Mathew Stubbs was working corporate and playing plus-one handicap amateur golf on the Gold Coast. Twelve months later he was on the World Long Drive Tour in Mesquite, Nevada, hitting a golf ball over 400 yards against the best in the world.

His first amateur event was the first time he had ever seen his own long drive ball flight in the air. Australia does not have a driving range long enough for what he does.
