In Major League Baseball, the Boston Red Sox beat the first-place Tampa Bay Rays for their 13th consecutive victory, tying the second-longest winning streak in franchise history. Sonny Gray improves to 12-1 and Willson Contreras homers as Boston wins for the 18th time in 20 games.

The streak sets up a compelling series against Baltimore after the Orioles earn their seventh straight victory. On the court, Golden State rallies in the fourth quarter to beat Memphis for the NBA Summer League championship. The Warriors earn their first Summer League title since 2013.

The NFL section covers the appeal of Arizona Cardinals scouting director Ryan Gold’s indefinite suspension. Gold’s attorney denies the league’s allegations that he shared confidential draft information and participated in football-related parlays. The NFL says no games were affected and no other Cardinals personnel were involved.

The show closes at Royal Birkdale, where Ryan Fox wins The Open with a birdie on the 18th hole. Fox begins the week far down the leaderboard before shooting a record-tying 62 on Saturday and birdieing 4 of his final 6 holes Sunday to become only the second New Zealander to win the championship.
