What does AI actually look like inside a modern dentist’s office?

In this episode of the Gold Coast Podcast, Eric Winegard sits down with Dr. Joshua Etman, General Dentist and Owner of Boca Dental Group, to talk about how technology is transforming dentistry and what that means for patients.

Dr. Etman explains how his practice uses AI to reevaluate dental X-rays as an additional set of eyes, along with digital scanners, 3D printing, cone-beam CT imaging, and digitally planned implant procedures. He also discusses same-day crowns and how newer technology is reducing the need for some of the traditional impressions and processes patients may remember from older dental offices.

Joshua also shares his journey from Brooklyn to New Hampshire, Las Vegas, and ultimately Boca Raton, where he purchased a long-standing dental practice in 2021 and began modernizing the office.

They also discuss growing a family-owned practice alongside his wife, orthodontist Dr. Kayla Bateman, balancing investment with smart business decisions, patient experience, marketing a dental practice, and why respecting a patient’s time has become one of the core principles of Boca Dental Group.
