They Spent a Decade Watching People Decline, Then Built This | Ornela Rothermel & Diana Ustayev
Episode Description
What happens when you spend years seeing what poor health, aging and burnout can eventually look like?
In this episode of the Gold Coast Podcast, Eric Winegard, CEO of Rare Blue Moon Marketing, sits down with Ornela Rothermel and Diana Ustayev, owners of Five Elements Spa, for a conversation about wellness, entrepreneurship, aging, self-care and building a completely new business after years in healthcare.
Before Five Elements, Ornela and Diana helped build a large home health and hospice operation that they say eventually employed roughly 3,000 people and carried approximately $2 million in weekly payroll. Their experiences in that industry gave them a very different perspective on health, and ultimately helped inspire the concept behind Five Elements.
They discuss why taking care of yourself should begin before something goes wrong, the connection between physical and emotional well-being, the rise of longevity and wellness services, the importance of medical oversight, and why they wanted to create one location where clients could access a wide range of wellness and aesthetic services.
They also share the entrepreneurial journey behind purchasing and transforming an aging Deerfield Beach property into a roughly 14,000-square-foot wellness destination, and why they still feel like they’re only getting started.
