In this episode of Vera House Unscripted, we discuss a range of Richmond topics including Amazon drone delivery, the Night Doctor's remains finally returning to Richmond, the end of Asante's and The Daily's Carytown era, the RVA couples list, and whether anything made today is made to last.

We start at the Valentine, where a behind-the-scenes tour gave Myke the treasure-hunting bug — meat juice, the gun hole, and centuries of Richmond history hiding in plain sight — before diving into the Night Doctor and the update that changes the story: the remains found beneath MCV are coming home, a $3.6 million memorial site is approved, and a second well is still buried under the Kontos building.

Later in the episode, we look up. Amazon is bringing drone delivery to the Richmond region, Henrico and Hanover first, and we're not sure we asked for this version of the future. From the sky we go to the street: the GRTC crash that triggered a "mass casualty" declaration, why that phrase means less than it sounds, and why everything new — cars with subscription key fobs, Target, new houses — feels like it's built to fail while the old stuff refuses to die.

The second half is pure Richmond. Asante's is gone, The Daily is closing its Carytown doors to become something new, and we pay respects to the pizza places that raised us. Then the internet's "successful couples by city" list gets the RVA treatment, feral possum and river rat included. We close on a Richmond doctor who woke up with a bat in her mouth, and the strange economics of the rabies shot.

Topics include Amazon drone delivery, Henrico, Hanover, Richmond Raceway, the Night Doctor, MCV, the Smithsonian, the Valentine, meat juice, the gun hole, Asante's, The Daily, The Pizza Place, Carytown, the RVA couples list, GRTC bus crash, mass casualty incident, Tesla self-driving, subscription cars, and the bat in the mouth doctor.
