Episode Transcript

SPEAKER_04

Welcome back.

This is you know, we we talk about this a lot, but this is the last episode of the 2025 season.

Um so if you don't get get your get your handkerchiefs ready, because we've got two actually two of my favorite tour directors tonight.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be awesome.

It's gonna be a great time.

I can't wait.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I I love these guys.

So so anyway, we'll get to them in a second.

What's what's been going on?

SPEAKER_01

Nothing much, man.

You know, just recovering from getting sick of nationals.

Uh hurt my shoulder at work, so kind of recovering on that and just getting it ready for the white rhetoric cup.

It's uh heating up and it it there's an aura around this one that's kind of different, so I can't wait.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I've got I forgot about your little Ryder Cup thing.

SPEAKER_01

Um it it's gonna be a blast.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it it is.

I I know how how excited you guys get get for that.

And it's um I I j I joke with you, but it but I it it I know it's a big deal.

It it it it builds a lot of momentum.

I mean it kind of wraps up the year, but it also builds momentum, you know, going into the next year and uh some team camaraderie for for individual tours.

Plus the you know, the the competition that you you and Gabe ha have for each other.

Um, so it's it it's a good thing.

SPEAKER_01

It's nonstop trash talking that we've been doing.

Um but it's gonna be great and I wish it was closer than than what we have to wait.

We still have to wait a little while for it to come.

Um but it's gonna be a blast, and I mean you know, we need to bring home the victory, because if not, it's gonna be kind of embarrassing.

SPEAKER_04

It's not gonna be embarrassing, just you guys are gonna be fine.

Just take just take care of business.

SPEAKER_01

Oh I mean that's that's in theory, yes.

SPEAKER_04

Put theory into practice.

That's all you gotta do.

That's all you gotta do.

Did want to let you know, um, I went to a very special place um yesterday.

Very special place.

Oh god, here you go.

Yes, it was so good.

It was so good, it was so good, it was so good.

Yes, stew subs.

Love you guys.

Um they again they well, they always treat us well, but it was it it was great.

I got to see some of the guys there, and it um obviously phenomenal, phenomenal food.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, it's always phenomenal.

You can't go wrong with with stew sub and you're just gonna rub it in for now, another year.

SPEAKER_04

But well but that that just just gotta remember, since I'm only allowed to go once a month, I mean this is my one month time, and you know I feel like it's been more than the once this month.

No, it's it's no, this is this is November now.

Gotta remember, we went back I went I went I got to go twice in October.

So once November and we're good.

SPEAKER_01

We're good.

SPEAKER_04

Well let's um we we've got two again, I I've already said this, but we've got two two of my favorite tour directors here.

Um and you know, as as we wrap up the season, both of them are are uh uh directors' cup winners, which is you know, it's that we started this last year, but we like we really do like bringing them on um and just talking to them about their their games and and national championship.

And we'll get into a couple other things, but it's it's good to talk to them and have them, you know, just just talk about themselves for a little bit, not necessarily the tour, but themselves and and things that that they've accomplished.

SPEAKER_01

For sure.

I mean it's it's gonna be a hard conversation with me because I wasn't able to defend my director's cup.

And I know we're probably gonna get the new winner on, but Yeah, we'll get him on.

SPEAKER_04

I'll get over it.

I I I will do my best to to help you out when they when we have that conversation, but you know it it'll be what it'll be.

You got your big boy pants on and and and and you'll be fine.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we'll be right.

SPEAKER_04

But let's go ahead and and bring in our our first guest from the Orlando Senior Tour, Sea Flight Directors Cup champion, Terry Lawson.

Terry, you're a staple in the show.

I you you may actually be be rivaling you know Gabe Garcia from Arizona for for most uh uh appearances.

SPEAKER_02

I'm vying for that third stage spot.

You should.

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You know I always have a spot for you.

That's great.

You you let me know when you're free, and we and we've got you.

SPEAKER_02

I'm trying to get in there.

I'm never free, buddy.

You know, I know that's the road like crazy, but yeah, whatever.

You know?

It's been fun time.

SPEAKER_04

You you're on the road now, and and I appreciate you you know make making this work, but yeah you you do so much for the tour.

Um and and you know you you do two tours, you travel all over the place.

I think every weekend that there's an event, you are playing it.

You don't take a weekend off.

Except for this year, and you had you had some some some stuff done.

Why don't you tell everybody what what what you had done and and the the uh the I guess the mental anxiety of not playing what that did to you for for a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was murder.

Well, it was murder.

Um, August 1st this year I had my left uh no, I'm sorry, and my right knee replaced.

And then I played in the beginning of September, and then no, I think like the 17th and 18th or something, we had tournament and I played in those, and then the 19th of September I had my left knee replaced, and then I played um in the head of the hilt in October, played the uh practice round on Tuesday or Wednesday, and then played Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Saturday, Sunday, whatever it was for the cough week.

And then I don't I couldn't play after that, and then and I waited all the way until seniors and I played again.

So luckily I had a great surgeon.

Luckily, I had a great have a intim you know her.

My wife is she was such a great nurse, she was strict, she made me adhere to the the PT and the medicine on the ice and the blah blah blah and blah blah blah.

But you know, she sped up my recovery, it was cool, it was awesome.

And uh now I'm almost 100% on both legs.

SPEAKER_04

Now, now we won't tell anybody, but uh I I need to know did did your surgeon know that you were playing golf so quick?

SPEAKER_02

Um no, but my physical therapist actually was like, you know, we really we really don't recommend that you guys get what I don't know won't hurt me.

And my surgeon, you know, he's he's a younger guy, he's ex-military, so he's kind of you know right down the middle.

And right when I got back and I go, well, this is what I've been doing, and he's like, Yeah, well, that's why your incision is torn open, your stitches are torn out, and your leg is swollen up.

But yeah, hey, you know what?

That's uh gotta make your own, you gotta fight your own fights.

SPEAKER_04

So Doc, I I woke up and money was like this.

I don't I I don't know what happened.

SPEAKER_02

It was murder, and then I got sick as hell at Nationals too, so now I'm walking around with snot running down my face and dragging around a left leg that feels like it got ran over by a tractor.

But you know, that's at least I have an excuse for my crappy scores.

SPEAKER_04

Wow, they they could they they they weren't too crappy.

I mean you you won the director's cup and had to hang on.

SPEAKER_02

I had to hang on.

I mentally was gone um the second day at seniors.

I got the I got the yips around the green.

It didn't matter if I was chipping or putting, I couldn't do either, and uh my uh mental mental game went to hell fast on the second day.

Well, I was in the money until I swiped at like two putts on the last green because I was just over the top at that point.

SPEAKER_04

That's forgivable.

SPEAKER_02

It is, but you know, well they say golf is uh 10% um 10% ability and 99% men for something something like that.

SPEAKER_04

But you yeah, you gotta have to have some some mental ability to begin with, though, right?

SPEAKER_02

I was a midget.

I was a midget.

The whole time I was up there, I knew I had a lot going on with work, still trying to, you know, work and limp around and sick as a dog, but man, I'll tell you, I wasn't traded for nothing.

My here's the bottom line.

I won the Director's Cup.

I was super excited about it.

There was nothing more exciting to me at Nationals than Dennis calling the Orlando tour up there for the biggest senior tour ever in the history of of uh Orlando.

That was the award that I was proud of.

SPEAKER_04

Well and and that that's that's that's also saying something, you know, knowing who you who you took over and replaced and and and the history that was there.

And yeah.

And I you know, I like I I opened it up and said you do so much for the tour, and that that's just one example of it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, I tell my guys I'll trade a national championship for a team cup every time.

I would I'll and that's my goal.

That's my goal every year when I show up, whether it's South Florida and Cough Week, now Orlando and seniors, that's the one I want.

That's the one I want because I want to see our ugly mug on all the game cups for the whole next year.

That's a big deal.

And then after, you know, we rent two, two gigantic houses in Hilton Head when we're there.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

They have a common area in the middle and a big fire pit and blah blah blah.

So we rented both of them, and we had players, you know, in both houses full, and I got to spend some time other than at the golf course with some of my members.

And I find out what amazing men and women that are on my tour.

I mean, I'm so proud to be friends with them, I'm so proud to call them friends.

I mean, some of the accomplishments, some of the mountains that they climb daily, brother.

You know, there's some great people on our tour.

There's some heroes, there's some heroes.

And I'm not talking about military heroes, first responder heroes, whatever.

I'm talking about straight up every day.

Slap your mama in the mouth, heroes.

Unbelievable.

Unbelievable.

I mean, unbelievable.

I'm so blessed to be part of this and be friends and call some of these guys my friends.

Makes me a little emotional.

You know, I'm an emotional guy, but for sure.

Amazing.

SPEAKER_04

And that's what one of the things that National Championship Week does is it it allows you to be able to spend, you know, as a tour director, it allows you to be able to spend some of that time and get to know the guys a little bit better, as opposed to, you know, on a regular tournament day, even two-day, I mean, you you're you're so busy doing some so many other things.

Yeah, you may get to think out a little bit and and chit-chat, but you know, at national championship, you get to actually spend some time with people.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

Unbelievable.

I mean, I'll tell you the story one day, and next time I see you guys, I'll tell you the story because it's very, very close to my heart.

But just in general, getting to know some of these guys, getting to know some of their quirks, you know, getting to know some of their hearts.

It's incredible.

And one of the players brought a full golf simulator to the houses.

We had a full golf simulator set up in the middle of these houses.

A$10,000 golf simulator that we're hitting into it while we're having a barbecue.

SPEAKER_01

All right.

SPEAKER_02

Unbelievable.

Chris, you better step it up, brother.

SPEAKER_04

You you gotta get busy.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know about you, but I don't think we got an invitation to that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's a standing invitation.

It's a cookout that we shit, Mark and I spend six, seven hundred dollars on stuff for every year.

We just let it go.

We let it go.

SPEAKER_01

It's funny.

We we met I think ours got lost in the pigeon mail.

SPEAKER_02

There you go.

Well, I don't know.

I was sitting there with a headset on.

I don't know if I told you guys to come there or not, but I have told people, I know I told Tim in the past to come there, but he's hobnobbing with all you fancy guys tasting whiskey.

SPEAKER_04

Part of the problem is is it's it's not really a problem.

I I I definitely enjoy w what what I do is you know, we we're just pulled in so many different directions.

Um Right, sure.

SPEAKER_02

And it's every time very many.

SPEAKER_04

And it's you know I wouldn't say it's hard.

It's it it it's hard to to c commit to doing something when when you just don't know what's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_02

Uh it's humble too the CR.

So many people try to include you in their events, you know.

We get invited to to Shane's um dinner with his members.

Armin invites us over, you know, for drinks with his with his members.

So you gotta you guys have to be careful um in the next few years because um Florida directors are building our own mafia, and we're gonna we're gonna start showing up there with some power.

We're gonna start showing it there.

Dude, I'm gonna like we're gonna bring it.

Yeah, we're gonna bring it.

We've been talking about it, Armin, um, Brandon, you know, everybody.

We've been we're building a mafia.

We're coming.

You know, Bernie and I and the seniors, we already have a mafia, but we're coming with a golf week mafia to blow some people out of the water in the next couple years.

SPEAKER_04

We you you just meant mentioned Brandon and and you know he he also won the Director's Cup and we're gonna get him one.

Um, but uh the day that we're recording this is uh his uh anniversary.

So let's just let him know.

SPEAKER_02

He's a hell of a guy, man.

He's a hell of a guy.

He's got a heart like a freaking you know, gigantic.

He's a great guy.

SPEAKER_04

And he cares.

I mean that's you know, that's that's the the other piece of it, right?

I mean he w when you have tour directors like that that that actually care and want want to do want to get better, want to do more, want to do more, want to do more, and so really for for the players, it it shows.

And and you're right, he got he's actually one of those.

SPEAKER_02

He probably goes in the pocket like I do, you know.

That's just what we do, you know.

If I was doing this to make a living, that would uh I'd be worried about my snap benefits right now.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

See what happens?

So you know.

We're not trying to make a living off of this.

We're just trying to make some friends, we're trying to have some fun.

And and it is.

SPEAKER_04

It's a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, give it all back.

We give it all back, we'll build a monster, and that's the way I look at it.

And uh we're on our way.

We're on our way.

We struggle a little bit with the golf week side, only because you know, our demographics are a little older than most states, so it's tough for us to draw in the younger guys on the golf week side.

And uh, we've proven obviously the 15 over crowd of Florida, you know, that are arriving daily here in the last few weeks.

Um They're strong.

Yeah, they're strong.

They're coming in hot too right now, but it's cold.

It's really cold here, actually.

SPEAKER_04

How cold is there?

Because I I woke up to 33 degrees today.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I woke up this morning.

I remember I'm in north central Florida working this week, but it was 36 degrees, and uh I I tried to call out.

I'm not I don't normally go outside unless it's 50 plus degrees and 60 really.

SPEAKER_01

So nothing all right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but next uh tomorrow uh we're headed to South Florida, so we'll warm up by 25 degrees, so we'll be good.

But 35 is I don't even have a coat for 35.

I don't even know what to do for 35.

SPEAKER_04

Stay inside.

SPEAKER_02

Crying.

Start crying.

I wake up, I'm crying, I'm brushing my teeth, I'm crying, I don't want to go.

You know, just one of them things.

SPEAKER_04

Does your truck have that automatic start?

SPEAKER_02

It does, but that doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter.

It's you've got to go to the truck.

So I mean you could die.

You could die.

I swore I saw a snowflur in uh, you know, when I was working in South Carolina, I told you that one time last winter when they had a little snow up there.

I got in my truck and all that as soon as the first flake floated down, and everybody's like, What are you doing?

I'm like, uh seeing this is over.

I was like, Yeah.

Went to Florida.

Exactly.

All right, how quick along by the first.

SPEAKER_04

Well, Terry, you you you did something that that Chris did for the first time that I never got got to to to see.

But you also got a national championship out of seniors.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That was so cool.

So proud of Shep.

He worked so hard this year.

Yeah.

He uh you know, he doesn't have a whole lot of motion, but he just walked up to me.

He's like, my bad, huh?

Went out there and picked it up, and I was all jumping up and down and all fired up and uh first year, you know, for the first year of the seniors and pull a national champion out of it.

I also had uh a first year player, great guy named Sean, who came on a B flight and turned it on on the second day and went all the way to fourth place.

I had a seventh place finisher in B flight.

I mean, my guys That's awesome.

They came to play, man.

They came to play, you know.

If Mark would have been there, he would have competed, you know, very well.

In his flight, he had to leave because his daughter was getting married on the first day of uh national.

SPEAKER_04

So well they gotta coordinate the schedule a bit better.

SPEAKER_02

I told him that.

I think, you know what, you don't have to go.

You just own the helmet, put it on their phone, you can whatever.

Teams call, you can watch it, blah, blah, blah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, priorities, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

Well, he uh he's still happily married, so this is all I can say.

He went home.

Deep downside, we all know that's right, right thing is.

That's right, that's right.

Yeah.

We don't have to admit it, but I mean we can you know, we can do hand signals.

SPEAKER_04

Exactly.

Exactly.

So so what are you looking forward to for for next for next year?

SPEAKER_02

I'm on a mission, and I don't know if I can pull it off.

I've been a C flight player my whole golf week.

I went to B flight one time years ago.

I want to be a single digit.

I've hired actually a PEX PGA golfer off of the tour as my coach, and I'm on a mission to get under 10 with my handicap for next season.

I might take my S whippins, but I'm gonna start in a D-flight and try to stay there and ultimately senior A-flight is my big goal.

I don't think I'll ever make that, but you know, I'm getting older, but breaking me down.

I've already been spent uh two days, two whole days with him, and then I'm gonna continue that.

So Okay.

Little golf camp for me this winter.

Try to give some speed, a little distance, and uh get rid of the effing yips.

Chipping yips, those really suck.

Those really suck.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think you I've had to.

SPEAKER_02

He's got me going on it, though.

I mean, this guy's freaking like I said, he played on PJ tour.

He's uh amazing coach, and uh I'm gonna invest in it.

My wife gave it to me for a birthday present, and so there we go.

Is he the one that won the um senior regional at uh uh Well, no, no, that isn't no, it isn't um this guy's named Steve Lamontane, he's a Florida Gator.

Okay, he played on the PPA tour back in the uh early eighties for several seasons.

Okay and successfully, and then he became uh club pro here at a real uh prestige club here in town, and he stepped away from that and went to work uh with a friend of his who's a GM of a of a very nice um public course there in town.

And uh I stumbled on him when we had turned there last year, and we have you know, we we have the small town mentality here, even though we're a big big city, you know, people that have been around in a long time, we know each other, we know each other's friends, blah, blah, blah.

So we built this really cool relationship.

And uh He got me on film and he's like, Well, I feel like we can do it if you put the work in, you know.

SPEAKER_04

So Well that's that's always the thing, too.

You got you gotta be.

SPEAKER_02

But that'll be the big that'll be the only issue because well, you know, and plus the fact that I'm a head case, you know.

I'll go back to the old swing as soon as I have one bad one at the new one, and uh I've got a eh, whatever, you know.

Ba blah blah blah blah.

Squirrel, squirrel, squirrel.

Ah, Andrew, that's nice and so told you I'd do that at National, I'd do it everywhere.

I'll be playing golf, and next thing you know, I'm over there.

Look, man, that's a really cool house in the house.

Cool, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Look at that.

Everybody's like, what are you doing?

Did you see that six to seven Mustang go by?

And you know, that's the end of it.

SPEAKER_04

So But if you if it keeps your mind off of thinking too much.

SPEAKER_02

Nothing keeps my mind off of too much.

That's the problem.

Okay, well, we'll especially with a golf club in my hand.

Forget it.

SPEAKER_04

Well, we're gonna see you at Icebreaker.

Thank you so much.

We gotta be an icebreaker?

SPEAKER_02

Ice fine words.

Um I I've been off a lot of work, man, than Hagla.

So you might be leaning on me a little hard.

I mean, I've been off for I was off for three whole months.

So that doesn't go down that well in my business, so um, they lean on me pretty hard at my company.

I, you know, I I got a pretty decent role, you know, that one I had in South Carolina, so right.

Oh.

Unfortunately, I guess I'll let keep an electric bill make that decision for me this year if I get to come to icebreaker.

I did get second in that thing last year in the golf league.

So I still have a hill to climb.

But I might have to resort to playing left-handed after these lessons.

I don't know what's coming.

SPEAKER_04

No, no, you're gonna you're gonna be fine.

SPEAKER_02

I hope so.

SPEAKER_04

You're gonna be fine.

SPEAKER_02

That's not yet.

Not yet.

I can tell you that much.

After after eight hours, uh after eight hours, four hours, and four hours.

So you know, I feel like yeah.

Hitting it with a broom.

So there you go.

SPEAKER_04

You will definitely get it back.

I think I'm confident that.

SPEAKER_02

I love it.

You know, it doesn't matter if I don't get it back if I don't get to go up to the next fight, if my handicap doesn't go down.

I mean, I'm a golf freak, but I'm really, really, really want to be a single digit.

That's my goal.

So let's see if I can knock five strokes off my handicap.

It's gonna be.

Yeah, it's doable.

All right, but we bought the little small, you know, simulator, the little one, and um we'll see.

We'll see.

Oh, we bought a new putter and we changed the putty script and we changed her putting stroke.

SPEAKER_01

So done everything.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly.

Well, yeah, now I'm all the way up to Lydia Three, which is the name of my putter is Lydia, and now I'm on Lydia Three.

So we'll see what happens.

Let's go, Lydia.

That's what you'll hear me saying out there.

SPEAKER_04

All right, my friend.

Thank you so much for spending some time with us.

Terry, I I I I could talk to you all day, every day.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sorry, I I get long-winded.

I'm excited to go out when I see you guys.

So it's a good time.

I was gonna get to talk to people about work all day long, so it's kind of nice when I don't have to.

So I understand.

I appreciate you guys, man.

Um, happy holidays.

Enjoy your uh holidays.

I'll see you in January.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

Take care, guys.

SPEAKER_04

Take take care of some some of the best to your better half.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, no, I will.

Same for you, same to you.

SPEAKER_01

All right, brother.

SPEAKER_04

Let's take a break from the show to hear about Strixon's ZX Mark II drivers.

SPEAKER_00

ZX Mark II drivers are for major players, major winners, major power.

All new ZX Mark II drivers only from Strixon.

SPEAKER_04

Chris, I I love having uh Terry on.

He always has good stories, and you know, like I said, he he does so much for the tour.

Uh he travels all over the place.

Literally, he's he he spends almost three-quarters of his life in in his car.

SPEAKER_01

You know, traveling.

What it seems like you can't complain, you know, playing golf.

You're working and you're playing golf, so can't really complain about that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and and I I knew, you know, we we I talked to him earlier in the year, and I knew he was having one of his knees done.

I didn't realize he was gonna have both of them done until after he after he did it.

And to be able to play as much as he played and when he had them done, um God bless him, man.

God bless him.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_01

I it's a trooper, and I mean it sounds like you know, the preparation, getting ready for that was was ideal.

Um and to be able to do what he was able to do is awesome.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And to play as much as he played.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

I mean, and and you know, nationals everybody tries to prepare two, three, four weeks in advance to get ready, and and I mean I would say maybe it's a handful of people that might have surgery right before or something major that happens, so um it's a different mindset when you're at that point knowing how hard you you work to be able to just compete.

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

True.

But good for him.

I mean, like you said earlier, you know, the two guests here, um I don't want to say unfortunately, that's probably the wrong word, but we have to limit them to amount how much time we can have with them because uh this would be a three-hour episode.

But uh, I mean we we had, you know, previous guests and our next guest, um, who's also a great guy, works his butt off on and off the course.

Um and Tim, I'm I'm telling you now, maybe joining his regional this year.

Um just FYI, I know we talked about it before, but uh from Kansas himself, Mr.

David Keene.

It's always good to be uh be on with you guys and talk off.

SPEAKER_04

Dan, uh first off, congratulations on winning the directors cup.

And you know, we we had a little conversation at the director's meeting.

Um, I I always love having you on.

You're you're number one, you you're a fun guy, you're fun to talk to, you care deeply about the tour, you want it everything to get better, and you care about your players, and that's really what we look for in in tour rectors.

So I I can't thank you enough for everything you do for a tour.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, thank you.

Thank you guys for what you do for it as well with the uh podcast, and it's coming along great, and it's always fun to be on as well, and always fun to talk golf.

But yeah, I always uh tell our players just trying to get everybody and be able to compete with the game of golf we love, and uh if everybody's just on the same page and uh go at it, and it's it's just a great time.

SPEAKER_04

Well, let's talk about the directors' chap before we get into anything else.

Um what's that like for you knowing that of all the tour directors, there's only five, you know, five of them of you, and and you've got that for for the year, and now you know you could have a uh a target on your back with the other tour directors.

SPEAKER_03

No, yeah, no, well, I'm all about competition, especially like I said, we can compete uh as bogey golfers.

Um, I forgot, I actually didn't even I forgot there was a director's cup.

I can't remember when that even started.

Was it just last year or a couple years ago?

I don't even know because I'm never in it.

I guess that's why I don't really pay attention to it.

I'm usually, you know, down in the bottom quarter of the uh flight, but it was great to uh just to see after day one having a great round of 87 and to uh be in the lead with that, and even be in the lead group in the sea flight, and then day two slipped within uh 94, so made it interesting.

And uh there were a couple of them that got close, I think.

So it was fun, and it's it was just awesome.

It's Good to uh look forward to next year to to to uh try to repeat with that.

Maybe have a little some fun smack talk.

SPEAKER_04

Let me ask you the question.

Last year you got a hole in one.

This year you won the director's cup.

So which was a more successful tournament for you?

SPEAKER_03

Um, man, that's a tough one because uh last year when I left the house, I missed the last step, going to the front door about five in the morning and uh fell into a table, knocked the wind out of me, it hurt like heck, and um ended up getting out the nationals.

We played five rounds and choosed the day two days before.

And then um the last day I went in and uh was the uh two holes to go.

I had never had a skin at nationals, first of all.

Um, and in that round, I I was on the hardest part four, 400 and some yards.

I think I've probably told this story maybe out here before, I feel like.

But anyhow, uh got a birdie there, was up for a skin.

It held up until about four or five holes to go, and then my name got erased, and then uh two holes to go, uh part three, knocked down a hole in one, and that got me back up for a$600 skin, and then drove back home and uh had the knee replacement that Wednesday, but had to get an X-ray, and they said I had an eighth and tenth cracked rib uh to go with it.

So that that was tough to beat, but I mean it was honestly a great feeling to I mean that feeling I had going to the T-Box on day two to be in the lead group of the C flight was was it was up there with the hole in one, I'll say that.

It was it was fun, it was a good nervous feeling, and uh, you know, it was just it was great.

And to finish in the top 20, uh with uh, you know, shooting uh what I think I was a you know plus I don't even remember, but this year that it was just awesome because you know, to be able to shoot a 273, I think it was a plus, yeah, uh 273 was my total.

So uh it was an 87, 94, 92.

And to do that, to be able to be in the top 20, I mean, there's so many guys out there that can do that, um, and and be right there.

And then for me, in my situation, just like everybody, you shoot five strokes better in my case over three rounds, and you think how many shots we you know jack up, uh, but just five shots gets me in the top 10.

So that's what we're uh looking forward to next year already.

SPEAKER_04

Again, that that's awesome.

And I didn't know you did not know that you had some cracked ribs as as well last year.

SPEAKER_03

So that oh my god, that was not comfortable.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And you had a drive home?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

What's that?

You drove?

Well yeah.

Yep.

And drove both ways, yes, sir.

How far is it?

Yeah, just like this year.

Uh it's about uh 17, 16, 17 hours straight through.

Which I made it well, I left it 12 30 this year and pulled in uh Hilton Head about 5 30 in the morning or something like that.

Made it to a 10 o'clock tea time and was good to go for my 95 and it was good to go.

SPEAKER_04

Oh man, that's awesome.

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

So fun.

SPEAKER_04

So when when when I was touching base with you the other day, uh, I I asked Jen to touch base with Nicole and say, ask Nicole if she's gonna be able to help you, you know, get get you logged on or not.

She she fly back real quick, said, Nope, he's on his own.

We don't live near each other anymore.

SPEAKER_03

So he's on his own.

Yeah, and they call that I can't can't say enough with her.

I mean, I I kind of started the first couple years was messing, you know, trying to do the admin stuff a little bit.

She does it so much better, so much cleaner, and uh it's just less for me to have to worry about when I'm trying to play in a tournament.

So she uh I can't even, you know, can't give her enough props for uh being the uh person behind the scenes that's helping keep everything in trick check, you know, all the skins money.

She's got that stuff, you know, boom, and envelopes and repped to go to whoever it is.

And uh it's it's good.

It is um amazing, actually.

And the trofe she does a lot of the trophies that we pick out, and uh yeah, I mean, we've had some cool trophies or uh start off a season with the players tournament in March and next year, and she'll we'll have a tournament that's somewhat similar to uh the players, and uh that's our highest paying tournament to try to kind of mirror the PGA in a way, and then we go into the Masters, which will be out at uh Topeka, Kansas, at uh Fire Keeper, which they've had some, they had the uh I believe a uh qualifier for the U.S.

Open the week after we played it this year, so we picked a rough week to uh try to play there.

Wow.

Wow, wow.

SPEAKER_04

So do you have your your whole schedule done?

SPEAKER_03

No, um we've got I think seven, seven locked in, uh, I believe at this time, and uh seven tournaments, and we usually have we'll we'll lighten it up from last year.

We were a little heavy, I th you know, thought.

So, but it'll be good.

Uh we'll have it, have it ready to go.

Uh probably where are we at?

Usually first part of December, we've got pretty much most of it ready to go.

Sometimes it's tough getting getting some of the courses, getting the courses getting back to you and uh getting in getting in sync together.

Yeah, we're gonna go down towards the wiki call area this year, try to bring in some of the old members because that's where the tour originated was out of Wichita.

Um, and uh we're gonna we've we've you know we've had a couple tournaments down there, but got a new sponsor down there with sliced golf, uh Chris Antoya, who came out to Nationals this year.

Uh he's in the A, or uh I think he's in the A flights.

So yeah, yeah, he's a heck of a golfer.

So uh, you know, he's getting some uh some of the old members have come back from down there.

So we'll uh we'll have a major down in Wichita this year, and uh we'll have you know, we just kind of spread it out within uh between here and Kansas City and down even towards the Ozarks.

So got a uh a major down at the Ozarks with uh Osage National this year.

SPEAKER_04

That's awesome.

Well, what's the favorite course, the the guy's favorite course they like to play every year?

SPEAKER_03

Um we always uh I would say just some of the regular public sycamore is always a good one.

Um, but some of our uh regular courses here are public courses in Kansas City that are good turnouts or you know, it can be like Stone Canyon, which is a Greg Norman course.

Um so yeah, and uh I believe Winterstone.

Uh there's several nice public courses here in Kansas City.

They're redoing uh Swope Memorial, an old-time course.

They've been renovating it this past year, and it'll be open this year.

So we're hoping to uh to get back on there.

Awesome.

SPEAKER_04

And and you you run the the uh the Midwest regional uh out out at uh Branson, right?

SPEAKER_03

Down at Branson.

Um I help with Dennis.

Uh he's been you know kind of controlling that, but um, I definitely uh pitch in with Nicole as well.

Nicole's a big part of that, but that's yeah, we're we're pitching in with that one now.

And uh it's always a great event at Buffalo Ridge and uh Zark National, and it's uh always a good time down there, which is probably my biggest win um being a regional winner as a sea flight a few years ago.

A couple yeah, that was big.

So those uh those regionals are always fun.

We get out to a few, you'd like to get out to one of Chris, you know, out one out west uh this year.

SPEAKER_01

Do you haven't come to my tour yet?

I don't know what where you want out west.

You haven't come to my tour.

SPEAKER_03

No, right.

I need to get down, get around.

I like I like getting to other tours.

It's it's so much fun.

We'll always go over to St.

Louis and jump on one of their uh tournaments.

That's not that's my west.

That's not that's not far, but we'll get out there.

SPEAKER_01

Come to the desert.

Come up.

SPEAKER_03

I'm heading out to Vegas Sunday.

Uh my son, his girlfriend, has uh got us a trip for uh to a Billy Horschel uh clinic at the uh PGA Summerlin.

Uh that'll be Monday, so you get a chance to play a hole with him.

Uh so we're gonna play some more Sunday when we fly in.

Monday will be the clinic, and then we'll get out of there Tuesday so we don't lose or lose too much money.

Well, you you can you can lose it all on Sunday if you want.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I've seen it.

At least that's true.

Chris, how far do you think it is from El Paso to K to too far?

SPEAKER_01

Too far too far to drive, yeah.

Matt Jensen does it all the time from Kansas to Arizona.

I don't know why he does that, but he does it all the time, but nah, I mean I love driving.

Um I I'd probably make the drive if I had to myself, but it's just maybe a day, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Jensen's a he's a he's a warrior.

He uh, you know, the player of the year that I have, he I don't I didn't figure out the points, but he probably could have had a chance of winning that this year if he was a two uh member of the Kansas Tour.

So I may need to look at that and uh let anybody qualify for that, maybe.

I don't know, but um he he's a warrior going to uh he lives uh I believe in you know western Kansas, so it's uh it's a jump for him whether he goes to the Arizona Tour and uh or over here at Orange.

But he still comes to a lot of the tournaments and uh he's he's awesome.

He goes to the nationals every year as well.

And yep.

SPEAKER_01

I think he was third at the the Midwest Regional.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and I believe didn't he win a regional out uh West year maybe?

I gosh, I can't remember.

SPEAKER_01

I thought he had a lot the California regional.

Yeah, yeah.

I think that flight had like four people though, so we don't we don't call it a a win.

SPEAKER_03

That's what's what I'll go around and talk to.

My guys will go into a place or a restaurant where during a major or in having a bite to eat, and I'll go in and say Dave King, one of the top sea flight players in the state of Missouri.

SPEAKER_04

So have fun will say that one of the things that you do that I really love is it's all the different competitions that that you have out there.

I mean, the the the par four challenge, a long drive, the the the uh rural challenge at player of the year.

I mean, again, that's just you providing a lot of value and a lot of extra ways for people to get involved.

Uh how do you yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, we've got a great camaraderie, and it's just a good way to have some good fun smack talk with everybody, and just that fun competitiveness uh throughout the year.

Um, to give you an example.

I mean, for player of the year this year, shout out to Matt Thorman.

He started out in the A flight, moved up to the champ flight, ended up being player of the year.

He was in fifth or sixth place uh uh going into the uh last tournament at drum and and won it.

Um, and you know, that shot him up to the to winning the player of the year.

So he had a great year.

Um it's it that that player of the year has come down to that final tournament every year with a good six, eight people, you know, uh, with a shot at winning the player of the year.

But that's that's a big one.

Uh of course, winning your flight, that's the biggest you know, money payout uh that we have, or you know, for each one.

Um, but then we also had, like you said, the Royal Challenge, most birdies in your flight, and the long drive to mention that, and the sea flight.

Uh, I was uh it's been this one other year where I had three going into the finals, uh, and then uh we had Dylan Mills, who had four.

Um, I won Saturday, the day one, so that got us at 4-4 on the season, and then uh day two, neither one of us won.

And it came down to where we went back to hole 18.

We flip a coin, the other guy goes, stands, and turns around the other way while the first guy does their drive, and then the other guy does.

And uh he didn't keep his in the fairway, so I got him this year.

But um, I've given away the sim two drivers, uh, sim two drivers for the winner of that each one year, and uh Scotty Cameron putters gave away some Scotty Cameron putters another year, and uh, but this year it was just some money, but yeah, so it's it's just I just like the competition, uh, just uh getting it among people like me and anyone that can three putt from four feet, so you know makes it it makes it a little more pressure, just a little more stuff going on, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Are you gonna add anything new for uh 2026?

SPEAKER_03

I was just talking to Nicole about that.

Um, you know, we've got quite a bit of things going on, so um, I don't I don't know as far as I know we're gonna have a new uh well a major down at the Ozarks with Osage National, um, I believe, and uh, and uh and one other course there uh that'll be close by.

But um as far as competitions or you know, awards and stuff, I don't uh you know, I haven't really got anything new going on with that.

Like I said, we've got quite a few.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's awesome.

I mean, again there's so many different opportunities for for for people to win stuff, right?

I mean it's yeah.

SPEAKER_03

No, that's what I'd love to see.

Like we've got some women.

Go ahead.

Sorry.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so like you you could you could finish um let's just say top ten every tournament.

Never never win tournament and still win player of the year if you show up every minute.

SPEAKER_03

You know, um if you you can still win your flight on ours, player of the year is a situation where you have to win a tournament to earn points.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, you gotta okay.

All right, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But it goes on tournament win, second place win.

Uh second place gets you a little bit, but that's mainly the and then depending on how many people's in your flight.

If you've only got three people, you get like 60% of the points or 40%, whatever it is.

So that kind of deal.

SPEAKER_04

Again, it's it's still, you know, you show up you and you have a chance.

SPEAKER_03

No, bro, yeah, I've got a few uh right, yeah.

Yeah, Kelly Barton and the whim, uh, for the women, the D flight, or Julie Kruger, uh Kathy Hafner, and all of them, they'll come in.

And uh, you know, Kelly may not finish, or you know, Kevin Mel Kelly may not finish in the you know top three or whatever, but she picked up um you know one or one of the par three challenges one time with the skin and you know just gets gets that extra money and just something to you know keep you keep you going and makes you it's a good feel.

So yeah, it's always good to see all those players.

I'd love to see different players coming down the stretch, getting into that feeling of knowing they're in the leaderboard.

A lot of them, you know, are saying, hey, we don't look at the leaderboard, it don't look at the leaderboard, you know, but I'm sure a lot of them know when they're up there.

So it's just a great feeling when you can uh get different players to uh be able to compete.

That's why I'm always trying to get my players in the their right, you know, correct flight, which I know it can be challenging sometimes.

There's always the borderline players, but it it makes it uh it's a great time where you can see everybody get up there and have that chance.

SPEAKER_04

Exact, exactly.

Uh well David, thank you so much for spending some time with us tonight.

I appreciate it.

Congratulations, and and hopefully, you know, we'll we'll we'll see you throughout the year.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, sir.

Thank you guys.

SPEAKER_04

Let's take a break from the show to hear about Trickston's ZX Mark II Irons.

SPEAKER_00

A great iron set needs more than good luck.

It's gotta be fast and gotta be pure.

But good looks never hurt either.

The all-new ZX Mark II Irons from Strickston.

SPEAKER_01

Kim, one of the I mean, what can you say?

David's uh his own guy, but uh it's always great to talk to him, and I mean he always has stories to tell.

Um runs a great tour.

I mean, his side game action out there is like the MGM in Vegas.

You just walk in there, you can pick a table and play.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but he he he's one of my favorite favorite tour directors, just from the perspective of he's a fun guy.

You never know what's gonna what he's gonna say.

Ever.

You never know what he's gonna say, but he's he's fun, he means well, he cares about the tour, he he wants the tour to do well, and and that's we're not even talking about like the side games.

I mean, because I I I love what he I love what he does with the side games, but I I don't know how he keeps up with all that stuff.

Or I'm sorry, Nicole keeps up with that stuff.

Right, right, right, right.

Right.

So Nicole, you are Saint.

And David loves you.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, something like that.

Because I mean I have I've taken a couple of side games that he has, and it's a lot of work.

You know, it's a lot of work, but uh the guys like it.

The players like it.

SPEAKER_04

But take a par four thing as as a for example.

I know it it I'm sure it's once you once you have that system down, it's simple, right?

I mean, you just put all the all the people that are in it, you just put the score they get, and then you you you run a query at at the end of the year, you know, the the four or five best scores.

I think it's what whatever it is, maybe it's eight best scores.

I forgot I forget what you said, but um and then it does it does it for you.

But just the the whole process of who's in, who's out, who's here this week, who's not here this week.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

You know, that that to me would you know who's changed the flight, who hasn't.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, the flight changed.

Thanks for bringing that up, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

See, if I if I was gonna do that, I'd give that to Jen, and then we wouldn't be doing that anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

Right, right.

I mean it I tell my guys the the updated scores will be up forty-eight to seventy-two hours.

So give me some time because I want to get home and rest here.

SPEAKER_04

Exactly.

Exactly.

But uh again, fun guy, congratulations to him winning uh the directors' cup.

And I I again I I said this either before we interviewed Terry or or after, I can't remember which.

Uh but I love this time of year in interviewing the the directors who who win uh the Tour Directors Cup because it's it's really it gives them some time to talk about them and gives it gives them some congratulations for for a pretty big accomplishment.

So congratulations to them and you know, and and in some of the coming episodes, obviously we're gonna talk to more of them.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

I mean it as being the inaugural B Flight Directors Cup champ.

Um, it is it is cool to talk about it.

And and you know, showing up the next year and and being able to to defend it or hope to defend it is is really cool.

I mean, you you you always hope to be uh atop that leaderboard every year, but uh has a little bit a little bit more meaning when you're able to brag about it.

Uh all year long, especially with my my Arizona sister tour, because uh better believe I I mentioned it numerous times.

SPEAKER_04

Well, and and look at what Terry did.

I mean, with the two knee replacements, he's only one of two people that that were repeat champions.

Um, you know, uh Salah from uh Central Carolina uh be being the other one.

That that's a that's a pretty solid accomplishment.

He even though Terry kind you know kind of downplayed how he played a little bit, but you know, think about that.

Two knee replacements in two months and was playing golf before he was supposed to be playing golf and came out with with with the win there.

That's that's solid.

SPEAKER_01

You know how it is, golfers aren't gonna wait till everybody's ready, they're gonna try and get out there as quickly as possible.

SPEAKER_04

As quickly as possible.

Exactly.

So that's that.

Um we got registration for uh 2026 is next week.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So so I hope you had your rest.

Uh the season's getting ready to start.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm not ready.

I said that last year.

I said I told myself last year I'd be ready, I'm not ready, but I'm excited.

I think uh a lot of tours around the country have built a lot of good momentum uh from this previous year, and and I just think you know the sky's the limit for all of us.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it really is.

Um and you know this is the time of year where people do get their rest, but I don't know if you've seen some of the other momentum that's going on around and if you've been paying attention to Facebook page at all.

Uh you know, d w we know Lyle does a good job at everything he does.

Right.

They they just a couple weeks ago they they just did a a four-tour rider cup.

You know, with it was uh uh Tidewater, Richmond, DC, and eastern North Carolina.

That's 120 guys together for four different tours.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_04

You know, that'd be fun.

Get getting together all season to just uh to get together and play and and and play for a cup.

That's pretty awesome.

Um you you got yours coming up in a couple weeks, you're you're the first week first weekend of December?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, first weekend of December.

SPEAKER_04

And I and I know there's others going on.

Um so you know, if if you're listening and your tour had has a rider cup at this time of year, and you didn't make the team, work for that for next year.

And if you're on a tour that doesn't have a rider cup, instead of maybe just telling the tour director you uh to have one, offer to help.

Say, look, I I I because it it's a it's a pretty big commitment.

Say, look, you know, whatever you if if you want to do it, I'd be happy to help you put in and put these things together because what a rider cup can do to for a tour from a morale perspective and and really bringing guys together is incredible, and and you can really speak to that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it is.

It it you you said it correctly, it is a lot of work.

Um it takes a lot of collaboration between both tour directors, or in Lau's case, all four.

Um, but they are a lot of fun.

If you don't have one, um get in contact with me if you want to come down to El Paso.

We can definitely make it work or try to make it work.

Um, but yeah, it's just it's one of those things where um you see it on TV and you see the excitement, but being able to be in one is just a whole new level.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, if I remember correctly, was it Lyle that you Lyle and and Sean you were talking talking about doing a a four-teamer with with the Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They they wanted to say they kept saying that they were the better of the two, and and I threw Gabe under the bus and um Gabe, you're you're in charge of this.

Well, no, no.

I I mean I told him later, hey, this is what we're doing.

He goes, tell me when, where, and how how many people we need to bring.

That's awesome.

Uh all right, let's go.

So uh challenge is still out there.

You all want to come down and and and talk.

Let's let's go.

Let's let's put the the the talking on the course and uh present the the new belt at the director's meeting.

That'd be interesting.

SPEAKER_04

That would be, but let me let me talk about Richmond and Tywater real quick.

Um Richmond won that 14 cup.

Not that I know all the guys up there anymore, but Tyballers had has traditionally had some some studs, you know, and to have Richmond win that.

SPEAKER_01

Um again, I don't know if he had all I don't know if everybody had all their top guys here, but but still that's that's that's saying something for for I mean you're gonna have the greatest players in the world if you don't know how to have team chemistry, number one, and the uh the banter that comes with it then Who who was the American that that was saying team chemistry doesn't really matter?

I don't think they all had they had any team chemistry on it.

SPEAKER_04

Well one of them one of them was saying that team chemistry doesn't even matter, which uh I I don't I don't I don't I don't subscribe to that line of thought.

SPEAKER_01

Um when we were down a million to one after the second day before singles match, I kind of forgot any comment that we said that this year, so it it feels like we didn't even have a writer cup, even though we made a strong, strong fight for the for it at the end.

SPEAKER_04

I got I've I've got no words, man.

Oh my god.

You know what I've got no words.

You know, for from my perspective, and I know I've said this to you before, there are certain things that just really eat at me, and I know that they shouldn't.

I know I'm old enough now, I should be I want to get over it, but I can't.

Um anytime that we that the United States loses in any type of international competition, it drives me freaking nuts.

Oh yeah.

It drives me nuts.

Um like our our men's soccer program.

They're a disgrace.

And I'm not really into soccer.

I mean I I follow the international stuff and and I know it's getting bigger.

And they say, Well, we haven't been playing soccer as long as these other I I I I really don't care.

I d I d I I I I really don't care.

We we should win everything.

We we if it's tiddly winks, if it's pickup sticks, I don't care what Chris, I don't care what it is.

We should be the best at all.

You know, right and and so when we're not and and and we and I guess sometimes you just get beat, but when you just don't show up, right?

When you when you don't show up and and and you don't have any heart, you don't have any any want to to um or what it seem what I'm not saying that they don't, but what what it seems like, right?

Right.

That that that's what that's what really upsets me.

But thanks for bringing that up.

Um now if I if we had a screenshot of of me now, like like we had of you earlier, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But it is what it is.

It is what it is.

You just gotta be able to go out there and if you're gonna talk it, you gotta be able to to back it up.

Exactly.

I've been doing a lot of talking, so I hope my team comes and brings it up, because I'm looking at the roster right now, and we have a solid, solid team.

SPEAKER_04

Well, you you've got you got some bragging, right?

You got a national champion.

He's playing, right?

SPEAKER_01

He's playing.

So I mean and people are already calling him out too for singles match.

I'm like, wow.

I don't know if you want to do that, guys.

Like, settle down.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but that's also what happens, though.

Yeah, I mean, what what once you get to that level, I mean, then it's I'd I'd just be a national champion.

So he's gotta bring it.

You know, just just like he did it for you know for three days in Hilton.

You're not wrong.

Just like I had to bring it the other day when I went to Stew's, it ain't the whole sub.

SPEAKER_01

Why did you gotta bring that up?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, because it was so good.

SPEAKER_01

I'm pretty sure it was.

But you don't have to bring it up.

SPEAKER_04

So when I when I ordered the the the swe the uh Sweaty Yeti and he kind of looked at me and and he said, Did what's his name tell you that?

I said, Yeah.

And he looked at me and he said I said he looked at me, he said, Really?

I said, Yeah.

But if we're not doing it, that's fine.

If you guys don't want to, I'm just uh he said, Let me go talk to Johan, see if he'll do it.

I said, You don't have to do that.

I'm not trying to be difficult.

I mean they did it right.

SPEAKER_01

But uh so I won't ask you.

You're gonna get these guys in trouble.

SPEAKER_04

You know, hey the he all he offered that up.

He did.

I told him what one of my one of my favorites is you know the meatball with with pepperoni on.

Um and he says, Oh, you want to know it's better than that?

I I didn't ask.

He he he he just offered He volunteered the information.

Yeah.

I didn't say hey, you know give give me some give me some of the you know the off menu items so I can come in and and uh and cause problems.

Every time I walk in I'm causing problems anyway, but uh but yeah.

I don't know if you saw this or not.

Dennis took Jennifer a week or so ago to to sue.

SPEAKER_01

He he sent us a message.

You and me both.

SPEAKER_04

Uh huh, how about that?

I hope she enjoyed it.

I know Dennis did.

Um I hope she I hope she enjoyed it.

Did he?

Oh, I I'm sure he did.

I I I can't imagine any red-blooded American man not go there and not enjoy it.

Again, if he did enjoy it, uh Dennis and I would Dennis, we're gonna have a conversation.

You know, wha what's going on?

So, but yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We we need to go talk to him about some business.

Yeah, we do.

unknown

Yeah, we do, yeah, we do.

SPEAKER_01

I just don't think if they mailed one to me, it'll last it'll get to me.

SPEAKER_04

No, it won't.

It won't.

SPEAKER_01

But worth a try.

SPEAKER_04

So I know we got like I said, we got registration coming up here.

What?

Black Friday?

How many days away is that?

It's uh it's not that far.

It's like eight days, ten days?

Ten days away?

SPEAKER_01

Uh don't tell me because remember I work retail, so 11 days away.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

We don't look forward to it with my retail sum.

Don't remind me.

SPEAKER_04

Black Friday for you should be a breeze.

You don't sell anything on the side.

SPEAKER_01

Why?

SPEAKER_04

You guys don't sell anything on Friday.

Apple never puts anything on sale.

SPEAKER_01

You're right.

We don't have anything, we don't have anything on sale, but people still come asking for sales.

And then when we're like, we don't have any.

Okay, well, I'll still take this.

SPEAKER_04

Again.

Let's put it this way.

If somebody's coming into an Apple store and asking for a sale, I wouldn't sell them anything because that means they don't know anything about the product.

They should know right from the get-go.

You're not getting sales.

Nothing's on sale.

No.

I only want to deal with people who know what to do and know what they're talking about.

Yeah, that's a good point.

But that that's that's up to you.

You know, that I don't mean to cause problems when I go into stores.

I don't.

But uh it it it just it sometimes just happens.

You know, we just start having a conversation and and ask questions, and and next thing I know, people shaking their head, Jen shaking her head, Tim, Tim, you need to stop.

unknown

You need to.

SPEAKER_04

So I believe it.

So you gotta get it working on your schedule, man.

This is this is the first time for me.

I do scheduling for me, man.

I'm not gonna show you.

I'm officially I'm gonna miss it.

I all can side I am gonna miss it.

SPEAKER_01

But uh And but look at the less stress you have on your face.

SPEAKER_04

Uh my this is just pretty much how my face sucks.

Don't worry.

I'm sure it'll be replaced with some.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm pretty sure.

So get working on that schedule.

I'm we'll we'll get there.

If it's it I'll have the dates ready for Black Friday.

I don't know about the course is, but I can always I can always announce them during my 12 days of Christmas and make it a little bit special that way.

Come on now.

I'm I'm innovative director of the year, sir.

You are?

I get I get very creative.

SPEAKER_04

Well, this is what I want to see from you this year.

Okay, ready?

Write this down.

I want to see actual Chris on the shelf pictures.

SPEAKER_01

That's not gonna happen.

That's not gonna happen.

No.

Mm-mm.

As great as AI is?

Nope.

Are you sure?

Are you sure?

SPEAKER_04

Because remember, I've I've got this this program.

SPEAKER_01

I know I know exactly what you got.

Um they better not surface any which way.

Um this might be the last year there's 12 days of Christmas.

SPEAKER_04

I'll see what I can do, man.

I will see what I can do.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no, you don't have to.

You're good.

SPEAKER_04

When does it start?

Just so that I know.

For my planning purposes.

SPEAKER_01

Nope.

You can do the math.

Uh I'm crying.

I know you are.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I'll look at the calendar, I'll figure it out you know what will work some what will work some damage.

SPEAKER_01

Don't shoot no.

SPEAKER_04

Is that is that wrong?

Where's that frowned upon?

SPEAKER_01

Uh I mean, you're gonna do it anyways.

Just like our our Road to Nationals picture where we have no windshield and we're lither being ejected out of the car.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that's funny though.

That's good.

Now, what one last thing, and then and then we'll get out of here.

Um for those people that don't know, um I wrote a book.

It's out now on on Amazon.

And if you're interested, it interested, it's called Connections Account.

I'll be happy to autograph a copy for you.

Um, but please buy them, leave me a review.

It will really help out a lot.

Um, we're we're we're just starting to to do a few other things.

Um, but uh pretty excited about getting that book done.

SPEAKER_01

Um, you've been talking about it for a while.

Yeah.

So it's done, it's it's out.

SPEAKER_04

So there we go.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I'm just gonna tell you this.

Well, when I do get my signed copy from you, uh I'm gonna definitely go through it with uh AI and make sure all punctuations are there and everything's correct, and I'm gonna go after your editor.

Well, you know how that is, right?

As nicely as I can.

I'll let her know.

I'll let her know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

All right, bud.

Well, it's good seeing you.

Um yeah you have great Thanksgiving.

Likewise.

Best to your family, best to Diana.

Tell her to to uh get to get ready to um maybe I'll I'll touch base with her with uh with the dates to have her somebody's picture or something.

I don't know.

We'll see.

No.

SPEAKER_01

This elf is not going on any shelves.

SPEAKER_04

No crystal on the shelf?

SPEAKER_01

No.

unknown
