He Started With a Ziploc Bag and Built FROPRO | Matthew Williams

Episode Description

Before FROPRO was a brand, it was a homemade peanut butter snack packed inside a Ziploc bag.

In this episode of the Gold Coast Podcast, Eric Winegard sits down with Matthew Williams, Founder and CEO of FROPRO, for the story behind the product and the completely unexpected journey that created it.

Matt shares how getting sober in 2010 forced him to start his life over at 28 years old. While rebuilding, he began training clients around South Florida and making peanut butter protein snacks for himself. He carried them in his backpack while biking between clients, and eventually people started asking what he was eating. One person shared it with another, stores became interested, and what started as a homemade snack gradually became FROPRO.

Matt also opens up about addiction, accountability, the people who believed in him when he didn’t believe in himself, entrepreneurship, marriage, mentorship and why overcoming rock bottom can completely change the way someone approaches risk.

Today, FROPRO produces its snacks locally, offers multiple flavors, and Matt still operates his boutique gym alongside the business.
