Today is an anniversary I'd prefer that we not recognize. But we must, because the insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol five years ago today and their criminal leader would like nothing more than for us to move on and forget it ever happened. We can't and we won't. Because, if we do, we surrender and declare our democracy dead. That, we refuse, now and forever.
