Morning breaks gently as The Nildorin awaken in the forest cabin, rain tapping softly against the roof and the smell of cooking bacon filling the air. For a brief moment, the dangers of the road feel distant, replaced by warmth, routine, and familiar banter shared among companions who have survived far worse together.

As the party prepares to depart, quiet conversations unfold over breakfast. Old wounds are acknowledged, new questions are raised, and unspoken fears linger beneath the surface. Even in this moment of calm, the weight of recent discoveries presses heavily on the group, reminding them that rest is temporary and the road ahead offers little certainty.

When the journey resumes, the forest begins to change in subtle and unsettling ways. Autumn hues fade into vibrant spring blossoms, and the air itself seems to hum with ancient magic. The path bends toward a solitary flowering tree standing alone in a clearing, its presence drawing Reed forward with an instinct she cannot ignore.

Through communion with the magic bound to the land, long-buried truths finally surface. Reed witnesses fragments of a past soaked in fire and shadow, revealing the fate of Ribbiton and the brutal events that ended halfling rule. Names once spoken only in whispers return with weight and consequence, exposing a history shaped by loss, secrecy, and survival.

Visions unfold in fractured images. Flames consume rooftops as monstrous shapes descend from the sky. Screams are swallowed by smoke, and defenders fall one by one. At the center of it all stands a steward named Norcus, trapped between duty and terror as the crown he swore to protect is torn away forever.

The others listen from the edges, piecing together what they can as Reed recounts the echoes of what she has seen. What was once a forgotten ruin now stands revealed as a calculated erasure, and the burden of that legacy settles heavily on the group. Ribbiton was not simply destroyed - it was silenced.

As the truth settles, questions follow. Who ordered the attack, who benefited from the silence, and why has the land waited this long to speak? The party debates what responsibility means when history is uncovered too late to save the innocent. The answers may not come quickly, but the cost of ignoring them would be far greater.

As the revelation fades, the forest grows quiet once more. Grief gives way to resolve, and resolve sharpens into purpose. Whatever destroyed Ribbiton was not an accident, and whatever force still watches from afar may soon make itself known again.
