It begins with a borrowed little black dress, a pair of too-big heels, and a last-minute assignment as Bono’s personal waitress at the opening-night party for Spider-Man on Broadway. A few weeks later, the man I had just started dating unknowingly brought me right back to Bono—with 35,000 screaming U2 fans along for the ride.
It’s a story about New York magic, wonderfully specific coincidences, and the moments that only reveal their meaning in retrospect. Because sometimes what we miss most about a place is the person we were while we lived there—and sometimes remembering her is an invitation to become her again.
