Episode Description

This week Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Paddy McGuinness are joined by superstar singer Niall Horan on the pod.

Niall discusses his love for Derby County and Malcolm Christie, reveals how he turned up hungover at Chelsea for knee rehab under the watchful eye of José Mourinho and the subtle ways José showed his authority. He also talks about his awe for Roy Keane and debates whether he’d rather have been a pop star or a Premier League footballer.

Meanwhile, Paul reflects on the huge reaction to his heartfelt comments about his son’s autism recently, before sharing why much of his football career wasn’t as enjoyable as you would think. Nicky recalls hang-gliding in Rio with Keane (and nearly being caught by Fergie), while Paddy remembers the night he shared a moment with Prince Harry in a nightclub and Jamie Carragher doing the Toxteth Tango in a dance-off  a Brazilian legend.

Plus, the lads imagine Niall and Paddy’s pro football careers as written by ChatGPT, with one ending up as a superstar with "Jack Grealish energy" and the other a lower league midfield journeyman. They also react to the breaking news that Gary O'Neil could be returning to Wolves, Scholesy reveals his odd superstition from his playing days, and Paddy ends up needing emergency physio mid-show.
