[SPEAKER_01]: You can find me on Twitter at Eric Cross MLB and the show is at toolshed pod Going over my recently released September top 500 prospect rankings in this episode those came out on Monday on September 8 [SPEAKER_01]: record in this Monday night.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this episode is going live on Tuesday.

[SPEAKER_01]: So fresh rankings here, a lot of fun end of season updates.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we still got a little bit of minor league ball left few more weeks for most levels.

[SPEAKER_01]: So definitely have a little bit more movement here.

[SPEAKER_01]: But always a fun update to do end of the season.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously we got some [SPEAKER_01]: 25 drafties making their debut and some end to season breakouts that sometimes go unnoticed.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some of you, I mean, maybe not a lot of you listen to this, but some and people in general are checking out the football.

[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's September.

[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, baseball.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think is the best sport in the world, but I get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some y'all like football.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I like football too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't hit me wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, [SPEAKER_01]: these are the time, you know, this is the time of year where you can get some players, you know, whether you're in a more shallow, dinosaur league, deeper, dinosaur league, and this is the time of year where some of these guys can be sneaky ads or, you know, really help your team in the future, as soon as next year or so.

[SPEAKER_01]: keep that foot on the gas pedal, whether you're out of it, looking to build it for next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're still in it, pushing for, you know, head to head championship or, you know, roado championship, points league, you know, finishing in that money somewhere, you know, whatever you're trying to push for over the last few weeks of the season here, let's get it done.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, by again, let's do the top 500 September discussion for prospect rankings, but before we do, [SPEAKER_01]: the usual housekeeping.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's go over the top 25 here to start.

[SPEAKER_01]: No change at the top.

[SPEAKER_01]: One, two, is still Connor Griffin and Kevin McGonagall.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think those guys are pretty cemented in those top two spots for now.

[SPEAKER_01]: uh...

the both could debut some point next year for now into twenty six those are the top two guys chase burns you know i still have as i don't go off of the you know forty five days at the major league level service time things is really hard to calculate to figure out some time so i just go off of the one thirty and fifty so burns thank you graduated off of a lot of less that used to forty five days for me he has not the chase burns in the number three spot [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's there's a mod A number four.

[SPEAKER_01]: JJ weather hold number five Walker Jenkins number six Leo de Vries seven.

[SPEAKER_01]: No one McLean who has been absolutely beasting out at the major level is number eight.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sebastian Walcott down the nine Samuel Bessayo number 10.

[SPEAKER_01]: 11 through 15 is a Max Clark Thomas White Edward Florentino at Warto Quintero.

[SPEAKER_01]: and Jonathan 16th through 20, your suede de Paula, Luis Pena.

[SPEAKER_01]: Carson Bench, excuse me, you'll sway Brasignio and Zayer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hope, 21 through 25, Col.

[SPEAKER_01]: Emerson, Michael Royale, Dylan Beaver's South Stewart MP in Tolley.

[SPEAKER_01]: So again, Connor Griffin, McGonagall, Burns, Madda, Weatherholt, Jenkins, DeVries, McLean, Walcott, Bassayo, 10, Clark, White, Florentino, Contaro, [SPEAKER_01]: Tongue, they Paula, Peña, Bench, Bersignio, Hope at 20, Emerson, Arroyo, Beavers, Stuart, and Toley are my top 25.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so really fun top 25.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like every time we have the top tier of guys graduate like earlier on the season, it was Roman Anthony Christian Campal and all of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you kind of wonder like, is that next top tier going to be as exciting and I think it absolutely is being caught in a Griffin absolute stud Kevin McGonagall absolute stud.

[SPEAKER_01]: I saw Max Clark and McGonagall lead off the game last Friday night.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're here in Portland, eerie was here in Portland.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cork at home run to right, McGonagall went to left center.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that was really, really exciting.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see both those guys go back to back to lead off the game.

[SPEAKER_01]: So definitely still a very exciting top of the rankings here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, McLean having a huge, huge jump, but, you know, it's warranted.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe I had them too low previously, but with how he started in the [SPEAKER_01]: your long term and I'll probably talk with him in further detail and another episode later on this month and then to October as I do like rookie reviews and stuff like that obviously doing the positional prospect of Nazi rankings as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: So definitely we talking about McLean more than once over the next few months and into 2026.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Jonah Tong obviously getting a huge bump as well up into the top 15 there, Peyton Toli, South Stewart, I mean, Stewart is wildly underrated that power is legit.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think people think of him as, and even I was guilty of this, you know, earlier on as well where, ah, you know, it's a good hit too, but, you know, how much power does it get [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that power is legit.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, is he a stud in the power apartment?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, but this is above average the plus power too.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this could be just a really, really good bat that can see if you, you know, five to ten bags a year as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: Think of that bat in that ballpark.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think he's going to be a really good player for a really long time.

[SPEAKER_01]: So 24 might seem high for a self Stuart.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's warranted and, you know, Peyton totally.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, his second start wasn't great, but that first start going to show's.

[SPEAKER_01]: what he's capable of.

[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, it was against Pittsburgh.

[SPEAKER_01]: But hey, going toe to toe with Paul schemes and pitching extremely well on your major league debut is quite the feet.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Peyton told me deserves that top swan.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's always hard to sneak, you know, the last few guys in that top 25.

[SPEAKER_01]: You always want to put like 35 guys into the top 25.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not how math works unfortunately.

[SPEAKER_01]: So some guys that are just outside of it, definitely deserving as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: was good into some specific names here, some risers, some fallers.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll start with a guy that just missed, Charlie Condon, of the Colorado Rockies here, who's having this a really good resurgence season after that really down was it 25 games after the complex level.

[SPEAKER_01]: Last year, [SPEAKER_01]: really just not being the condom we kind of fell in love with coming out of Georgia in number one F.I.P.D.

[SPEAKER_01]: guy or in the discussion with Zana.

[SPEAKER_01]: I started off slow this year, didn't look good, you know, out in Arizona.

[SPEAKER_01]: but he's really come alive over the last few months, certainly hits him over the fence shots now, getting that home run total up.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's up the 13 home runs in 94 games, 10 and 50 games for double a Hartford with a 276, 385, 453 overall slash line.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the, you know, contact race dipped a little bit in AA, the K rate has gone up a little bit, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, he kind of has shown that he can make respectable contact, that's not really a major concern for me moving forward.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's around 71% this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Swing and strike rate isn't terrible, but 12.5%.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he walks out, he's getting back to walking out of good clip, getting back to what he was kind of doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: in, you know, college being that high OBP guy, and certainly, you know, really drive the ball more again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like this, the power, Rob Power has never even questioned, at least not for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now you're starting to see him tap back into that more consistently.

[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, I still think this is a 30 home or bat long term.

[SPEAKER_01]: And even if he's like, you know, we're around 70% contact rate at course, field with his power.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that could still be a 26270 average.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect him to be much of a runner and he never has been.

[SPEAKER_01]: Probably never will be, but I think this is again, 260 plus type of hitter, 30 plus home runs.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've got middle the order bats for the Colorado Rockies, but [SPEAKER_01]: It looks like, you know, first base is going to be his long-term home.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's not only playing much outside of first base lately.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it looks like, you know, after being, or maybe third in the outfield, no, actually it's going to be probably first base here for Charlie Condon.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's on the guy that's knocking on the door of that top 25 in the cluster of a bunch of power headers or else that my top 25.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's that absolutely pushing his way back up ranking.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, really encouraging to see him kind of bumping back up, you know, because I was obviously huge on him coming out of the draft.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was pro-Condon over Bazana and now they're actually pretty darn close in my overall rankings here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Condons, actually they're back to back at 29 and 30.

[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_01]: So back to being back to back after kind of a weird path to get back to the spot.

[SPEAKER_01]: After they're back to back in FYPD rankings, you know, about, you know, a year ago or [SPEAKER_01]: So Condon pushing back up next name here.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going Robbie Snelling who again, he was a guy that had a really good 2023 showing, but then kind of fell off in 2024 to the point where [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of people questioning, all right, is, you know, was this 2023 legit?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is he that good?

[SPEAKER_01]: You heard all the questions, but he has absolutely shown that, hey, that 2023 was legit.

[SPEAKER_01]: And 2024 is going to be out a lot of his minor league career where he had an ERA over five.

[SPEAKER_01]: compared to a eRi under two in 2023 when he was a 19 year old getting all the way to double A.

With this year, he's made 23 starts in between double A and triple A, 14 and double A, 9 and triple A, 2.66 eRi.

[SPEAKER_01]: 1.14 whip 152 strikeouts to just 35 walks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Fastball, mid-90s, good writing life, you know, up in the zone.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can really hit or swing underneath that fastball when he's locating it well.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that curve ball like he has you know a plethora of second areas like you'll go to the curve ball slider is a change up also can turn over the fore seem to go to see him sinker as well, but that fore seem curve ball like those are his bread and butter those at the pitches he goes to more often than not in that curve ball, you know, it's it's low 80s, you know, it's about 81 the 84 [SPEAKER_01]: or so, you know, heavy downward action on that breaking ball, real big swing and miss offering.

[SPEAKER_01]: And still showing that he's, you know, in the above average command and control guy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this guy throws a lot of strikes, but he's on a freight to, you know, take a breaker and go outside the zone with it to get the strike out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he's not an ace moving forward.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't like using that term lately, but this could be a good number too.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think all the upside is there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And plenty of upside, high floor, as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: Again, he's always been in the above average community control guy.

[SPEAKER_01]: who can also miss bats, little limit the damage against him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's only a lot of 10 home runs this year in 23 starts.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's good to see, obviously, pretty low walk rate as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he's no doubt top 10.

[SPEAKER_01]: pitching prospect right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's really any question about that with Robbie Stelling still only 21 years old, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now he feels like a guy should be at 2223 by now, but still only 21.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you can put him in the discussion for one of the two or three best lefties in the game.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously Thomas whites up there, you know, paying totally is up there, but, you know, I think you got to put Robbie Stelling in that discussion.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they've already said [SPEAKER_01]: but definitely probably an early 2025 debut, ETA full rubber stunts are probably one of the better rookie pitchers to target next year in redraft leagues and for those you play redraft.

[SPEAKER_01]: So definitely back full war on the rubber snuggling hype train here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was a big rubber selling guy a couple years ago.

[SPEAKER_01]: Did drop a number rankings last year kind of had to, but [SPEAKER_01]: I was always kind of feeling like, you know, he's going to bounce back.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it could be to this degree.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be honest there.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you're rubbing snowing, you know, definitely top 10 pitching prosecutor right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so on that, if you're a contending guy and see team, you know, it's not as good target regardless, obviously.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, frig.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you look for someone that's going to be up and giving you an impact next year, I think something's going to be one of the two or three best like 2026 rookie pitchers to target.

[SPEAKER_01]: So love Robby's snowing, but this next guy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Probably one of the biggest risers in general.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's Randy O'Reilly, guys, with the St.

[SPEAKER_01]: Louis Cardinals.

[SPEAKER_01]: He has been absolute beast this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: In 360 plate appearances between complex, low-A, then the last handful games in high-A, 276, 399, 555, flashlight, 22 doubles, 20 home runs, 54 walks to 65 strikeouts.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is a guy that's shown, you know, pretty solid power and, you know, the blend of power, contact and approach, you know, you saw that, you know, almost as many walks as straightouts this year and as 18 year old.

[SPEAKER_01]: In low A, he was rocking the hard hit rate around 40% average EV or an 80% amount of an hour barrel rate above 10%, you know, those aren't like, wow, eye popping, but for an 18 year old facing older competition, that's pretty solid right there and he was doing that with an above average zone contact rate 77% overall contact rate, you know, so that this guy, you know, right.

[SPEAKER_01]: I did not think that Rodriguez was going to be inside my top 50.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when the season started, I don't remember where I had him pre-season.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was even my 500, but he wasn't super high at all, but now he's top 50 for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: He is giving an exact number here where I put him 35 overall.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's been number three catching prospect right now and the two guys ahead of him.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure if they're catchers long term.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm not even fully sure if I read you as a catcher long term, but, you know, Bessayo and Perseignio are the two guys that are still, you know, catcher eligible on my spreadsheet.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: number three for our regas is still pretty damn good though and for a guy that again was not super high coming in this season.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's top 35 overall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's in the range with Robbie Snellings right in the right near him and you paint her, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: Emil Morales chased the louder, Travis Pazano, like this is the tier that he's in right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the radio route regas, I think it's legit.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like I said, not a runner at whatsoever.

[SPEAKER_01]: This guy is not going to give you any speed, but I think the bat is going to be really, really good of the blend of you advanced approach for his age.

[SPEAKER_01]: really exciting to see.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's plus power potential here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's a, he's a bigger guy, you know, kind of not ballastero size, but kind of like that thicker frame, you know, I've heard some people call him like baby budget regas stuff like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I can give you an example, you know, for those that haven't seen blood regas, but [SPEAKER_01]: The bat is absolutely really impactful right now, already at the high A as an 18 year old, he turns 19, not until January 4th.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: the entire year 18 and he'll be a young 19 next season starts and probably it's been I think the bulk of the season and hi, maybe with some double a in the end of the season next year for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: So already got us in the top 35.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know others have him higher and some people have him top 25 already.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the hype is there on on radio what regas for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's going to be one of those ones here at the buy high, but this might be an instance where buying high isn't a bad idea.

[SPEAKER_01]: is absolutely legit.

[SPEAKER_01]: Next game up, we're going to Arizona, Ryan, a Waltzman in the my top 50 now that number 41 is quietly putting up a really good year that I think it's being talked about nearly enough in a hundred to a nine games.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know I don't care about runs in our BI at all in the minor leagues, literally not even a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he's a 108 runs score in a 1209 game.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is pretty solid number there, a hundred and eight hundred to win nine games, 16 home runs, 28 steals with a 283, 417, a 460 slash line, 16.4% walk rate, 17 and a half percent strikeout rate, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: doing a bit of everything it's one of those profiles where there's not a wow tool but this is above average power speed guy that's making solid contact it's around 75% contact rate this year overall swing strike rate is below 10% you know so you can say it's probably above average contact [SPEAKER_01]: above the average raw power, above average to plus speed and given you a bit of everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Arizona is always one of the more exciting farm systems for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: They always seem to have some really exciting, especially on the hitting side, you know, prospects that are always popping up every year.

[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously law was still prospect eligible.

[SPEAKER_01]: People have their thoughts about him, but you know, Calbo was breaking out earlier this year than he cooled off, but he got JD Dix, Tommy Troy.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they just drafted well again.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're getting case on cunning him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Envolts from it now.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably going to be me still behind lower by five spots for me, but way things are going.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a good chance when I'm doing my off season team by team prospect rankings that Ryan Voltschman is the number one prospect in the Arizona system.

[SPEAKER_01]: And probably up next year too.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like he's going to start next year in Triple A.

He's been in double A for 61 games now.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I can see, you know, a mid 2026 ETA for Wallachman as well and it's being a really good five category contributor.

[SPEAKER_01]: No real red flags in the profile either.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's just a really solid five category guy, high floor solid ceiling as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I think he absolutely is deserving of being inside the top 50 right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Another catcher, a couple of catchers here early on in this episode that is just absolutely skyrocketing up my rankings right now and probably all everyone's rankings beyond us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Alfredo Duno of the Cincinnati Reds, who is now my number five catching prospect, two spots behind my regas with Moizus by the stereos in the middle of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Duno is pushing top 50 right now, [SPEAKER_01]: up to 58 overall after being outside my top 100 in my last update, but he has just been on an absolute tear and this year overall, the numbers are really cut overall this year too and not just because of the recent tear, but overall it's 287, 430, 518, slash line, 430, OBP.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this guy who had a 4151 OBP, [SPEAKER_01]: a couple years ago, and last year was 3.67.

[SPEAKER_01]: So always been high OPP guy, high walk rate guy, that's the case again this year, 19.2% walk rate for do know 18.4% KRA, so more walks and strikeouts, 18 homeruns, 32 doubles.

[SPEAKER_01]: two triple.

[SPEAKER_01]: So 52 extra base hits and 113 games.

[SPEAKER_01]: So little under one extra base hit every other game and that power.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, again, kind of similar, you know, being this a young guy, 19 in low A, but really starting to show that that the power up potential.

[SPEAKER_01]: with Duno as Roy Legit and he's been showing that this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: The context goes, leave a little bit to be desired though they are trending in the right direction.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lately, but the power, the 48 and the half percent heart hit rate, 14 and the half percent barrel rate and the average EV.

[SPEAKER_01]: over 91 miles an hour at this guy absolutely pummel's the ball he hits the ball at ideal angles as well and he regrets to that pull side pop maybe even a little too pull heavy at times he is around a 49% pull rate [SPEAKER_01]: That's not alarming, you may be a little high, but definitely knows how to maximize that power.

[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, he's showing an elite approach.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's cut the K rate by 10%, 10.4% of the exact.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's really exciting to see.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, increasing the walk rate, trimming the swing strike rate by 4.5%.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of good this year for Alfredo Duno.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he can do no wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't, I tried holding off undoing that joke.

[SPEAKER_01]: But hey, you guys know me, I'm a dad.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do dad jokes every now and then on this podcast.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just who I am, but yeah, Alfredo Duno is one of my favorite catching projects in the game.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think this is gonna be a top potential top 10 fantasy catcher down the road.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm very strong I think in the obviously has a long way to go.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's still not did he won't be up next year You know, this is the second full year at low-A See, it's probably not going to be up till mid to late 2027 But I really really like the bat here [SPEAKER_01]: with Duneau, you know, everything's trending in right direction, the powers really impressive.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the future home ballpark, you know, adds a little bit of extra excitement to the mix here with Duneau.

[SPEAKER_01]: And as he's definitely one to target heavily this off season in Dionece leagues.

[SPEAKER_01]: Next one here, another big jump.

[SPEAKER_01]: For a Kayla Bonamer is been kind of just every month is climbing another 30 40 50 spots My rankings another nearly 60 spot jump for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was 118 last month up to 60 this month [SPEAKER_01]: But he's been on fire lately, hitting, you know, for nearly a 700 slug over the last month, but for this season, 281, 401, 4473, and 107 games between low A and high A.

Most of that coming in low A, but the last couple of weeks, he's been up in high A as a 19 year old.

[SPEAKER_01]: 12 home runs, 29 steals been caught eight times.

[SPEAKER_01]: 15.8% walk rate and a 21.2% strikeout rates.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Caleb Bonumer, I mean, he's not another one that kind of Wallaceman that does not have any wow tool, but there's some power production here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is going to be in above average power bats.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's still got some projection left on the frame.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a little bit of bulk here.

[SPEAKER_01]: If he does, I think he absolutely will be in above average power bat, you know, like a 25, a load of mid 20s, homer type.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they're 30 plus or anything that, but load of mid 20s, I think is as fair.

[SPEAKER_01]: And not a burner, but you know, a decent enough runner where I think even if he does add a little bit of bulk, I still think he's a 10 to 15 still guy long term maybe more will see and kind of had a body progresses over the next year or two, but he's given a good little showing of everything right now in the minor leagues.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's walking in a high clip nearly 16% walk rate, keeping that carate and check at 21% That's nice to see.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's very poll-happy over 50% poll rate right now So I think that might be exploited here.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's something to kind of send something to monitor with him moving forward But you know does not swing a miss too often.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he is got that a little that I'll pull a bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's got a good veteran You know, kind of advanced mature approach [SPEAKER_01]: where he does not expand the zone too much.

[SPEAKER_01]: He limits the swing and mass.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's 8.4% swing strike rate this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: hits him on the ground a little bit too much as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: So look at me pulled ground balls.

[SPEAKER_01]: You want to see that you can think of that launch angle up a bit and maybe you see that power Royce or the takeoff in games.

[SPEAKER_01]: But so a lot to like here.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a above average contact rate as well around 77% this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: So really, a lot of good in the profile.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some additional projection could unlock further power here with Caleb Bonnermer.

[SPEAKER_01]: I like him a lot.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think he said be a really solid hitter maybe forming that left side of the infield for the future with Colson Montgomery for the White Sox long term.

[SPEAKER_01]: Again, he's another one that's still a couple years away, not neighboring next year, maybe you see him mid 2027 or something like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: But [SPEAKER_01]: Kila Bonamer really exciting all-round talent and pushing top 50 overall for me now Next guy up another hitter.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to you know, who's the next guy up here?

[SPEAKER_01]: I lost my spot.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Jacob Rhymer [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, who is now pushing, you know, top 70 overall at number 73 jumping up from 1-18 in my August update.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had a little bit of a little bit of a slow start once he got up to AA after, you know, a very strong performance in high A.

He was 284-384-502 in high A.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then after he kind of went through a little bit of a Justin period in AA, he's up to a 278-372-495 slash line in AA.

[SPEAKER_01]: So overall, 281-378-499, 17 homeruns, 15 steals, 32 doubles, a lot of x-ray assets, five triples as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he's got 54 extra base hits in 117 games, 11% walk rate 21.3% strikeout rate, let's say guy that has shown above average to plus power potential, you can run a little bit, he's far from a burner, he's below average runner.

[SPEAKER_01]: But showing the willingness to run where maybe he gives you 5 to 10 steals, you know, just a little something there if he's not, you know, total zero in the speed department, you know, this guy that's showing, you know, solid, you know, above average contact skills.

[SPEAKER_01]: And last year was run 77% contact rate this year, that a little bit but still a solid 75% contact rate with that 11% walk rate, 20% K rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: So keeps everything kind of, [SPEAKER_01]: in line with, you know, average or a being above average, no real red flags here either and another profile that's just, you know, this is when the guy's gonna talk about later where there's some big wet flags, you know, Jika Rymer does really know big wet flag.

[SPEAKER_01]: You may be able to say, [SPEAKER_01]: you know, who knows where his defense of home is, you know, the fielding for him, not the greatest heck he's not a stand up defender.

[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe he moves over has to move over the first base long term, who knows, but for now, you know, sticking at third base, and if he does stay at third base, I think the bat profiles pretty well there.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think this could be like a 55 hit, 55 power, [SPEAKER_01]: type of guy with above average approach as well who can give you again a handful of steals as well up to double a now as I mentioned So I assume he starts next year in triple a he's already been doubly for 56 games now and And maybe we see him next summer with the mats, you know, see who you know, who they bring back next year What spots are open, but I think he could see rhyme or mid season next year and you know, I think that bats is [SPEAKER_01]: definitely a potential impact bats at the highest level.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not a stud by any means.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think this is a lead prospect, but this is a really good bats and one that I don't think's getting talked about enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Jacob Rimer now pushing top 70 overall a couple guys pushing into the back end of [SPEAKER_01]: pop-up guys, younger guys, but guys that are just really exciting younger players, that's Nate George with the Baltimore Orioles, and Eline Pania with the New York Mets.

[SPEAKER_01]: Eline Pania had a couple of multi-hit, it was it, it was it too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was two, three home regames in the DSL this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think make sure I got that right, you know, which is just absurd.

[SPEAKER_01]: For that multiple three home regames in general in a season is something but to do it in the DSL, I mean, I get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: The pitching is not good in the DSL, but Pena is a really special talent here and I felt it was in a worthwhile to put him inside my top 100 overall [SPEAKER_01]: you had a really good season in the DSL this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: It has many walks of strikeouts 36 of each in 178 assuming on 223 plate appearances for 16.1% rate for both 292 421 528 slash line.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 13 doubles, nine home runs, 21 steals.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I think the speed won't be a big part of this game.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe he's a guy that gives you five to ten, but I think you're looking more at the back here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Both in terms of making contact.

[SPEAKER_01]: and power, he's already showing solid contact skills, advanced eye at the plate, doesn't chase us at the zone, too often, and again, he had two, three Homer games this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Which actually is really kind of funny because that makes up two thirds of his home run total overall with the nine home runs total, but, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: This is with a higher, you know, fly ball rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: He looks to get the ball in the air to his pole side, 48 and average at pole rate, 51% fly ball rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: So already showing that, you know, he can drive the ball in the air consistently and this definitely more projection on his frame.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's listed that five ten one eighty.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's maybe a little bit taller than that.

[SPEAKER_01]: don't think he's put on a lot of weight from that 180 to so far, but definitely a predictable frame.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's not like a super tall like 64 wallcott frame or anything like that, but definitely could add some good 15, 20 pounds of bulk.

[SPEAKER_01]: over an example of years, and if you used to be able to do so, continue to tap into that power without sacrificing contact and approach, you could be looking at 55 contact, 55, you know, 60 approach, 60 power, it's a really potentially special, you know, bat from the short supposition, you know, we'll see where he runs up on the field long term, but really exciting [SPEAKER_01]: is definitely one to target heavily this off season and the Nate George you know had he's been running wild this year 50 steals though running wild also kind of describes his nature on the base path in general because he has 25 caught stealing as well so he's been successful two thirds at the time that's kind of neat that needs to be cleaned up [SPEAKER_01]: uh...

there's no way around saying that needs to be cleaned up in the last year and i use thirteen on shipping up in the last year this is a debut here uh...

but complex thirteen of nineteen and low-way was twenty five thirty eight high-eight twelve out of eighteen so [SPEAKER_01]: Now on the plus side that shows that he's willing to run, he wants to run and run a lot and he's got good speed.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's no doubt about that, but you need to, you gotta clean it up, Nate.

[SPEAKER_01]: Again, you gotta clean it up in a base pass here or you won't get through in light nearly as often that will limit his potential in the stone-based department for fantasy, but this could be easily a 30 plus steel guy and if he's able to really get [SPEAKER_01]: a bit more like he's shown glimpses of having maybe even above average raw power down the road or even just average power But hasn't really tapped into that too consistently yet in games only five home runs so far and 87 games a share of the 170 plate appearances [SPEAKER_01]: You know, but context those are there too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like that in game power is really like the last piece of the puzzle here and he's you know, he's a little too ground ball happy, you know, 54% ground ball race so far in high a 47% overall, he's running above average 76 77% contact rate with that with that speed with power projection like if that again, if that power comes along for Nate George.

[SPEAKER_01]: he could be a top 25 overall prospect.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, hey, Baltimore, I graduated a lot of guys, but the next wave is coming through and Nate George is absolutely one of those names that I have top 100 right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure if he's a guy that's top 100 for a lot now, maybe some others have him top 200 right now, but I think he's absolutely worth it right now that the profile [SPEAKER_01]: It's really exciting and again, this could be a guy next year, if he starts hitting for some home runs next year, top 25 is definitely in reach for Nate George.

[SPEAKER_01]: So really fun player there.

[SPEAKER_01]: One more picture here, a big riser who I was absolutely too low on, that's Kate and Scarborough on the Texas Rangers, Texas, you know, they've created the way a lot of them, but Texas has done, I think, really well with pitching development, I don't think they get enough credit for it, you know, they've been developing a lot of guy, they've got Mitch brought, [SPEAKER_01]: Winston Santos, Devavio, and now Kate and Scarborough, so many, there's obviously, you know, the Vandy guys, Rocker and Lighter, there's been so many, it's really good under the radar, just not talked about enough Texas Rangers pitching prospects and Scarborough fits that bill right now, you know, in 20, [SPEAKER_01]: 21 starts, 88 total innings this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Most of which was in low A last three starts have been in high A.

He's rocking a 2.45 ERA overall 0.88.

[SPEAKER_01]: Whip, 178 batting average against 6.1% walk rate in a 33.2% strikeout rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of arm side movements on that pitch.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they really classify it as a two-seamer or not, but it looks like a two-seamer out of the hands, but, you know, he's got that broken forearm.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a really nasty sweep or so.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you look at a heat map or like a, you know, watch him tunnel the fast ball and the sweeper, they just dart hard to object size to the plates high spin sweeper, ton of sweep on that offering.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's his biggest swing and miss offering.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's also got a mid 80s, you know, that split change.

[SPEAKER_01]: that is shown improvement this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was like a distant third offering for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's still a third offering, but definitely has shown some improvement there to it being a liable third offering to kind of keep hitters off that fastball and sweeper.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he's up in my top 15 now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's not even high enough on Scarborough.

[SPEAKER_01]: But if he continues to show that that splitter, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, he keeps dominating as he keeps moving up here this guy could be a top 10 pitching prospect, you know, by let's say the middle next year by like the all star brick next year, I could easily see Scarwell being like my number eight or not in pitching prospect in my rankings.

[SPEAKER_01]: So definitely a name on the rise, a name I was a little bit too slow to, you know, push up as high as I have, but I, you know, more I dig into K and Scarborough kind of the more excited I get so definitely a name to target now is I still don't think the perceived value on K and Scarborough is as high as it probably should be.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, last rise here for I talk about a few names on going the opposite way.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, one Sanchez, I want to talk about briefly here with the Toronto Blue Jays 17.

[SPEAKER_01]: New Zoll, almost 18, you know, be 18 at the end of this month on the 27th of September.

[SPEAKER_01]: In the DSL level right now for the blue jays, he's finished up a really impressive DSL showing 341, 439, 565, slash lawn had a 156 WRC plus eight home runs four steels, four tripols, 16 doubles, 10.3% walk rate and a 17.4% strikeout rate with one Sanchez [SPEAKER_01]: It is 100% about the power, you know, present power and the power projection, as he's got one of those really, really exciting frames, you know, 63, like 175, 180, already pretty strong for his age.

[SPEAKER_01]: But there's a lot of project like he could add a good 20, 25 pounds of bulk, maybe even more than that.

[SPEAKER_01]: This could be one of those like physically imposing, you know, and the more that I push of them off, shorts up or not, but let's just say shorts up for now, you know, physically imposing, short stop prospects that just really are carried by their bats because [SPEAKER_01]: with how much power he already has shown, power projection, you know, this is a solid hitter, as well, he goes beyond just being a, you know, big power projection guy.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's shown a good field of hit, you know, good zone awareness, good bat to ball skills.

[SPEAKER_01]: He can, you know, he can drive the ball to all fields.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he does love to get to that pole side power, but this is potentially a really, really special bat.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think, [SPEAKER_01]: that there's ever a lot of speed element to the profile.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, especially if he bulk's up, he's already not like the quickest guy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if he bulk's up, then maybe he's only giving you a handful of steals here and there.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I really think that [SPEAKER_01]: he's gonna be what Toronto fans had hoped a relvist Martinez was what they're still hoping that urgent tomorrow like I'll say it now I think give it a year maybe not even I think you see and this is not really a slight than the mall but I think you see Sanchez right ahead of them all [SPEAKER_01]: by this time next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, mark it down, episode 4, 11 in the tool shed, Eric said this, look back in next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: You see, they got to look really well or make me look like an idiot, who knows?

[SPEAKER_01]: But I do strongly about that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's more a, you know, a praise for Sanchez as opposed to a, you know, even though I'm not the biggest Demolica, that wasn't a sled in the mall.

[SPEAKER_01]: This shows like there's a lot of potential here the one Sanchez.

[SPEAKER_01]: I bumped him up a good bits in this last update.

[SPEAKER_01]: He is now at 156 overall and I wanted to put him even higher.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, let's not go too crazy yet, but this could easily be a couple hundred guy right now and I won't scoff that out.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you told me, hey, I have Sanchez at 94.

[SPEAKER_01]: I went scoff at it and I'm probably going to bump him a good bit higher, you know, before, you know, the end of the season or.

[SPEAKER_01]: When I start going through my offseason rankings, I can see him by beginning of next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, all right, screw it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm putting them top 100 because I like the bat that much the bat looks really, really special or potentially really, really special down the road.

[SPEAKER_01]: So one Sanchez big, big potential guy to get in on now.

[SPEAKER_01]: before we cost a top 100 or higher price tag in dinosaur leagues.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, in the mallet is one that is kind of fell a good bit, but you know, I would possibly look to buy low on an origin in the mallet, and again, I've never been as high on him as most, I will say, you know, add that little caveat in there.

[SPEAKER_01]: It may be it's just me with, you know, second guessing myself after a Elvis Martinez, who I had a hard time ranking, but I was always lower on a Elvis the most and that's worked out because he's kind of falling off the cliff, but, you know, this is not the same type of player, but, you know, the mall has struggled.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of gone into a big funk.

[SPEAKER_01]: over the second half of the season.

[SPEAKER_01]: But overall, it's still 13 home runs, 17 steals.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, still a solid like 72, 73% contact rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, not a huge strike got right.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, if you're striking out a time that he was last year, I'd be more concerned.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's 21.4% strike up rate, 10.1% walk rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: And again, he's 19 in high A.

So, 224, 313 and 380 when Salashana is a standout.

[SPEAKER_01]: Again, he struggled over the second half of the season, but I still think this is a potential top 50 guy, you know, he's not top 50 for me right now, but I could see him bumping back up into my top, you know, 50 overall, you know, next season.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, I guess it all depends on where the perceived value is, you know, league, obviously, because he's been, you know, a big prospect named for last year or two, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, a guy that's, you know, I think has a lot of believers, I'm not saying I'm not a believer, but maybe, you know, that value in that price, I could still already top 50, that's the case, and maybe don't go after him, but if he's going to fall on off and, you know, you can get him for a little bit of this count, then I won't be opposed to going out and trying to trade for our agenda, Mala, this off season.

[SPEAKER_01]: Last couple of names here.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Kim Collier is a guy that he's been a really weird one to evaluate because there's a lot of questions on whether the both the hit tool in the power will be there is a lot differing opinions over the years.

[SPEAKER_01]: on whether it all would come together with the bats.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this year, context has been fine, 72, 73%.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, fall enough a little bit in AA, but, you know, not, you know, a concerning contact rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the key rate has jumped to 26.3% this year, still walking at time.

[SPEAKER_01]: but the power has just not been there.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's only at three home runs in 372 plate appearances this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Only one in 284 plate appearances in AA and that's kind of the concern right now is just how much power does he get to ultimately?

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the bad-a-ball angles have them in the greatest, you know, with too many ground balls.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not enough, you know, pulled fly balls, but, you know, he needs the power to be there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's both the hit tool and the power to be there because this is not a guy that's going to give you any sort of speed, not even the handful of steals.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a guy that just does not run.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's got one steal this year, but this guy that just does not run at all.

[SPEAKER_01]: So don't expect any of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So right now, given this, [SPEAKER_01]: all the concerns as the right word, but just my slight doubts that it just all comes together with the bat, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: whether the in-game power doesn't get to a level where he can be impactful, you know, with a context skill, it's kind of stay in the low 70% range.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, just that combination of some of those concerns I have, some of those questions I have with Cam Collier.

[SPEAKER_01]: He pushed out 7,100 at this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's pretty close to the top 100.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's still in the top 125, but Cam Collier no longer [SPEAKER_01]: 100 for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I'd mentioned it already in tweets, but Spencer Jones way back down my rankings.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's still 100, but can he just, I just want the Yankees to promote him, and I don't even care how he does at this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't want after ranks, but your Jones anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is never meant a more frustrating player, more difficult player prospects specifically for me to rank in my entire time doing rankings.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, nobody even comes or motely close to the level of frustration I have with Spencer Jones because you see the upside.

[SPEAKER_01]: We saw him going like a very bunzy in the run, you know, July and early August where it was.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then now he's back to his old ways with a carate way over 40% over the last few weeks.

[SPEAKER_01]: So was it all right, was was that just some garage was the, you know, the that carate going down and the contact rates going up, but that just, you know, a minor, you know, surge in the middle of a big picture of scrap contact, like it's not even below average contact with Spencer Jones and again, it's fluctuated throughout the year, but overall.

[SPEAKER_01]: you're looking at a contact rate below 60%.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see, oh, it's just slightly above 60%.

[SPEAKER_01]: But overall, I mean, we'll see around 60%.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not great.

[SPEAKER_01]: If it was around 70%, but signing me up all day, we've seen that work with PowerHeaders, Yankee Stadium, LeftyBat, Elite Power, that would work without question.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, [SPEAKER_01]: having a contact rate around 60% having a swing the strike rate around 20% and just striking out way too often overall this year 35% strikeout rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but he's still, you know, 272 361 577 because he hits the crap out of the ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lead, a lead quality contact.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, running a little bit of a higher babbip as well, factors in.

[SPEAKER_01]: 33 home runs, 20, 60 hills.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you look at this surface task and this is super exciting.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the upside is a stud.

[SPEAKER_01]: It really is, but for Jones to get there, he needs the context goes to take up into at least the upper 60s.

[SPEAKER_01]: Get that zone closer to 80% zone contact.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, closer to 80% overall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's put the skips and goals here.

[SPEAKER_01]: If we can get Jones settling in as 80% of his own and 68 plus percent overall, he's a stud.

[SPEAKER_01]: But can he get to 68% contact?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can he get the 65% contact?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: So just I need him to graduate and get off my damn prospect rankings.

[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, back down for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then the last name here, he kind of wondering, hey, why didn't Eric say this name in his top 25, which I already got some comments on today.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when I posted the overall, and that is Lizara Montes, who is not far outside of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I didn't have a massive drop for Lizara Montes, but he is down [SPEAKER_01]: overall last month.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's because the surface has been mostly pretty good to artist careers at 32 home runs this year, which I remember that leads to minor leagues or it's right up there, if you get who's an Orion wards up there, a couple others.

[SPEAKER_01]: But 32 homerons, 80 in our BI has been a beast this year, but he's earning a 29.2% strike out rates.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just took up the 31.1% in AA, he's slashing 212 307 452 in AA.

[SPEAKER_01]: with a contact rate below 60%.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this guy has run lower contact rates and his entire minor league career.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's always had a higher babbit plus the power, which is contributed to him having at least an average for the most part.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the contact sales have always been a bit of a concern in this year, even more so.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was around 66% contact in high A and again, [SPEAKER_01]: dumped down below 60% in AA with a swing strike rate of 19 and a half percent.

[SPEAKER_01]: Really fun power.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is a potential 35 to 40 homer bats without question, but I just have a lot of questions about where the average is.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right now, I'm questioning whether he's more of a 230 guy than a 260 to 270 guy.

[SPEAKER_01]: If he's 260 to 70, [SPEAKER_01]: with 35 plus one runs, boom, absolute, top 100 overall fantasy guy, stud, power bat for fantasy purposes, but I don't know if he gets to that level that people want him to get to in the average apartment.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he'll be more of an asset in OBP formats.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's always at a high walk rate.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's been very consistent.

[SPEAKER_01]: There was mildly career, you know, 12, 13, 14%.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it gets a little bit of a bump in OBP formats, but I have some questions as to where the average ones up [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not so sure it's more than two 30 right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I mean still top 50 still top 40 overall But had definitely some concerns with was our Montez.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he's more of a sell-high this off season for me If he can but if you want hold on to him to see the corrects the issues and make some improvements next year totally fine with that because still love the power bat and think he could be [SPEAKER_01]: a real high impact bat if those contact skills and, you know, straight out swing and miss issues get rectified some degree next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, not saying I don't end by any means, but definitely there's some concerns there that I just don't think get talked about enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, that is going to wrap me up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Again, my full top 500 is out on my Patreon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Two Shed Fantasy.com.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got it pinned in my Twitter bio right now as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: Full top 500.

[SPEAKER_01]: Got Dynasty Rankings coming up soon.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll be back with you again later this week with another episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got a guest lineup for that one, really fun guest.

[SPEAKER_01]: But until then, everyone take care.
