European leaders have been in contact with their American and Ukrainian counterparts following the latest round of talks between President Trump and Ukraine's Vladimir Zelenski.

European Commissioned President Ursula Vondelin says that she and several other European leaders spoke with Zelenski and Trump for an hour after their Sunday meeting at Mari Lango.

In a social media post, she said good progress was made, but emphasized a need for Ukraine to have ironclad security guarantees from day one.

Those assurances and ninety five percent established, according to President Trump, but adds that thorny issues remain unresolved.

It's unclear exactly what the security assurances would look like and whether it would include a NATO style protection mechanism where an attack on one is considered as an attack on all.
