Dr. Nikki Lane is an interdisciplinary scholar trained as a Cultural and Linguistic Anthropologist, working along the edges of academia making contemporary critical theory accessible, using common sense, everyday language that anyone can understand. Dr. Lane is an Assistant Professor at Duke University and is an advisor for DiVerity.
So, what IS “intersectionality” anyway? A lot of people have attached their own ideas to the term since Kimberlé Crenshaw coined the term in 1989 and while language of course changes as people use it, when there’s money to be made companies and organizations often add their own twist on things.
