Dying to Live

Episode Description

What if truly living requires something in us to die first?

In this episode of Running Our Race, we explore the biblical call to die to ourselves so that Christ can fully live through us. Galatians 2:20 reminds us that following Jesus is more than adding Him to our lives, it is surrendering our old life and allowing Him to become the center of a new one.

Through Galatians 5:24 and Romans 8:13, we talk about putting to death the desires of the flesh and choosing to walk by the Spirit. This kind of dying isn't about losing our life without purpose; it's about letting go of the things that keep us from experiencing the life God has for us.

Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in John 3:3–5 takes this even deeper: in order to enter into new life, we must be born again. The old has to make way for the new.

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."Galatians 2:20

Sometimes the greatest transformation in our race doesn't come from trying harder to become better, it comes through surrender. We die to the flesh, die to our own way, and die to the person we once were so that we can truly live in Christ.
