Released in 2023, V/H/S/85 stands out as a remarkably solid, often brutal, found-footage anthology. What truly elevates this installment is its consistent and successful capture of the distinct 1980s analog aesthetic. I was particularly captivated by the meticulous technical details; the subtle shimmers of analog tape and the intentional glitches were a nostalgic symphony, enhancing the immersive experience. I honestly wasn't anticipating such deep engrossment simply due to the format, yet there's an undeniable synergy between the found-footage style and the unique charm of the '80s that makes it incredibly compelling.
