In this critical Case Brief, we return to Fairfax, Virginia, for the emotional sentencing of Juliana Magalhães, the co-defendant of Brendan Banfield in the brutal murder of Joseph Ryan and Christine Banfield.

Magalhães took a plea deal, reducing her charge from intentional homicide to manslaughter in exchange for her cooperation with the Commonwealth (including testifying truthfully at Banfield's trial). The prosecution recommended a sentence of time served but the judge ultimately decides the sentencing.
