During the late 19th century, there still remained a pervasive fear throughout rural Ireland about fairy changelings, who were said to steal your loved ones, and replace them with inhuman duplicates. It was this sort of fear that would drive a man named Michael Cleary to commit a truly horrible crime against his own wife, Bridget.
