Episode Description
He almost sold his company for $400,000. Years later, buyers were approaching him with offers nearing nine figures, and he decided he still didn’t want to sell.
In this episode of the Gold Coast Podcast, Eric Winegard, CEO of Rare Blue Moon Marketing, sits down with Luke Lewis, CEO and founder of Native Pest Management, to break down the unconventional journey behind one of Florida’s rapidly growing pest-control companies.
Luke shares how his original career path with the FBI changed, why he started a pest-control company despite having no previous experience in the industry, and the unexpected decision that forced him to learn digital marketing, SEO, and sales. After moving roughly 500 miles away from a business with only five employees, Luke could no longer solve every problem himself, and that constraint ultimately helped change how he built the company.
Today, Luke says Native Pest Management has roughly 140 employees, is on pace for approximately $24 million in annual revenue, and has a long-term goal of reaching $100 million by 2032.
He also explains why he has resisted acquisition offers approaching nine figures, how his daughter changed the way he thinks about selling, why founders can become their own biggest bottleneck, and the marketing principles that helped Native Pest continue scaling.
