How Is He Podcast | Ep. 126
Podge & Guich are joined today by someone who has spent years working behind the scenes and on the front lines of sport, fitness and high-performance environments. Helping athletes, teams and organisations perform at their very best. Alan Malone.
He’s worked across a seriously impressive list of teams, including Laois, the Carlow Hurlers, Longford Footballers, Meath Ladies Footballers and Wexford FC Women, and he’s currently working with the Wexford Men’s Footballers.
But his experience goes way beyond the sideline.
Alan has held roles including Sport Scholarship Officer with SETU Waterford, Operations Manager with the Camogie Association and Manager at the National Indoor Arena. He’s currently Registrar of REPs Ireland, the Register of Exercise Professionals, while you might also spot him behind the scenes helping with match-day production in Croke Park.
Academically, Alan has a Degree in Sports Management and Recreation from SETU Waterford, along with a Masters in Strength and Conditioning from SETU Carlow.
So whether it’s strength and conditioning, sporting operations, governance, event management or creating the right environment for people to perform, Alan has pretty much covered it.
And today, the lads are going to find out what goes on behind the scenes of elite sport, the people, and experiences that have shaped his career.
