පරිණාමික ජෛව විද්‍යාඥයෙක් සහ සත්ව විද්‍යාඥයෙක් ලෙස ඕස්ට්‍රේලියාවේ CSIRO ආයතනයේ පර්යේෂණ කරන ආචාර්ය රුචිර සෝමවීර සමග සංවාදය. ඔහු උරගයින් (විශේෂයෙන් කිඹුලන් සහ මුහුදු සර්පයින්) පිලිබඳ විශේෂඥයෙක් වන අතර ලොව පුරා රටවල් ගණනාවක උරගයින්ගේ හැසිරීම් පිළිබඳව පර්යේෂණ කරමින් සිටියි. විද්‍යා සන්නිවේදකයෙකුද වන ආචාර්ය සෝමවීර ලෝකයේ ප්‍රමුඛම විද්‍යා නාලිකාවක් වන National Geographic නාලිකාවේ Snakes නමින් වැඩසටහනක්ද, Zootopica නමින් සතුන් පිලිබඳ සහ ලංකාවේ ගැමි ජන ජීවිතය සමග බැඳී ඇති මිථ්‍යා කතා වල සිටින සතුන්ගේ ඇත්ත නැත්ත පිලිබඳ කතා බහ කෙරෙන YouTube නාලිකාවක්ද ඉදිරිපත් කරයි. තවද ඔහුගේ ක්ෂේත්‍ර චාරිකා වලට සම්බන්ධ වී සාමාන්‍ය පුද්ගලයින්ට විවිධ රට වලට සංචාරය කිරීමේ අවස්ථාව ලබාගත හැකි සංචාරක ආයතනයක්ද ඔහු අරඹා ඇත.   

Today we talk with Dr. Ruchira Somaweera who is an evolutionary biologist at CSIRO in Australia. He is a herpetologist specialized in crocodiles and sea snakes. He is the host of the  @National Geographic series "Snakes" and contributes to many TV programs. His youtube channel @Zootopica discusses reptiles and also sheds light on myths and misconceptions about animals in Sri Lankan society. He also manages a nature expedition company "Aaranya" that enables people to join his field works carried out in many countries.
