What actually happens inside a modern YMCA?

Jason explains that the Peter Blum Family YMCA in Boca Raton can see more than 2,000 people walk through its doors in a single day, ranging from young children to seniors. The YMCA provides preschool, after-school programs, summer camps, basketball, soccer, volleyball, aquatics, leadership development, senior wellness, and programs for children with special needs. 

They also discuss why several local YMCA programs have reached capacity, the preschool waiting list, plans to expand the Boca facility, water safety and drowning prevention, and why social connection and belonging are increasingly important for people at every stage of life.

Jason also shares some of the YMCA’s remarkable history, including its connection to the invention of basketball and volleyball, and explains why the organization’s mission continues to evolve while remaining focused on serving the entire community.
