Today, China holds all the cards. It's tough to see a single area where the US has an advantage in either military or economic competition. The Chinese businessman and geopolitical analyst Hoa Bin has been making a lot of sense out of this, going so far as to advocate for a total “decoupling” of the US and China. While extreme, it is necessary for any kind of nationalism to work in either country.
