Episode Description
What does a luxury kitchen designer do when she leaves the showroom?
She goes home to cows, goats, chickens, dogs, and a five-acre farm.
In this episode of the Gold Coast Podcast, Eric Winegard sits down with Jamie Janson, Owner of Curated Kitchen Co., to discuss luxury kitchen design, entrepreneurship, branding, marketing, farm life, marriage, money, and building a business that still feels authentic.
Jamie explains how Curated Kitchen Co. works with homeowners, builders, and interior designers throughout Palm Beach County. Her team specializes in cabinetry design, floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, countertops, backsplashes, hardware, and helping clients turn their ideas into a cohesive kitchen or bathroom design.
She also explains the difference between a kitchen designer and a general contractor, and why the design process must happen before demolition, electrical work, plumbing, installation, and construction begin.
Jamie shares why she rebranded the business from SoFlo Home Design to Curated Kitchen Co. The original name made interior designers believe they were competing with another design firm. The new name made the company’s cabinetry and kitchen expertise much clearer and helped attract the relationships Jamie actually wanted.
The conversation also explores how luxury clients make purchasing decisions, why Instagram often confirms credibility rather than generating the initial lead, and why print marketing, referrals, local events, and repetition still matter.
Outside of work, Jamie lives on a farm with her husband, four cows, two goats, approximately 20 chickens, and two dogs. She explains why she values stability over appearances, avoids unnecessary debt, and would often rather invest in another animal than another luxury purchase.
