Spike and Jonny kick things off with Pebble Beach plans for the 75th Concours d'Elegance including skipping the Quail to play tennis like civilized people. Jonny recalls the soul-crushing embarrassment of stalling a Pagani Zonda F Roadster at the factory, and Spike brings up Jerry Seinfeld's pre-race nerves with his 908/3.
On the car front: Johnny drove the Mercedes VLE electric van in Spain:(think Toyota Alphard energy, but German and plugged in) and came back impressed. The AMG GT 63 Pro gets a proper breakdown: 603 hp, 627 lb-ft, and enough German naming conventions to fill a dictionary. Then there's the Porsche 992.2 GT3 Touring in Gentian Blue: $240K base, a $38K Leichtbau package that sheds a whopping 48 lbs, and a new digital tachometer that somehow makes it even more desirable.
They also get into Porsche's one-of-one Toy Story character cars (silly) vs. the Earl's Court '51 Edition GT3 (very much not silly), pitch a Breaking Bad 'Walter White' Porsche spec that nobody asked for but everyone wants, and confirm their attendance at the Audrain Concours in October.
On the tech and culture side: a Jalopnik breakdown of EV battery emissions shows dirty manufacturing evens out within two years of driving. Meanwhile, a 404 Media investigation reveals roadside cameras aren't just reading plates, they're pulling infotainment data, pet microchips, Bluetooth IDs, and fitness tracker signatures to build consumer profiles. And the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is now a swamp. Spike wants to fish it.
