The mythological and philosophical heart of the book!
The theme of my podcasts and readings of turn of the 20th century anthropomorphic stories from Kenneth Grahame, Thornton W. Burgess and Beatrice Potter are a homage to the types of stories that I liked and read as a youth and my pervading love of animals.
I use the experience that I gained in college and afterwards of being involved in the presentation of the Shakespeare plays Much Ado About Nothing and Midsummer Nights Dream to bear on the interpretation of the authors from the United Kingdom. The many classes that I took in biological sciences, at the college level will help me have a breadth of understanding that span the ecosystems that I will present in these readings.
I desire to bring both sympathy and awareness to the theme of habitat restoration after our almost complete degradation of our environments. I desire to show that the elimination of keystone species such as the beaver in both the British Isles and North America caused a tremendous amount of degradation and loss to those habitats without regard to how the effect would cause fundamental shifts in the whole ecosystem!
I find that my 'flair for the dramatic' and my long years of work in front of microphones and behind them on the editing boards helps me ascertain the best sounding presentation of the written words of the wonderful authors and, I hope, brings a lighthearted interpretation of of their works!
