Chronicles of the Nildorin - Solid10 D&D Campaign - Episode 28 Session 56, Part 2

The dust settles, but the aftermath of the fight below Whitemaw is far from over. Wounds are tended, comfort is offered in whatever form it takes, and the companions lean on each other as the adrenaline finally starts to fade. Even in the quiet, there's work left to do, and no shortage of gentle teasing to fill the space while everyone catches their breath and takes stock of just how close that fight really was, and what it cost them.

With the danger passed, grim curiosity takes over as the party turns to the fallen dragon itself. Trophies are claimed, favors are called in, and a few questionable decisions are made in the name of thoroughness. Some things are best left to those who know what they're doing - and some things really aren't, as more than one member of the party discovers the hard way while getting a little too hands-on with the remains. Paladin codes get tested, and mostly bent, in the pursuit of a good souvenir.

Deeper inside the creature, something unexpected is uncovered, warm and glowing where it has no business being. It's a discovery that raises more questions than it answers, and one that hits closer to home for at least one member of the party than anyone anticipated, stirring memories that had only just started to settle after everything the group has already been through together. What it means, and what it might do, is anyone's guess for now.

The Baron arrives to survey the damage and discuss what comes next for Whitemaw, its people, and the gaping wound left beneath the chapel. Old apologies are offered, old names are mentioned, and news of a missing friend adds new weight to the road ahead, along with a quiet reminder that the town's troubles may be far from finished and that the skies themselves now bear watching for whatever else might come crawling up from below.

In a rare moment of stillness, the party takes stock of everything they've been through and everything still waiting for them. Bonds are reaffirmed, doubts are voiced, and a strange new connection begins to make itself known in ways nobody expected - literally changing the shape of things to come, one touch, and one color, at a time, in front of an audience that isn't quite sure what to make of it.

As the session draws to a close, an old and unsettling voice returns, forcing difficult questions about trust, family, and just how much of the past is willing to let go. Not every answer brings peace of mind, and not everyone in the room is ready to accept what they're hearing, no matter how sincere it sounds or how much has changed since they last heard it.
