February 22, 2026: Michigan State finished its home stand with a win over a depleted Buckeyes team on Sunday afternoon, 66-60. But it was not an easy win as they struggled shooting from the field and defending the penetration from Bruce Thornton who kept easily getting into the lane to score. In fact, MSU trailed 26-23 at the break and took until mid way through the second half to take back the lead from Ohio State.

OSU was without their second and third leading scorers (Mobley and Royal) yet managed to push the Spartans behind a herculean effort from Thornton of 32 points. Carson Cooper had a good offensive performance of 20 points and Jordan Scott added 12 more to propel Michigan State to the win. It moves the Spartans to 22-5 overall and 12-4 in the league before heading to Purdue and Indiana for their next two games.
