Episode Description
(710 – ~751 CE with mentions of events from earlier centuries · Spain, The Holy Land, France, & Rome)
The Narrator relates how he changed lives from operating as a successful horse ferryman between North Africa and Spain to working as a tinker in Jerusalem, and the tragedy that unfolded when his elderly 'widow' from his earlier life found him alive and unchanged decades later. He also discusses the origins and early history of the Franks, and how the Papacy came to have an unexpected influence over the old western European half of the Roman Empire, which was coming to be called Christendom.
Based on Chapter 6 of End by Geoff Micks.
