The International Energy Agency reports that investment in advanced geothermal technologies is growing sharply, totaling US$ 2.2 billion worldwide in 2025, up 80% year-on-year since 2018.  This investment in the energy sector’s ‘technologies of tomorrow’ is in addition to the US$ 5 billion sourced for conventional geothermal power projects in 2025, and a further US$ 11.5 billion secured for district geothermal heating plants worldwide.
