Science is crucial for evidence-based decision-making. Public trust in scientists can help decision makers act on the basis of the best available evidence, especially during crises. The good news is in a recent survey Ireland does very well in trusting scientists ranking 14th out of 68 countries, and is second in the EU after Spain.
