The January 5 edition of Y’s Guys kicks off 2026 by celebrating one of the most successful stretches in BYU sports history. Dave and Blaine open with the national impact of BYU Football’s Pop-Tarts Bowl win over Georgia Tech, highlighted by massive TV numbers — 8.7 million viewers, making it the most-watched bowl game in BYU history. The hosts break down what the bowl season taught us about the Big 12, while also examining significant coaching staff changes under Kalani Sitake, including departures to Michigan and new roles within the program.

The show then shifts to the hardwood, where BYU Basketball continues its surge. The Cougars sit at 13–1, riding a 10-game winning streak — their longest since Jimmer Fredette’s senior season — and preparing for a massive Big 12 home opener against Arizona State.
