[SPEAKER_00]: It's on the live and we're going to do it for the rest of the postseason.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we got that out of the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: We got the admin stuff out of the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: That game.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not because it's a good game should I do the recap first and then we'll talk about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we have so many thoughts.

[SPEAKER_00]: You would not go.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have so many thoughts.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let's just walk everyone through it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Both Tyler Glass now in Christopher Sanchez were fantastic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Glass now through six shutout innings with only two hits allowed and eight strikeouts.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was taken out after just 83 pitches.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was shocked, considering the Dodgers bullpen is clearly their worst unit.

[SPEAKER_00]: But Dave Roberts did say in a post game presser that he was cramping, and that's why he was removed.

[SPEAKER_00]: On the other side, Christopher Sanchez was just phenomenal, throwing 71 strikes out of his 95 pitches.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's unbelievable.

[SPEAKER_00]: Allowing just one run that came on a basis loaded walk from Yohan Durran that was credited to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then that was to tie the game.

[SPEAKER_00]: And in the half inning before, Nick Cociano's doubles home max Kepler off Emmett Sheen to give the Phillies a short-lived lead.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then in the 11th, the Dodgers load the bases and with two outs, Andy Pahez hits a little dribbler and Kirkering, Orion Kirkering boots it and then panic throws home when he had Pahez out at first by a mile.

[SPEAKER_00]: and the game is over.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dodgers advance, Philly's going home.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was the first postseason series ever in MLB history.

[SPEAKER_00]: Decided on a walk off error, run me through your thoughts watching it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because we talked about it yesterday.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I really felt like, and any of you texted me about it, you're like, good call.

[SPEAKER_01]: This might be the best game of the postseason.

[SPEAKER_01]: It just, it can end that way, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was too good of a game to end that way.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I really feel for curcoring.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think people would say, oh, why didn't you just throw it to first?

[SPEAKER_01]: And you touched on this, I thought you did a great job of highlighting that in the social video that you put out.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of times when you're in the field, you think if the ball comes to me, what am I going to do?

[SPEAKER_01]: When you're a pitcher in a base as a little jam, I think the last thing you're thinking about is if the ball comes to me, what am I going to do?

[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking about just how do I get out of this jam?

[SPEAKER_01]: How do I get this out?

[SPEAKER_01]: And the second the ball went towards Kirkering, I got nervous just because I figured like there's no way he's [SPEAKER_01]: thinking about what he's going to do in that spot.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then the second you bobble it, you know, I think for him, he's looking at saying, I have maybe some distant chance of getting him at home, and that plays in front of me.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I look to first and he's already down the line and then I look back home, it's going to be too late.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, that's probably over thinking it because, of course, Guy on 3rd's going to have a lead.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's moving on contact.

[SPEAKER_01]: and the guy at home plate has a longer way to go.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a first base.

[SPEAKER_01]: But we're talking about this as we are sitting on our chairs thinking about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just just a tough spot and I really don't think you can circle that one moment as much as that will be the one moment that's circled.

[SPEAKER_01]: You also mentioned this in your video and I agree with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of other opportunities to score.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give credit to this Dodger staff right glass now with spectacular as you mentioned.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I meant she handled it good, but that was the guy that you got to for one run.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sasaki was phenomenal, but you gotta get to Sasaki maybe in one of those three endings.

[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't go for one ending.

[SPEAKER_01]: You went three endings and then you didn't get to Vesia either.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I feel like you can circle that moment and I'm sure Philly's fans will.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you've got to score more than one run and 11 innings.

[SPEAKER_01]: What are the odds that you're going to keep this Dodgers offense to one run for more than an entire game?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's super slim anyways.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there are so many thoughts running through my head.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to stick on the error and then we're going to talk about this series as a whole.

[SPEAKER_00]: How do you make that mistake?

[SPEAKER_00]: That was my first thought.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like how do you throw home?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that was all of ours because it's clear.

[SPEAKER_00]: You get the ball and throw it to first base.

[SPEAKER_00]: But in the heat of the moment, even in his postgame presser, I was listening to him and he could just tell the 24 year old it was crushed.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have to remind ourselves of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think about it, it hits me home too because that's the age of my younger sister.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm just imagining that.

[SPEAKER_00]: human being with that 24-year-old brain on the mound, just watching it crumble.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Dan police sack, also had a great tweet where he said, the bump, the mound, can be the best place in the world or it can be the loneliest place in the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you see him drop almost to his knees, drop down and just the world came crashing down on him.

[SPEAKER_00]: He let the heat of the moment get to him [SPEAKER_00]: I did also say in the video.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to say like we should feel horrible for Orion Kirkering.

[SPEAKER_00]: At the end of the day, we get really into sports, but this is a human being.

[SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, I have to bring it up because this was so monumental.

[SPEAKER_00]: The comparisons to the Bill Buckner era, Error, excuse me, back in the 1986 World Series, Metz versus Red [SPEAKER_00]: because this Orion Kirkering's error was the only one in MLB history to end this series on a walk-off error.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bill Buckner's [SPEAKER_00]: was in a game six.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the red socks who played the Mets in that series had the opportunity to go win a game seven and make up for it, but they didn't.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, and it was a bad hop.

[SPEAKER_00]: First is this one was a pure mental mistake because he clearly had him at first base.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't as if, oh, well, he wouldn't have had him at first anyway, he tried.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't error, but damn, no, he had it right there.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when I say, this is one of the craziest endings I've ever seen, I think it is the craziest ending we've ever seen.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's going to go down in history as one of the biggest blunders in MLB history.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how you can't say that, which is horrible to say because we don't want to put it all on a 24 year old.

[SPEAKER_00]: But when you look at baseball history, I mean, what's [SPEAKER_01]: Again, I just feel like they had so many opportunities in Italy.

[SPEAKER_01]: What was the exact, I'm trying to remember, what was the exact situation for Buckner?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like that, he boots it, they lose the game, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, right, right on the spot there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was the walkoff, mokey Wilson, Grambal, weak grounder, it goes through his legs.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was trying to remember if that was to tighter that was immediately to lose immediately to win the game.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it was the World Series versus NLDS.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing too, you still got to win another series and you got to win another series.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the Red Sox also had an opportunity to go win a game seven and they did it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that could have just been washed away if the red socks do end up winning the World Series, but it's kind of remembered forever because they ended up losing in 1986.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, now I'm with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think, [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't even think it was something that the cross is mine there right is a go in there get the out not you know ball comes back to me automatically go on like I just don't even think that was discussed thought of what I maybe it was, but even more starting that shows you [SPEAKER_01]: you put a 24 year old in that spot, you know, David Robertson was available, but there's a reason why they went to Kirkering over Robertson, his stuff's better.

[SPEAKER_01]: He made the pitch.

[SPEAKER_01]: He got the out in terms of the weak contact.

[SPEAKER_01]: It just thinks that it went right to him.

[SPEAKER_01]: You signed, you paid a lot of money for a few months of a 40 year old vet who ultimately didn't go in that spot.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the other reason.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny to me, too, because like, [SPEAKER_01]: If David Robertson was pitching to his ability, maybe he would have been in that spot anyways.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's so many other things when it's a whole team effort that I think you resume out and think a little bit more about all that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, you're on the field, you need to make the play and that's what it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think about David Robertson's like, that's who they're, they paid to be in those leverage spots.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he was so bad that they didn't even want to use him in the playoffs.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why you have a 24 year old there.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you could look at that.

[SPEAKER_01]: You could also look at the fact that Tray Turner was over five.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Bryce Harper was over four who had multiple spots to come up big multiple.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what I look at too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, still you got to make that playing at the end.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who's to say they were first like who's to say they were even going to score run?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I still don't know if they were going to the one reason why it does bother me a little bit more though is I think like trying and was getting hot And that makes me feel like they were going to score run [SPEAKER_01]: That's the part that really does torture me because I could say that they didn't score for 10 of their 11 endings like who thinks they're going to score again, but like trying to was getting hot, so now I'm worried that that that's that's going to super seed that that argument there.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's tough and I really hope he has a great year and bounces back from it next year and.

[SPEAKER_01]: Still think there's so many other instances there though that you could circle up, but you know how it goes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's always going to be the deciding one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just wanted to speak about it in a historical context.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's up there.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's up there because I can feel your hesitancy to do it because I know you feel so bad for Kirk or I know you're thinking about how many opportunities the Phillies had to win this game.

[SPEAKER_00]: You also look at the games before then and the Phillies also at other chances to make this more of a series to get a lead anyway, so I think what you're feeling right now is you don't want to put it all on Orion curking I don't either I just think when we look back on this play regardless of what we say here today this is going to be in the pantheon of [SPEAKER_00]: Blunders in MLB history and it was crazy to watch it live my mouth dropped to my floor.

[SPEAKER_00]: I even said in the video That's a play that makes you reconsider your fandom as a Phillies fan I'm rocking my Phillies had today because I want to stand and you to sit with them because I feel horrible for them horrible not just for that play just how everything unfolded because funny enough [SPEAKER_00]: They played great defense in that game.

[SPEAKER_00]: Trade Turner is getting everything max Kepler with a diving play.

[SPEAKER_00]: So for that game where they played, that excellent a defense to end like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I did say in the discord, both pitching staffs on both sides were so good all day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Rokey says Sochi, we were so many things to talk about.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I did say in the discord on my said, I feel like this game is either going to end on a home run or an error.

[SPEAKER_00]: because, and someone else said in our Discord too, it was impossible for either offences to string two good hits together in the same inning.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what had to come down to that, and Andy Pahez, who is one for 22 in the postseason, he's the one who gets it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and the Dodgers, we're going to talk about them, too.

[SPEAKER_00]: They got to kick it in gear because this was not a great series for them either.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if they're going to go beat the brewers in the cubs, they got to be at their best.

[SPEAKER_00]: And right now, like Showeotani's been terrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have so many things to talk about.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where should we go?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll tie a bow on the fillies.

[SPEAKER_01]: Christopher Sanchez, again, like we talked about it yesterday.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was what we thought he would be, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: We said he needed to go six plus.

[SPEAKER_01]: He went six and a third.

[SPEAKER_01]: One run, one walk five case, handed it over to Geron.

[SPEAKER_01]: I loved going with Geron in that spot to be honest and just trying to get to those late endings.

[SPEAKER_01]: You get an ending in two thirds from him.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought Sanchez, just watching this guy pitch.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the swings that he was picking up from guys, [SPEAKER_01]: This is a bona fide top five pitcher in this game, and I think you could say, maybe a little bit better than that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait till we do our pitcher rankings because when we really sit down to think about it, I think there's a case to be made that he's, you know, right in there in the four, three spots.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I just think to do this to the Dodgers twice in this series, he gave his team a shot and more than a shot with the way that he threw and what if [SPEAKER_01]: I think the Harrison Bader absence was more felt than maybe it got credit for and maybe local radio or like Philly's fans were talking about it a little bit more but I didn't see it get brought up that much.

[SPEAKER_01]: This was one of the best deadline acquisitions and this was one of the better centerfielders and baseball this year all around.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the defense, the speed, the fact that he's having this, this just incredible offensive season in an eight 24 OPS is a Philly.

[SPEAKER_01]: He got in there and I mean, he was playing with a bad groin and hammy.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's not, he's told not to run.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the A.B.

[SPEAKER_01]: is, I mean, he had a couple big hits earlier in the postseason, but even that at Batbury ends up striking out.

[SPEAKER_01]: He made Vesia throw 10 plus pitches.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, he was battling up there and I think it was just a wrinkle that that lineup really needed.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we talked about how top heavy it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: It a little bit more, and then of course the glove in the speed as well, assuming he's healthy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying that makes the difference in the series, but I do think that Bader's absence was very underrated in this whole thing, and I do think really, really hurt the fillies in this one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking about the fillies offense, needing a guy like Harrison Bader.

[SPEAKER_00]: Think about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: The only run they scored in this game was because Emmett Sheen couldn't find first base.

[SPEAKER_00]: And without that error, did they score even one run?

[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not.

[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like this offense needed a lightning rod.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they got it in game 3.

[SPEAKER_00]: We saw Schwabbergo Yard twice.

[SPEAKER_00]: We saw Bryce Harper hit three balls over 95 miles an hour.

[SPEAKER_00]: We saw Tray Turner with three hits.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I hate to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the only reason I'm victory lapping this is because Jack wanted to [SPEAKER_00]: murder me for saying it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, going into the series, that wasn't as afraid of Bryce Harper, as I think everybody's making him out to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know he has these incredible plough numbers, but he has to get some of the blame here for laying an egg in this series.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just not good enough.

[SPEAKER_00]: He has to be better.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tray turned it and not have a good offensive series, but the glove was phenomenal.

[SPEAKER_00]: And really put up 17 out some of average this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Really developed [SPEAKER_00]: One of the best defensive short stops in baseball, won the batting title two and shorber with his 56 ohm runs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the top three, none of them really had a good series, but at the end of the day, this falls on Bryce Harper.

[SPEAKER_00]: You are the engine that makes this team go, and he did not show up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this postseason drop says, you know, career postseason, OPS under a thousand.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know, and it's like legend, and he's going to be a whole of favor.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying in this series right now, [SPEAKER_00]: it was incredibly disappointing and it was kind of after a moderately disappointing regular season.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no doubt.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's a few spots there where it's like, okay, here's your spot.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is where you do an harbor like this is.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think when they went a little bit deeper in other years, it was because he had the big swing in those spots.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because he looked on both sides.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you mentioned how Tony was not good either.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, a lot of the stars didn't really perform.

[SPEAKER_01]: Schwabber, it was nothing until he had that big game, you know, in game three as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that was Harper's only, you know, multi hit contest also.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if those guys aren't performing, and then you don't have a beta to step up or something like that, [SPEAKER_01]: Finn this this lineup can look all of a sudden.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I go, okay, well, who's going to be the guy that comes up big and, you know, when you got to the marsh real mutoe, I know he had some good swings, but capboard Castillano stop part of the line of the mind.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm going to back into a run here.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to add alicbome to that list.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will say, boom, reach base three times, but that's your cleanup hitter.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've said enough about boom, he actually ended up having one of the better series, but that's your clean up better.

[SPEAKER_01]: If that's your clean up better, you need something from Schwalber or Harper or Turner and you didn't, and you know, credit to the Dodger staff, but I mean, the Philly's offense is supposed to be able to match that and it just didn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think big part of that though was, [SPEAKER_01]: Got see a parents, you know, got see start from glass now and then just what Roki did to go three.

[SPEAKER_01]: If Roki doesn't go three, we're having a different conversation here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we're having.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have to go to then try and earlier, or you have to go she hand to earnings and either of those paths, I think.

[SPEAKER_01]: You'll do another run.

[SPEAKER_01]: Very possible.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was maybe a little, that sounds like me being hyperbolic.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think, I think some nasty writings from, from glass now himself, I think, but that was, I mean, that was ridiculous stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, some of the fastballs where he was spotting at the command was as good as I've seen it from him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's got multiple innings.

[SPEAKER_01]: He went three.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's so efficient to 36 pitches, but if he doesn't go three, [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to feel, I think, the what's lacking in this Dodgers bullpen, which is why I still have a concern going into the next series.

[SPEAKER_01]: What exactly three every other day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: No way.

[SPEAKER_01]: So.

[SPEAKER_01]: great to get out of that situation.

[SPEAKER_01]: They did not want to go back to the bank and we talked about it last episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I think Dave Roberts is going to do everything in his power.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to push all the chips forward to to ensure that this thing doesn't go back to the bank.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that was done via Rokey going three endings here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out, Lizardo.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, Zeus, man, like, [SPEAKER_01]: He gave Michelle to coming out of the pen and he's dealt with injuries.

[SPEAKER_01]: So last couple of years, he's a year away from free agency after this one.

[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't carry wants to go win out there and he went out there and through after putting together a great start for them and gave them a shot as well with an ending in two thirds.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I got to say Sasaki, like we put out the graphic.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was the X-factor in that series, and especially with the uncertainty, and I would say lack of confidence at any of us having that bullpen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Rokey has been as valuable and as important as just about anybody on that team, given what their clear tangible weakness is and how good he has been to offset that.

[SPEAKER_00]: 100% I also want to answer a question here in the comment section on YouTube, having Wheeler would definitely made it this series a lot different.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm thinking to myself and I disagree and the reason I disagree is [SPEAKER_00]: because the Philly's pitching was so good, especially in the starting rotation.

[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about Christopher Sanchez, Diabolical Outings, both of them, the familiarity in Dodger Stadium.

[SPEAKER_00]: In a, and I know the shadows probably helped him a little bit too ed glass now, I mean, trying to hit those guys when you can't see spin.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, just good luck.

[SPEAKER_00]: You, you could barely see it anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: The shadows definitely helped, but that's the Dodgers offense in Dodgers stadium after they just saw you a few days ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Hacers are out, you said to yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: He went six weeks to run ball completely neutralized.

[SPEAKER_00]: Showhail, Tony, came in and relief had a great outing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ranger Swar is dealt.

[SPEAKER_00]: Aaron Nola through two shutty.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what was we were going to do just the same thing?

[SPEAKER_00]: They couldn't hit.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the point.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to say because everybody knows listening.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you've been listening to the just baseball show for a while.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love Zach Wheeler.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have glazed him to no ends.

[SPEAKER_00]: But in this series, in this specific series, I don't think having Wheeler would have made much of a difference because he's not picking up a bat.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't disagree.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't, you think, okay, well maybe you can get by some endings here there.

[SPEAKER_01]: you could align the bullpen different, but not really.

[SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't have really set up much differently.

[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe, you know, you're just galvanized by knowing that you have one of the best posties and starters.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, it helps your case.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's any doubt about that.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this series probably went if I wanted to, you know, say, [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, how do I feel about how much wheel or could have impacted the series?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it could have won any more in the direction of it probably would have been out of his hands.

[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with you wholeheartedly because the offense was the problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And ultimately, they got good start to cross the board and even that quote unquote bullpen game ended up being a combined between Nolan and Ranger as you mentioned of seven andnings of one run ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, maybe wheel or gives you a little bit more than six endings of two run ball from wasardo maybe get seven of one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's not going to be the difference ultimately I think and it's going to be really hard to win that way anyway, so I'm I'm really excited for the Philly's offseason because I just want to see what they're going to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think they're one of the most fascinating teams.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're still obviously in win now mode at all times, but Schworberg got a lot more expensive in free agency.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're going to look a lot different because Castillanos is probably going to be out the door that might be a salary dump situation.

[SPEAKER_01]: What are they going to do with the catching situation there?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just in terms of long term, how do they feel?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is out boom?

[SPEAKER_01]: Going to still be the third baseman.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a lot of interesting conversations to be had people still keep floating cow talker, but do they have the money to do that?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is will are going to be healthy for the start of the season?

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of things for them to figure out and to broski.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it needs to figure out a way to get this team, you know, right back to where they've been, but not just that.

[SPEAKER_01]: How can you make that final step.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if Harper is starting to age downwards a little bit, like you're going to need to find some more production.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it this team's not getting younger.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're still really, really good.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just fascinated by, you know, how Dumbarowski can give this team a little bit of a joke going into next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think from within there's some good prospects that can help that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's wrap up on the Dodgers before we move on to Cubs versus Brewers and we'll talk about the Dodgers and what their series is going to look like against either the Cubs or the Brewers whoever moves on.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we do the championship series previews, it will stay that I want to stick primarily in this series.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to talk about how great of a series this was for them, and it was especially for the pitching.

[SPEAKER_00]: We've already talked so much about Roki.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was an ultimate weapon, Blake Snell.

[SPEAKER_00]: You could hand him the ball on the moon, and he'd be able to get out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yoshino Biyama Moto, not as best start, and his last start against Philly, but you have all the confidence in the world [SPEAKER_00]: glass now.

[SPEAKER_00]: The stuff was outrageous, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And you can hit, I'm, it's late at night.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who am I forgetting in their starting rotation?

[SPEAKER_00]: Showhail, Tony.

[SPEAKER_00]: How am I forgetting?

[SPEAKER_00]: Showhail, Tony.

[SPEAKER_00]: Six settings at the rerun ball, but it all came in like one bad inning, and then he was just dominant from there.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the Dodgers clearly, they're going to go as far as their starting rotation takes them, but what makes them clearly more dangerous.

[SPEAKER_00]: is if Otani is not neutralized by these lefties.

[SPEAKER_00]: He had a terrible serious offense, and it just it is what it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mookie and Teasker were the guys to get them there.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Tommy Edmund had a couple of nice hits, but really like I look at their lineup and I think to myself, Alex Call had some good A-B's.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it really wasn't to great series from them.

[SPEAKER_00]: The big home run by Teasker, Mookie just being wildly consistent.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like Freddie Freeman had a good series.

[SPEAKER_00]: Imagine that starting rotation.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they can beat a team like the Philly's in four.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because right now, I'm kind of crushing them right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: But then it makes me think.

[SPEAKER_00]: They win game one.

[SPEAKER_00]: When Shoha Otani goes over four with four shortcuts and gives up three runs.

[SPEAKER_00]: They win that game at the bank.

[SPEAKER_00]: They win a series against the Philly's in four, and I thought they didn't play well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, scary.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's scary.

[SPEAKER_00]: What are they good to start doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because they have these weird problems against lefties.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's clear.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Ranger Sanchez, Lazardo, dominated them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Get a couple of righties in the next series.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the Cubs, they have a couple of lefties if they get through, but Matthew Boyd and showed it even agar a little bit different.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Christopher Sanchez.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so we'll see are as even, but daughter fans, if you're listening to this, yeah, I'm not giving you a ton of credit for this series, which should make you so excited moving forward because he will fill these four looking like this.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'll just run you through their stars as we wrap up here on this series of like what they did in this series and tell me if you think they're going to do better.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and not maybe not everybody's going to do better, but [SPEAKER_01]: I bet on a few of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Show Hay was one for 18.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's no 56 batting average.

[SPEAKER_01]: Andy Pie Hayes was one for 15.

[SPEAKER_01]: Freddie Freeman was two for 15.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or three for 15, excuse me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Boogie Betts was four for 17.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he had only one extra base hit.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then you even had, I mean, [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to some of the best performers for you like Taosker Hernandez had a 732 OPS.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was one of your best performers amongst players with 15 or more at bats.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's maximum team.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm wrong though.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Max Muncie was tied for the lead and hits on the team in the series and he had nine at bats.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody else said like of the starters at 15 16, whatever.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Tommy had been hit 235 with a 647 OPS.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like nobody hit well.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll Smith was two for 13 he hit 154 the 421 OBS and I was come out from injury like there's he's just been great need to be out there But I mean if have it those guys swing it better the offense is gonna be playing well You know, that's the scary part that that is the really scary part about this ball club is they Really they stunk offensively they were not good offensively and [SPEAKER_01]: They won without it going the distance of a series here.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is scary.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think for whoever is going to get them next.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's talk Cubs versus Brewers.

[SPEAKER_00]: But before that, let's talk about our friends at Lens.

[SPEAKER_01]: Real quick, 557 team OPS in that series.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's crazy.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they're so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: They just beat the Philly's at four with a five, 57 team OPS, it's just outrageous.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you could say they got lucky, but the only run the Philly scored in that game was kind of off an energy and error.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we're like saying the bullpen stinks.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like it's just it's scary.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's really scary.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very interested to see this next series.

[SPEAKER_01]: But yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: about Lids specifically as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: You may know by now that Lids has trading cards after our partnership with for Top's Chrome and we're back to tell you that they're the exclusive retailer for Bowman Chrome and Bowman Chrome's getting hot right now, one because it's always exciting to go chase those top prospects.

[SPEAKER_01]: But Camp Schlittler has this first auto in there as well and his cards were [SPEAKER_01]: like 20xing immediately.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was funny.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was trying to like grab some Yankee spots and breaks and then the break prices got real expensive real quick.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was not able to beat the crowd there.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you could potentially just pull your own campsuit or card.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you go to one of 101 [SPEAKER_01]: Lids locations that carry Bowman Chrome, and they have a site online that can show you which of their locations have the Bowman Chrome hobby boxes.

[SPEAKER_01]: The best part is you pay retail price for these boxes at Lids versus paying marked up prices at secondhand shops are missing out on pre sales.

[SPEAKER_01]: And just like the top chrome release, I'm going to be doing an in-person signing and meeting great at one of the Lids locations in the Scottsdale area in the next [SPEAKER_01]: And I think we're going to potentially have Bryce Cunningham, one of the top pitching prospects with the Yankees out there hanging out with us.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to try to pull some camps or cards and Carlos will run as is first auto in there as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: So very excited about that stay tuned.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, it's going to be a fun little meet and greet and person and.

[SPEAKER_01]: Pulling some cards and getting some sign stuff there, but also the best part about this.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you text baseball, BASE, BALL to 29017, you'll get 20% off your next headwear or apparel purchase, and they've got a lot of cool stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know Jack was rocking his not too long ago, Elijah was rocking his on the call up.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's some really cool clothing from like the fall series.

[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, 29017 and you'll get 20% off also helps us and caution nothing.

[SPEAKER_01]: You just got a text baseball to that number.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if you do end up buying some bum and crum at your local spot, definitely shoot me a DM and let me know what you pull.

[SPEAKER_00]: Quick Wush and then we'll be back for Brewers versus Cubs.

[SPEAKER_00]: You tell me the Wu Shanshik, it's kind of, even everybody listening on audio.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's just baseball level in the up in the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: We got some Wu Shanshik.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk, Cubs Brewers.

[SPEAKER_00]: This was all Cubs from the very start.

[SPEAKER_00]: Best game of the postseason for them by far.

[SPEAKER_00]: first inning started with a bang like it does in every game of this series as Ian have finally broke through with a big three run home run to give the cubs the lead and they just never looked back.

[SPEAKER_00]: Matt Shaw drove and run on a single in the six and Cal Tucker went yard in the seventh in Carson Kelly almost went yard on a ball that was just foul.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then he he he grouted out and I thought he was safe at first, but they still called them out.

[SPEAKER_00]: He got totally screwed at that A.

B.

But it did matter comes when Michael Bush joined the party for his fourth home run of the postseason.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the most by any player.

[SPEAKER_00]: Matthew Boyd showed up tossing four and two thirds of shut up baseball with six strikeouts and just two hits allowed joining Jake Arietta as the [SPEAKER_00]: in their history to throw four plus scoreless innings with five plus k's in an elimination game, bullpen shut the door again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Plenty of got four outs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Palmer and shirk out two in a shut editing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Brad Keller shut out at a big horse.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Caleb Fielbar did the same.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we got a game five arm.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thank goodness.

[SPEAKER_01]: I really wanted the game five in that Philly's Dodger series.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, and this is the one where we didn't think it was going to happen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is why baseball is so amazing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was so wrong about this one.

[SPEAKER_00]: I put the cubs the bed.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said Matthew Boyd.

[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like his arm is falling off.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of been middleing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't expect them to step up, especially against a guy like Freddie Proulton.

[SPEAKER_00]: What do they do?

[SPEAKER_00]: Ian Hap, the guy who's been terrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Three road, road up, Freddie Proulton.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they just kept hitting.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was so wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now, like, I don't want to predict the series anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I've just, I've no idea.

[SPEAKER_00]: When Jack and I first did the predictions episode, [SPEAKER_00]: Neither of us had a strong opinion.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, who are you going with?

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, Bruce, and I was like, I'll go for the cubs just to be different.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have no idea how the rest of the series is going to go and that's what makes it so awesome.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and it's funny, because this is one of those we just feel like, okay, well, now the cubs are in the driver's seat, they've got the momentum and then they'll lose somehow, in game five, and that's why it's confusing, but I do think that [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I feel that way in this situation.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's usually how my predictions will go when I try to look at it that way.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what do we talk about in the last episode?

[SPEAKER_01]: One of these guys between Kyle Tucker and PCA needs to get going, and I felt more confident that Kyle Tucker wasn't going to get going, because is that bats the last three games have been good?

[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Tucker reached base four times in this one.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't like a game-changing homeer, [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was one that kind of put the final nail in the coffin there.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was more just important for that whole team to see Kyle Tucker go deep for Kyle Tucker to see that slug come back as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's been putting together now a lot of good at bats, but you need that slug, especially in some of these games the way that they've gone like you want to be able to leave the yard with one swing, especially because the spur were staff even when you do get to them early like they've hunkered down in other in other games and and this one they did still to I mean you saw four straight zeroes after the three, but then some home runs swings were able to kind of [SPEAKER_01]: push across at least even one run there on solo shots.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like that's how they're going to score a lot of the time here and and you know outside of bush and say, uh, you're kind of wondering, like who's going to be that guy that goes yard for yeah, like who can be that other player that instills some fear in the opposing team and it needs to be Tucker and needs to be the guy that's going to make $300 million in a few months here, maybe $400 million.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's looked like that of late.

[SPEAKER_01]: and I'm glad because it would have been disappointing just after the the cup is making the move to get him the talent that we know he has for for them to not get a full shot with the best version of Kyle Tucker and that's not totally his fault because he's been really banged up this year but it's just nice to see him healthy and swinging it now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now this line up, it feels like first half comes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny how quick that can change, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Where Bush seems like he's home or in every other day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Nico Horner had three hits in this one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tucker's back to Tucker.

[SPEAKER_01]: Say, uh, is back to himself as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then now you're variable is, well, what PCR are we going to get?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, hopefully the good one, but he's in the seven hole for you now, and you're producing runs, I think, without him.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the interesting part of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what makes the cubs have this spark potential is, and they can slug with the best of them, but they didn't mean to in this one.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the craziest part, I don't think either of us would have thought they'd shut out the brewers here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Boy, I mean, he, he, he, he dug deep.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was 67 pitches, but he gave us four of his yards.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he was nasty.

[SPEAKER_00]: God, see, I saw a guy who I thought his arm was falling off.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know I keep saying that, but I'm just, I was so shocked watching that performance.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was so funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: My mouth just stayed open for two hours.

[SPEAKER_00]: After that error, [SPEAKER_00]: that just watching Matthew Boyd be so wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could have sworn he was going to give up four runs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, the burgers already got to him a little bit in his first start.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then another one, it's not like he has a full slate of rest either going game one to game four.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know there's some off days in between, but he was not on a full rest schedule.

[SPEAKER_00]: On three days rest the first time after a tough second half to put up that type of performance to join Jake Arietta as the only cubs to have four plus scoreless innings with five plus k's in an elimination game so much respect for him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the brothers are great offense.

[SPEAKER_00]: So to do it to them, too, got to see, got to see from Matt Boyd.

[SPEAKER_01]: How about Drew Palmerance to so Palmerance now?

[SPEAKER_01]: He is not given up a run in this postseason.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the the brewers have now seen them on three different occasions already in the series.

[SPEAKER_01]: You've got five scoreless endings I think from from Palmerance now and the three three of them have [SPEAKER_01]: People forget, just baseball broke the Drew Pomerans to the Mariners signing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, this year, take credit for that one.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was an arm late in Bangor.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was a, well, we, you haven't had an arm, an arm bomb, an arm bomb in a while.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the office is for.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tiring.

[SPEAKER_01]: So no, no, it's just, it's when the minor leak free agent market messed up.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's where I cook.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's the scrap set Jeff pass and just it doesn't even have the time to go pick up.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I cook But that was one where it was funny because when I broke that the most common response was he's still around Yeah, there's a couple that a couple signings and I put that one and then the responses to a recent McGuire We're also very very consistent in the quote tweets But both You get a location tracker of a certain [SPEAKER_01]: Brands parking lot and how many locations are close to a regularly field there.

[SPEAKER_01]: But palm reances it was incredible to see and again, to even start the year with the cup.

[SPEAKER_01]: So good good acquisition there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Palencia continues to get deployed in like the fifth and sixth earnings and it's been fantastic and I really had zero confidence in this pitching staff going into this and here they are.

[SPEAKER_01]: I still think the last game turns into a Swagfest, and I'm sure I'll be wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure I will, but I do think this game five is going to be an offensive on Swag both ways, and I'm really interested to see how that shakes out.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fascinated to see what the cubs do with their pitching plan here, because luckily, they get another day off in between, so they can rest some of these relievers, because I mean, [SPEAKER_00]: Logically, I don't think Shota Iminaaga is going to pitch well.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's given up 22 homeruns in the second half.

[SPEAKER_00]: The next close is pitcher is 17.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's bombs away.

[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen the Burr's offense already beat him up.

[SPEAKER_00]: But now knowing it, he's probably just going to go shove.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if I'm the cubs going into it, is it really Shota?

[SPEAKER_00]: And then if I'm the Burr's on the other side, is it just a straight bullpen game?

[SPEAKER_00]: Is Mizurowski going to go?

[SPEAKER_00]: How are they going to manage that?

[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, there's a pardony harm that it's like, I was going through the brewer's past post seasons because it's, [SPEAKER_00]: They probably feel like they're on the cusp of another collapse here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because the Brewers, I mean, we saw what happened against the Met's last year, but just going through.

[SPEAKER_00]: 2018, they lose the Dodgers, four, three, just a tough one.

[SPEAKER_00]: 2019, they lose to the eventual Washington Nationals.

[SPEAKER_00]: They lose in seven.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or no, sorry, they lost four to three in the Wildcard game.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then another Wildcard game where they lose in 2020 to the World Series championship Dodgers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then in 2021, they lose in the LDS, the World Championship at Lanna Braids.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then in 2023, they lose the Diamondbacks, what it up, going to the World Series.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then of course, the Met's last year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like this team has seen so many heart breaks.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they make the playoffs every year.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just a knife in their gut, in their heart, in their back, in the middle of their forehand.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everywhere.

[SPEAKER_00]: They got wounds everywhere.

[SPEAKER_00]: It almost feels like I'm giving it to the bro's just because the baseball gods owe them because I'm done actually analyzing the games and making predictions.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like if this is especially in this series.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this one's no read.

[SPEAKER_01]: This one's crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: What's interesting is I think the bro's at least with the day off and the way that this game went.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do think it.

[SPEAKER_01]: favors them offensively.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, all right.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, favors them pitching wise.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have a very rest at Abnery Bay.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who was going to have, I think, what three days off after throwing 13 pitches.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe four days rest.

[SPEAKER_01]: Chad Patrick will still be good to go.

[SPEAKER_01]: He barely threw miss.

[SPEAKER_01]: You'll you'll have Ms.

[SPEAKER_01]: Rowski available.

[SPEAKER_01]: You'll have Quinn prester available.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's you'll basically have everybody make you'll will be available.

[SPEAKER_00]: Contana.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure if they want to like that guy will throw any time.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I say it's going to be a drug fast, but you know, the more I think about.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still going to stick with that, but the more I see like the pitching situation here for the brewers, they're going to have a lot of different options, so they they can afford to go very shortly with a lot of there guys knowing that they have a bunch of different players that they can go with here, so this is where it's a big spot for Murphy and see how does he.

[SPEAKER_01]: managed to bullpen, does he deploy his guys in the right spots?

[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, Miserowski is going to have four days rest after throwing 57 pitches.

[SPEAKER_01]: If Miserowski can give you the Rokey situation or just, I'm actually just called the Miserowski situation and he gives you three endings of just dominance again.

[SPEAKER_01]: What that now does for the rest of your bullpen, now you can really play the matchups and you can shortly show your starter there.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the reason why I still feel optimistic about the Brewers is how good Ms.

[SPEAKER_01]: Rowski looked to having that in your back pocket and then having all of your top relievers very available on top of starters as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can go as short of a leash as you want with everybody.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that can be a good thing in a bad thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: It can breed over managing.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it's a, it's a good spot over all to be in, you know, if you're the brewers and I think you got to feel pretty good about it going home.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're on the cub side because we were just talking up the brewers and if you're the cubs, you built a momentum.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have now won two in a row.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd rather be in your shoes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: If it just in terms of building the momentum, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: You'd rather be on the cut side, clearly after winning those two games and no end the Brewers, probably know that they've been in some tough spots in the postseason and they don't want to fall into another one.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is going to be a lot of pressure on them at home.

[SPEAKER_00]: There will be the fans.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're all going to be nervous in that stadium.

[SPEAKER_00]: They will.

[SPEAKER_00]: At American Family Field.

[SPEAKER_00]: I guarantee you they're, you know, we're going to feel it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're going to feel it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father take it as kid.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be like, please, it's like it's going to be a tense environment, which doesn't necessarily help the home team that much, whenever one's on pins and needles.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I keep going back and forth because here's what has to happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like a guy like Bryce trying has to step up.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's what made the brewer so prolific in the second half.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, there was plenty of other guys that made the brewer is great, but him in the middle of the lineup, he's had a really, really tough series.

[SPEAKER_00]: Caleb Durbin has to step up offensively.

[SPEAKER_00]: South Freelic has to step up offensively.

[SPEAKER_00]: He can't just be the first three guys and you expect to win because the cup's offense is going to show up here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it's going to take some excellent pitching performances from Milwaukee, and I think they have it in him.

[SPEAKER_00]: But guys like that have to step up of the Brewers want to move past the series and they're going to have to really step up if they get past and go face the Dodgers.

[SPEAKER_01]: You think there's a world where somebody gets an injury designation and Kate Horton gets activated?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is that possible?

[SPEAKER_01]: I think he could be possible.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is he healthy enough to throw?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: He said two days ago on October 7 at this moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am pain free.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kate Horton on his fractured rib.

[SPEAKER_01]: they may say like it's a pain management thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Go for it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think you would be I think it would be risky.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is, but I need it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I want to see the Cubs guy because Kate Horton down the stretch was the Cubs guy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Actually kind of James and Todd was, but Kate Horton is probably going to win rookie in the year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to see him so he said he thinks he'd be ready for the NLCS so it's just kind of depends on the timing of the bullpins, how he's scaling up, how the the club's feel about it, but it would be pretty badass if they decided to to activate K to Horton and again, I think you'd have to find an injury designation maybe, you know, Cerroca's arms starts to bother them a little bit again.

[SPEAKER_01]: They'll figure that out, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Just an interesting wrinkle, because talk about momentum.

[SPEAKER_01]: You bring your dog, the guy that's been potentially your rookie the year, but also just the guy that's been your cool in the second half as a pitcher and just has been so, so impressive.

[SPEAKER_01]: And just how much that would galvanize this ball club?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: They have the extra day off, which is huge to try to figure that out.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it would be damn cool, but we'll see.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, before we rehash some of our thoughts about Mariners Tigers and then we'll say good night to everybody listening again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you to everybody on YouTube again.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're still watching on YouTube, make sure to hit the like button and comment down below.

[SPEAKER_00]: We love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It really helps us stream as well and make sure to hit that big red subscribe button as we will be live every.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, five days a week during the weekdays, not on the weekends, but of course, we'll be back.

[SPEAKER_00]: So always be live on this YouTube channel.

[SPEAKER_00]: So make sure that you're subscribing.

[SPEAKER_00]: to the prediction.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm throwing it over to you because I'm scared.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I don't know what to pick.

[SPEAKER_01]: Go to be wrong no matter what.

[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we love to find this club's team.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever you choose, I'll choose the opposite.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of us will be right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely love the five from this club's team, but get not a riggly helps.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just think I just think playing a riggly is tough.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I think between that, the way the pitching lines up for the brewers, I'm going to go with, I'm going to go at the brewers.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said I was going to go the opposite of you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was hoping you would take the cubs so I could take the birds.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think the birds went to, I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's also really hard to beat the birds three times in a row, which is it's hard to beat the cubs three times in a row.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it just feels like the home team has the advantage because this is such a coin flip series.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you give me, because you know what's funny, I think the best brewers game will be their bullpen games, because their bullpen is so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: I trust Pat Murphy to make all the right decisions.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have no idea who the hell you're gonna see if you're the cubs going in the next five.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they could go miss to Contana.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that switch up.

[SPEAKER_00]: you're adjusting to completely different arsenals every second.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Ms, talk about data adrenaline, I think he's gonna touch 105.

[SPEAKER_00]: You might.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, and that's where it's going to just come down to like, can the cubs elite bats, which I mean, I think the way Michael Bush is swung it, he's looked like an elite bat, cow Tucker isn't elite bat, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, can their top guys just come up big and clip one, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: It just takes a couple big swings.

[SPEAKER_01]: That could be all it takes.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, I do think you will get the cubs and they're key guys out of that bullpen, like you know who you're gonna see if you're the broers and you're playing from behind in a close one.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you've seen those guys a good bit in this series, I wonder if that, you know, plays to the Brewer's advantage or if they just continue to struggle against some of those bullpin arms, but it's going to be, I think, one of the best versions of bullpin chaos from the Brewer's and I think that's going to make it really hard, but if Kyle Tucker's Kyle Tucker, that can be a couple run difference by just a couple big swings and that might be all they need.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it was so funny, I just googled because someone commented, Cubs have beat the birds three and a row before already in the regular season.

[SPEAKER_00]: The birds have also beat in the Cubs three times in the regular season.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, the season series here is seven to six.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's as close as possible.

[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, it's been done before.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's still really hard to do in the last two.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's really hard to do in the playoffs.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, [SPEAKER_00]: Just give me the home team, I guess.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like the Burr's pitching plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: If Kate Horton goes though, I might change my tune.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wish we could hear Jack narrating the world series games.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could say, I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, I agree with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's coming.

[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be one of these days, not too far from now.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll start with the wooshes.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then we get to some of those things.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right now we're on wooshes.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're getting there though.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting there.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, before we get to rehashing some thoughts on Tigers Mariners, [SPEAKER_00]: about life insurance.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I went on a hike today, dude.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of scary.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's a lot of cliffs and I'm always afraid of tripping or slipping and whatever and I'm looking over there like the edge of the cliff and I'm like, man, what would my family do if I wasn't here anymore?

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why [SPEAKER_01]: got to think about life insurance and where better to go than ethos if so here's the funny thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Life insurance is one of those things that you just don't really want to think about until life kind of hits you, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And like there's been a few instances where that's happened, like to joke about it too, but sometimes I'm walking on my cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is scary.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to make sure that my family is taken care of.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the best part about ethos is, there's no complicated process.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's 100% on line.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's no medical exam required.

[SPEAKER_01]: You just answer a few health questions.

[SPEAKER_01]: You get a quote in as little as 10 minutes and you can get same day coverage without ever leaving your house and [SPEAKER_01]: and I don't like leaving my house that much, this hike was already kind of a big venture.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can get up to three million dollars in coverage, some policies as well as two dollars per day build monthly ethos is a trustworthy company that disrupts the traditional life insurance industry.

[SPEAKER_01]: As of March 2025, business insider names ethos, the number one no medical exam, [SPEAKER_01]: Incent life insurance provider, three million families have completed their applications and trusted ethos to help find the right coverage and ethos has a 4.8 out of 5 stars on Trust Pilot with over 2400 reviews.

[SPEAKER_01]: Protect your family with life insurance from ethos.

[SPEAKER_01]: Get your free quote at ethos.com slash just baseball that's ETHOS.com slash just baseball [SPEAKER_01]: rates may vary.

[SPEAKER_00]: And proud of you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Those are excellent adread because Jack, he crushes it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's so hard every time.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's so annoying.

[SPEAKER_01]: He makes the adreads look so easy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they're not sometimes.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're really not and jacks automatic.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because on the radio, I want to clip it sometimes.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to read some really funny ads, man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's some marlins promotions.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got to start.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got to have like a montage made of [SPEAKER_00]: And we know everybody's got to listen to ads every so often.

[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully we make them as fun as humanly possible.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll be right back to talk, Mariners Tigers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Quick, woosh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mariners Tigers game five.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've been thinking about the series all day.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm obsessed with the series.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it is, it is a team.

[SPEAKER_00]: with declerly better roster in Seattle.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anyone would deny that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tigers fans wouldn't deny that.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there's something about these gritty ticks.

[SPEAKER_00]: Defense, base running.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their manager, AJ Hinge, compared to a first year manager, it's such a nuanced battle.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I love it so much.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I've loved watching these games.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know the Tigers offense has been incredibly exciting.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's so fascinating to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's such a different style of teams going up against each other when it's like, and the Mariners were arguably the biggest favorite of anyone.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to a game five, but it's in T-Mobile where the Mariners have been borderline on stoppable all year, against Haryx Scooble, but at the same time, Scooble is Owen three against them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we know that Scooble, [SPEAKER_00]: without that much rest in an elimination game last time gave up a grand slam to Lane Thomas.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he's not impenetrable, but at the same time, it's Terri Skull in an elimination game.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he's really good, otherwise.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he was really good, otherwise.

[SPEAKER_00]: He slipped.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then you got George Kirby on the other side, who that start against the Astros.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's, I thought that was such a dominant performance.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's when George Kirby really burst onto the scene.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he shouldn't have been in the game anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: I guess he shouldn't have given up that home run to you talking about what he has the stuff to put up in otherworldly performance, but he's got an era over six against the tigers.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we saw him give up that big home run to carry carpenter.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now personally, I also for anybody listening who wants to make some late night bets, I already bet George Kirby under 15 and a half pitching outs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's going to go past five minutes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's going to see carry carpenter more than twice because it's also been announced that Luis Castillo will be available out of the bullpen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is going to be a battle of managers.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be a tight game.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be low scoring and I just can't get over.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have tensioned school.

[SPEAKER_00]: When I think about the game unfolding like that, now anything could happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the most confident script I feel good about is a tight low scoring game or scooble.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, also the tigers are minus 140 favorites on bed, I'm GM, are they, I, I like, I was gonna say, that's the most popular thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to talk myself into the tigers.

[SPEAKER_00]: I, yeah, where are you at?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I also like, [SPEAKER_00]: I had tigers in five, so I'm thinking I'm hanging on my prediction a little bit more.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jack and I did it, I know you liked the Mariners, but it's not like you were tied to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: So with someone who was tied to a prediction, I feel like you'd have the best breakdown of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just, this is the most, I felt the, the pendulum swing to the tiger.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not because even the momentum, I think it's just the way things line up here, where you mentioned the success that the tiger's fat against Kirby.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really think that the lack of success against, or the lack of success for school against the Mariners matters as much, because I thought last time I was fantastic, and I don't think he's going to make the same mistake.

[SPEAKER_01]: to hooray polanco a third time and it's just a rare for him to do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing that's fascinating to me is Carrie Carpenter has won hit in this series.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's won for 17.

[SPEAKER_01]: That won hit is that outrageous swing to go deep off of George Kirby.

[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that the Tigers are doing this with Carrie Carpenter essentially being a no show.

[SPEAKER_01]: Aside from that swing, Dylan Dingler is two for 14, Riley Green has three hits and one of them is that home run as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every tiger's hit is clutch like Spencer Torkelson is not having a good series, but he's got six RBI's.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every single one of his hits matters.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every single one of these guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what matters.

[SPEAKER_01]: Avery's been incredible.

[SPEAKER_01]: When it doesn't matter, nobody hits for the Tigers, it's amazing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then the way the bullpins line up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Game Spider, I all the sudden, don't feel as good about, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: a lot.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, they're going to go to brush right, but they got to brush too.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're not getting six innings out of Kirby.

[SPEAKER_01]: How much of a bolt pin.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think I think I think I think I think I think the Mariners are going to get five out of Kirby or four five out of Kirby and then I think they're going to bridge to Castillo to hedge some of those bullpen concerns right.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we see spire against Carrie Carpenter and I think that's probably it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think we see Bazzardo.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's, I think in Dan Wilson's perfect world and for all those on YouTube, Marinisfants, let us know in the comments.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think their plan would be Kirby for four or five, Castillo for two or three.

[SPEAKER_00]: brash moonios or just go Kirby to Castillo to moonios.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that would probably be their perfect plan because we've seen Castillo dominate the Tigers already.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Kirby is George Kirby.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I have faith in him.

[SPEAKER_00]: I took his under outs because I think that's gonna be a managerial decision taking him out, not because I'm doubting George Kirby's ability to throw well.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then, [SPEAKER_00]: Munoz is as good of a reliever right now as anybody in baseball.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that pitching plan, it's going to be hard for the Tigers to score.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's I just think it's such a tight game.

[SPEAKER_01]: They gotta get really clever.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the fact that he was available and that, you know, they might to play Muñoz earlier, I think they're gonna get really creative.

[SPEAKER_01]: But to your point, I think the Tigers are going to get creative as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: Troy Mountain is proving to be a really fascinating weapon for them.

[SPEAKER_01]: He only threw 35 pitches last time out.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have a couple days.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think for him to get early today, it's to rust, see if he's available, Finn again will probably be available.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's gonna be all hands-on deck for them too.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Tigers have some options here and it's going to be interesting to see how hinge can manage that as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: And as we mentioned in the past like this bench is just a lot better where you can pinch it to my Jones and once you'll Perez in certain spots and it's just a more well rounded situation there.

[SPEAKER_01]: So.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see this Mariners offense fully get going here, but it just feels like they're all taken turns.

[SPEAKER_01]: My predictions tigers, I think Terri Scoob will go out there and says, you guys think I have a weakness.

[SPEAKER_01]: You think there's a team that can beat me consistently.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the best pitcher in the fucking planet.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's going to be the statement from him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they're going to try to match on the Mariners side with with [SPEAKER_01]: Castillo and the relief roll.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't how much experience do you have doing that?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we'll see out comfortable he looks.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it's a close one.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a really fun one.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the I think the Tigers out last them.

[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I I love that pitching plan from Seattle and their at home and they have hit school.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's it's funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is like the one team [SPEAKER_00]: ordained Thomas, but they don't have late Thomas.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's such a good game.

[SPEAKER_00]: What I will say is I think the tigers are overvalued.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like we're just talking about betting on.

[SPEAKER_00]: They shouldn't be minus 140.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's too much.

[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a part of me that wants to bet Seattle.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that's for another time.

[SPEAKER_00]: We won't clog everyone with betting stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go with the tigers.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I will say I was more [SPEAKER_00]: after really thinking about it, like I get it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Seattle can win this game.

[SPEAKER_01]: They could just listen to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very hot.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can have a big swing, Raleigh has a big swing, and uh, look, a coin.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is it gonna land on tigers?

[SPEAKER_00]: Or is it gonna land on Seattle?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I really think that's what it's going to come down to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I can't wait to watch.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I already want a fast forward to tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_01]: I could out wait.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a, again, I'm stamping.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be also one of the best games we've had in a while.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm looking forward to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: the place is off to such a great start.

[SPEAKER_00]: We really appreciate everybody coming in for these YouTube lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to battle, we're waking up, and we can create baseball tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_00]: That, thank you.
