKER_00]: he falls in love with this house and like rightfully so it's like you can just see the light in his eye in that movie when he walks in there and like Ron is just like it's not much in here he's like it's everything you know know what I would give to have dishes for ourselves right oh my god literally every time I watch that movie I'm like Molly do you know what you have [SPEAKER_00]: prep all of the dinner, like just magically.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I didn't have to do any prep work and I could just do the fun part of cooking, like I would put all the time.

[SPEAKER_02]: You could make that cake.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could make that cake.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So these, okay, so he's at the dirt, oh my gosh, he's at the weaseliest.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we're happy now.

[SPEAKER_00]: They need to go and get their school supplies because their animals came and they use flu powder.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm about about a minute.

[SPEAKER_00]: and they travel to diagonally and hearing accidentally exits at nocturnal.

[SPEAKER_02]: Say it the way he says it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Diagonally.

[SPEAKER_02]: Diagonally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Diagonally.

[SPEAKER_01]: What did he say?

[SPEAKER_01]: Diagonally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Diagonally.

[SPEAKER_00]: So in Dr.

Naly, he sees Draco and Daddy Mouthway and they're in Borgon and Burke and Harry Hides in a closet, which no one should ever have to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: What?

[SPEAKER_00]: He hides in the closet.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's what she said.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: No one should be in the closet.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I said.

[SPEAKER_01]: Second, Daddy Mouthway.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we have to distinguish between you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just don't put luscious in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Drake, I was daddy now, boy.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they end up getting all of their dad and get swimmers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just move on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I skipped a park because I was so excited about this part.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, about day now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thankfully, he escapes out of the closet.

[SPEAKER_00]: as everyone should and he goes out into nocturn and Hagrid saves him.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a cabinet.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the cabinet closet, same thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's the model.

[SPEAKER_00]: The cabinet university.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: What if he disappeared?

[SPEAKER_00]: What if he just like, it was worse.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't fixed.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was broken.

[SPEAKER_00]: Draco fixes it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like what are the odds?

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, isn't this one Draco gets the hand of glory?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the Hagrid brings him back to the Wiesley's and Hermione is there too.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the fingernails, toenails.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that part is so gross.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're not talking about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, we'll stall you, my dear.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tiffany.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mr.

Wait.

[SPEAKER_00]: My gosh, I'm like all over the place again.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's our fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not your fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's our fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: They run into Gilderay Lockhart at Floresham Blots.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amazing.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Molly is so excited.

[SPEAKER_00]: So excited.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Mr.

Weasley and Daddy Malphoy.

[SPEAKER_00]: getting a fight, Molly's embarrassed.

[SPEAKER_00]: They end up getting all of their school supplies plus an extra diary in Jenny's cauldron before heading back to the burrow and then soon after that they're off to King's Cross Station.

[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, at this point, they can't get through the barrier and instead of, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: waiting to talk to Mr.

and Miss Sweesley.

[SPEAKER_00]: What about five minutes to our using headwigs and sending a letter to someone they decide we're going to steal the car and fly across the country?

[SPEAKER_00]: What could happen?

[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing's going to happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fine.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they crash land at Hogwarts many hours later.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have any fun?

[SPEAKER_00]: Shockingly, yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.

[SPEAKER_00]: So once he makes it to the borough, it's mostly fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mine is the scary part about Nocturnalie, and having to pose with Gilderoy, because he's just kind of like, you know, you'll make a front page.

[SPEAKER_01]: Are you done?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm done.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about the best book.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is a good one.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely a good one.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that Tiffany gives me my favorite things.

[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really like you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I really like you too.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So locations we got private drive, of course, the night bus, I feel like that counts as a location in a totally clean, clean, cold, and diagonally.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we start with Harry doing his homework under nightfall, because again, the dursings have locked his stuff up in the cupboard, but he has homework to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he learned how to pick the lock from Fred and George, so he stole some of the books back that he needed.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is the first time Harry cares about his education and last.

[SPEAKER_01]: History of magic, who cares?

[SPEAKER_01]: So he sneaks that up to his room.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's like doing it under his sheets.

[SPEAKER_01]: So far, it has not been a fun summer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Run called on the felly tone and screamed into it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Uncle Vernon, of course, was the one that answered.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it ended with, don't you call it near my family?

[SPEAKER_01]: And then Harry got [SPEAKER_01]: They're big trouble.

[SPEAKER_01]: While he's doing this homework, the Al post arrives.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why I like that the first chapter is Al post and the last one's Al post again.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like very sad.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's the reason for the birth of Al's command.

[SPEAKER_02]: What?

[SPEAKER_01]: I said, that's why I called it Alice's going to be.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the Al-Poster Rives, it's Harry's birthday, and his besties have sent him gifts, a sneakoscope, which it's clearly broken.

[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing weird is going on, because it's going off all the time, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely broken.

[SPEAKER_01]: And scabbers is in the room.

[SPEAKER_01]: A broom serving kit from Hermione and the monster book of monsters.

[SPEAKER_01]: So here's the real Hagrid Hagrid.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the real kicker of the summer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Dear Aunt Marge is coming to visit.

[SPEAKER_02]: I love her.

[SPEAKER_02]: She's so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's so great.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's great.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Harry has to come up with this plan to survive it.

[SPEAKER_01]: He strikes the deal with Vernon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Will you sign my permission slip into Hogsmeed because that's what all the cool kids are doing this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll pretend that I go to St.

[SPEAKER_01]: Brutus' thingy thingy.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thingy thingy.

[SPEAKER_01]: So things go, okay, Harry keeps his word until the last night.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, it's the last night.

[SPEAKER_01]: March has too much to drink.

[SPEAKER_01]: She wants to pick on, not just Harry this time, because he's kind of like been taking that all week, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like wherever he tries to disappear and she wants him like front and center so she can pick on him.

[SPEAKER_01]: But she starts getting not as parents and he can't take that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he tells her you're wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were not deadbeats, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he gets so angry, he loses control of his magic, blows her up like a big balloon, no big deal, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: But Harry's like, I'm a convict.

[SPEAKER_01]: I gotta go.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Considering what happened the previous summer, it's valid for him to feel those feels because they cared about a house self-doing magic.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if I would have escalated to, like, as command.

[SPEAKER_01]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're right.

[SPEAKER_00]: But also, I would have thought I was expelled though for sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would have been expelled from Hogwarts.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is pretty wild because you have magic you do within your house like Dobby being there.

[SPEAKER_02]: But then you have Aunt Marge being a giant balloon and flying over Muggle House.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it is a little bit different.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's some giant dragon outside the window right now.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's amazing.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're taking a picture.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to burn up that shirt.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's amazing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just had to point that out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_01]: The ultimate distraction.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well done dragon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amazing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can you please run out there and shout out that?

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Harry makes the decision.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm clearly going to be expelled.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to take my wand.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got to get out of here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm on the run.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to take him down.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to ask him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Where was I?

[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's things run only once he's gone like I feel like we've all had that moment away from home moment because like you know something stupid didn't happen for you as a kid But then you're like what would you actually do if you ran away from home?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you'd be screwed So he's like oh no like what do I do now?

[SPEAKER_01]: He's broken this law again.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna go to jail So he accidentally calls the night bus right?

[SPEAKER_01]: after he thinks he sees, he doesn't know this yet, but the grim, grim.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Chrissy, this is for you, you're not here yet, but this is for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: What you follow before?

[SPEAKER_00]: I did do it on purpose.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, come on, let us not wait for the grass to grow.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you love that part?

[SPEAKER_01]: We quote that like so much, I don't know why.

[SPEAKER_01]: So during the trip to Leaky Caldron, that's in London.

[SPEAKER_01]: He gets a better idea of who serious black is, and Stan would talk about that for hours, but Ernie tells him, talk about something else, because let me ask you, man, guards give me the collie wobbles.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's because Molly gave Arthur the Colley wobbles.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was anxious because he liked her.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why that's her nickname.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just got it.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's adorable.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they pulled the Lee Kaldrin, the minister for magic is there, and Harry's like, oh, I'm really done for now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, absolutely as command, life sentence, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: But Fudge isn't mad at all.

[SPEAKER_01]: He tells Harry his aunt's all fixed up, and that's that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Harry's like, wait, what about punishment?

[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, do you want to be punished?

[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then he gets to live and die on Ellie until school starts.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, genuinely.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's amazing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Coolest summer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Literally, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He gets to go and do his homework at Florian for the skews and get free ice cream.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: For like weeks.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a go look at the broomstick that he wants every day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Pine over it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So did Harry have any fun this summer?

[SPEAKER_01]: He did.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was, this is like a quote from the book.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was happy for the first time in his life that it was his birthday because he got gifts from people who care about him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gifts that were actually thought about for him specifically.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not, it wasn't a toothpick or an old sock.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or an old sock.

[SPEAKER_02]: Fifty cent piece.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: The best part though is living in diagonally for a couple weeks on his own, all the ice cream, the fire bowl, he runs in his classmates there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And eventually he meets up with Hermione Louise before they all have back to Hogwarts.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine being let loose in diagonally, especially as like a thirteen year old?

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_01]: That would, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jinks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Did you jinks?

[SPEAKER_02]: I jinks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she did.

[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't hear y'all the way over here.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know what to do at it.

[SPEAKER_01]: She owes me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know anything.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was saying you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Tiffany, a coat.

[SPEAKER_00]: Megan, I was Tiffany.

[SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I hope you're all happy with years one through three.

[SPEAKER_02]: Because four is great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Four is pretty cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: Harry Potter and the goblet of fire.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, we're at [SPEAKER_02]: for a bit drive, we're at the burrow, we're at the Quidditch World Cup, things happen, let's get into it.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, this one actually doesn't start out necessarily like on for a bit drive page one.

[SPEAKER_02]: It starts with Harry's dream about the Riddle House, Voldemort Wormtail and a mysterious someone who's actually Barty Crouch, Jr.

[SPEAKER_02]: And a muggle named Frank Bryce.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I say dream and air quotes for those who can't see me because we all know that Harry is a seer.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And this is not a dream.

[SPEAKER_01]: Especially unaffishly confirmed.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's our head cannon for sure.

[SPEAKER_02]: She's ours and I can't explain it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, Harry has many questions about this stream because the scar is prickling and last time that happened, Voldemort was near.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he thought that this would be impossible.

[SPEAKER_02]: So he has some moments where he is very concerned.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he lands on writing a letter to serious, telling him the goings on and ends with information about his scar.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, real quick.

[SPEAKER_01]: The letter that he writes serious is me having like any sort of problem at all around like, hey, um, because like I'm anxious about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I have this problem, but like it's probably not a big deal.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, don't even worry about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you should probably just ignore me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_02]: Did I make you mad or you mad at me?

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you mad at me?

[SPEAKER_02]: So if you don't remember this is the summer of Dudley's diet and the grapefruit quarters and luckily Harry has good friends and access to wizarding mail because he gets things to eat and hide in his room.

[SPEAKER_00]: like a birthday cake that he hides under the floorboards.

[SPEAKER_00]: Story of all awards.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so on this wonderful summer morning, Harry gets a letter from Mrs.

Weasley about coming to stay with them for the Quidditch World Cup.

[SPEAKER_02]: And this letter is plastered with stamps, which makes Vernon very, very angry.

[SPEAKER_02]: And in the end, Vernon agrees to let him go mostly because serious black scares him.

[SPEAKER_02]: Rightfully so.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's on the muggle news, so he knows all about this escaped convict.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can we talk about like why Vernon is so upset about the letter though is like literally just because the mailman thought it was funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can't have anything abnormal in that house.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like he just thought it was really hilarious.

[SPEAKER_02]: Focus.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Harry packs up his things.

[SPEAKER_02]: Are you?

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, do you need some?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, you said it is funny.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's all.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tis funny.

[SPEAKER_02]: So he's going to be leaving the Dersley's very soon.

[SPEAKER_02]: He hides out in his bedroom until it's time, but then they're late.

[SPEAKER_02]: And about a half an hour goes by until finally they arrive in a way that no one was really expecting.

[SPEAKER_02]: They tried to use flu powder, but we have an electric fireplace at number four for a mid drive.

[SPEAKER_02]: And they get stuck.

[SPEAKER_02]: And Mr.

Weasley is just over the moon to hear that the fireplace is electric because the collective, like, amazing, muggle contraption.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so...

Does it have a plug?

[SPEAKER_02]: A blast there away out of the fireplace and it's just...

[SPEAKER_02]: chaos, it's debris and brick and everything and you know they're just cruising in like normal like you ready to go you get your back and Fred and George know that Dudley's on a diet they know that he is not the kindest of folks and that times are hard for him [SPEAKER_02]: And a bag of sweets accidentally spill out of Fred's pockets and Dudley just so happened to pick one up and eat it.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I have to say that is desperate because I wouldn't just pick up a random piece of candy, pop it, especially from people who my parents do not trust at all, and tell me to stay away from fear.

[SPEAKER_02]: So these tests are hard.

[SPEAKER_02]: And as we know, this is a tongue-tongued toffee, and there's a horrible gagging sound.

[SPEAKER_02]: And as Harry's leave, and he turns around, he sees a footlong, purple tongue hanging out of Dudley's mouth.

[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, we learned about Weasley Wizard Weasley.

[SPEAKER_02]: These are the trials, you guys.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is the summer of the creation of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the summer where I started not liking Molly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I was like, just let them live their lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just let them live their lives.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that was pretty dangerous, but she could have handled it differently.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, maybe being more open to them doing a supervised would have led to less chaos and strife.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is also the summer that Harry meets Bill on he thinks that he's real cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a puny tail and an earring.

[SPEAKER_00]: Man.

[SPEAKER_00]: with a dragon thing, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who's bringing it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Charlie?

[SPEAKER_00]: Come on.

[SPEAKER_00]: He probably got the dragon thing from Charlie.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's cute, everyone.

[SPEAKER_02]: Real hip.

[SPEAKER_02]: Real hip.

[SPEAKER_02]: So everyone's at the burrow this summer because this is the year that they get to go to the Quidditch World Cup.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is a time when Harry is still okay in the eyes of the ministry.

[SPEAKER_02]: They don't hate him yet.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, they like him, not yet.

[SPEAKER_02]: And what a joyous event this Quidditch World Cup turns out to be.

[SPEAKER_02]: She says was sarcasm.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Harry uses a port key for the first time in his life and learns about splinching, which comes up later on.

[SPEAKER_02]: And they attend the World Cup.

[SPEAKER_02]: They have some really fun times.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, this is not just no fun happening at all.

[SPEAKER_02]: He has a great time.

[SPEAKER_02]: We see some characters that are going to come up later on and be really important for the book.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Chrome.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they are right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, thank you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Chrome.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's an artist.

[SPEAKER_02]: So they attend the World Cup and, you know, times are good and they're hanging out in the tent after everything.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then the Death Eater show up and ruin it for everyone.

[SPEAKER_02]: The Dark Mark is in the sky as well as four muggles that are being levitated and tortured, being marched through the campsites.

[SPEAKER_02]: And this is the kind of stuff Harry learns that used to go on at the height of Voldemort's power before he fell.

[SPEAKER_02]: And when they get back, oh, I'm sorry, Harry's wand also goes missing.

[SPEAKER_02]: And Winky ends up being the one behind the dark mark in the sky and gets fired.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then gets sent to Hogwarts.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so when they get back to the burrow, Mrs.

Weasley had heard all about it from the daily profit, and she's just so happy that everybody's okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I do wonder, I just thought about this.

[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder what the clock said during the World Cup.

[SPEAKER_00]: More to wonder.

[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if it said mortal peril.

[SPEAKER_00]: Probably, because Molly was like freaking out rightfully so.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then Harry here's more mention of some heavy players in his fourth year at Hogwarts, Rita Sketer and Matt Imoody are also mentioned.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Rita.

[SPEAKER_02]: She's great.

[SPEAKER_02]: Harry Potter, age twelve.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, fourteen.

[SPEAKER_02]: He also hears about something that is going to be happening at Hogwarts this year, but no one will give him any details.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then they get to go off and spend some time there and things happen when people die.

[SPEAKER_00]: Voldemort comes back.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a really good story.

[SPEAKER_02]: But he hates Harry Potter anyways.

[SPEAKER_02]: Did he have any fun?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think if you put aside the diet and the events that happened after the great day of like the Quidditch match, I think that he had a pretty good time.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're just taking what we can get at this point, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: I'd give it a seven out of ten.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you take away the torture, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: The torture.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was all right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, sort of.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you'd like to follow us on social media, my self and Katie are on Instagram and TikTok at the Petrus family.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're helping us so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's a teacher, she shouldn't have to know.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, friends.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is just part one of our two-parter, and we would love to have you back tomorrow at Dan Smith Park during wizardly world of Kent.

[SPEAKER_01]: They just get so great.

[SPEAKER_02]: They get real good, you guys.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so that concludes this bonus episode of Swish and Flick live from over-easy at Wizardly World of Gant.

[SPEAKER_02]: Twenty-twenty-five!

[UNKNOWN]: Woo!

[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, guys.

[SPEAKER_02]: Amazing.

[SPEAKER_02]: Just with my voice.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm missing, Chuck and my mom were here so soon.
