James and a friend were walking through the woods near their home in Thundersley, Essex, when they encountered a strange child in tattered Victorian clothing, peering at them from behind a tree. For years it was just a creepy story they’d tell at parties. But then, James found a book about Essex hauntings that revealed the dark history of those woods and made them rethink who they'd seen that night.

Then, we hear from Marque, a volunteer at the notoriously haunted Rhode Center for the Arts in Kenosha, Wisconsin. One night, he entered the basement looking for a prop but found something else instead: a shadow figure standing in the doorway, blocking his way out. When a friend later asked what he'd do if it followed him home, Marque laughed and said that he wished it would. That wish was granted.
